Great opportunities to try the locally caught fishes

Located beside St. Barcelona church. We ordered smoked trout and was a new experience to us. Since it was the smoked method of cooking, the trout's skin tastes like bacon. The trout meat also not bad.

What really disappointed us was the fact that the fish we bought didn't come from the lake but from a fish farm. It is understandable that the Königssee itself cannot produce enough fish given the influx of tourists, but to simply hide this fact and make it seem as if the fish came fresh from the lake... I don't think this is correct. The fish itself tasted good to all of us.

The smoked fish is good. It is worth a try if you took the boat all the way here. If you decide to stay, order and pay for your fish inside where the expresso machine is. Get your fish and find a free seat. Seats can be found inside the expresso room or the alcove room with benches and tables. You can buy the smoked fish to go or to stay. If you get it to go, it comes cold and sealed in a plastic. If you get it to stay, it comes in room temp under a heat lamp. The latte is good.

Two years later (2024) the char is still just as good. 😍 Today we took our day trip to the beautiful peninsula. And what could be better than eating delicious fish there? I've had a char fillet on rolls before. That made me want more. So after about 1.5 hours we hiked back and ate a whole char for lunch. It was super tasty and the bones came off perfectly. We were very satisfied. The staff was also very friendly. We have nothing to complain about. Thanks.

During this trip to Denan, I ate a lot of trout, and the ones here are the most delicious. Don’t miss it if you have the chance!

Trout smoke is good together with the horseradish mayo.

The char was delicious, rarely eaten such delicious and well smoked fish. Of course it is a tourist place and therefore expensive. But before I eat a currywurst next door for almost €15, I would rather pay almost €18.00 for a fish that was caught the day before and smoked fresh in the morning. Drinks weren't more expensive than anywhere else and the staff in the small, cozy, rustic hut is authentic. Delicious and recommended

The smoked fish tastes excellent. Never had such a good char smoked fish roll. Since everything here is very touristy, the price is correspondingly high. There is very little seating outside.

A great place to eat very tasty smoked fish. The ambience is right, the friendliness of the staff is excellent and the prices are very fair. Now very tastefully decorated for Christmas. Thank you for this very nice experience! :-)

Here we ate delicious smoked trout. We even received a discount because there were only “smaller” ones available. Delicious.

Had fish rolls for lunch during our visit to St. Bartholomä. The rolls were delicious and the prices are reasonable for such a tourist attraction.

Further on, there was a restaurant with a lot of people, but I was attracted by the smoke in this restaurant. When I walked into the store, there was no one there, and no clerk came to greet me. Because there is only German in the store, it is not conducive for tourists to order food (there is no Internet over Königssee, and I can't use a translator). I asked how to order, and the clerk told me that there are two types of smoked salmon meals that can be ordered. Order one of each and let’s have a look! The meat of the fish is all very good (one kind is redder, the other is whiter). There is not much to eat locally. It is an authentic experience that I have never eaten elsewhere.

Just come here and try the fish. It’s the best smoked fish we ever had. As you sit in the small hut you’ll be rewarded with smells of smoked fish. Literally smoke clouds which kind of became way too much for us so we left after eating quickly. But it was all worth it for the delicious amazing fish.

Brötchen sehr lecker, angemessene Preise für lokalen Fisch. Fisch war fast grätenfrei, man sollte aber trotzdem aufpassen, jedes Brötchen hätte bei uns mind. 1 Gräte. Wasser für 3,50 ist jedoch deutlich zu viel

店內有兩種魚，一個是鱒魚一個是紅點鮭魚，紅點鮭的煙燻味較濃，我個人比較喜歡，鱒魚也好吃，但腥味稍微有一點點，可能是煙燻得比較淡的緣故，餐點會配上一片麵包、一塊奶油跟芥末醬。

Das Saiblingsbrötchen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt, obwohl ich Fisch nicht besonders gerne esse und dann auch nur gebraten

Wir haben jeweils ein Brötchen mit geräucherter Forelle und geräuchertem Saibling mitgenommen und am Ufer des Königssees schmecken lassen. Auch die frische Brezel aus dem Ofen ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Výborný uzený pstruh a skvělé pivo, ideální kombinace pro dnešní horké počasí. Mají tu i spoustu senvičů, které si můžete vzít s sebou jen tak do ruky. Velmi milá obsluha, určitě doporučujeme ✌️

Der beste Räucherfisch, den ich gegessen habe. Es war super zart und nicht zu sälzig. Die Fische hier müssten wirklich gegessen haben. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles war hier richtig:)

It is a famous stopover for all tourists that sail the Königssee, whether you come from the main station or Salet. They smoke their fish in the backyard which is even open to let you see it. There is no service though, you order and you get your food right at the cashier, then you find yourself a seat and eat. Tables are shared. The fish is expensive but the best I have ever eaten. It is not from the lake however because there is too much demand. Recommended a visit.

Sehr leckeres Fischbrötchen mit Saibling und Blick auf den Königssee gegessen.

Entweder am Abend bevor man am nächsten morgen aufbricht durch die Ostwand auf den Watzmann oder genau so wenn man nach Tagen aus dem steinernen Meer zurück in die Zivilisation ( voll mit Touris ) kommt. Der Beste Platz für Fisch und a Glasl Wein mit Aussicht

Jedesmal ein Muss auf dem Rückweg einer Bergtour. Der Fischer Thomas und sein Team sind immer freundlich, der Räucherfisch eine Delikatesse und das Ambiente in der alten Fischerhütte absolut traumhaft. Macht weiter so. Ich komme auf jeden Fall immer wieder zu euch sehr gerne.

Sehr schöner, gemütlicher Biergarten. Wir haben nur etwas getrunken, da es noch relativ früh am Vormittag war.
