Mega location in Nuremberg. Whenever I come to town I try to come here. (Live 600km away) Good food with a cold beer in an earthenware mug.

There were three of us without a reservation on a Saturday, the seats inside were reserved but there was a 1.5 hour time slot for us, it was shortly after opening, but we decided to eat outside where we had more time. The service was all very friendly, the dishes were delicious. We had peppery minced meat stew, tarte flambée and a large salad. My recommendation would be to go at night until the evening as the tavern looks very nice but is also well staffed.

Went there for the first time thanks to a friend's birthday and immediately became a fan. Beautiful atmosphere, the best music, super nice and humorous service and really delicious food. Can highly recommend the cheese dip in bread. The small portion was already too much for me, but leftovers are packed up and still taste good at home. (Seriously, a large portion of this must be enough for 2 people. It's just a lot of cheese. But super tasty.👌) If Nuremberg wasn't over an hour's train ride away, I would probably move in. I'll definitely come back!💗

Fantastic experience. We were transported into medieval ages. The atmosphere is otherworldly, the food delicious, and the staff make sure you're satisfied at all times. I'll recommend this place to all my friends and families visiting Nürnberg and I'll definitely be coming back for more next time. This is a MUST-go place in my book. My only complaint is that the music was some kind of German medieval-like "metal". I would've preferred some calmer instrumental music that fits the age more, but it wasn't bad to listen to either. Definitely vibed to a few of the songs.

Beautiful ambience in medieval style, which immediately captivates everyone. It's perfect for people who are traveling alone, because the huge tables mean you never eat alone and you can quickly start a conversation.

Medieval place, excellent food and service

Extremely atmospheric tavern with top quality food and drinks and great quality/price balance. We were lucky to have Peaches serve us. His service (in English!) was outstanding and made the evening even better. Would absolutely visit again if given the chance. Don't miss this for lunch, dinner or just drinks.

The honey beer here is a class apart. The atmosphere of this place, even the waiters and everything, is just like a whole experience. A highly recommended experience. I recommend booking a table a.k.a reserving before coming as it can get full pretty quickly. But it's worth it. I love this place. I got garlic bread the first time i was here and it was really hard to eat, but i think it was just that day as my friends had a totally different item served under the same title which was really good.

Delicious food and ambience. Unfortunately, when there's a lot going on, it quickly becomes loud. Prices for drinks are relatively high.

Third time: fully convinced again! Were there yesterday and everything from the service to the food and drink was perfect! Thats how it is suppost to be. Second time: Made a special stopover to go to the tavern again. This was closed without notice, although according to the opening times it should have been open. No notice on the Internet or Facebook... a hundred kilometer detour made for free... First time: Great shop! Delicious food, inexpensive beer, great ambience and super nice staff. It's a great evening!

Very nice tavern with a very great, rustic atmosphere. Really worth seeing for medieval fans and also worth a visit. The food is delicious, the service is great. The prices are a little higher, but ok given the atmosphere. The only criticism: We ordered extra bread for our cheese dip and only got 3 half slices of bread. A little more bread for dipping would be nicer, regardless of whether you order extra bread or not. 😊 otherwise everything is great.

I celebrated with 30 people in this wonderful tavern and can only report positive things. I was overwhelmed by the organization, the atmosphere was authentic and cozy, the staff was friendly and very attentive and all the guests were enthusiastic. Thank you for this unforgettable evening!

A must if you are in Nuremberg, spent the whole evening there until late into the night, enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere, drank a beer or two and enjoyed the delicious food, the prices are completely reasonable for what you get there and a wonderful ambience, great friendly staff and a unique experience, thank you very much for your hospitality. If we're in Nuremberg again, we'll be happy to come back!

Mega cool tavern, I really felt like I was transported back in time

We went there spontaneously for dinner yesterday. Unfortunately there was no more gluten-free bread as it was very busy on Saturday, I was told. I really wanted this cheese dip but without bread, well not so much. But still found something and was totally thrilled. Very tasty, great service (both) and a nice atmosphere. Thank you very much 😊 I'll definitely be back

Honestly, the nerd in me jumps for joy in Finya's tavern. The food is rustic, but digestible and varied enough so that there is something for most people. The service is personable and humorous, in addition to being dressed appropriately for the ambience. But the ambience is definitely the star of this place. From fur-lined wooden benches and tables, to clay dishes and candles, to the antlers and axes on the walls, Finya's tavern makes you feel like a character in a DnD game. And in keeping with the fact that every good DnD campaign begins in a tavern, you get to know like-minded people every time you visit. I've never met anyone at Finya who is NOT either a Pen&Paper player or a LARPer... or both! Best of all, Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer tabletop and an open attitude towards unusual personalities. At Finya you forget your problems with good food, good music and good company. The bill only hurts half as much.

Update: I kept my promise, and I visit again last night and it is still amazing :) I loved the place so much I visited this tavern two nights in a row and spent in total 8 hours!!! I really loved that they have a special song for closing Andrea Bocelli for Friday and feierabend for saturday :) I need to add a side note: I am extremely grateful to the serving lady ( i hope sees) she kindly replaced my helles bier with honey beer. I am planning to visit again in two weeks i hope i can update this review with further good memories...

The madness!! I was recently on a business trip in NBG and walked through the city in the evening and that's when I found the tavern. Absolute dream. At some point I will travel from Berlin to Nuremberg especially for you, but this time in a larger group!

In the Finyas Tavern in Nuremberg you immerse yourself in an atmosphere that makes you believe you are in the Middle Ages. Enjoying traditional Bavarian cuisine in this ambience is a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it.

OMG. If you wanna feel like you've just stepped into The Leaky Cauldron or The Prancing Pony, this is your spot! Beautiful, atmospheric. Makes me want to come in garb. This place is what the beer gardens at your local Ren Fair or SCA event aspire to be when they grow up. The Good News: food and drinks and great and the atmosphere is unbeatable. The Bad News: They don't open until late afternoon. They're ridiculously popular, so I'd recommend a reservation.

If I could, the rating would be zero, the service was the worst in my life, arrogant, impudent, I do not recommend it to anyone unless you like to be treated like intruders.

Strongly recommend having dinner here in a beautiful part of town, in a very unique tavern setting. It hearkens back to medieval tavern culture, with earthenware mugs (tankards?) and hearty dishes. Mead and other unique drinks were a fun change from the other cafes and Wirtshäuser. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. While we were here before dusk, I feel it would be even more fun after dark!

Very nice atmosphere and really tasty drinks. The food was a bit expensive for the portion sizes but quite tasty. When it comes to service, well, we had 2 waitresses in the cellar vault, one of whom was very friendly, always with a smile and generally a very, very nice person. The other one looked like she was being forced to work here, shouted at us when we couldn't be understood immediately in the very loud, crowded vault and had a very passive aggressive manner that didn't necessarily help us come here again. A pity.

Spontaneously had a third meal. Absolutely recommended, whether it's a vegetable casserole, cheese dip or minced meat, everything is really tasty. Service is very cool and you can really feel comfortable.

Medieval ambience and delicious food and drink! It's hard to recommend Finyas because everything actually tastes good! Nevertheless, I would like to recommend two things to those unfamiliar with the area: WeinWein (yes - it's really called that!) and tarte flambée (my favorite is with Camembert and cranberries = Westlander). In the heart of the old town you can escape the “modern times” for a few hours!

A definitely good restaurant, especially if you want to treat yourself to something good in a medieval atmosphere. The staff are friendly and courteous and the food and drinks are very good. I'm always happy to be there.

The atmosphere is extremely great and authentic (medieval) as well as cozy (with lots of candlelight). The waitresses were very friendly and funny! The selection of food is quite small and absolutely overpriced! We found the fact that half a tarte flambée (see photo) costs €12 to be absolutely unreasonable! The cheese fondue only comes with a slice of bread. Both meals were extremely salty! A pity!

The coolest gift ever! You always meet cool and open people here, the drinks are good and so is the food! And especially with the mega cool atmosphere, you just have to see and experience it in Nuremberg. Everything is right here!

We've been here twice now. The first time we went was on a Friday with live music, the second time was on a weekday just before Christmas. Both visits were great. The food is very tasty and, in my opinion, very well adapted to the medieval atmosphere. Of course there are also things on the menu that definitely didn't exist in the Middle Ages, but I personally see that as completely uncritical. I think the atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the staff also wear appropriate clothing. When there isn't live music, medieval tavern music and (modern) medieval rock play in the background at a pleasant volume. All in all, the restaurant is a must for all medieval fans and everyone else. We'd love to come back!

I had dinner in this restaurant with my Italian family and we were served by a blond boy who was dressed in medieval costume and was wearing no shoes, he was barefoot. I was completely dissatisfied with the service for various reasons: having to translate the menus to my parents and help them, when the waiter came to order I asked him for more time and he came back after a minute, so for the second time I had to ask him to wait and he was visibly annoyed by this even though it was 8pm so there was no reason to rush. Although he had come to the table several times, only after we had ordered a while did he tell us that two dishes we had ordered were finished. He later noticed that we had removed a paper napkin from under the candle placed on the table and when the waiter noticed he started to get nervous, saying that it was wrong that we shouldn't remove it and to inform him if we were missing napkins. I didn't answer because it seemed like a trivial matter to me and at a certain point he says aggressively, raising his voice "do you need more napkins??" The service in general left something to be desired, it wasn't friendly even when it brought us the dishes. After a while he sees that my sister had taken a very small piece of wax from the candle placed on the table and starts to get angry saying that we shouldn't have done that, to leave the candles alone and not touch anything, until he shouts, and I quote "don't play with the fu****g wax ok?!" As if that wasn't enough, as soon as we finish eating (9.10pm) the waiter starts pressuring us to leave, asking us if we've finished, if we want anything else and we reply no; he returns to ask the same questions after a short time, always in a rude manner. After a couple of minutes he comes back and asks us if we want to pay by card or cash and tells us to go to his colleague at the cash register, even though we hadn't asked for the bill and there were still other tables in the restaurant, the closing time was well distant. Having said that, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very particular and oppressive, it was very dark, there were animal furs hanging everywhere, everything in medieval style, very uncomfortable benches, the staff was dressed in medieval costume and I would like to reiterate that our waiter walked around the restaurant barefoot. You may or may not like this atmosphere, I think it's right to be informed. I was really shocked by the behavior of this waiter, he ruined the mood of the whole table and I think he took advantage of the fact that my parents, adults of a certain age, did not understand English and therefore he allowed himself to treat us bad. I strongly advise against it, the food was nothing special I have eaten much better in other restaurants in the city.

Was a weird experience here... Had high hopes based upon reviews, but it didn't quite meet the expectations. Not sure about the vibe, were there when they opened, didn't have reservations but was seated, which we appreciated. The weird thing is, the place was empty and we were placed at a table with another couple, the restaurant stayed empty while we were there. Of course there may have been reservations for those empty tables, but they stayed empty during our time there, so even allowing for cultural accomodations, it just didn't make sense. Of course, to us. Service was ok, but seemed distant and preoccupied, were they getting ready for a busy evening? Again, ok when the place might be bustling, and allow for the fact we were there early and they were prepping for a full dinner service later. But was still weird and left us with a weird feeling. Food was alright, just so. The interior design and decorations, etc., gave it a quaint look and feel. All in all, was ok.

Lugar de cuentos de hadas !!!! Caminando por una calle cualquiera de Nuremberg nos encontramos con esta taberna estilo medieval, es increíblemente hermosa. La decoración está cuidada al más mínimo detalle, hasta el vestuario de los camareros. Cabe decir del buen trato recibido por ellos !!!!!! Un sitio para ir en Nuremberg y probar sus bebidas exóticas.

Hab meinen Junggesellenabschied dort verbracht und bin knapp 4 Jahre später dort wieder aufgeschlagen. Ungemein schönes, mittelalterliches Ambiente. Für mich als einer aus der Szene einfach wundervoll. Die Bedienung ist, wie man es von einer Schankmaid erwartet: rau und herzlichen. Definitiv eine meiner Lieblingsläden. Ihr werdet mich wiedersehen!

Es gibt absolut nichts, was an Finyas Taverne negativ ist. Fangen wir beim Essen an, egal ob Flammkuchen oder Eintöpfe, das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Das Personal ist ausnahmslos freundlich, schnell und nett. Das Ambiente in der Taverne ist einmalig. Finya schafft es in Zusammenspiel mit Musik, Einrichtung, Dekoration und Authentizität ein einmaliges Flair zu schaffen. Finyas Taverne kann ich jedem als Pflichtbesuch empfehlen!

Es war ein schöner Abend in rauem Ambiente. Begrüßt wurden wir von einem Hünen und an unseren Plätzen wurden wir gut unterhalten von mittelalterlichen Minnesängern. Das Essen, so simpel es auch war, war es sehr gut. Schmalzstullen und ein Eintopf, dazu Getränke aus Krügen. Die Mitarbeiter scheinen ihren Job zu leben und dad machte Spass es mitzuerleben. Den Sternabzug gab es wegen der Möglichkeit auf dem Örtchen, jemand auch im Sitzen zu sehen. Auch wenn sicher nicht beabsichtigt, so ist das Spaltmaß der Tür nicht zu verachten. Aber sonst, gerne wieder.

Wow, ich komme eigentlich aus Köln und was soll ich sagen, wir haben über die letzten Jahre viel verloren. Ich war schon öfter in Nürnberg aber leider bin ich erst in der letzten Woche über dieses Juwel vom Laden gestolpert. Dank eines neuen Kontaktes in der Stadt durfte ich den Laden kennenlernen. Es war fantastisch, leckeres Bier, tolle Leute Mega Ambiente. Das nächste mal werde ich in jeden Fall wieder hier sein und ein dunkles Met Bier trinken,

Sehr gemütliches, mittelalterliches Ambiente mit äußerst humorvollen und freundlichen Personal. Das Essen war köstlich, insbesondere der Flammkuchen.

Was habe ich es vermisst: Auf Fellen in der schummrig beleuchteten Ecke sitzen, dazu "Mittelalter-Rock" hören und bei "gar vorzüglich Speis und Trank" ein wenig mit Freunden plaudern. Hier jammert/meckert/lästert auch niemand über meinen Hund, mein fehlendes Schuhwerk oder "Zigeuner-Outfit"... Hier kann meine Seele baumeln... Hier fühle ich mich wohl!

Came here because of the excellent reviews but were a tad disappointed. Food was average, was not impressed with the beef stew (slightly too salty) and the fish stew (slightly too smoked). We came at opening time and restaurant was about 30% full after 20mins. However, service took longer than expected for the low capacity they had. Plain water was charged at Eur4.30 per 500ml glass as per the menu, for a total of Eur8++ for the two of us. This was way overpriced and a factor for the average review in our view.

Finyas Taverne, naja....ich bin Wiederholungstäter. Hammer-Ambiente, nette Bedienung. Metbier gibt's jetzt in hell und dunkel. Flammkuchen sind sehr lecker. Also da sollte man schon Mal gewesen sein.👍🥰

Drink the honey- mead and then leave! I ate a stew. Absolutly terrible, but admittedely a lot of meat! This is not a medieval rstaurant, They have not made any serious effort to put together a menue resembling what people ate 5-600 years ago.

Finyas Taverne ist eine sehr gemütliche mittelalterliche Kneipe. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und ist auch immer für einen kleinen Scherz zu haben. Die Speisekarte ist klein aber fein. Wenn man in Nürnberg ist, lohnt es sich dort einmal einzukehren.

Ich war am Montagabend dort. Sehr schöne mittelalterlich eingerichtete Taverne. Der Service auch in entsprechendem Outfit. Bei mir Tisch saßen noch zwei weitere Gäste, waren super entspannt. Ich mag solche Lokalitäten. Ich muss da unbedingt noch einmal hin.

Mittelalter in der Neuzeit! Wir haben 3 verschiedene Gerichte (Gemüse Auflauf, Hacksuppe, Rindereintopf) und 3 für uns ungewöhnliche Getränke (z.B. Poetentrunk: Schwarzbier mit Met) aus Tongefäßen bestellt, und: wirklich richtig gut, und zwar alles! Auch der Service in zum Ambiente und der Musik passender Kluft war sehr nett und schnell, die Preise waren gut. Schöner fand ich es im Erdgeschoss, aber auch das erste OG, in dem wir unseren Tisch hatten, ist sehr gemütlich. Wenn wir wieder in die Stadt kommen, freue ich mich jetzt schon auf einen erneuten Besuch.

Mittelalterliche Küche und Atmosphäre, Erlebnisgastronomie im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Wir waren maximal und positiv überrascht als wir zum Abendessen dort einkehrten und super freundliche Leute vorfanden, die uns maximal freundlich und hervorragend bewirtet haben.
