A very cozy restaurant with medieval charm. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. We would gladly come back again.

A charmingly medieval tavern with candlelight and very friendly, efficient staff. Reservations are highly recommended, otherwise it's nearly impossible to get a table. The tarte flambée and stew are delicious, and the portions are quite generous.

Fantastic and absolutely unique. We only wanted to grab one last drink at a bar and ended up in this tavern. It feels like stepping back into the Middle Ages. There's a huge selection of mead and mead beer, all served in jugs. So if you're looking for something different, you should definitely go here.

An absolute must for anyone visiting Nuremberg. Step back in time to the Middle Ages. Everyone here is incredibly friendly. The food and drinks are perfectly tailored to the tavern's atmosphere. Let yourself be enchanted by this charming establishment.

I went in because it was a craft beer place. The server asked if I was okay with the next table singing and sharing a table. I said yes and went in. They led me to a cave-like basement, where I saw a group of people playing guitar and singing at the next table. It actually matched the interior and atmosphere, making it a pleasant experience. The server was also very friendly, with her bare feet and medieval attire, and she had a clear concept. She also recommended a beer, which was nice. The beer had a fruity flavor...? It had a subtle sweetness and a complex aroma, so I, a lager drinker, didn't like it. My boyfriend, a beer enthusiast, thought it was delicious and had two glasses.

The best medieval tavern! The menu offers a good selection, and the food has been excellent every time. The drinks list also includes mead and a few other specialties. Plus, the service is always friendly and cheerful, and the music is great. The events are also highly recommended if you're looking for something off the beaten track.

A wonderful experience at one of the best and most beautiful taverns in Germany. Warm, welcoming, and phenomenal. Absolutely delighted! Michelle and Peaches are the best! Next stop in Nuremberg, of course, is Finya's Tavern again!

The restaurant was styled like a medieval tavern, and the atmosphere was unique. The place was lively and crowded. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were seated at a large table, and although we shared it with others, it wasn't uncomfortable. The waiters' attire complemented the ambiance beautifully.

Great tavern. Very cozy with candlelight, a lovely owner, and very cheerful and friendly service. Beer is served chilled in a stoneware mug. Anyone who remembers the Druid from back then will be surprised 😁🥰 (The 3 stars weren't intentional; I made a mistake.)

Great vibes! The entrance is on the north side of the street, but Google showed it on the south. They were able to get us a shared table without reservations, so I definitely recommend calling ahead. Food was good, but the vibes were excellent! Very cool atmosphere and decor, would go again!

A super-cult restaurant, very rustic, with candlelight and Celtic background music. The tarte flambée was the best I've ever eaten. The dark beer from the Westerwald clay mugs was delicious. Everything was perfect. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. Wi-Fi is, thankfully, limited or nonexistent, so you have to keep talking... great! Thanks for a lovely evening.

It's worth a visit just to see the atmosphere and meet the staff. The moment you enter, you're transported to the Middle Ages. Our barefoot waiter, dressed like an innkeeper, was so charming and sweet. We were cold walking around barefoot, but he was perfectly happy ;) The beers and presentation were excellent. For the food, I had leek soup and tarte flambe. My wife chose a medieval chicken dish from the weekly special. We both enjoyed the food. The price was very reasonable. I recommend making a reservation.

Very nice atmosphere, but you should expect to spend a bit of money for the evening. But it's worth it, and the atmosphere is lovely, as are the many regulars' tables.

What a disappointment!!!!! No atmosphere (very different from all the pictures and reviews). The decor, however, was nice. We were alone!! Mediocre service (we asked for advice; the waitress was vegetarian: we were in a charcuterie/meat restaurant!!!) 22 euros for a simple tarte flambée with bacon, some kind of shell! Shameful. Don't do it! Unfortunately, it's a tourist trap. We discovered better while walking around Nuremberg.

I completely fell in love with this place.🤎 It’s right on a street lined with beautiful old buildings, and I just couldn’t resist stepping inside. The first night it was super crowded, so I only managed to get in near closing time and had a quick beer. But it blew me away, it was so good that I came back the very next day before leaving Nuremberg just to have another one. If beer tasted like this every day, I’d never get tired of it. The vibe is just as amazing as the beer. The outside is covered with pretty plants, and once you walk in, it feels like stepping onto a movie set. Wooden interiors, dripping candles, mounted leather—everything is decorated with such care. The staff even wear medieval costumes, which makes the whole place feel even more special. Honestly, it’s the best. Period.

I was in Nürnberg for a few days and went here for two nights with my friends, beautiful location, excellent food and drinks. It seems like you went back to medieval times for a night! So beautiful! And the ones who work there are super gentle, if you pass by Nürnberg i reccomend at least to give it a try, you will not regret!

We were looking for a nice little bar where we could have a beer that evening. We stumbled upon this tavern by chance. The waiters were all very, very friendly. The beer was also good, of course. For dinner, we simply tried a tarte flambée and bread with lard, which was also very tasty and completely reasonable in price. The interior is decorated like a medieval town, with a great atmosphere. We'd love to go back.

First of all, I have to say that it's a really nice, rustic restaurant. Here and there, they could have put a lot more effort into promoting different things. The service was excellent; even after pointing out that our 0.5-liter beer bottle was only half full, the beer was refilled without any problems. We ate the fish soup, the weekly special with chicken, beef soup, and the minced meat soup. Delicious in any case, but the price is worth considering. A small pot costs €15, and the large pot costs almost €10 more. The sizes are barely distinguishable. Therefore, it's unclear how the price is calculated. Overall, it's worth a visit if you have the necessary cash. And a word of advice from the team: if you decorate your restaurant in a rustic style, it would be great if you tried to decorate the restrooms in the same way :D Many thanks to the team anyway

A unique ambiance and excellent food and drinks impress with their authenticity. You'll be transported back to another era, and nothing at Finyas seems out of place. The service is pleasant, the food very good, and the prices reasonable. You won't leave hungry or thirsty when you return to the present. A visit is always worthwhile!

Incredible restaurant located on a typical Nuremberg street. The medieval atmosphere is truly felt here. The decor and the dark side of the restaurant create an incredible atmosphere. The waiters are dressed in period costumes, which really adds to the immersion. The dishes are homemade and very good. The bill is very reasonable for Germany. I recommend it.

The food is very good, and so is the beer. The two waitresses were very nice and accommodating! Unfortunately, there seems to be an ant problem, because they kept crawling out of the cracks in the table. Perhaps that fits the medieval atmosphere, but everyone has to judge for themselves 🤭. Also, the moldy fur on the benches needs to be removed; they really bothered me...

Finya's Tavern is a wonderful medieval tavern with great food and outstanding mead! The staff here are cheerful and really fun. Whenever I'm in Nuremberg, coming here is always a highlight for me. This time I went on a weekday without a reservation. You can often get a seat for two people. But I generally recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends.

It was a place where we really felt like we were in the Middle Ages. The harmony between the staff and the environment is really good. The presentations are great. What we ate was delicious. I was very happy that there was a gluten-free bread option.

Always a delight for the palate. There's nothing on the menu that isn't outstanding, whether it's drinks or food. The medieval ambiance fits perfectly and feels particularly cozy. For a particularly contrasting time travel experience, we recommend a visit to the restrooms. They're very well-maintained and anything but medieval.

I thought long and hard about whether to leave a review, but I decided to do it anyway, because I assume bad reviews are simply deleted, and I'm testing whether they stay, and for how long... We were a larger group and had our own area. That was nice! And the ambiance was nice, but it was just too dark for me! If I can't read the menu without a (cell phone) flashlight, that's already a minus! But the food was a disgrace! The "herb bread" with garlic was bitter! A chef friend told me: "That's what happens when you use old garlic that's already sprouting." Since I trust this chef, I believe him. But the excessive amount of herbs continued. The tarte flambée with salmon was so overburdened with herbs that I had to remove them first to find the salmon. Even at just under €23, it was simply too expensive, given the otherwise inexpensive basic ingredients. But others in the group were also dissatisfied. The vegetable stew seemed cheap and tasted like instant vegetable broth with vegetables. €13.10 for that, I'm sorry, isn't appropriate and too expensive! Many people had the bitter herb bread with garlic and didn't think it was special either. The classic tarte flambée was OK! Still: dough, sour cream, bacon, onions for €15.80??? If I go to the home of tarte flambée, it won't even cost half!!! I can't say anything about the other stews, but I think the menu overall is too expensive! Others in our group ordered another dish over the course of the evening... That sounds great, but for me, it's no honor if guests get hungry again over the course of the evening and are NOT full! The drinks didn't impress me either! The berry wine was piss-warm! Now you could say: It's supposed to be like that! But I didn't like this lukewarm mush! It's not on the menu either. And I didn't see it as red wine... A hint from the waitress would have been good! Now I come to the waitress: She was trying hard that evening. That was it! Some drinks were incorrectly added to the orders. So, because they couldn't really control it, they were charged twice. Absolutely unacceptable, it just HAS to be right! Conclusion: For me, once and never again! The 2 stars are generous because of the "ambience"! The prices are convincingly too high. (In another restaurant, I get a shoulder of pork for 22.50.) Others said they had been there the day before and had great service. Unfortunately, as a large group, we were just unlucky. More than unfortunate! I know everything has become more expensive, but unfortunately, my wages haven't either. So I simply expect a restaurant where the food and drink are right for the price and quality! Not here! And the ambiance alone isn't enough to make it look good (it was just too dark, even if authentic, still stupid)... I don't want a comment from the owner either; I just want this to be left uncommented, and for people to be able to tolerate the negative things. But that probably won't work either...

Great atmosphere. The decor is antique, as befits a tavern. The food tastes simply delicious, and the mead and various mead beers impress with every visit. The cheese dip is by far the best dish in the tavern. Always a great place for a relaxed evening with friends and colleagues. Addendum: The waiter sings Skyrim and gets bonus points 😂

Die Gesamtbewertung leidet unter dem Widerspruch zwischen dem hohen Preis für sehr einfaches Essen, das zudem sehr mäßig schmeckte. Ich spreche von den Suppen! Wir hatten drei verschiedene. Alle drei erinnerten an Kantinenessen, wobei es da auch geschmacklich stärkeres und schwächeres gibt. Die Suppen waren essbar aber eher schwach.

Staff was funny, cheerful and friendly. The atmosphere is exceptional and very cozy. The rustic dishes are very tasty, but unfortunately the tarte flambées are just ok.

The only thing better than the food was the attentive service staff. The tavern is furnished with such attention to detail that you immediately feel at home. We felt very welcome with a nursing baby and stroller.

Wow, I'm actually from Cologne and what can I say, we've lost a lot over the last few years. I've been to Nuremberg several times but unfortunately I only stumbled upon this gem of a shop last week. Thanks to a new contact in town, I was able to get to know the store. It was fantastic, delicious beer, great people and great atmosphere. Next time I'll definitely be here again and drink a dark mead beer, Update ;) The store is still as magical as it was when I first reviewed it. In addition, I now know that you can eat incredibly well there.

We got lucky to get a table without reservation, the place can be very busy. It is worth to try it, the atmosphere is so special and they offer delicious honey wine. Tart flambé was also good.

We were there yesterday for a family birthday party and felt very comfortable right from the start. Very harmonious ambience, pleasant lighting and subtle background music, matching the medieval furnishings. Both the mead beer (popular at our table in both the light and dark versions and also in the lower alcohol version with malt beer) and the spiced wine were very tasty and came to the table quickly. We were absolutely full with a small leek soup and half a tarte flambée (the western version with Camembert and cranberries). Our group also enjoyed the stews (venison ragout, peppery minced pot, beef stew with red wine) and the vegetable casserole. While elsewhere you don't get the opportunity to order a second drink because no waiter shows up after the food has been served, we were very positively surprised here. We were asked several times during the evening whether everything was still okay and whether there was anything else that could be done for us, without being intrusive in any way. There was a little joke here and there, the burned-out candles were quickly and easily replaced with new ones and reordering the drinks or choosing an individual side dish was no problem. In short, we felt completely at home and can fully recommend Finyas Tavern if, like us, you can relate to the medieval-inspired food and drinks on offer.

Was there recently for the first time and can only say that the service is top. Really nice for people who like medieval decor (also the reason why I went to the tavern). The guests were also nice, so I would love to come back!

Für Touris auf Mittelalter getrimmtes Lokal, mit Fellen auf den Holzbänken, defekten Lampen und einer Damen-Toilettenkabine ohne Tür, was wohl "historisch" wirken soll. Leider stehen auf einigen Bänken Metall-Krampen hoch, daher muss man vorsichtig mit seiner Kleidung sein. Und interessanterweise, so haben wir beobachtet, benutzt eine Bedienung ("Schankweib") die Theke für ausgedehnten Stretching-Übungen mit Beinen und Füßen.

If you are looking for an extraordinary place to spend a nice evening with friends or family, this is the right place for you. There is delicious food and great drinks in a medieval atmosphere. I particularly like the Radler Alternative with malt beer and Meet. Unfortunately, we waited a very long time for the food, even when we only ordered some bread.

Very nice tavern, but unfortunately very unfriendly and smug rejection if you didn't make a reservation and just wanted to have a nightcap for the two of you. We would have drunk our tankard of beer in front of the door. But obviously you can't turn anyone away. Certainly not (even with a reservation) again...

Invece del solito menù abbiamo provato questo locale in stile "quasi" medievale. Il locale è abbastanza scuro e ci sono candele sui tavoli. Il personale si presenta in abito tipico. Ottima la Flammkuchen (pizza alsaziana) classica, anche da condividere e anche gli Eintoepfe (stufati), sia di manzo che piccantino. Bevande in bicchieri di terracotta, anche vino al miele. Porzioni abbondanti (c'è anche la mezza porzione) e prezzo giusto

Delicious food, good beer, nice people, cool atmosphere, what more could you want?

You feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages, you could say it's a little journey back in time. The clay vessels, as well as the food in their production, are perfectly suited to this era. You can only use the spices that were available at the time. The Silk Road and the supermarket were far away or far from existent! Friendly employees. I recommend making reservations early, especially on weekends. As an individual you are usually given a place somewhere else. Always worth a visit.

We were here with a group of around 40 people and why we were well looked after. The food, which came to the tables on platters and could be enjoyed by everyone, was super tasty, the service was attentive and authentic and the ambience is unbeatable anyway!

The food and drink also fits the theme and is really tasty. It is a little expensive, but you also pay for the entire experience. I've been here many times and will come again. There is no better place to enjoy mead and cheese dip.
