Feinkost Kontor Hamburg - where they serve risotto and shrimp dishes alongside a doner kebab plate for lunch... I thought, okay, there's a lot of variety, but I asked: where is the doner kebab skewer? They said, "We chop it up like this..." 🤪🤩 Then they tried to charge me an additional fee for "foreign cards" when I paid with a regular German Mastercard without my consent... okay... I've never experienced that anywhere in the world, so I paid in cash... And then an older "brother" came by and said, "What did you order?" Me: Risotto... then he ran into the kitchen next door without saying anything and said: "Bro, where's risotto? I made a receipt." Then a few other funny exchanges with the chef and waitress, all with "Bro." And finally, risotto came... which was more like rice pudding, with chanterelle mushrooms squeezed in somewhere... 🙈🙈🙈👻👻👻 Other guests had seen another bro walk by who said: "Don't you have any food?" The guest: "No, not for a long time." Reply: "Oh, I see." That's about the Hamburg delicatessen Hafenkontor... You should have at least taken a basic course in Italian cooking and service if you're going to curse yourself like that or take over a place like that? Of course, I barely ate any of the risotto. There were a few other funny conversations too, for example, he sold me a soda that was on display 😅 Oh well... There are other shops there.

Quiet square within the hustle and bustle of the Philharmonic but very close to it. The waiters are very friendly and the food is delicious and better value than in the surrounding area. The menu is extensive and highly recommended.

Today, I went to Feinkost Hafencity with my work colleagues for lunch. In terms of value for money, the food was truly beyond reproach; it's definitely worth it. I would have even ordered it again. The service was different. Numbers are assigned for orders, which are then called out by the waiters. The gentleman taking the orders was also friendly. My colleagues and I waited to be called, and when my number was called, I answered immediately. My colleagues can testify that this was the first time the number had been called. The young waiter with the longer hair was visibly irritated and complained to me in a very rude tone that we should answer immediately and that we were "making their work difficult." That's completely unacceptable. After I let myself be insulted like that, we were also unpleasantly asked to put our dishes away. Not a big deal in itself—but it's all a matter of manners. Such behavior doesn't come to mind when I think of a name like "Feinkost." It was uncomfortable for all of us.

We went there for the fish sandwiches and were absolutely thrilled! The sandwiches were nice and crispy and the fish was fresh, simply delicious! The service wasn't that great at first. We weren't served for a long time, only after asking, and our order was unfortunately forgotten. After 30 minutes, we asked again, and then the food was finally prepared.

Everything was really good, except for the toilets. The currywurst was excellent with a very fruity sauce, the fries couldn't have been better, and the homemade remoulade was absolutely fantastic.

Order and pay inside – food is delivered promptly. We were there at lunchtime and enjoyed delicious crab sandwiches and fish sandwiches; casual atmosphere, very reasonable prices; would go back anytime!

The food was generally okay, but not above average. The price was really reasonable for the location right next to the Elbphilharmonie. The kids were able to play on the basketball court next door while we waited for our food. The service was very friendly, but sometimes a bit distracted and slow. One of the strawberries in the punch had mold; they could definitely improve their quality control.

We had the pan-fried fish with fried potatoes and penne with chicken strips. It was delicious, and the staff was very relaxed and friendly. I would go here again and highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, €6.50 for a large serving of fries is a bit overpriced. Considering that a currywurst only costs €9.90. Since the former owner is no longer there, everything you eat isn't as tasty as it used to be. However, the cakes are still baked by the former owner and are of good quality.

I recommend this restaurant for eating schnitzel. It was fresh, crispy, and delicious with sauce. Prices and portions are great too. The sitting area nice and comfortable. Service was quick. Also it is kids friendly

Never again were there and I ordered food once fried fish with chips and once pasta with salmon and a creamy dill sauce the chips were still raw and the pasta dish was a disaster there was no dill in the sauce and it wasn't creamy at all when I asked if everything was OK with the food I said no what so ever I was like the chips are raw ohh then I'll bring you new ones and then we said that there was no dill in the pasta dish and we were told I would bring some we got a bowl of sauce (a water milk mixture with dill just thrown in) and it tasted like Maggi I was really annoyed I'm never going there again

The food was average. Unfortunately, the service wasn't so good. Some of the food was missing, and the drinks weren't served at the same time, even though they were the same drink. The waiter took forever to bring the bill, and the bill was also incorrect.

Unfortunately, I was only there for coffee and cake today. I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I felt very comfortable and look forward to my next visit.

I grew up with the saying, "You either keep your word or you keep your mouth shut," and then we stood in front of the sign on the promenade near the Elphia, which read: "The best fish sandwiches in town." "Well, we'll give it a try," was our somewhat reserved reply... and the surprise was great. Fresh, large rolls from a local bakery, generously paired with delicious fish. In our case, three rolls with crab, fried fish, and salmon. All three varieties were simply delicious. We also got to know the people of this wonderful restaurant a little through friendly conversations. A family business with a lot of heart, love, and friendliness, even among each other. Whether these are the best fish sandwiches in town is something tourists don't have enough time to try, but we won't bother looking any further; we'll just come back here on our next trip. Unfortunately, they were completely overwhelmed with the order. Three people ordered the same dish, and it was only brought once. When asked, there was no apology, just overwhelmed service staff. Unfortunately, the overwhelmed service continued... And the taste was also rather mediocre 🥴 Too bad...

We stopped by for dinner spontaneously and were very pleasantly surprised! We received a friendly welcome and were served very quickly by a friendly waiter. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. The mushroom ravioli was very tasty, and the chicken and vegetable stir-fry was beautifully presented in an actual pan and tasted delicious! We'd be happy to go back!

The homemade cakes and tarts are also an absolute highlight and among the best in HafenCity. The prices are fair and offer excellent value for money. Overall, Feinkost Hafencity is a real insider tip and, in my opinion, the best restaurant in HafenCity, perfectly combining tradition and modernity and impressing with quality and hospitality.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch after a concert at the Elbphilharmonie. Two of us were immediately seated and served quickly and friendly. The food and drinks we ordered arrived promptly and correctly. I was glad I only ordered a small portion... it was really sufficient. Good food, you order your food at the counter and get your food served to your table. Therefore the waiters run around and shout numbers to find the person who ordered the dish. It's a convenient place to get a quick lunch.

Hello! We happened upon this shop by chance – lured by the slogan "The best fish sandwich in Hamburg." I'm usually rather skeptical of such claims, but here I have to say: It's really true. The sandwich was crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside – just right. The fish was super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and of really good quality. No weird aftertaste, no tough texture – just an honest, really well-made fish sandwich. I'd also like to particularly highlight the homemade remoulade: creamy, spicy, and in the perfect amount. You can simply taste the love that goes into making this place. What surprised us in a particularly positive way: Although we're not locals (and it probably shows right away), we were treated incredibly friendly. Not the least bit condescending or impatient; on the contrary: We were welcomed as if we were true Hamburg natives. Relaxed, warm, North German-style, direct – just as you'd hope. The shop itself is clean, well-organized, and everything runs smoothly, even with a large number of customers. The value for money is also excellent – ​​you're really happy to pay for what you get here. In short: If you're in Hamburg and wondering where to get a real, honest fish sandwich – you've come to the right place. We'll definitely be back!

It wasn't just good—it was holy. The mackerel was as tender as angel skin, the sandwich crispy as freshly baked heavenly bread, and a hint of onion that transported my taste buds to a state of grace. I swear, for a moment, I saw a gently smiling light on the horizon. Maybe it was Jesus. Maybe it was just the perfect drizzle of tartar sauce. Who knows? But that wasn't all: The staff was earthly proof that true greatness doesn't have to be loud. Friendly, attentive, with that unfussy naturalness that's hard to describe—let's just call it: Big Dick Energy in its purest form. No pretense necessary, no attitude—just confident, warm, on point. You feel welcome, almost like an old friend finally coming home. I'm not a religious person—at least, I wasn't until today. We stopped here today spontaneously and purely by chance. What can I say: we didn't regret it! Friendly and VERY attentive staff! The fish sandwich was fresh and delicious, and the iced coffee was just as you'd expect, not too sweet. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

They advertise the best fish sandwich in town, and it really is. The sandwich was crispy and thin when warm. Very well-filled and not much more expensive than other places. We also had super delicious fries. It's not a pretentious place. The service seemed a bit disorganized at times, a bit scattered, and could be improved. Nevertheless, friendly and very attentive. We'll be back next time.

I've known this café since 2018 and have always enjoyed eating there – the lunch dishes were always delicious. My experience on June 20, 2025, at 2:20 p.m. was all the more disappointing. When paying, I politely pointed out an error on the receipt. The employee became loud, treated me disrespectfully, and charged incorrect amounts several times without taking my comments seriously. Eventually, I was even banned from the restaurant – for absolutely no reason. The server tried to apologize, but was reprimanded by a colleague right in front of me. This behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional – and, after years of loyal customer service, particularly disappointing for me.

Really good fish sandwiches! And other North German-style dishes. Classic seafood with fries and a delicious, surely homemade remoulade. Down-to-earth cuisine, no frills. The appetizers are also highly recommended. Only a 5-8 minute walk from the Elphi, practically a real insider tip.

I came into work for the week and came across this place and what drew me in was their smiles, cleanliness and English menus. I ordered a beef burger with fries which they served with a curry sauce. Hands down the BEST BURGER EVER! If you’re in Hamburg, it’s a must to come here and try their food

The fish sandwich was very good. Unfortunately, the beer keg was empty, so the drinks came after the meal. The beer was warm, so it was chilled with ice cubes, beer on ice. There was no spritzer either... Orders in the beer garden were only taken in the designated area (the front rows). Those further back had to make their own way. What a shame!

The fried fish sandwich was super delicious, crispy, warm, with remoulade. It came very quickly. Really good, in other words. Ordering is a bit confusing if you're sitting outside. (You have to remember your table, order inside, and then it's brought outside.) But it's pretty simple. Now for the problem: The beer keg was empty. The waitress said it would take about 15 minutes and it would have to be replaced. We waited longer for the beer. The waitress put ice in the beer herself because the new keg was still warm, of course. There was no carbonation in the beer either. We were then given a new one, warm and without ice. The service was generally friendly, but the price-performance ratio wasn't right in this case. Training is needed here.

The Bismarck sandwich and fried fish sandwich were truly delicious and reasonably priced, too. From the waiter to the manager, everyone was very friendly. It was a truly enjoyable experience for us.

The currywurst is a joke for a large portion of 22 euros, cold sauce, cold sausage complained then the same sausage was fried and came back to the table lukewarm, the sauce too. It's a shame but we won't be back.

We had an excellent meal here yesterday, so we ended up here again today. Yesterday fried fish and poultry. You had to pay an extra charge of €3 for fries, so it was left with boiled potatoes. The color and taste was strange, unfortunately not freshly prepared. At €19.50 that should be fine. Today we tried the currywurst with homemade sauce. On the table after 5 minutes! Everything except the fries was COLD, went back to normal, now it was lukewarm. Tip the normal size 1.5 sausage, large = 2 sausages. Too bad, not here anymore.

The food was very good, especially the own sauces are highly recommended. Only the tartar sauce was pretty tasteless. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. When you sit down outside, you can see that there are no tickets available and that orders take place at the counter. The ordering system with numbers and barkers is also a bit annoying and, above all, chaotic. TL:DR: Food very good, service is in your own hands

Expensive, but really good currywurst The prices are quite high, but the currywurst was really exceptional - I particularly liked the sauce. The sausage itself also tasted great. The staff was ok, nothing special but ok. If you're willing to spend a little more, you'll get a really good currywurst here.

Does it have to be that way? Why does the owner always park in a private underground car park with an absolute no-parking policy? Multiple speeches fade into nothing.
