The Fat Butcher may be a small burger and wrap joint, but don’t let its simplicity fool you - this place delivers in flavors! The tuna wrap was delicious: a warm, toasted wrap filled with crunchy lettuce, onions, sweet corn, and freshly prepared tuna. The creamy, tangy yogurt sauce, that dripped with every bite, tied it all together. The smash cheese burger was just as impressive, featuring a soft, toasted potato roll, a juicy patty, and a flavorful sauce. The curly fries were perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, and even the side salad was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Service was friendly and efficient and the prices are fair. Will definitely be back!

It was a nice place to catchup with friends and have a good smashed burger. Prices are reasonable and staffs are very friendly.

Meat, usually grilled, is the focus of the menu. Well explained by the service staff, even those who are not very familiar with the names of the individual types of meat can make the right choice. The fact that after serving, usually on a wooden board, an expert employee professionally portions the meat at the table was pleasantly new for us. The wine list proves to be extensive and well structured and anyone who orders one of the top wines should have the wine decanted - not a given at our table. Unfortunately, the seating in the inner courtyard is a bit too narrow in the outer seats. However, the atmosphere as a whole is very nice and this also applies to the inside seats. The outdoor spaces in front of the house, however, are directly on the street, which is why we understandably recommend avoiding them. If you want to follow this intention, you should ensure that you are better placed when making your reservation early. More on turtlesurf eu.

TLDR - Shake Shack meets Munich. Best burger in the city period As an American living in Munich for 4 year looking for a great burger has always been a challenge for me. Finding great flavor in a burger was impossible… till now. The search is over, I have found my new home! After the first bite I was hooked! Seriously I thought I was back in New York City in Madison Square Park eating a Shake Shack Burger. Mind you it was an up scale version cooked to perfection. The photos you see here are someone else’s order because once the burger was put in front of me, the scent made me take a bite and before I knew it, it was gone! We had the curly fries, Cole slaw and chocolate muffin. When I say everything was perfect I am not joking. Everything. You all know I am very critical on my reviews and say exactly what is on my mind, so when I tell you come here now… just go! You will not regret it!

WOW - just wow! By far the best burger in all of Munich - the sauce on the Doubel Cheeseburger is an absolute dream... and the fries are really crunchy! My wife had the Caesar salad and absolutely loved it too. There were even a few chicken strips for my daughter because she wanted nuggets and they weren't on the menu - so kid friendly too! A big compliment and here we come!

Best smashburgers in Munich! The smashburgers were simply amazing – super juicy and so delicious that we couldn’t get enough. The fries were perfect: really crispy and just to fall in love with. And the service was the icing on the cake! A big thank you to the two nice waitresses who made our evening even nicer with their warm manner. We'll definitely be back!

Would recommend the double cheese burger! Juicy, spicy and only what belongs in the burger. The atmosphere is super relaxed with good music. The team is always attentive, which makes the visit even better 🙏 You should book a place early on weekends ;)

From the burger to the fries, everything was incredibly tasty. The prices are more than fair so I can only recommend that everyone give this store a try. I'll always be happy to come back when I'm nearby.

Lovely food, cool little spot off the main road. Tasty and not too expensive for the quality. Only reason for 4 stars (and not 5) was there was fairly little meat on the wrap.

Great burger, nice service and attentive service. Second time here, and again extremely good, but really very good fries. The best I've ever eaten! However, this time the counter question was missing as to whether I would like any more sauces. But I was able to reorder as soon as it arrived, and it arrived quickly :) And maybe write somewhere that the meat is Helal. :) I wasn't really sure at first and had to ask the boss

So the double smash burgers were good, as were the fries and curly fries, but I wouldn't recommend the chicken burgers, they tasted like the standard ones, so nothing special. So only the Smashburger would eat there. The price was ok. Service was very nice and friendly.

Simply PERFECT! I can't say anything else. I was just happy after eating. Everything a 10 out of 10. Starting with the nice staff, to the drinks, and then to the main course, double cheeseburger with crispy bacon and the French fries and curly fries. “Fat Butcher” is a must if you are in Munich.

Sep 11, 2024 Hello. I ordered the double cheese burger today. Super great and very tasty beef patties. According to the nice waitress, the patties are made fresh every day and are not frozen. This is exactly what has a positive effect on the taste, texture and mouthfeel. I would have liked napkins at the table. Burgers are very good, everything is super fresh and tasty, also very well presented. The girl is super kind, spoke to us in english and made it super easy and nice.

Nicely hidden shop in the courtyard, great location away from the street without any noise. I ate the double smashburger with bacon and fries. 1A top bun and meat, went down like butter, the pickles were also amazing. Very good taste experience. Very friendly service.

I have visited the burger shop twice and was very satisfied each time. The food is extremely tasty, especially the burgers, which are freshly prepared and made with halal meat. I was really surprised at the taste today because I didn't look closely and only took the burger of the week... then I noticed that the surprisingly delicious taste came from asparagus and hollandaise sauce! My husband and I bought a voucher through Groupon. We made a reservation through the store's reservation portal. However, there was a safety conference in Munich that day and we were stuck in a traffic jam and wouldn't have arrived on time. We tried to call the store but no one answered the phone several times, the store's reservation portal offered to reschedule the appointment, which we did when we were stuck in a traffic jam for over an hour and nothing was moving forward. The store noted that the voucher had been redeemed even though we weren't there. The store doesn't respond to inquiries and Groupon is uncooperative! Be careful! Everything has now been reported to PayPal. Reply to comment: You didn't want to find a solution until today! I sent you another suggested solution, this was on March 24th, and there was never an answer.

You wouldn't think there were burgers here based on the atmosphere. There is coffee, cake etc. And mega delicious smashed burgers. The taste is really 9.5/10 Fries were also very tasty

Curry wrap was very tasty, a bit small but also ok in terms of price and perfect if you want something smaller.

Nice service, relaxed atmosphere, but it doesn't invite you to linger for a long time. Small and clear map. The food is prepared quickly and freshly - the fries are delicious, the burgers are tasty, but the toppings are rather sparse and are clearly too expensive for a price of €10 or more per burger. A burger with a side dish for €17 is a house number.

The ambience was also very nice, as it is in the courtyard, you can have a good conversation and not be disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the street. Yesterday I went to Iftar with 4 friends and we received a very friendly welcome. We were given water from the house and dates with almonds. The food was incredibly tasty and especially the fried chicken burger is in a class of its own. My tip: add extra cheese. I would recommend it to everyone, simply a 10/10 👍

I went to the FAT Butcher with a friend last week - unfortunately it was an absolute failure. Unfortunately, the burger patty was cold and the service wasn't exactly the best either. A pity.

A nice restaurant with nice employees, the smash burger was quite good, the meat to bread ratio was not in balance for us (too much bread for the meat). The curly fries absolutely killed it! We paid €27 for 2 cheeseburgers and a portion of curly fries with dip.

We drove from Gütersloh to Munich and found out from tik tok that there are good smash burgers here. We received a very warm welcome on site and it was really great service. Very nice boss who is really cool to chat with. We were very positively surprised about the burger. It was very tasty and really easy to digest. We also liked the homemade sauces. The store is really unique. We were there twice during our stay and will definitely go there again when we are nearby. Thanks to the great team

The citizens? Oh my grill! They're so juicy you could write a biblical epic about them. The first bite is like a culinary love story dancing on your tongue. 💘💥 And the sauces! They are so diverse that they could make world peace between ketchup and mayonnaise. It's like a dance of flavors in my mouth. 💃🕺 In short, Fat Butcher is where taste buds meet to rave.
