The Wiener Schnitzel, sold as an authentic and classic dish, is not recommended. There are four thick, breaded bits of meat left over on the plate. The server claims it's a "Viennese Schnitzel barrel-hall style," while the cook says it was a small veal cutlet. For €30, you get the ridiculous explanation thrown in for good measure. 👌 Thanks!

We ate at the Fasshalle today. It was absolutely delicious, everything fresh and homemade. The red cabbage with the pork knuckle was really good. The portion sizes were perfectly adequate. The atmosphere is also great. The service is top-notch, friendly, and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Of course, I'll sum it all up nicely: --- The Fasshalle in Kempten really impressed us at lunch. The ambiance is a successful blend of traditional Bavarian coziness and modern flair, making you feel at home. We had schnitzel with fries and salad – everything was delicious, the service was very friendly, and the value for money was right. As a fries fan, I could have used a few more fries, but overall, the food was decent and the price was fair. And if you'd like, you can even host private parties upstairs in the barrel-aged area. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit!

We were here with a wheelchair user. The main entrance has stairs, but after we asked, someone immediately took care of it, and we were able to access the dining room through a side entrance with an elevator. Everything was great there: plenty of space, a nice atmosphere, and great staff.

A superb location in Kempten. I believe the Fasshalle was originally built in 1925, and now it shines in new splendor. Since 2019, the service here has been excellent. The staff is very attentive. We've been to the Fasshalle several times over the years, and the food has always been excellent. From schnitzel, baked potato salad, cheese spaetzle, roast beef, and even Kaiserschmarrn—everything is absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Once again, we had an excellent meal. The onion roast beef is simply a dream. Not a traditional roast, but meat cooked to order with sensational cheese spaetzle. Large beer selection and good wines. Our waitress, Viola, did a fantastic job and served us warmly with fun and humor; thank you very much for that. Since we often visit the campsite with our motorhome, the Fasshalle is our number one choice. We've eaten our way through almost all of Kempten, but we like it here best. We keep coming back not only for the ambiance, but also for the food and the consistently excellent service. Thank you all very much.

The ambiance was truly beautiful and the atmosphere pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. We had the veal schnitzel, which, however, tasted distinctly of fish. It was probably fried in the same oil as fish, which is why the breading took on this aftertaste. For the price, we would have expected better quality and a more reasonable price-performance ratio.

The portions were huge. For three people, ordering a drink, salad, and pork leg each was more than enough. They were all delicious. The waiter was very nice and helped us split the pork leg. I give him 4 points for service.

The Fasshalle is truly a hall with great ceiling heights, yet it's still cozy. The service is prompt, the roast pork we ordered was perfect, and the baked chicken salad, along with a delicious potato salad, was simply delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough room for dessert, but we did manage to get a Prinz schnapps to help us digest. We'd love to come back (reservations are recommended, by the way)!

The food, drinks, and restaurant were all top-notch. Service was a bit lacking. Drinks were ordered quickly and arrived quickly. We were overlooked when ordering our food (others at the same table arrived later but were served earlier). Only when we asked was our food order taken into consideration. We had to ask twice to pay before someone came. Otherwise, highly recommended.

The ambiance is fantastic! Despite the high ceilings, it's not too loud; everything is very high-quality, rustic, and chic! The service is very attentive and quite fast. The food is as you would expect from a brewery: hearty, plentiful, and delicious! The price/performance ratio is perfectly reasonable, and the beer selection is great. Despite the size, we recommend making a reservation. If you're in Kempten, it's worth stopping by!

The food was different than expected. The portion was small and very fatty. The veal schnitzel consisted of five small strips.

Great selection, including both vegan and meat options. Excellent service, short wait times, and kids get a free ice cream if they solve the puzzle. Pens and a children's menu are handed out right away. We'll be back!

Very disappointing, I can't understand the positive reviews. I had a Wiener schnitzel that consisted almost entirely of breadcrumbs, which were also rather soggy. Almost €30 for that is a real outrage. The service was unfortunately neither particularly attentive nor particularly friendly. Everything felt like a mass-production operation – chart music was playing in the background, which somehow didn't fit the Allgäu ambiance at all.

Very tasty regional dishes. The Obazda (traditional pork sausage) is recommended, but the portion is enough for at least two people. The beer tasting is also recommended, as the drinks taste very different.

Highly recommended! A handmade Maultasche (swabian pasta pocket), served with sous-vide cooked pork loin, a large portion of Allgäuer Kässpatzen (snack spaetzle), and plenty of fried onions. A truly hearty dish, delicious, and absolutely great value for money. 🍽️👌 The service was friendly and quick, attentive and courteous despite the crowds. Conclusion: A restaurant with a special ambiance, delicious food, fair prices, and a great atmosphere – highly recommended and a highlight in Kempten! 🙂

The knuckle was dried out at the ends and the skin was like rubber. It was good when they first opened, but since then, the quality and service have declined. No thanks. I'm done with it, but try it yourself and write your own review.

I tried this place to try traditional local dishes. It's a nice place, and the service is excellent. Unfortunately, the food, in my opinion, wasn't to my liking. The beer is excellent, light and flavorful. Unfortunately, eating outside is plagued by flies, making it difficult to separate your food from your food and shoo them away. This, of course, is a problem beyond the restaurant's control.

After a hike in the blazing sun, I was in the barrel hall. We sat outside. My Wiener schnitzel was delicious, and the fries were homemade. I ordered a beer tasting (5 glasses of 1 cl). All the other guests around seemed happy, too, especially the family with the teenagers who were drinking apple spritzer and pretending it was beer. 😊

As guests, we would like to apologize for our presence at this establishment: unfortunately, we were on time for our reserved table, and equally unfortunately, we tried to speak politely to the waitress. Both were met with derogatory comments from two waitresses, first when we were assigned a table and then when we took our orders. I finally had enough when the meal was served: the soup was spilled onto the saucer. The waitress saw it, but she simply didn't care, so no apology. Ultimately, the remaining food was served by the two waiters across the guests' faces. It's always fun to receive warmed plates from a distance of just one meter. We were asked not to order dessert with the main course. No problem, we didn't order it at all and went somewhere else, where the staff were even nice. In the end, I would have given this place 4 stars for self-service, because the food was delicious. It was poorly presented, but it's still a brewery. However, even there, one can expect a minimum level of friendliness. In the area to our right, there was an extremely friendly and courteous waitress, so it seems it's not part of the business philosophy to treat guests in such a condescending manner.

The Fasshalle Kempten is a lovingly decorated restaurant. Three of us visited at lunchtime, were seated right away, and didn't have to wait long for our three different dishes. The food was very good, the prices were reasonable, and the service was very friendly. Overall, highly recommended!

The restaurant had the unique distinction of hosting my 50th birthday today. It was a small family gathering on a well-deserved vacation. First impressions... a Viking drinking hall from a movie. But of course, the hall certainly doesn't do justice to the impressive building. Quaint, cozy. Friendly, attentive, and thoughtful service, almost over the top. Our lady was very busy and did a fantastic job. Chapeau🎩. I hope it wasn't the stern gaze of the supervisor, who constantly kept an eye on the waiters but also helped out when things got tricky. The food: roast pork, Maultaschen (swabian dumplings), and a burger were steaming on our table after a short wait. Delicious cold drinks were also served. The incredibly delicious dessert rounded off the evening just as we were entitled to feel afterward. Chocolate cake with ice cream and nougat dumplings were responsible for that. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for the meal to celebrate my half-century.

The food tastes excellent, very authentic, and fresh. We had doughnuts with sauerkraut and veal roulades filled with mountain cheese. The service was visibly stressed, but friendly. The restaurant is very family-friendly and inviting. If we ever come to Kempten again, we'll definitely come here for dinner!

Great restaurant with a fantastic outdoor terrace. The menu is beautifully varied and regional. Both the burgers and the regional specialties like Käsespätzle and Kaiserschmarrn were excellent. We always found a free table on the terrace on three different days. Service was quick and friendly, thank you very much.

The value for money is also absolutely convincing. A particularly positive aspect: A dog-friendly brewery! In the warm weather, a water bowl was immediately brought for our four-legged friend – very thoughtful. The outdoor area is inviting, even though it's located on a busy road – which didn't bother us much, though. We'd definitely be happy to come back! 😊

Nothing special, the food took a long time, room for improvement in the service

The drinks were warm, given the 27-degree temperature outside, and the spritzer was unfortunately lacking in carbonation. We ordered the Cordon Bleu with beetroot and goat cheese, but unfortunately, we got a regular one. The food itself was edible, but more mediocre than outstanding. A shame considering the price.

Our culinary experience offered both ups and downs: The cheese spaetzle was solid, but rather unspectacular in taste, presumably made with Gouda cheese. Overall, the Fasshalle impresses above all with its atmosphere and service. Despite minor deductions for the food, I will gladly return.

We visited the Fasshalle in Kempten on June 15, 2025. We had originally reserved a table in the beer garden, but had to move indoors due to the weather. This wasn't a problem at all – we got a very nice seat in the restaurant. From the very beginning, we received a warm welcome and attentive service. The food arrived promptly and was extremely delicious. We particularly remember the extremely friendly service, who continually asked about our wishes and made the evening particularly enjoyable for us. A truly successful evening in Kempten! We would happily recommend the Fasshalle – and we'll definitely be back on our next visit to the city.

We went there three days in a row because everything was perfect for us! The quality and price are great, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service is very attentive and fast.

The four of us ate at the Fasshalle today. At my express request, my meal was to be devoid of any garnish, especially parsley, chives, and herbs. For starters, I had sweet potato soup, which came with bread croutons and "parsley." When I pointed out that I had ordered everything without greens, it was promptly replaced. However, there were no bread croutons left in it either. So, it was strained. The soup tasted exclusively of curry and had nothing to do with sweet potato. My friend ordered an Allgäu schnitzel. This was supposed to be topped with ham and mountain cheese. It was a piece of breaded meat covered in a tasteless sauce. I won't even go into the other dishes. In any case, we've been to the Fasshalle several times and have always been satisfied. Today, unfortunately, was nothing, just like the response to our complaints.

We were the only customers outside for the first 30 minutes and were served quickly and friendly. The food was delicious, the beer tasted good, and overall it was a successful visit.

Very expensive for this mini portion I think the normal portions at the expensive price are confused with senior plates or children's plates 🙄 To the owner's note: If you give the guests a decent portion right from the start, no one has to ask! Die Fasshalle ist ein modernes Brauhaus, die Küche traditionell aber trotzdem modern! Der tolle Zwiebelrostbraten war sous-vide gegart, einfach toll (und eine Riesenportion!). Der sehr gute Beilagensalat war mit 6,90 € nicht billig, aber so groß, dass wir zu zweit genug hatten. Dass das Bier lecker war, ist klar! Wir kommen gerne wieder.
