Bad service, long waiting times, half an hour waiting for cold matjes rolls that were already ready and lying on the stand at the Christmas market in Lübeck

Great restaurant with a harbor flair that I remember from my youth in the free port of Bremen. Overall, a great mix between tradition and modernity. Super nice service, excellent fish dishes. Everything from malt vinegar to tea is selected and presented with a lot of love.

I don't understand the almost 3000 good reviews! We had dinner there with 10 people. One guy didn't have sand in his salad but rather a cherry stone !!!pebble!!! where he bit on it... They forgot about another person (that can happen with 10 people and a full place) and brought him his fish 2 minutes later, which of course was still raw on the inside... The service apologized but then came back with the statement It has to be "glassy" and it belongs like that... it wasn't glassy but raw. The stone in the food was justified by saying that it was organic salad, you could have destroyed a tooth, I mean what the hell to justify that like that, what's wrong with them. With such complications and the sporty prices (baked fish €25.50, matjes €24 and portion size relatively small), I would actually have expected that a drink or dessert on the house would be given as an apology out of compensation or goodwill... unfortunately that was all that happened As mentioned above, the waiter with the cook's poor justification or his own justifications. Another time a colleague gave me a moldy lemon as a garnish. So 2 bad experiences. The food looked visually appealing, but if you consider that the salad wasn't washed and the fish was served raw... I don't suspect anything good about the quality of the fish or the quality in general Never again.

This is a seafood restaurant. The price is high but the quality of the seafood is good. The fish and chips use a pink fish fillet and are delicious. But the beets we had in another dish were a bit too salty and overpowered the flavor of the fish. The beer tastes bitter, which I don't like very much.

Everything happened so quickly... The service clearly enjoys the task, that's not the point. But the main course came so quickly after the starter that the aperitif was just as drunk. And as tasty as the “Nordwind” was, it obviously no longer goes well with Labskaus. He had trouble holding his own against the sea buckthorn spray and looked quite pale next to it. Overall it was all good in its own right. If we had been more comfortable and had been allowed to drink wine with the main course, it would certainly have been a nice evening. He was fine like that.

Die Teller waren kalt und aus diesem Grund war das Essen schneller kalt. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Toilette war überfüllt, für so viele Gäste einfach zu klein. Das Essen selber war sehr gut, Backfisch und Labskaus. Moinsener Pils, super lecker.

I really can't understand the good reviews. Either people have no idea about good food or we were unlucky with our choices. We ordered the classic and thought you couldn't go wrong with it. The fish was over-fried and under-fried. Dark on the outside and soggy on the inside, the breading didn't taste good at all. The potato salad was also tasteless. Simply potatoes with mayo. Tourist food… way too overpriced for poor quality. Very disappointing. We were looking forward to some good fish while we were here! Staff was friendly.

Wir hatten den Klassiker bestellt…Backfisch mit Pommes. Der Fisch war zu schnell und zu kurz frittiert. Außen dunkel und innen matschig!! Grausam! Die Panade hat nicht geschmeckt und der Fisch leider auch nicht…wie gesagt, leider stimmte die Konsistenz nicht. Kartoffelsalat war geschmacklos, einfach Kartoffeln mit Majo. Für diese Preise ein absoluter Reinfall. Überteuertes Altstadtessen für schlechte Qualität

Un posto molto carino lungo il canale, Backfish a perfezione e fra gli antipasti dell'ottimo caviale di storioni allevati nel mare del nord. Non in ultimo un distillato di grano degno di un'ottima Vodka per accompagnarlo. Consiglio di assaggiare un cocktail con gin e alghe marine della zona, una delizia per gli amanti del gin. Personale simpatico e professionale per fare l'ambiente. Un piccolo tip, visto che al nord mangiano prestissimo, andate dopo le 21h30 per stare più tranquilli

Because of the many good reviews, we wanted to see for ourselves the quality of the food today. The waiter was very friendly and quick. He immediately complied with our request to turn the music down a little so that we could still have a conversation. The food came super quickly. We had fried fish with rustic fries (€24.50) and herring with fried potatoes (€22.50). The catfish as a fried fish takes some getting used to because it is very juicy and soft, not to say rather mushy. I also don't like it when the brown parts aren't cut away. It's not clear to me what was supposed to be rustic about the fries. The spoonful of cucumber salad, however, was very tasty! The herring was okay. The fried potatoes were good, but not outstanding. You can only pay here with a card. The note can be found in the menu, but is that “visible” enough for everyone? Overall, the food was okay, but we definitely won't come here a second time.

Letztes Jahr durch Zufall im Ostseeurlaub entdeckt und in diesem Jahr gezielt angepeilt. Das Gesamtpaket stimmt. Stilvolles modernes Fischrestaurant in super Lage, aufmerksames und gut gelauntes Personal sowie eine Top Qualität bei den Fischgerichten. Frisch, schmackhaft und ansprechend serviert. Den 1. und 2. Backfisch meines Lebens habe ich dort gegessen. Ein Genuss. Portion ist absolut sättigend. Dazu Rote Beete Limo.

Ein sehr modernes und junges Restaurant. Das Essen ist hervorragend gelungen und sowohl eine Augenweide auf dem Teller als auch perfekt im Geschmack. Der Service ist super freundlich und nicht aufdringlich. Die Preise bewegen sich eher im gehobenen Bereich.

Der Service war wie immer hervorragend (immerhin mit Kind und 2 Hunden!) und das Essen (wie erwartet) lecker. Laut istschon im Restaurant, aber das ist vermutlich schwierig zu ändern.

We ended up here by chance because the restaurant we actually wanted to go to didn't allow dogs. A real stroke of luck! Dogs and children were very welcome. The employees were super friendly, the dog was provided with water and the child was provided with various toys. The food was absolutely great! Super fresh, very very tasty and great portions. That and the excellent service deserve more than 5 stars!

Ambiente sehr schön. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt meines Erachtens überhaupt nicht, wenn man bedenkt, dass es schräg gegenüber am hauseigenen Imbiss Fisch & Chips für circa den halben Preis gibt. Service ließ zum Ende hin nach - es wurde zwar die Karte für die Desertauswahl auf Wunsch gereicht aber niemman kam an den Tisch, um zu fragen, ob wir noch etwas wünschen. Wir mussten erst zum Tresen gehen, um auf uns aufmerksam zu machen. Das Desert selbst war auch eher mittelmäßig und hatte so gar keine Marzipannote wie der Name gat vermuten lassen. Alles in allem enttäuschend für den Preis.

Lucky move! As Berliners we are used to a lot when it comes to gastronomy but we have become very happy here! Super friendly, special requests were accommodated without any problems, fried fish, herring and dessert were consistently delicious! The blueberry iced tea was perfect!

Haben in ungezwungener Atmosphäre sehr lecker gegessen. Personal war freundlich und gut gelaunt. Zum Nachtisch wurde direkt ein Kaffee angeboten. Das Team vom Fangfrisch versteht was von seinem Job.

Recommendation from a Lübeck woman. Very good salmon fillet (I don't like salmon at all), good savoy cabbage - still crunchy - and potatoes in butter that are absolutely delicious. Peppermint tea is nothing special, but the taste is sweet. The place is nice and sober with nice details, the staff is very attentive and kind.

The ambience is really nice and there are lots of little details that are thoughtful, humorous and special. The food was served incredibly quickly even though the restaurant was full. I had the cod with pumpkin puree and thought it was excellent. The crew was in a good mood and we felt very comfortable. We would come back at any time.

Reservierung über opentable konnte kurzfristig ohne Probleme geändert werden. Fangfrisch ist allen Fischliebhabern wärmstens ans Herz zu legen. Leckere Hauptgerichte und zusätzlich eine sehr ansprechende Getränkeauswahl - stets mit nordischen Flair. Das Dessert konnte aufgrund des übervollen Magens leider nicht mehr genutzt werden, vor allem das Pflaumen-Crumble hatte einen sehr hohen Reiz. Hinweis unserer Kinder: bitte Eis in die Dessert-Karte aufnehmen 😅

Ein sehr warm eingerichtetes, hundefreundliches, maritimes Restaurant in Lübeck! Das Personal ist MEGA freundlich und immer sehr aufmerksam. Liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass am Eingang extra eine Person als Empfang immer anwesend war. Wir lieben es ganz stark, da uns diese Art zu begrüßen und an den Tisch gebracht zu werden einfach etwas strukturiertes und organisiertes hat. Wie in Frankreich. Nur, und das hat man dort des Öfteren auch gesehen, dass viele Besucher nicht den Anstand haben, solche Dinge zu sehen und sich dem anzupassen. Und wenn doch mal keiner da stand sofort jemanden zu suchen um nachzufragen, anstatt mal 1 Minute zu warten. Aber das Personal ist hoch professionell mit solchen Besuchern umgegangen. Unser bestellter Wein war sehr lecker. Da wir selten eine Vorspeise nehmen, weil es oft einfach dann zuviel wird, haben wir uns trotzdem von der Bedienung auf ein kleines „Amuse Gueule“ eingelassen. Gerade richtig, als Appetitanreger. Schwarzbrot mit einer Fischbutter. Super lecker. Die Hauptspeisen waren ebenfalls äußerst lecker. Preis / Leistung ist im guten Mittelfeld, aber man bekommt auch viel Freundlichkeit, guten Service und leckeres Essen! Geschmack ist relativ, also macht euch selbst einen Eindruck! Wir fanden es einen wunderschönen, gelungenen Abend! Danke!!!

Bratkartoffeln und Speck zu dunkel. Bratfischgericht mit Welsfleisch in sehr dicker Panade.....Beim Restaurantnamen Fangfrisch hätte ich Seefisch erwartet. Bedienungen künstlich freundlich. Soll wohl locker/modern wirken. Bei Zahlung mit Karte werden recht hohe Trinkgelder vorgegeben, die man ändern oder abwählen kann. Ist jetzt so modern, empfinde ich als sehr störend. Restaurant ist sehr voll und damit laut. Stühle hart, wie in einer Kantine. Leistung war Fischbratküche....Preis gutes Restaurant.... Würde ich nicht direkt weiterempfehlen. Leider ist mir in Lübeck Innenstadt kein anderes Fischlokal bekannt.

Can't confirm the many good reviews. Had the fried fish from the menu for lunch. The portion size was okay. The fish was relatively dark, the beer batter was partly undercooked, the portion was a large lump and overall very greasy. The "rustic" fries were standard fries. The tartar sauce was good and sufficient in quantity. Small side salad. We followed Björn Freitag's recommendation and were unfortunately disappointed. The fish weighed heavily on my stomach until the evening, and my wife still had stomach problems the next day. All of this for a pretty ambitious price.

A great restaurant and highly recommended. We were lucky that we got seats spontaneously. Warm welcome - despite the hustle and bustle - and great food. Snack starter, then matjes and plaice and at the end lovingly served espresso and the in-house KØM. It's better to make a reservation, bring a good mood and go relaxed. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll. Wir müssten 15 Minuten warten bis wir bestellen konnten. Ok. Das Restaurant war ausgebucht. Die Kochkunst der Küche war uns ein Rätsel. Den Lachs auf Wirsing mit einer üppigen Portion fettig gebratenen Speckwürfeln zu vollenden ist geschmacklich eine echte Hürde. Die Matjesheringe waren sehr gut. Aber in Fett ertränkte Kartoffeln, wieder mit Speckwürfeln, belasten den Magen. Wir sind enttäuscht von dannen gezogen…

We were there for dinner with 4 people at the weekend. Conclusion: We are disappointed and will not eat there again. Totally overpriced with no highlights. Not a culinary delight for 32 EUR per dish. And the “rustic fries” were like regular fries from a snack bar. The price-performance ratio is a disgrace. We don't understand the hype about this restaurant at all.
