Mega nice restaurant, great ambience, with attention to detail... right on the Havel. The service is quick and very friendly and caring. The food is very tasty and the price is absolutely correct. You can basically watch the cooking and baking in the bakery😍 The specially baked bread for your meal is a poem, to round off a lovely evening, you can sit in the great beer garden, sit by a fire bowl with a delicious drink... great flair 👌🏻 We'll definitely see each other again...greetings from the Sauerland from the Sauerlanders ❤️

The food was really excellent and you can taste that everything is homemade as described by the service staff. We'll definitely be back. Thanks also to the remarkably friendly staff. There was just enough food, the pork knuckle was hard as wood.

Like every year, we come to Caputh to eat at the Fährhaus once a year. Finally yesterday again!! The plaice and cod with the delicious potatoes and cucumber salad were fantastic. The great view of the lake and the super friendly service made everything a great experience. It's just wonderful here and the food is AMAZING! 10 points.

Rarely eaten so well. Creamy schnitzel and mussels. Both super tasty. Fresh mushrooms in the sauce. Plenty of mussels and fresh bread with homemade herb butter. Plus excellent service. Top Definitely 5 stars

Super tasty, really particularly good cuisine... service also very good. No reservation, you are shown to a free table or you can choose whether you want to sit inside (more or less immediately) or outside (but then with something if necessary Waiting time) The waiter keeps an eye on you and also remembers where you want to sit. She then picks you up from the waiting area (on a bench) and brings you to the table. We really liked that...

Great place to stay, either in the beautiful garden or in the restaurant. If you're lucky, you'll get a table on the veranda right by the water! (maybe it will work for us next time?) The food was delicious, we had 1x plaice and 1x trout with the tastiest potatoes you can imagine! Our waitress was so kind and convincing and we are so glad we followed her advice and got the potatoes! ❤️ We'll be back!

Super nice staff, food tastes great like a mother's, great location right at the ferry pier, small parking lot right in front of the entrance, easy entry with a wheelchair. I can only warmly recommend it. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

Great service with friendly staff who can still smile even when it's 33 degrees. This makes you feel welcome. We each ate a soup (delicious fish pot with fresh vegetables) and shared an excellent potato pancake with mushrooms. Just right and completely sufficient in sweltering heat. The prices are also reasonable.

Friendly staff and delicious food, clear recommendation

We have often been to Caputh - or the surrounding area - and we often end up in the ferry house. It's not that there aren't other options - but the Fährhaus is just a very good place to linger and eat, to people watch or to relax. Everything is comfortably furnished, the food is delicious, prices are not discussed in Berlin's suburbs and in excursion areas... But definitely affordable, everything freshly delicious, very friendly service, we will continue to come to the Fährhaus.

Great location right next to the cable ferry. We had pancakes with salmon and mushrooms. Delicious. Very friendly staff. Think about cash. The tip cannot be paid cashless or added to the restaurant bill.

Today we were guests at the Caputh ferry house with a large group of senior citizens. Not only was the ambience very nice, our waitress was magical and very friendly despite the heat and lots of visitors. Thanks! We'd love to come back.

Today we spontaneously drove to Caputh to actually explore the Himmelreich campsite. Unfortunately there was no parking there, so we ended up in this great restaurant. Super nice staff and the food was super tasty. We really had a pleasant time there.

We drove past it in the white fleet and curiously read the other reviews. Everyone is right. The service deserved more than 5 points and the food was also great. We'd love to come back

Beautiful surroundings with a great view of the cable ferry and passing steamers and boats. Large selection of dishes that are produced and prepared on site in-house. What should be highlighted is the very friendly and helpful staff. A great atmosphere that definitely invites you to come back.

A great restaurant right on the water, even without a reservation we got a seat on the terrace straight away. The sun went down for dinner, just fantastic there. The service was great, very friendly and people asked questions regularly. The food was also great, baked potatoes, fried avocado, cucumber soup and tarte flambée. Portions were sufficient and filled us well. Highly recommended.

Today we took a trip to Caputh. We took the ferry over and went to the ferry house, which looked historically inviting. We were greeted very nicely and had free choice, taking a seat in the shady garden. The drinks were served quickly. The food also came relatively quickly, which is how I like it. The food was good, but not outstanding, that's why only 4 stars. I have to say, I rarely give the full number of stars. Unfortunately, my mother's fish soup was too salty, but our complaint was dealt with very politely and a fresh soup was prepared immediately. You would have to give 6/5 points for the service if that were possible. I'm used to the fact that the service usually gets grumpy after a complaint, but that wasn't the case in the ferry house. The ambience matched the historic “Fährhaus”. Thank you very much for the positive dining experience.

The location with a view of the water was very nice, the food was tasty, although not exactly generously portioned for this price and all the staff were nice. But where the price-performance ratio is ultimately no longer right is with the drinks; 5.50 € for a 0.4 beer or the like is clearly excessive; The meaning of the word tip suddenly becomes clear to you 🤨

The Fährhaus is an exceptionally beautifully located old inn. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and in summer you don't know where to enjoy it: on the balcony directly over the water, on the covered veranda or in the garden under the shady trees? The service is friendly and attentive. In the evenings, cozy little lamps are placed on the tables.

Quite nice, but the service employee behaved really strangely. Although tables with a lake view were available, we were not allowed to have any of these tables. Justification for the service “no specific reason”. We wouldn't come back.

The ferry house was recommended to us and we are really excited, the food was great, very tasty, fresh and simply delicious. Trout and schnitzel were great. The homemade lemonade was wonderfully refreshing in the heat. The brittle ice cream sundae also fit in. We received very nice and friendly service, keep it up. We'd love to come back.

We have been guests here several times and were lucky enough to get a seat on the terrace over the water. This view, this peace and the play of light from the sun over the Caputher G'münd,...beautiful. Pure vacation for a few hours, just get out of the city. Top service! You rarely see such good staff

Like in GDR times, you stand with your legs in your stomach at the entrance and have to wait until someone is comfortable enough to take you to a table... there were several tables free and it would have been quite easy for the guests to get together choose a spot yourself instead of being yelled at because there is a sign in front of the entrance telling you to wait. No, thank you, those times were once upon a time!! We left...as did other people waiting... You probably don't have to rely on guests here!!

From a historical perspective, it's an excellent location, as the ferry has been ferrying people here since 1853. We don't know whether the restaurant has been satisfying the hungry and thirsty here for so long, but this time it also satisfied us. “Jans is really busy,” he might say if he was from the region. But as soon as we entered, we noticed how hard the staff were trying to find a solution for the five of us. And after we had already found a table The table by the window, with a view of the water and fresh air, was cleared for us after it was freed. Also the open window there, a relief, given the heat here at the beginning of August 24th... I'm sure of the quality of the food served Other reviewers have already raved... So we wish the staff, and of course the management, that this team continues to stay together and can continue to take good care of all the guests!! So also, continued good business!! 🤔😁👍

Great location and great location. The staff was as you would expect. Friendly, courteous, competent. The food was good, but not outstanding. Price-performance ratio? It's hard to say, I think I'm still missing a small tip of the knife too well. In the end, everyone has to decide for themselves.

Everything was great at the Caputh ferry house. Very friendly service, delicious food and drinks. There are many beautiful things for the palate and the eyes. You can sit in the beer garden or sit inside with an open view of the water or just downstairs in the waterfront cafe. Visually everything is well designed and I like the amount of wood. It really puts you in a good mood and exudes charm.

The Fährhaus Caputh restaurant is beautifully located on the lake and on the old ferry. We sat in the glassed-in terrace, the windows opened up to the edge of the table. The food has been good in the past, but was a disaster on the last visit. We ordered a Wiener Schnitzel and a meatloaf. The schnitzel was dry and hard to cut. A sticky breading surrounded a barely palatable piece of dry molded meat. In my opinion a very bad finished product. The meatloaf was served in a square dish and didn't seem homemade. This “roast” tasted like boiled sausage from the factory. Sorry, but raising prices significantly and lowering quality significantly is not a desired reaction to inflation. Despite the great atmosphere, we won't eat there again.

No reservation possible in advance. Wait until a table becomes available. Went again. It's great when you can do whatever you want as a restaurateur and the place is still always full. As is often the case with locations with a unique location.

Simply great, food and service great

I was very positively surprised! The personnel is very friendly and courteous. I have two food intolerances (gluten, lactose) and was able to find something on the menu. One evening there was pike perch fillet with boiled potatoes and cucumber salad and the second evening salmon fillet with fried potatoes and cucumber salad. The fish is breaded in cornmeal. It's a dream. Many many thanks.

We ended up here at the ferry house on a week-long trip. We were greeted friendly and courteous by service and given a table on the terrace. The menu had something for every taste, whether meat, fish or vegetarian. We opted for the seasoned meat (for a small appetite) and the turkey liver with mashed potatoes. Everything was attractively prepared and tasted very good - except for the mashed potatoes. Overall, a pretty harmonious visit.

I found it disappointing and a bit cheeky that the tea for €3.50 wasn't even fresh, just a tea bag from a teapot. The Emden fried herring was very tasty, but I thought it would be served warm and not cold. If someone had pointed that out to me, I would have chosen something else.

Food is good and service is okay, the ferry house is interestingly located on the ferry, you just have to put up with the queue on the street! But the prices are beyond the scope and therefore points are deducted!

A great place to sit on the terrace. The waiters are very attentive and very quick. Maybe we'll eat somewhere else next time. Unfortunately the plaice was only cooked through on one side, otherwise it was really good. The potatoes served in roux take some getting used to at best. The cucumber salad was completely fine. The beef roulade tasted much better than it looked. In fact, I liked them. It wasn't too mustardy for me. However, the watery red cabbage served with it and the ready-made sauce in which the roulade was swimming were not good at all. - Too bad.

Very friendly and patient service who remained calm despite the many guests. The food (zander fillet and herring fillet) were excellent! Atmosphere in the old hall was great and everything was very clean.

The food tastes very good. However, in my opinion, people go here more for the service and especially for the ambience. The food tastes delicious, but is also expensive. Nevertheless, I can recommend the restaurant, especially for special occasions 👍
