Great location on the Elbe, friendly service and with a direct playground and large orchard next door

The Fährgarten always shines with its great location and delicious food! Prices have now gone up a bit here too, but all in all that's understandable and reasonable. There were even live broadcasts here for the European Championships

Sorry, you've been a guest there for a long time but the quality of the service has deteriorated a lot but the prices have risen significantly. €36 for 4 400ml Fasbrausen and 1x 400ml Cola from the bottle without spray and lukewarm as well as 1 bottle of Radler are already steep from the unfriendly older cashier to remain silent

Nice excursion restaurant right on the Elbe. Plenty of tables and seats even for larger groups. Food freshly prepared. Beer (and) soda cold. Prices moderate. Friendly service. Top

The beer was delicious. Feel free to sell over a quarter with foam.

The beer poured ends two fingers below the calibration mark. And the impossible servant actually explains: “foam is beer too”. This is fundamentally correct, but very wrong in the catering industry. At least there was the rest of the glass from the stale remaining beer from the tap that was poured onto it. The next day we decided on bottled beer. You have to spend a lot of time at the drinks counter and have a lot of fun. The food is completely ok for a beer garden but not cheap. The lady at the local desk was very friendly.

The food was simple but good (self-service) it was great to linger right on the Elbe, there was a lovely beer garden.

A nice location and cozy beer garden or seating. Unfortunately, when we ate we were given warmed up mash/fried potatoes and we were treated rather unfriendly at the checkout. At least down at the grill. It is recommended for comfortable sitting.

Sitting by the water in the sunshine, under large umbrellas on the green banks of the Elbe... What could go wrong? Nothing with us. Food good, selection of drinks good, toilets decent...

Very nice atmosphere located directly on the Elbe. There are plenty of places and you can also use the lawn right in front to sit. The prices are already steep but everyone wants to survive. If you go on a bike trip on the Elbe, stopping there is highly recommended.

Unsalted fries plus small bowl = €5 Yes, the Fährgarten has to live on something. But a little salt or nice faces (without rolling your eyes if you want to order something during the live performance) should work

A very popular beer garden. Here you can still get delicacies from the grill even after 11 p.m. during the season. But the prices are a bit ambitious. The staff exudes a good mood.

Fast food - chips with mayo or ketchup, and a sausage-in-a-bun type of place. So nothing fancy, but clean, quick to serve, and all done cheerfully. Lots of locals but still did not feel overly full, even on a nice day. Lots to watch on the river whilst sipping on good beers , and of course a very easy stroll from the ferry.

Haven't been there for a long time. But again this week at the beginning of August 2024. Went on a dinghy and there was a meeting and exit. The food is rustic (currywurst/fries, tarte flambée, etc.), prices are relatively hearty (e.g. currywurst fries €11.90), but there is also beer and shandy (half a liter around €5). It was still nice, just great on the Elbe to end the day.

Nice corner right on the Elbe. Heart, what more could you want? Best reached by bike.

No parking, no table service, food overpriced. Only a few tables have a good view. When it rains you get wet even under the umbrellas. The operators don't like guests

The prices here are underground. A not quite full beer 0.4! is sold for 4.50 euros, which makes 11.25 euros per measure and 5.63 euros for half a liter. And that’s self-service! Conclusion: Puller, profit is what counts here, even when there is a lot of hype or a flea market character. Incredibly outrageous.

Unfortunately I have to correct my previous review... I had to complain again. Drinks are way below standard, staff is unfriendly and prices have risen enormously. Everything is getting more expensive, but that's where I expect very good service! We always loved being here, but not anymore from today - it's a shame!

Great place to stay, alone, with family or friends. No matter, it's great here. Eat, drink whatever you want. The service is very nice. Neatly kept facility for everyone to feel comfortable. Simply a great place in Dresden. Right now I recommend the Ice Cappuccino, very tasty made with soft ice cream.

Here you can look for steamers with a cool blonde or a cup of coffee with delicious cake. Highly recommended! Also for cyclists.

We have been regular guests here for years, mainly in the summer because of the lovely atmosphere. But that will probably be it now...since the price-performance ratio is absolutely no longer right. I think the prices for a beer garden are slowly going up here. Especially with comparisons to the previous year... You can clearly see it in older recisions from a few months ago. Now a Radeberger 0.4l €4.90...Bratwurst €4.90...French fries ketchup (papy) €5.50...and it's in a beer garden with a queue. Every beer filled under the calibration mark... So in a restaurant with service I sometimes pay the same price or even less. I'm very disappointed and will probably look for another beer garden location. It's a shame...but I don't think it's a good idea to use power to make up for the past time. Especially not at the expense of the guest...

Have been to the Fähgarten several times. The atmosphere is always very nice on the Elbe. But the prices are slowly increasing for a self-service beer garden. A portion of fries €5.50, bratwurst €4.90, pizza coarse €14 and tarte flambée €12 etc. And to be honest, the bratwurst wasn't that great. Food and drinks go quickly at the beer cart downstairs, and at the entrance you queue for 30 minutes for a portion of sweet potatoes for €6.40. When I said as a small token of attention that my beer was now warm, I was told that they had brought it here. Sorry, but that was the last straw. Organized chaos reigns there. The only thing that goes well there is the drinks. Have a beer 🍺 OK. But we definitely won't be eating here anymore. It's a shame that everything turned out this way 😪.

Price-performance simply doesn't fit. I wouldn't go there again.

I visit here once a week in the summer on my bike tour to sip a Pale Ale Red Ale, and recently a Maibock - great atmosphere. I decided on the spur of the moment to watch the European Championship quarter-final between Germany and Spain: big praise for the team, from tickets to organization and resilience. You've got it under control - hats off...

“We broadcast every European Championship game” and then in the middle of the Portugal vs. France tournament the plug is pulled without notice and the television is taken away because you want to call it a day… We haven't experienced anything like that before. Staff is super nice and quick, food and drinks are also good, although quite expensive.

Watching the ferry and steamer is great for the kids. Unfortunately, the staff always seemed extremely stressed, even though not even a third of the seats were occupied.

The Fährgarten is ideally located on the Elbe cycle path and I stop here occasionally. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and sit. Sometimes it takes a little longer at the self-service counter and you end up almost standing on the bike path and have to be careful not to get knocked over;-)) The selection of food is plentiful for small and large appetites. Unfortunately, so do the prices. There is a deduction for me. For a portion of braised vegetables and steak you pay €18, although the price of the steak at over €8 is, in my opinion, very cheeky. Otherwise, the vegetables were freshly warmed up again in the pan and tasted good too. All in all, you can relax very well in the beer garden near Elb. If you like it more cozy and romantic, this busy location is not the best choice. We'd love to come back

Public viewing not recommended!!! Waiters like sleeping pills... Waiting time for drinks at least 30 minutes, if not longer. Just go somewhere else.

Nice place on the water for a nice meal and drink. After we were chased away from the outdoor bar by an ill-mannered man when we thought we could order there, but apparently were ten minutes early, we ordered currywurst with fries from the friendly staff across the street. The food was mediocre.

The location on the Elbe is very nice, but with free parking it is rather difficult. You have to order and pick up your own food and drinks. However, it is cleared away by an employee. There are wooden tables and wooden chairs or beer table sets. The selection of food and drinks is good, but not necessarily cheap. Especially since many dishes are “quick meals”.

Were there by chance, the food was great, there was plenty of food and drinks on offer, the prices were ok. 👍

The prices are simply too high. €4.50 for a bottle of beer is too much. Maximum €3.50. Freshly tapped would be borderline, but you have to spend a lot of time washing the glass, tapping, etc. I'm really wavering between 2 and 3 stars.

Went there spontaneously to give the child some fresh air and exercise. Food was good, drink prices were reasonable, ambience was excellent. Sitting comfortably, watching ships and boats on the Elbe, experiencing friendly staff... all of this can be done in a relaxed manner in the Fährgarten.

Beautiful beer garden with a wide range of drinks, charcoal grill/food and cakes right on the Elbe cycle path. Just the thing for a break.

Dear management, We went for a walk along the Elbe and came to the Johannstadt ferry garden. We decided to have a little something to eat and chose Thuringian Rostbratwurst in a roll, even though the price of 4.90 euros is very sporty. But the rude awakening came first. The three men at the grill, where only one had a small plan, seemed completely overwhelmed. After a while we finally got the three Thuringian grilled sausages, even though we were the only ones at the grill. There was great joy but unfortunately it continues. The Thuringian Rostbratwurst in a bun completely covered with mustard. But probably only because you are distracted by the two or three day old roll and the COLD grilled sausage. Unfortunately the first time and the last time, pure rip-off.

Rip off!!!!!!! €4.90 for 0.4 beers!!! That's €6.12 for half a liter!!! Outrageous!!!!

We like to go to the beer garden... but today it wasn't good at all... Currywurst with fries, 1 grilled sausage with a roll (the roll wasn't fresh) and a dark beer cost €21... that Currywurst didn't taste good at all, the fries tasted old......so it's definitely not worth the money,...the staff could have been a bit friendlier......very, very sad.... ...

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Dresden. You sit directly on the Elbe and can watch the excursion steamers go by while you chill out. The open grill, which also sells directly, is always well stocked and tasty. What sets this beer garden apart is that you can pay by card.

Not a bad beer garden, good choice of meat dishes and beer, also for vegans there are baked vegetables. There are desserts and lemonades for children. On the banks of the Elbe, you can buy beer and snacks and sit on the grass and enjoy the view. In the evening beautifully lighted garlands.

The ferry garden invites you to linger in many areas. The selection of drinks and food is extensive and alternative. We can definitely talk about some of the prices...But the choice is up to each person. If the weather is good, it's definitely a place to sit down and enjoy.

So a self-service bottled beer was almost 5€, glass was available upon request, there are better and cheaper ones, not only in Bavaria but also in Dresden. The ambience on the Elbe is of course very nice. Due to the price/performance/service, stopping by bike is actually not worth it.

In Summer time the grill near the river is used. In winter food is cooked in the kitchen. It's always nice there, having a beer, some food and craic while looking at the Elbe meadow and the river with the ferry crossing

It has subsided a little. The portions of the food and the quality have deteriorated. The prices have increased. Still, it's a nice place to relax and enjoy a beer.
