The food looks nice, but that's where it ends. Overcooked noodles, hard panna cotta, bland tiramisu. You can eat much better elsewhere for the money. The best part was the coffee and the macaron, which is sad in itself. At least the service was friendly. Personally, I won't come here again.

Actually a nice restaurant, stylish and elegant. But the reception is anything but welcoming, unfriendly and unwelcoming; I had to repeat my name three times. The waiter was then nice. The pasta with the funny name Black in Black was disappointing, tasteless, immediately cold and the sauce was too pasta-watery.

I had the pleasure of visiting Essenza at Potsdamer Platz and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I entered the restaurant I was surrounded by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Italian flair is simply enchanting! The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Italian dishes. The appetizers were also a highlight, especially the burrata, which was fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and had great recommendations. It felt like eating at friends' houses. I would recommend Essenza to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy setting. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The service is perfect from the greeting to the farewell, the menu reads quickly - but at least I would have liked every dish. Everything we do - quickly! - was served was first class, of excellent quality but also prepared and presented with love for cooking, which can be seen in details, for example in the quality of the veal in the obligatory Vitello Donato or in the 100% perfect degree of cooking of the incredibly delicious homemade pasta. A special highlight is the wine list; connoisseurs enjoy just reading it and get excited by some of the rarities. Clearly someone knows the subject at an amazing level! The only point of criticism - and the restaurant can't even do anything about it! - is the architectural framework. Due to the floor plan, you sit somewhat cramped in what is certainly an attractive acute angle of a typical Potsdamer Platz Tower when viewed from the outside. But even that was made the best possible. The audience seemed to me to be predominantly local or, as in my case, local with non-local accompaniment. Conclusion: definitely recommended!

Hello, In January of this year I visited essenza at Potsdamer Platz with a nice companion. I had previously reserved the table and my wishes were promptly confirmed by email. The welcome was friendly, the service was excellent, and the advice regarding both the food and the wine recommendations was qualified. As a starter I chose the Tartare di manzo su pan brioche, which I really enjoyed because of its sophisticated preparation. The main course was the Filetto di manzo affumicato con erbette verdi, which was very tender, served cooked exactly how I wanted it and was also a taste experience. My companion also described the Trancio di tonno Sushi al pepe verde as cooked to perfection and very tasty. The dessert, mousse di cioccolato nero di Modica, was in no way inferior to the other two courses. In summary, I can only recommend essenza at Potsdamer Platz and will certainly visit it again. I went to this restaurant with a friend. We ordered spaghetti which was very spicy. I didn't like that the waiter and the girl at the bar were gossiping. I saw it. I can't recommend it. It was January 25th. /2025 (+- 10:00 p.m.)

Seltsam, dass ich dieses Restaurant am Potsdamer Platz bisher nicht wirklich wahrgenommen hatte. Wie auch immer, das wird fortan nicht mehr passieren. Bei italienischen Restaurants wird gerne von einem "Edel Italiener" gesprochen, schon wenn keine Pizza auf der Karte steht. Das Grundkriterium ist hier also erfüllt, nur geht es hier viel weiter. Als Vorspeisen wählten wir Parmesanbällchen (eher -ball) und ein Caprese. Beides war ein außerordentlich gelungener Auftakt. Die Fleischgerichte Manzo Cafe de Paris und Entrecote waren in der Qualität und Verarbeitung herausragend. Alleine dafür komme ich wieder. Nachdem die Hotelküchen in den angrenzenden Hotels Ritz-Carlton und Hyatt zumindest nicht herausragend, zumindest aber konzeptionell ganz anders sind, kann man das diesen Hotelgästen nur wärmstens empfehlen. Dass die Sache nicht ganz billig ist versteht sich von selbst (Hauptgerichte rund € 40). Die Weinpreise gehen schnell in schwindelnde Höhen, es gibt aber auch angemessene Alternativen.

Wir waren überwältigt, schon der nette Empfang, die tolle Einrichtung und das wirklich italienische Essen. Das war wirklich italienische Küche, hab noch nie so lecker gegessen.

The food was undercooked and had little taste. That was the case with me and my companions. The service was also rather unfriendly and started removing balsamic and other condiments from our table during the meal. Everything seems loveless and rushed. The restorant itself is quite nice. But service and especially the food was very disappointing.

We came across this restaurant right in the center of Postdamer Platz by chance, but I must say fabulous experience. Very good and unique Italian dishes, delicious wines and we were also served by a very good and friendly waiter who paid attention to every detail (S). It was a wonderful evening in a very elegant location. I recommend their first pasta cacio e pepe with tuna tartare and drops of gin, but honestly everything is delicious from the appetizers to the meat to the dessert! Also worth trying is their olive oil liqueur!

El trato recibido ha sido magnífico. Muy profesional. Fuimos a comer un grupo de 9 personas a las 3:15h de la tarde y nos atendieron de lujo. El carpaccio riquísimo, las pizzas y la pasta también. Además una de las personas es celíaca y le prepararon varios platos especiales para ella. Muy bien decorado , baños muy limpios. Merece la pena si se está por mitte leipziger strasse.

Unfortunately, the director of the restaurant was very unfriendly and didn't seem to know how to deal with customers. The food was good, but definitely overpriced. Looking at the menu or the fancy atmosphere, it would be easy to think that the dishes on offer are particularly sophisticated, but in reality it is mostly a facade. For example, the burrata suddenly costs €19 because a rather simple, uninteresting basil sauce was added. The bagna cauda, ​​which was supposed to be an umami-rich emulsion with a strong base of garlic and anchovies, tasted more like milk! How can you even call this bagna cauda? I'm sure someone from Piedmont would have some concerns about this. Unfortunately, the house wine wasn't impressive either. I would advise not to be fooled by a good first impression.

Samen met mijn vriendin hier gegeten. Het eten was redelijk, echter wel kleine porties en niet veel bijzonders. Het eten stond met 10min op tafel. Wat ook niet echt gezellig was. Voor wat je betaalt hier hadden wij echt wel andere verwachtingen. Erg jammer. Wij komen hier niet meer….

Afrader wat ons betreft… voor de prijzen van het restaurant mag je ook wel wat verwachten, echter kregen we beide een klein karig bord pasta waar we wel 24 euro p.p. voor moesten betalen en een wijntje 12 eu per glas. Daarnaast werkte de bediening naar ons inziens niet hygiënisch.. zo was er een dame met een smerige doorbloede pleister om haar vinger waarmee ze ons serveerde de hele avond. Een heer van de bediening, die ons het eten bracht, had net daarvoor (denken we) een sigaret gerookt waardoor hij rook naar sigarettenrook en dit dan ook zeker geen aantrekkelijke geur is als je net je eten krijgt geserveerd… flinke afknapper dus. Erg jammer dat er ook niet aan je gevraagd wordt of het eten heeft gesmaakt of dat tussendoor alles naar wens is.. erg jammer! Wij komen niet weer!

The ambience is a 10/10, elegant, clean, classic. Personally, the Salsiccia didn't convince me, it was too cold and a bit bland. My husband had the beef fillet, very good but probably expected for 42 euros. Portions are rather small but we knew that beforehand. Anyone who likes to eat expensive and fancy food is aware of the prices, but I expect at least friendly service from a restaurant of this class. Our waiter was more than arrogant and “smiled” at our wishes. My brother would like an Italian pizza, but this was denied in a way that was really impossible for me. Something like that can simply be expressed in a more friendly way to a young person. Since we know “real” Italian cuisine (Italians in the family) we ordered the meat “done”. This was also cheekily commented on in a humorous manner. If I spend 42 euros on it, do I want what I order and not be pointed out in an unfriendly way? In any case, the meat came to our table in a European pink color 😅 oh well. Waiter was as described, reception too. There's definitely better

We are regular guests at this restaurant and were particularly enthusiastic about the food this time. Fillet medium rare fried to perfection and the prawns were beautifully translucent. The vegetables were finally seasoned. The waiter explained to us that there is a new chef. Compliments keep it up. Unfortunately, the ravioli was just so-so and so was the service. But the ambience and the good main courses made the evening a nice end to the day. We will definitely be back and can recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Das Restaurant stellt äusserlich viel dar. Der Service ist sehr gut, das Essen jedoch scheusslich. Wir haben Tagliatelle mit schwarzem Trüffel gegessen, resp. nicht gegessen. Die Teigwaren schwammen in einer Sauce, die nach nichts schmeckte, grauenhaft. Wir haben einen guten Wein bestellt. Dieser wurde viel zu warm serviert, also auch so gelagert. Man stelle sich vor, man hätte einen Tignanello bestellt.

We had a very nice evening with unusual food. The prices are a little higher and the portions are a little smaller, but we were both full. First there was bread with a cream cheese cream or olive oil. The store has a large selection of wines and we were well advised. The dishes were very tasty and unusual: I) Cacio e pepe covered with a kind of rice cake, with tuna and the whole thing was sprayed with gin; II) Tortelli filled with osso buco and a parsley sauce with burrata. The dessert was also very good. Everything was really delicious and the prices were reasonable considering the quality (and the location on Potsdamer Platz). The store is by no means a tourist trap. We will certainly come back.

Very central location on Potsdamerplatz. Super busy area on both sides of the restaurant. Pretty nice restaurant, but aircondition must be better. Way to warm inside. Service was average. Not very easy to get in contact with the waiters even it was few tables. Food menu are very different then most italian restaurants serves. I miss more classics both on starters & pasta dishes. Caprese was totally fluid & not to my taste. Spaghetti with pecorino & pepper was better. But less pepper & more cheese would be better. Not a place i will return to.

After a nice shopping trip and a visit to Potsdamer Platz, we were hungry. The restaurant has already invited people from outside. We were happy that there were still seats available outside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the food was just awesome. It's a little more expensive, but you get a lot for it. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Sehr angenehmes und recht vornehmes Restaurant mit freundlicher Bedienung. Schöne Auswahl auf der Karte und sehr ansprechende Weine auch im Offenausschank . Die Vorspeise (Pulpo) hat begeistert, die Lasagne zum Hauptgang hat dann aber alles ruiniert. Ein Riesenberg Pasta (sorry, aber zu viel ist zu viel) ertränkt in Bechamelsauce und exekutiert mit Fior di Latte. Schade, wäre doch so nett gewesen !

With each bite of the steak with vegetables in pesto sauce I felt like I was in a dream. Excellent service from the waiter. Only one thing bothered me: as soon as we entered, the Hostess asked if we had checked the price on the menu outside, after which she took us to a joint table with two other gentlemen and I asked if I could sit at the table next to 4 seats that it was empty (the restaurant was empty) and he said no because there weren't 4 of us. If I wasn't very hungry and tired, I would certainly leave.

My husband and I were staying in a nearby hotel and came across the outdoor seating on an unusually warm evening. The food was so beautifully prepared and presented. The caprese appetizer was amazing and the tartare delicious. Our fine waiter recommended a reasonably priced wine option (Doppio Passo) and, after an afternoon of drinking large beers, this red wine option was smooth and tasty. Thank you for a memorable dinner in your vibrant city!

Som kresen og matglad gjest kan jeg trygt anbefale denne restauranten! Ikke blant de billigste, men verdt hver krone. Topp service, utrolig gode smaker, viner for en hver smak. Både kjøtt, pasta og dessertrettene var av ypperste kvalitet med smaker og presentasjon. Her skal vi garanterer tilbake.

Schon beim Eintreten fühlten wir uns sehr wohl und der erste Eindruck bestätigte sich deutlich. Das Servicepersonal war überaus aufmerksam und freundlich, es beriet uns mit hoher Kompetenz bei Fragen. Die Weinkarte ist in ihrer Auswahl und der Qualität kaum zu toppen! Die Speisen waren durchweg einfach nur unglaublich schmackhaft! Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Essenza und möchten uns bei Signore Michele und seinem Team bedanken! Excellent food in every respect in a pleasant atmosphere. Service was very friendly, even if the drinks could be replenished a little quicker. Unfortunately very loud - and very overheated.

Food was decent, but seating was very uncomfortable. The restaurant is very loud and there’s not much space in between tables. The tuna was great, and the pasta dishes were also very good. The staff were generally quite impatient with customers and unhelpful. It is one of those places with superb food, so the staff really don’t care about the quality of their service, which is a shame…

Cosy and nice Italian Restaurant…. Started with Crunchy Parmesan sphere on Culatello Raw Parma Ham followed by Ossabuco Tortellini with Beef Tartare and Burrata Cream. Washed down with a large glass of Chianti (well…:Wouldn’t be Italian without Chianti) Great and authentic Italian restaurant. Brilliant and attentive service.
