A lovely place—except for just before the semester break, when even amateurs discover caffeinated drinks for themselves.

I was in the café recently and witnessed the owner/waitress treating a customer quite rudely and harshly. The situation was unpleasant to witness—it made you feel immediately out of place.

During my studies, I regularly got my coffee from this café for a long time. The owner's behavior on my last visit was all the more disappointing: unprofessional, rude, and with a clear xenophobic undertone. Respectful treatment of guests should be a given – here, the opposite was the case. I felt neither welcome nor treated fairly. One thing is clear: I will not return to this café and cannot recommend it to anyone who values ​​hospitality and decency.

Sour coffee…disappointing. I might have been there on their bad day as other comments say that the quality is not consistent.

I come here often because the espresso is actually really good—when it's made well. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Sometimes I pay, but I can't drink it because it tastes too sour or burnt... I don't know what to say, and to be honest, I'm a little embarrassed. It's not the coffee itself—it's top-notch—but the person making it. If you find the right person, you can really get one of the best espressos anywhere.

Very good coffee and I love the concept that it's not a typical German cafe where you get a coffee and cake and then sit there for hours, but it feels more like you're in an espresso bar in Italy. P.S. But please clean your steam wand immediately after frothing, as this thick layer of solidified milk is extremely difficult to get off

Nice atmosphere and good value for the price of coffee. However, the service quality and general politeness towards customers — especially international ones — can sometimes be lacking. This is particularly true if you are served by a specific employee who tends to be confrontational if you don’t meet her expectations. So please be advised.

The taste of the espresso is very good. It is cozy little coffee shop and it designed for short stays. Sometimes on Saturdays you can not get the same quality of espresso as over the week, because some inexperienced employees covered on weekends. It is understandable, to be on the save side you can order cappuccino.

I stay in Jena every month for a week, and I always frequented Rossi as a loyal customer. Even this morning, I had a cappuccino there. However, this afternoon, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with female barista - i will not be returning to this place in the future and absolutely do not recommend it. While walking with my mom, we passed by a Mc Cafe, where I decided to order a milkshake for myself. When I asked mom if she would like something, she requested an espresso. I suggested we visit Rossi nearby instead to buy coffee in Mac. We entered the espresso bar, with me holding my milkshake, and ordered an espresso for my mom. Only after we got a cup of coffee, barista somehow aggressively told that we couldn't stay inside with my milkshake. Ok. We complied and moved outdoors, where we stood next to the café so my mom could finish her espresso. However, barista followed us outside and began to argue that we couldn't even be there because I had something from McDonald's. This confrontation was unexpected and unwarranted. We had come for a good coffee experience, but instead, we were met with nothing but rude behavior and had to run away from yelling barista. It was offensive conflict for no sense, at least she could be calm or explain to us that we cant be served while having other products BEFORE she gave us a cup. This incident has deeply disappointed me, especially as a loyal customer. Also i feel very sorry for my mom to see this creepy situation

I would love to give more than five stars, but unfortunately that's not possible. First-class coffee, delicious croissants and lovely staff. I was most impressed by the young, good-looking man in the Carhartt outfits. I'm in love <3 Mwah

Not recommended at all! But particularly for migrants/international people. One particular female employee who works there is very rude,(I knew this before she is generally rude to all clients). But this time my handy just didn't work for the first touch which can happen with anyone and she got panic like I was running away without paying and initiated very aggressive dialog and what, i have been coming to this place for years!!! She knows my face!.. Lack of communication, customer-friendly service plus lack of any common sense.

Öffnet morgens mit Freundlichkeit und besten Kaffees die Augen und um 7.30 auch die Türen. Klein, fein und sehr zu empfehlen.

Der Kaffee ist ein Gaumenschmaus! Ganz, ganz toll.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre und super nette Miarbeiterin. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt.

Bin gerne für einen Espresso hier. Der hat ne feine Crema und mit bisl Zucker ist das wie ne kleine Praline 😁. Mitarbeiter sind stets bemüht und gelegentlich steht der Espresso schon da bevor ich was gesagt habe. ✌🏻 I'll be back

Fancy schmancy Espresso - jederzeit gerne wieder

Eine sehr gute Alternative in Jena für einen ordentlichen Kaffee/Cappuccino/etc.. Die Preise sind günstiger im Vergleich zu anderen Cafés und wird daher sehr gerne von Studenten genutzt. Hier gibt es Stempelkarten, d. h. das 10te Getränk geht dann aufs Haus.

Freundliches Personal, angemessene Preise, vegane Optionen ohne Aufpreis(!!) Klein aber fein mit einer kleinen Auswahl an Kuchen und auch Limos wie ClubMate und Biozisch. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen:)

Für ne Espresso-Bar war der Espresso nur mäßig. Viel zu bitter meiner Meinung nach. Der Kaffee war dafür aber ok und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.
