Food was very simple. Both the schnitzel and the I had strudel seemed to have been warmed up from frozen. Service was OK.

Tasteless food and quite the tourist trap. They also pretend they can’t accept cards and you need to pay cash, you will need to insist for card payment. Also they said tips are “mandatory”, which is not true in germany.

Very atmospheric, quite nostalgic in a good way with top quality service and food.

Nice surprise! We really enjoyed our stay at Ephraims. You can get all the classics from German cuisine and the prices are reasonable. Were served quickly by friendly people and sat right by the water. What more could you want!

The meal was good (sausages on a bed of sauerkraut). The apfelstrudel was excellent. The service is long and be careful they do not take credit cards.

Excellent place for dinner, on the banks of the river in front of the museum island, the food was great, the dishes were well served and very delicious and the waiters were very careful with the tourists. A place to recommend, surely when we return to Berlin we will stop by there.

Nice wiew and the food was ok. Unfortunately the service was terrible. One person (a child) had to wait for her food for almost 45 minutes longer than the rest of us. During this time the waitors avoided eye contact with us and we didn't even get an apology. Wouldn't recommend it.

Having received this excellent advice from friends, I feel obliged to do the same by proposing this experience which is satisfying from every point of view. If you are in Berlin it is worth a visit

The service was excellent. Staff are very accommodating towards English folk. I had the pork knuckle which was very very tender. My girlfriend had the aubergine which was also very good and light.

Ok food, but not great. Staff and service was atrociously bad. Not all of us got any food and we had to remind the staff multiple times over 30 minutes before we finally got what we originally ordered. Would never visit again.

My wife, friends and I wanted a meal alongside the River Spree in Berlin and saw positive reviews on Ephraims. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The meals were nice. It was good value for money too.

The service is not very attentive, the table was not cleaned, a full and smelly ashtray was left at the table. The food is nothing exceptional.

Uber traditional german restaurant in a very historic building with an incredible past. Very meat heavy menu as to be expected but we found two delicious vegetarian meals nonetheless. Staff very helpful and overall very nice experience. Would return for the swabian pasta!!!

the staff worked very well, especially the waitress Irina, but the kitchen made us very sad. The schnitzel was the epitome of fatty butter, it looked like it had been soaking in a deep fryer for years, I must have eaten a year's worth of calories, my gallbladder immediately started to feel hurt, I only got over it a few months ago. In general, I had to fight for my life because of this schnitzel, but I liked the strudel. The only consolation was the way the waiters served me; it became the last obstacle to not spoil the evening. So, I came away with strange feelings and I tripped over the trap door.

Real authentic German food. Went there because a friend was visiting and wanted to experience traditional German cuisine. So there we were, in the most German looking restaurant, with the most German tasting food. Coming from a place where German food was often regarded as bland and boring I was pretty surprised to discover it’s not really the case! I mean, not a huge fan of boiled or steamed food so I guess I wasn’t going to be a big fan of it anyways but it’s some of the nicest boiled potato and steamed fish I’ve tried. Also the decor and the service were perfect. Thanks!

Excellent place, the best I went to in Berlin. The food is well presented, in exact portions, (not super abundant that you can't finish them nor that they look like samples) the place looks like an old house next to the river, the waiter is always attentive without being on top of you, I don't speak German or English and He was not Spanish either, however he made every effort to understand me and give me a good experience, and I found the prices very good since in other places they are much higher and with lower quality in attention, service and gastronomy. I would go back without thinking

We Berliners were finally here and were able to get a nice spot by the water among all the tourists. We were served quickly and friendly, and the food came quickly despite the large number of guests. Our schnitzels were freshly prepared and delicious. The prices are absolutely fair, even for the drinks. Will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, the food didn't taste good at all, you had the feeling that the dishes were ready (like in the supermarket). We would have expected a little more for the price. The waiters were friendly, the location was fine too.

Authentic restaurant on the Spree. When the weather is nice you can sit on the outdoor terrace. Real German, Berlin dishes that tasted very good to us. Contrary to what I often read in the reviews, we were able to pay by card without any problems, so not in cash. Very acceptable prices.

We took shelter from the rain that day and were served quickly. I recommend the local fish and lamb. Very atmospheric inside and the flowing river attracts everyone like a magnet. I highly recommend it.

We had a group reservation and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I would like to mention an outstanding service. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and managed very well. We had a memorable event which wouldn't be possible without a full commitment of the restaurant team that day. We are very grateful for your hospitality. The food is traditional German. All the dishes were delicious. Even better if the wine card offering would have been much wider. Currently it's very limited and basic.

I can highly recommend treating yourself to a drink on the Spree, service very slow and inattentive and unfortunately the food didn't live up to my expectations. The fried potatoes were good, but the schnitzel was not pounded and out of the deep fryer. I might come back for a coffee but not for food.

I booked this place as a date night idea. I had the schnitzel and we shared the stuffed eggplant and pickles and Schmalz. We waited roughly 50-60 minutes before our food came, but we were in a nice location on the Spree so I tried to stay positive. When our food did come it was a bit disappointing. The schnitzel was a little bigger than the palm of my hand and about 1cm thick. It looked like it came from the frozen section at Edeka. The roasted potatoes were delicious. But while eating the salad i noticed crunches of dirt, like it wasn’t fully washed. Then I ordered the Apfelstrudel with Icecream and it was tough, like it had been microwaved too long. Vomiting is the worst thing in the word for me and that night I vomited. It was extremely painful. Never going back here again.

Asparagus soup that is way too salty. After that, food that is half cold cannot be eaten. Too few staff, they themselves admit. But they don't provide a solution for the cold food. Then they ask you can pay in cash while everyone else pays by card. So in short, don't eat there, your food will be heated up and they provide no service at all

Very nice place, quality German cuisine for a very reasonable price

I highly recommend this establishment. We went on a Tuesday evening around 6.30 and didn't have trouble getting a table but it soon filled up. We ordered and didn't wait long for our food to be served. Everyone enjoyed their main courses and desserts too. The prices were very reasonable. I would eat here again.

We found this typical German cuisine restaurant by chance and it was a wonderful discovery! We had the opportunity to try the traditional potato soup, the Berlin-style liver (excellent!!) and the shank and, to finish, an Ephraim cake which was also very good. All accompanied by an excellent beer and a coke. Definitely recommended!

We were served by a lady from Ukraine who spoke 4 languages ​​and we placed the order in Polish without any problems. and you have to wait a while for the dish, but the place has a nice atmosphere

A very enjoyable dinner in a beautiful location. We chose to eat inside as our hearing isn't good and we could converse easily being the only inside diners at the time. Staff was helpful and patient with our lack of German.

Great location, no WiFi free, no disabled access, only 1st service force, ok after initial problems 👌. You can sit outside, great view. No declared German cuisine, toilet 🚾 ok 👌, soup 🍲 so-so, beer 🍻 ok 👌, menu mixed with Cyrillic vocabulary.

Was a little disappointed. Manageable menu with a few dishes. The impression was that the schnitzel was not freshly prepared, was firm and fried. The fried potatoes served with it were few and when I asked in advance whether I could get a double quantity, I was refused because the dishes corresponded to the general standard. Otherwise, the service was friendly, the furnishings were old-fashioned and I wouldn't go there again to have lunch.

Tip - Restaurant on the Spree, very nice, old building, (oldest on site?) also great inside, you feel like you've been transported back to the good old days (100 years ago), the tables aren't crowded together, great ambience. The food was very tasty and quite cheap for the location and ambience, including drinks.

During a city tour in Berlin we visited the restaurant on the Spree. Were received a very warm welcome, very cozy atmosphere. The food was very tasty. For dessert there was homemade ice cream with cherries and cream. We will visit it again and again and recommend it.

As soon as we arrived in Berlin we found this small restaurant, in the Nicolaiviertel neighborhood. Excellent food, very attentive service and atmosphere like a typical German house. We ate knuckle with potatoes and various sausages. Everything is excellent! And for dessert, strudel (apple pie), spectacular.

Tasty typical German food. Uncomplicated food at a reasonable price. The framework is somewhere between authentic and kitch. Be sure to notice the photos of the cakes on the wall. One of them is even on the map. It's up to you to find out which one.

The schnitzel was tasty and large enough for me, the dish with the various sausages was also good. Tasty apple strudel, not too big, so a good portion after the main course. We could pay by card. Nice living room atmosphere. We missed some music, but that's a detail. The boy serving was nice and we didn't have to wait long for anything. We thought the price for the main course was very reasonable.

We really liked it in 02/2024. The food was very good and the service excellent. We had a nice table by the window, right by the piano. It is also worth briefly reading the introductory words about the creation in the menu. We found the prices to be moderate and reasonable, especially because the restaurant is in the Nikolai Quarter and therefore on the “tourist mile”. 😉👍🏻 It was a very pleasant stay in a relaxed atmosphere. 🥂 Thank you.

If you are not German they will serve you last. The food and beer they serve are very weak. I will not repeat.
