Food is awesome, rich and good quality, totally worth the price, and service is friendly, the menu comes in different languages so it is easier to read and choose for foreing people like me :) I tried it yesterday and came back today.

Very cozy restaurant, everything looks so solid and authentic, wonderful interior. Good location. The dishes are very tasty, and the portions are very large, if you don't eat much, you can take 1 portion for 2. The apple stew is also delicious. The service is also good, we had a Ukrainian waiter, pleasant and attentive, he helped us choose dishes and we are grateful that we chose exactly what we really liked. The prices are average for a German restaurant.

This restaurant made a bad overall impression.. or rather, the eatery. The cheap interior leaves much to be desired.. the food is generally terrible - defrosted schnitzels and not fresh potatoes, is this what they call a "restaurant" now? We came to the restaurant based on the reviews and had good expectations, unfortunately it was almost the worst experience. The schnitzel is terrible.. I buy and cook better with Neto. In general, the impression was already spoiled at that moment, but then foul language began to come from the waiter's room. Some man entered the same place, stared and examined. What is this even? The service was mediocre, but normal for such a place. I do not recommend visiting...

I looked at the score and comments, and the fact that it had a Michelin star and praise for 3 years influenced my decision!… We loved the lamb shank and liver, and the beef roll was also good… the grilled salmon was mediocre…

We spent a wonderful Sunday here. Despite its central location in Berlin, it's very quiet in the nearby Nikolaiviertel district. Sitting outside at the restaurant by the Spree River is lovely, and watching the excursion boats go by is a real treat. The server approached us quickly, served us warmly, and our food arrived within minutes. The menu offers a nice selection of fish, meat, and desserts. The food tasted exactly like classic German cuisine, just as we expected. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked, the portion was more than enough for me (a man), and the price was absolutely fair. We felt very welcome and will gladly return.

Worth the price. The ambiance is very pleasant and traditional (you feel transported to the late 19th century), the service is quick and friendly, and the food is good. The soup was hot, the roulade was good and tender, but unfortunately under-seasoned for my taste (as was the red cabbage). The portion is filling, but not large. Prices are reasonable for Berlin Mitte.

Very good, very friendly staff! The restaurant is beautiful and chic, but not as expensive as you might think! It's a shame they were out of the dessert we wanted! No big deal, we'll get it next time, we weren't hungry anyway 😂 I recommend it

Great comfort food, warm atmosphere

The flavor of the potato soup was very nice, I enjoyed the warmth and comfort. Unfortunately, the lamb shank was very tough for my taste, not as “fall off the bone” as I prefer for it to be. I was given a butter knife to use as cutlery and it felt like I was chasing the meat around on the plate just to cut it. Bit rubbery for my liking, shame to waste! I tried to eat as much as I could but the meat was pretty gray. I would try maybe the sausage plate next time which had first caught my eye. Also I know the bill is not supposed to be rushed, but for 1 person, 2 hours is too long for me to stare at the wall without dessert being offered. I had to stand up and find the waiter to ask for the check after 120 mins, solo eating. :/

Unfortunately, the entire experience was significantly spoiled by the wait time for the meal, which was definitely below par. Despite placing our order in advance, we waited so long that at one point we began to wonder if the staff even remembered us. This lengthy order processing time made the experience mediocre, despite the potential for greatness. Rating: 3/5.

We had a wonderful experience at Ephraims Restaurant & Cafe! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and everything was perfectly organized. But what truly made our visit special was the outstanding service from Yeroslav. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional — he made us feel very welcome and took great care of us throughout the evening. Thank you, Yeroslav, for making our dinner so enjoyable! We’ll definitely come back and highly recommend this place to everyone!

Good German food and good service.

The goulash was tasty, but the meat was fairly tough. The potato dumplings were completely flavorless. I'm sure that both recipes were traditional, but a little salt would go a long way.

Highly recommended. The food is a blend of Asian and European cuisine. Very well done. One star deducted for the service after the main course. It took several requests for a menu to choose a dessert. Unfortunately, the later it got, the more the service deteriorated. 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Welcoming place, prompt and respectful of our online reservation on Sunday evening. I'd say the food was excellent, the service was decent, although frankly, only two waitresses for a full place seems a bit small. They did what they could. The food was a bit slow, the price was more than reasonable.

Right on the river, great. Food was clearly just frozen and reheated, had the schnitzel. The worst part is multiple people had issues paying. Where they had to take collateral for you to go to an ATM. Happened to a couple when I was there too.. being cash I guess? Or just go get better schnitzel haha

Wonderful place have come back multiple times on my holiday, very well located both in its closeness to so many other popular attractions and in it being next to the spree. Not a great success. The food was okay, but the potatoes were overcooked and dry. The terrace was full of wasps and looked unkempt. A faded glory. The service was friendly, although the waitress kept pushing for dessert even though we'd already announced with our main course that we'd be sharing due to our moderate appetite. Maybe my German wasn't up to par.

Great service and wonderful food.

We had dinner here a few days ago and we liked it. When we arrived, it took a while to serve us, but after that, everything went smoothly. We ordered the Champignon Cocotte, a gratin of mushrooms, chicken, and cream, and the Gebackener Camembert, baked Camembert cheese accompanied by jam, bread, and salad. We liked both. Reasonable prices and a pleasant atmosphere by the river.

It was a trifecta of food, service, and location. We had the 3-course Schnitzel meal that included a tomato mozzarella soup starter, one of three kinds of schnitzel and an apple strudel dessert. All were delicious. Our waiter Yaroslav was friendly, helpful, and professional. The location on the River Spree was the perfect setting for the perfect meal.

I went here for my last dinner in Berlin. Lamb was really super tasty and even the White german wine we had surprised me, it was really as good as our italian wines. The staff was nice and kind and prices were correct. Greetings from Florence :)

The place is very clean and has a unique decor, reminiscent of an old house from the 1970s. The bathrooms are spotless, with toilet paper, soap, and a full-length mirror. The coffees were very good, and the apple strudels are good value. The best thing about the place are the waiters. We were served by a super-friendly young man. There was also an equally polite waitress. Both are great workers who do their best to understand what you're saying. Congratulations.

Terrible experience, can't rate the food as we ended up leaving. My wife, daughter and I thought the place looked lovely. The waiter we spoke to was really grumpy, we had asked to have a table in the middle of the outdoor space. He advised the tables were booked but showed us to a table on the edge. He basically threw the menus on tge table then went away. We sat looking at the menu but after what seemed like an eternity, no objection appeared to take an order - not even for a drink. In the end we just got up and went elsewhere. So much for hospitality!!!

Just touched down in Berlin and googled for a decent breakfast/lunch, and was not disappointed! When walking in, it felt like we were in a top end restaurant during the 50s, very old fashioned but in a beautiful way! The food was excellent... I've had Schnitzels all over London, but can finally say I've had a proper German Schnitzel! Service was top class and desserts to die for... will be back!

It feels like having lunch at grandma's house, with antique furnishings, typical German cuisine.

The service in the restaurant was truly disastrous. Why do I have to wait while the waitresses calculate in their heads how much change I'll get? They shouldn't hire people like that. I asked several times for the food to be brought more quickly, but it didn't help. In the end, the food was cold. And please stop using unfresh lettuce and tomatoes in the dishes! The atmosphere was extremely tense, and you could feel it everywhere. I was completely ignored. The service is disgraceful. The food isn't cheap; they really should make more of an effort. I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

The atmosphere is really unique. Quiet, romantic setting but also good for groups. A lot of reference to the history of the place which is really interesting. Food was very good, very traditional and filling.

The schnitzel came with just a tablespoon of fried potatoes. The small salad I ordered separately was more or less mediocre. There was no dressing to be found. Just blobs of balsamic vinegar. But the service was really bad. Two young women and one young man were serving outside. The youngest woman was the only one who was really nice and friendly. Dark hair, ponytail, about 19 years old. Thank you very much. The rest of the food wouldn't make you want to return.

We were just out for a relaxed Sunday evening stroll, not looking for anything major — just a decent bite before calling it a day. From the bridge, we spotted this cozy little place right by the water and were immediately drawn in by the menu, especially the solid vegetarian options. That alone felt like a good sign — and it was. My partner went for the celery schnitzel, and it turned out to be a total win: flavorful, well-balanced, and — most importantly — not one of those lazy, thrown-together “token veggie” dishes. You could actually tell someone gave a damn. I went for the big salad plate with chicken and homemade cocktail sauce — simple, tasty, just right. We shared a small plate of pickled cucumbers with pork lard on the side, which added a rustic note to the whole experience. The service? Friendly, low-key, and exactly how it should be. With the salad, the schnitzel, the shared starter, one big bottle of water, and a small beer, we hit exactly €50 including tip — and that’s smack in the heart of Berlin-Mitte. Fair price for a solid dinner. The rest of the menu had plenty of regional classics too — this is the kind of place you can come back to regularly when you’re in the mood for tradition done right.

We were not that fortunate as other clients who were served by Ali and whose reviews we've just read. Our experience with the restaurant was quite mediocre, but the reason that we have decided to leave the review is to warn about the waitress (wearing glasses) who was literally demanding and almost pressuring us to leave her tips. I noticed her tactics with the other couple sitting in front of us when she was withholding giving them the change asking them directly "how much should I give you back?" holding the banknote she received from them and obviously making the lady-client very uncomfortable. It's not how it works. The client decides how much tips they are willing to leave. I paid with card and she asked 'how much should I charge?" and I suggested according to the bill and she "Oh, you probably don't understand" and went on explaining how I should consider tips. That left very unpleasant after-taste. Pun intended. The view was beautiful though.

My wife and I had dinner here last night. We both had goulash and sausage platter - very tasty. We had a bottle of Resiling with the meal. We'd prebooked but the restaurant was quiet when we arrived so the waiter offered us the choice of tables, including an outside table (luckily we opted for inside because it rained heavily within minutes of us sitting down!). I thought the meal was fair value for money, good portions - our choices were their most commonly selected items I'd say. We would go again.

Mediocre restaurant with poor service. I ordered veal goulash and was served what looked like a mess of leftovers. There was even a piece of meat with veins in this ragu, which had little to no cream. My brother ordered dessert, which never arrived, but the seemingly unmotivated service staff tried to charge for it. I can't understand the high ratings at all.

During my stay in Berlin I had dinner at restaurant Ephraims, and it was a very successful experience. The restaurant is in an excellent location, atmospheric and central, which immediately gave a good impression. The service was excellent: friendly staff who serve with a sincere smile. You feel welcome and seen, something I really appreciate. The food was exactly what I had hoped for. I chose a classic German meal: sauerkraut with fried potatoes and sausage assortment – ​​tasty and served at the right temperature. The schnitzel was also of good quality: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Everything was freshly prepared and well seasoned. In short, a nice place to enjoy traditional German dishes with top service. I will definitely come back here!

Right in the spree. Went to lunch there. Schnitzel was good. Asparagus soup was even better. Overall a pretty good place in a more touristy area.
