Enchilada in Freiburg im Breisgau

You have to go if you are in Freiburg. On Mondays the price of the cocktails is diced, it couldn't be better. The food is great, as is the service.

Food so-so, service very attentive and the ambience is very nice, the prices are good.

Super delicious food, large selection and pleasant service! Really want to come back! The enchiladas (vegetarian) were definitely 10/10 :)

Great place with amazing homemade drinks and great food.

We were there for the second time. The menu is more than sufficient. The dishes tasted good and the quantity was sufficient. Definitely better than the enchilada en FDS. In my opinion the cocktail (non-alcoholic) had a bit too many ice cubes but was still “ok”. The service was friendly, we were there with our baby and unfortunately we were not offered a plate, chair or anything else for the baby. We had a tupperware container that we used as a plate and we had to get the chair ourselves. I didn't think it was that great, but it can happen. Although there was a lot going on on Saturday evening, it was still possible to have a good time. I think it's bad that dogs are allowed in the restaurant. My daughter is terrified of dogs and there were women sitting next to us with a huge dog that kept crawling under my husband's chair. I myself am very tolerant (although allergic to animal hair) but there are other guests who might feel bothered by it.

In my opinion the best pub in Freiburg. Absolutely recommended, starting from the ambience, service and happy hour every day.

It took about 50 minutes for our food to arrive. Since my drink was of course already empty, I ordered a beer as soon as the food came. Unfortunately the beer didn't come. When the waitress wanted to clear away our empty plates, I pointed this out to her and ultimately canceled the beer. That's better. The food is mediocre, especially when it comes to the Plato Mexicano, I would recommend that the owner go next door to El Gallo to see what a Plato Mexicano looks like.

Unfortunately, I accidentally spilled a drink this evening just before paying. The waiter refused to accept my money because he said “the wet money would mess up his wallet.” Ah yes, in the future he can also pick up his dry license from me, it just costs a tip 😊

The food is not bad, but the service is. Our waiter was able to look away at our work. Walked close to our table about 50 times during our stay for no reason at all. He probably wanted to pretend he was busy. However, tables further than ours were not occupied. Once we paid we were out of the picture and he almost knocked us over. I have never had a bigger farmer as a waiter. So you don't want it from the staff.

Delicious food, great service. Location outside isn't quite enough for a top rating because it's on the street/bus parking lot.

We were quite disappointed with the overall quality of the food, the wait time and the service. We arrived at around 7:30 PM, the restaurant was relatively full, we didn’t think it would take long to get our food though, because of guests around us getting their food quite quickly. We sadly had to wait close to an hour for the food to arrive, the starter came at the same time as the main course and the quality of the food wasn’t good. We got burgers and both of them were grilled to death. No flavor at all and the meat was really hard to eat. We were hoping for a nice evening but were disappointed. Probably won’t eat there again.

Everything's great! Food tasted very good, freshly cooked with good ingredients. Ideal if you want to eat something high-quality late in the evening. We'll definitely be back!

Our phones did not work well with the scanned code and they did not have any printed menus in English. We sat for a longer than usual time before the server took our drink order. Then a second server came and asked if we wanted drinks. Unusual. Server was slow in bringing drinks. Be aware the ‘new-meat’ listed on the menu is a plant based ‘meat’ option. We didn’t try it. Ordered chips and salsa which were good but chips, in my opinion, were a little salty. Guacamole,salsa and chipotle mayo were good dippers. We both ordered a beef burrito which was small, compared to American standards but still filling. Menus were left on the table for half of the time after we ordered. My wife could not find sangria listed on the menu. Ordered a second round of drinks but we were finished with our meal before they showed up. Food was tasty but the service is very slow.

We were greeted very warmly with good service, the food was top, especially the crispy cauliflower tacos were very tasty and the atmosphere and interior design made us feel very comfortable, 10/10!!

I had dinner and a few cocktails with friends at Enchilada last week. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince me 100%. The bartender really did a top job with the cocktails - he was a young, thin man. I have rarely had such good cocktails. But the highlight of the evening was our waitress, a young, good-looking man with glasses. He had a very likeable manner about him that immediately put you in a good mood. In addition, he always has an excellent instinct to ensure that we are always well looked after. I have to say that I have rarely had such good service, so kudos goes to this young man with glasses. I hope he will see this review.

Food: Quality is okay, doesn't match Mexican cuisine but tastes good. Happy hour cocktails work well. Service: was very good and really friendly. Ambiance: You sit in front of the cathedral between the Ring and Bus Verlehr.

A very good and tasty restaurant. Inexpensive and great and nice service. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning or a fan on this hot day🙈 it worked, but was still a bit hot. The cocktails were very good, especially the Frozen Virgin Strawberry Margarita was delicious. I can only recommend it!

Very tasty vegan food, very nice staff.

The food is mediocre, so the price-performance ratio is not right! If I order a beer with my meal at 10:35 p.m. and we're told that the beer tap can no longer deliver beer because it's closing time, I don't know whether to cry or laugh! We have never experienced such lousy service!

Service is nice but chaotic (no one is in charge and then everyone is) and slow even though it wasn't full. Food is tasty, but I didn't get full after 3 tacos. You cannot order additional tacos for €3 each, you can only order them in addition to a completely new portion. Unnecessarily bureaucratic? Happy hour from 10.30 p.m. for the last round is completely impractical. I'm disappointed. I remembered it better.

I'll make it short and painful, the food ranged between poor and nothing special, but the price wasn't that cheap. The service took a little longer, both to accompany us to the tables and to pay. Cocktails were cheap thanks to the dice promotion, but very stretched with ice. Conclusion: It doesn't have to be. Let's see if we'll give it a second chance.

We had an enchilada in Freiburg last Thursday and are still struggling with the after-effects. During the meal we both noticed a sour taste in both the nachos and the burrito, the burrito even tasted like alcohol had been poured on it (?) After our visit we both had stomach aches and diarrhea - something seemed to be wrong with the food. In any case, the enchilada won't see us again.

The food is wonderful and absolutely worth a visit! Unfortunately we weren't that impressed with the service. When we arrived the situation was unclear because we first had to look for someone who could offer us a place. The service seemed a bit absent, but the food came quickly. Unfortunately, at the end we had to wait 30-40 minutes for the churros, which was a bit of a shame. Still a nice location and good food!

Very good Mexican food great atmosphere

Service was alright but not very motivated. The much bigger issue is that the food isn’t customizable as in, you can’t take ingredients off as you please since it all seems to be pre-made. That resulted in me getting tacos with ingredients I just didn’t like and in just not eating most of them. If you want fresh Mexican food you’d better go someplace else.

This is the first time that I think 5 deaths aren't enough. We wanted to try something new that we had never eaten before, so we went to this restaurant. The ambience is perfect, large, great colors, illuminated signs, pretty tables and a nice bar. The range of drinks is varied and large. The food too. I had something like a “tasting platter” and everything tasted original and good and was very nicely prepared. Our service staff was also very nice, asked questions and was friendly. The prices are worth it and are reasonable for the portions. The homemade lemonades are also very good.

Süßkartoffelpommes meiner Tochter dunkel, kalt und labbrig. Statt Crispy Chicken ein anderes Fleisch erhalten, über 19€ ohne Beilagen- zudem nicht definierbar. Das Personal sollte besser zuhören wenn man bestellt Burger von meinem Mann lieblos, zu fettig und überteuert ( Da bekommt man in gewissen Fast Food Läden bessere Burger) Meine Tacos waren ebenso kalt. Wenn man überteuert und ohne jegliche Beilagen, lieblos angerichtetes Essen möchte, ist man hier richtig. Nicht zu empfehlen. Getränke waren ok, deshalb 1 Stern.

Went to Enchilada again after a long time and were unfortunately a bit disappointed. The service was friendly, but not particularly fast. Drinks took a long time, while you had the impression that the bar staff took it easy... it couldn't have been due to stress. It also took a long time to clean up the neighboring table; the new guests had to sit at a table that was initially not cleaned. We also remembered the food better. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. For the price we expected more, both in terms of taste and portion size. Probably won't be back any time soon. It's a shame, we used to enjoy being there...

A nice evening with friends in a welcoming environment

I've eaten at Enchilada several times in the last year and haven't been disappointed once. I was completely satisfied with the service: What has to be noted positively is that the service pays attention to small things such as a disinfectant wipe that you can use to wipe your hands before eating finger food or simply the small sweets that come with the bill come. The food is also highly recommended: very tasty and easy to digest. In my opinion the best sweet potato fries you can get in Freiburg and I personally am also a big fan of the tacos and the enchiladas. The homemade iced tea is also highly recommended. At peak times it actually gets a bit noisy inside, but that's not particularly important for me. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. Clear recommendation.

The ambience is quite nice, the cocktails aren't that bad, but a bit expensive. For the price I think the portions are really very small. The quality is not particularly good/bad. Overall, more.

Really Mexican, only the waitress who served us (very friendly and helpful) but it's a good version of Tex-Mex food and we were satisfied - we were a relatively large group of about 10 people. We would definitely go again, the cocktails were delicious.

VERY EXPENSIVE. Not worth it. For the same money you can eat much better in other places. A plate with 10 nachos and a little cheese €10. Enchiladas for 1 person €15 and you will stay hungry. Cocktails for €10… crazy.

Enchilada is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a large selection of Mexican dishes that can be combined with various side dishes using the menu. Unfortunately, it is very loud inside, making it difficult to have a conversation. However, the food tastes very good.

The restaurant usually doesn't look anything special, but it doesn't make you wonder where I am. The food, on the other hand, simply tastes modest. I had Borito and it tasted like hand disinfectant had been put in it. The chilli-cheese fries were very simply made. I could have done it better at home. And the price is technically completely excessive for the size and taste of the food. Overall, I wouldn't go there again.

We were there 3 times during our stay in Freiburg. We absolutely loved the food, staff and ambience. The waitress came to our table very quickly and the drinks and food were ready in no time. It tasted delicious, the staff was very attentive and super nice. Only recommended!!

I used to be really addicted to enchilada food. The price-performance ratio is now so bad that I won't be there anymore. Mini portions for exorbitant prices, an endless waiting time and the ambience reminded me of a train station hall. Paid almost €100 and my family was still hungry. Never again

Sehr unfreundliches, arrogantes und überhebliches Personal! Hier wird man, warum auch immer, von oben herab behandelt. Der Laden ist doch ein normaler Laden, keine Sternebude. Der Caipirinha wird ohne Rohrzucker gemacht, das Steak ist kalt…keine Empfehlung!

Inexperienced waiters, it took them a long time to serve us. Spicy food without warning for the children and on top of that they charge you for glasses of water at €3.70… a place that I do not recommend even as a joke…

We were with a group of 10 people and our waitress several times was trying to take our drinks unfinished. My girlfriend & I ordered 2 mains, 1 side and 4 drinks. At the end of the evening we asked for two glasses of tap water and she charged us 6.40 EUR for tap water! Yep, you guessed it right - no price is mentioned in the menu, nor did she mention it to us that it cost, and that high! Nor that there is an option for a pitcher for much cheaper. I really don't understand why would the service needs to be so bad & why would a restaurant steal on something like free tap water from customers that already spend so much money there... Upsetting.

The food was okay, the service was also good, it’s a one time go restaurant but not too much that I could hype about. The taste was fine but wasn’t that great.

I'm not a fan of tacos etc. but it was really tasty here. The outside area is currently being remodeled. A bit crowded and noisy in the restaurant, but acceptable. Right in town. A parking garage directly below.

6 male employees and 21 customers. Time 11:40 p.m., the room was very clear. The staff were unable to bring us a drinks menu, we got these ourselves. Ordering the cocktails also took a while. When asked whether it would be possible to get some snacks with the cocktails, this was answered in the negative. The kitchen crew had already gone home because there wasn't much going on. The kitchen is officially open until midnight. Ask? Why do you need a kitchen crew to get snacks? Even when the drinks were finally served at the bar, the staff were unable to serve them to us. Instead of serving, employees prefer to play a dice game.

Delicious food and great service! We were there with 14 people as part of a bachelor party and certainly not the easiest guests! The service employee, Frida, was very patient and polite and gave us very good advice on choosing our food and drinks. You could tell that she was passionate about her job and we felt very comfortable there! We would like to thank the entire service team and the kitchen for a successful evening and can fully recommend the enchilada. Thanks!

Omdat we niet gereserveerd hadden, want net aangekomen in Freiburg, zijn we hier op goed geluk naartoe gewandeld. Uiteraard zat het restaurant op zaterdagavond goed vol maar gelukkig konden we nog een plekje aan de bar krijgen. Ik moet zeggen dat ik de kritische reacties niet helemaal herken want het eten was goed en we konden nog net een cocktail tijdens het happy hour bestellen. Ja de muziek staat wat luider en met groepen jongeren is het dan erg rumoerig maar dat is te verwachten in een studentenstad. Voor ons was het dan ook een prima keuze voor een lekkere Mexico maaltijd.

Precisely because Karlsplatz is one of the ugliest squares in Freiburg, it is all the more surprising to find such an attractive location in this area. Food delicious, good and manageable selection, drinks cold. What more do you want....

Great drinks and food. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good and drinks stood at the bar for several minutes before someone brought them. But otherwise everything was great.

Very nice shop. The drinks were delicious and if you are lucky on dice night and roll low prices you can get away cheaply. (For each cocktail you can dice the price from 2-6€)

The enchilada is very inviting. The drinks and especially the food taste very, very good and requests are catered for. I find the atmosphere very cozy and you can linger for a while. The staff is very friendly and on point. However, I find the prices a bit disproportionate in relation to the quantity you get. Sure, everything has become more expensive + the city surcharge. I understand that too. But I still think the prices are a bit excessive. 10 euros for a cocktail that contains more ice than anything else is steep. Especially since there wasn't even any decoration or anything. I think you can expect a little more for 10 euros. Normally a burrito is enough for me. Especially since it cost around 15 euros. I also ate a portion of chilli Ceese Fries with this. So the portions were manageable. Maybe we can change that a little bit. Then it would be 5 stars and it would be perfect. Nevertheless, thank you for the lovely evening.

Dear Enchilada Team, don't take it any offense. The food was very tasty. Everything was perfect, but everything was served “at once”. We first ordered the nachos as a starter and then the rest afterwards (see picture). The drinks were then brought about 5-10 minutes after the meal (it can happen, not that bad). What bothered me was that the starter was brought directly with the main course. I was then forced to eat the food quickly because otherwise the nachos or tacos would have gotten cold. The service was nice too.

We were there for dinner with four people. The food was great! The glasses were empty and we would have liked to order something more. Unfortunately we were no longer noticed and had empty plates and glasses standing in front of us for over an hour. The waitress preferred to take care of the guests at the window front.

I liked the food, but I was absolutely disappointed by the service. During our visit we had to wait almost 15 minutes for the drinks and even then everything didn't come at the same time but at different times, so the food took much longer. In order for the happy hour to make economic sense, the cocktail is of course made with ice to a shockingly large extent (see photo). Then the fries for our little son were forgotten, which didn't create a good atmosphere at the table, and they didn't come later. When we were finally able to speak to a member of staff, the rest of us had already finished eating - the most disappointing thing about the whole visit: "fine, I'll cancel it". Not a word of apology. Unfortunately, the dishes were not cleared away after the meal. Nobody asked if we would like something more to drink. So I paid and we left disappointed.

Place where you work without love for the profession. Disinterested and unmotivated service staff. 20 minutes waiting for a beer that they left to warm up at the bar to receive it with a little more foam. No apologies for the wait or anything. As a customer you feel unwelcome. It seems like they just want you to come, pay and leave. In short, a shame. I do not recommend it. You come wanting to try something that promises because of its beautiful decoration and you end up not hungry because of how bad they make you feel.

A very good restaurant with a wide range of Mexican specialties and burgers. We found the service to be exceptionally friendly. So we dropped a knife on the floor and the service immediately came and offered a new one. The food is very varied, rich and tastes delicious. Always worth a visit.

The wild berry lemonade was good, but unfortunately the pina colada wasn't. Waiting time for the food was ok. Starter nachos with four dips was good, new dips tasted better than before. Tacos tasted okay, unfortunately they were too soft, they fell apart and the Burrito Supremo tasted good, but it was difficult to cut as the base was too thick. The ambience was good, the staff was friendly, but you shouldn't stand around at the pass forever and look around in the air. The food was beautifully presented.

A great Mexican - finally a location to eat, drink and enjoy again. The service was excellent and very friendly, the food was top and beautifully prepared. Only the Mexican fries were a bit boring and normal fries are somehow inappropriate here, but everything was still delicious.

Were just here for lunch. Super tasty 😋 and recommended. Our service staff was friendly and attentive without seeming intrusive. Seen in pictures: Enchilada Pollo with spicy sauce and gratinated with cheese. Also as a starter grilled avocado with a drink Pink Berry. Burger Clásica with drink Frozen Virgin Strawberry. Tres mini burritos as a classic version. For dessert, churros with cinnamon sugar and chocolate sauce. If we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back 😎

Very good food and friendly staff

It's been a long time since we've eaten here again. After the renovation it looks very good. The food was also very good. My portion was a bit too small for me (male) 😅

Very good food. Decent vegetarian options. Must try their quesadillas and garlic bread side. Enchiladas are so so. Mexican fries are not the usual ones (it’s thin like Mcdonalds)

Our visit to Enchilada was a culinary success. We had the opportunity to choose 3 out of 4 Tachos twice, the Steak Fajita and Pollo Fajita, all of which were a delight. We also had refreshing homemade iced tea and cocktails that were brought to their peak in terms of taste. We won't withhold our dessert from you, feel free to try the triple sweets and also have a portion of churros, that was our very special sweet end to our evening. We had a very good time this evening and we are convinced that you will have a very good time too.

We received a friendly welcome. Our reserved table was in the "last" corner. The table wobbled extremely. Since the table next door wasn't any better, we made do with beer mats. The nachos were forgotten for one of our appetizers, but they were immediately "delivered." The food was generally okay. However, the extremely loud background noise was disturbing. You couldn't have a normal conversation at the table. All in all it was an average evening. We would rather not come back.

Ab 22h30 ist Happy Hour, da lohnt es sich erst recht Außerdem kann man jeden Montag den Preis seines Cocktails würfeln Essen geht auch bis spät abends noch Unsere Favoriten sind die Tamales (Aktion) und Tacos (durch die Bank himmlisch!), Zu empfehlen! Aber auch die fleischlose Auswahl lässt nicht zu wünschen übrig Allerdings übertreiben sie es bei den Enchiladas mit dem Käse, etwas weniger wäre nicht verkehrt Auch gibt es keine Fischgerichte und keine "leichteren" Sachen wie Suppen und nichts wie z.B. Fleisch/Fisch mit Salat/Gemüse und Reis, dazu muss man zum El Gallo gegenüber Es gibt eher sehr Sättigendes und typische Snacks wie Nachos Tipp: die Aktionskarte gibt es nur online, ist aber einen Blick rein auf jeden Fall wert!

Waren heute da und waren einfach nur verblüfft. Eine große Auswahl an mexikanischen Speisen und Getränken. Das Essen war gut, die Menge sättigend. Was uns besonders gut gefallen hat, war der Service. Sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung, und das obwohl der Laden stark frequentiert war. Wir haben uns extrem wohl gefühlt. Man kam alle 10-15 Minuten zu uns zum Tisch u d fragte ob alles rechtens war. An dieser Stelle lieben dank an Arthur(?), der seine Arbeit unglaublich gut macht. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder wenn wir in Freiburg sind

Sehr leckeres Essen. Das bisher beste Mexicanische Restaurant wo wir bis jetzt waren. Der Service war sehr nett hat immer wieder nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und das Essen wurde auch recht zeitlich gebracht. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an leckeren Cocktails. Es ist vielleicht etwas teurer aber das ist es überall aber auf jeden Fall das Geld wert.
