Der Laden engagiert sich gegen alles was ihrer Meinung nach "rechts" ist. Stabile Gratislorbeeren-Absahner 😅

Essen ist zünftig, Personal freundlich. Der Chef geht mir zu motzig mit seinen Angestellten um. Aber das eigentliche Problem, warum wir nicht mehr kommen ist, dass nur Barzahlung akzeptiert wird. In einem Brauhaus, wo man mal schnell an die 100€ kommt mit mehreren ist das ein noGo.

Ein ganze tolles Restaurant mit schönem Biergarten. Die Karte dort hat teilweise abwechselnde Gerichte, was den Besuch nie langweilig werden lässt. Die Menschen die dort arbeiten, sind aufmerksam und super nett. Das man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann, kann man der Webseite entnehmen, also erst mal selbst schlau machen, bevor man auf den Wirt schimpft. Es werden auch regelmäßig Fußballspiele übertragen, also alles tutti.

Lecker Kölsch im schönen Biergarten....Essen war schon mal besser

Der Biergarten hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente und man kann es in den Sommertagen dort gut aushalten. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und bemüht, jedoch haben wir über 1 1/2 Std auf unser Essen gewartet, welches dann auch nur durchschnittlich und kalt war. Ich empfehle auf jeden Fall eine Reservierung und viel Geduld.

Wir haben uns mit einer alten Freundin dort getroffen. Draußen gibt es eine schöne Terrasse. Wir haben uns aber rein gesetzt, weil es noch etwas frisch war. Drinnen gibt es das typische Brauhaus-Ambiente mit massiven Holztischplatten mit Besteck im Bierkrug darauf. Richtig urig ung gemütlich. Der Service war hervorragend. Alle paar Minuten kam jemand vorbei und fragte, ob wir zufrieden sind oder ob wir etwas möchten. Sensationell. Ebenfalls sensationell war das Essen. Die Portion war ausreichend groß zum satt werden und der Geschmack war umwerfend gut. Toll. Insgesamt war das ein sehr schönen runder Abend, wo wirklich alles gepasst hat. Achso ... das beste Bier aus der kleinsten Brauerei von Köln gibt's dort auch vom Fass.

Essen war gut, Service zum Großteil freundlich. Was allerdings sehr nervig ist, dass man hier nicht mit Karte zahlen kann.

Waren spontan zu zweit heute da und haben noch einen Tisch bekommen, super netter Laden, ein sehr netter Service! und super leckeres Essen! Ich freue mich schon, wenn der Biergarten offen hat, dann kommen wir spätestens wieder!

Eine Top Location mit sehr leckerem Essen, großzügigen Portionen und einem fairen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Gulaschsuppe ist echt mächtig und hat es mir richtig angetan. Sehr nettes Personal. Den Besitzer kenne ich schon seit den 90er Jahren vom Päffgen. Toll, was er hier selbst aufgebaut hat. Ein Schmuckkästchen im Grünen.

Kultkneipe im Kölner Westen, direkt am Beethoven Park. Im Sommer mit Biergarten, der immer gut besucht ist. Essen ist typisch für kölsche Kneipen, gut aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Schreckenskammer Kölsch ist eine meiner Lieblingsmarken.

Wir sind am späten Abend gekommen. Der Inhaber und seine Frau sind wirklich Klasse Menschen. Habe mich wohl gefühlt obwohl ich sonst nicht so der "Kneipen" Mensch bin. Komme sehr gerne wieder

Die Atmosphäre in diesem kölschen Lokal ist nett und entspannt, es kommen alle Altersklassen hierher. Am Wochenende wird der FC übertragen - im Sommer auch Fussball-Großveranstaltungen im Biergarten über die Leinwand. Der Service ist sehr nett. Die Qualität des Essens ist nicht verkehrt, vieles ist allerdings einfach convinient: Beilagen wie Rotkohl sind definitiv vorbereitet eingekauft, Rosenkohl kommt aus der Truhe. Die Schnitzel sind nicht verkehrt, es gibt aber deutlich bessere in Köln. Die Pommes werden reichlich gebracht, dazu immer automatisch die XXXXXXXL-Mayo-Plastik Flasche und das Ketchup ebenso. Smart ist anders. Man sollte reservieren, an Fussball-Samstagen auch schon etliche Tage im Voraus.

Einfach Kult und ein Stück typisches Köln. Muss man erleben.

Eine schöne kölsche Kneipe, einfach urig und gemütlich. Absolut empfehlenswert! Hier trifft man sich im "Veedel". Im Sommer mit schöner Terrasse.

Das sind die besten Kroketten, die die Stadt Köln und ihr Umland jemals gesehen haben. Traumhaft.

Sehr leckeres Essen, super freundlicher Service, klasse Bierauswahl aus Franken. Da es keine Kartenzahlung gibt, sind es am Ende leider eher 4,5⭐. Trotzdem sehr zu empfehlen, kommen gerne wieder!

Great beer garden on the city's most beautiful avenue, with the best Kölsch on tap...CHAMBER OF HORRORS ❤️ The food is fantastic. Whether it's Wiener Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, or the giant Currywurst, everything tastes great and the portions are generous. My favorite place to watch Effzeh games, with perfect views from every seat and Kölsch service like in a brewery...it flows effortlessly, and the friendly staff doesn't miss a single empty glass.

Good Cologne restaurant, the schnitzels looked very good, but the vegetarian version was unfortunately only frozen. Very tasty potato salad.

Very nice beer garden. Fast and friendly staff. Beer refills arrive quickly. The food is rather average. However, the restrooms were quite dirty and smelled terrible. What I find particularly unfortunate, however, is the fact that in 2025 only cash will be accepted as a payment method. When the receipt says "interim invoice," it certainly leaves a bad taste in your mouth...

Beer garden right next to the park. Quite expensive, but good food and drinks.

The team is very friendly, and Kölsch is a regular. Reservations are recommended in good weather. It was a nice evening, and the food was also delicious.

Delicious food, friendly service, a great beer garden, and the best Kölsch (a real horror). But folks, what's absolutely unacceptable is "cash only." Really? It's 2025. I shake my head.

Edit: These days, every vendor at the weekly market has a Sum Up device or a similar option for customers to pay by card. And here I'm supposed to pay in cash for amounts that easily add up to €50 or €60? We've chosen other beer gardens. It's a shame. The beer garden has always been a nice place where people enjoyed sitting and ordering Kölsch beer and snacks. BUT: a lot of time has passed since the lockdown, the place is always full, and there's no reason why they should only accept cash payments. Except for us.

Cash only? In a restaurant? In 2025? What reason could there be for that? I don't know, but I certainly won't be coming back if I have to use the ATM first.

A very nice restaurant, very good cuisine, friendly and nice owner. Courteous service. When the weather is nice you can sit in the large beer garden. Great for unwinding and relaxing.

Superbly located, in the countryside, at the Beethoven Park entrance, rustic food, the option of digital payment by card or Paypal would be ideal, then we would definitely come more often!

Been here again after many years due to where I live. I was very pleasantly surprised by the kitchen, where the boss probably cooks. I had Königsberger Klopse, which was very tasty. We were here in a group of around 10 people. Almost everyone ate and no matter whether it was the giant currywurst or the mega cutlet, everyone ate with great appetite. The service was excellent, super nice, and quick. At 35 euros including a tip, it's a great, inexpensive evening with no ifs or buts.

The Königsberger Klopse were absolutely amazing 😍😍😍 I haven't eaten this great in a long time!

After many visits to the birch tree, I have to briefly share my enthusiasm. I love the legendary currywurst, mayo and ketchup from the bottle that you can serve yourself and also one of the tastiest Kölsch fresh from the Pittermänchen! I don't need anything more to be happy. However, this is topped by the excellent, very attentive and warm team as well as what is probably the most beautiful beer garden in Cologne. I'm a fan and thank you for your great effort!

The goose meal is excellent - with rilletes and bread, then lamb's lettuce and then goose with dumplings, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, chestnuts, dumplings and chestnuts. Simply delicious. Not exactly cheap.

Ordered a goose to pick up. Quality was 1A. Portion was generous. Price was accordingly OK. Not cheap, but not too expensive either. Next year I'll order another one 👌🏻

I recently went to a spontaneous goose dinner with friends in the Birkebäumche. Whether this actually had to be pre-ordered, the host was so flexible and willing to quickly put one in the oven. What can I say VERY DELICIOUS!

We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed - food great, service too. We've never had to wait long. I also can't understand the fact that other reviews here complain about a cool saying - it's probably someone's first time in Cologne.

Nice evening, you have to like the old, rustic pub, otherwise you might not like it. Large portions and delicious as always.

What is unfortunately a problem: it takes a long time (really unreasonably long) for the order to arrive. We waited over an hour, despite repeated requests. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t a highlight, but rather “discount”-like. The people are actually very nice and try hard, but at least in the outdoor restaurant they don't get it organized. Unfortunately it seems pretty chaotic despite the best location. Unfortunately we won't be coming again.

Super delicious food with typical Cologne charm

Beautiful, rustic pub with an idyllic beer garden adjacent to it is the large Beethoven Park. The service is fast and friendly, the food is delicious and the portions are appropriate for the price. The 300g veal curry sausage and the schnitzel are really huge. We'll come back again.

VERY NICE BEER GARDEN. BUT I WOULD NOT GO THERE WITHOUT A RESERVATION. OUR FOOD WAS VERY TASTY AND PLENTY, SO THE WAITING TIME WAS 1 HOUR. GLADLY TO PURCHASE. In der Tat einer der schönsten Biergärten in Köln, mit Schreckenskammer Kölsch. Trotz Regen konnten wir draußen unter den großen Sonnenschirmen platz nehmen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Das Essen ist gutbürgerlich und gut. Bei gutem Wetter macht eine Reservierung immer Sinn.

In fact one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Cologne, with horror chamber Kölsch. Despite the rain, we were able to sit outside under the large parasols. The service was very friendly and quick. The food is home-style and good. When the weather is good, a reservation always makes sense.

In the Biekembaumchen you will find one of the few real beer gardens in Cologne with an almost ideal location on the edge of Beethoven Park. They serve (in my opinion) the very best Kölsch on tap there. Almost everything is perfect in this beer garden. Even in very hot weather it is still very pleasant thanks to the extremely shady location. However, in cooler weather you should think about warmer clothing. If 1. FC Köln plays, you'll always be right here and there live.

I can only recommend the birch tree. Great location, great ambience, delicious food with a changing menu, delicious horror chamber Kölsch (always freshly tapped) and great service. Try it out, it's worth it.

Wir haben uns entschieden, das EM Achtelfinale im Birkebäumche zu gucken. Zum Glück haben wir einen Tisch reserviert denn der Biergarten war picke-packe-voll. Ich kann sagen, dass wir eine tolle Stimmung hatten. Ein „Moderator“ hat auch durch die Veranstaltung geführt. Es waren eine große Leinwand und TV vorhanden. Das Personal war 1A denn man musste nicht warten. Es klappte alles reibungslos. Leider gab es in der Nacht noch ein Unwetter aber der Moderator hat uns gut präpariert. Das Kotelett mit den Schmorzwiebeln und dem leckeren Kartoffelsalat waren perfekt. Well done! Nicht wunderb aber die Bilder haben einen kleinen Rotstich wegen der roten Beschirmung.

Went to Birkenbäumche for the first time yesterday. Very nice location and attentive staff. Vegan schnitzel with fries and salad were totally okay, but nothing particularly special. Great beer selection!

We waited 1.5 hours for our food. And we weren't told beforehand that it could take longer. Instead, they forgot our order and only realized it the third time we asked. Extremely annoying!

Extremely disappointing! We waited 30 minutes until 1 menu for 6 people came. After an hour a salad with chicken arrived which tasted raw. After asking to fry it again, it came back with the same consistency…. There was no response to a complaint and the charge was still made. Also very, very expensive and only cash payment possible… No words… Extremely bad service!!!

Einer der schönsten Biergärten von Köln, mit Schreckenskammer Kölsch und kleiner Küche, was leider lange Wartezeiten mit sich bringt. Die Bedienung ist ziemlich lahm und der Wirt dafür etwas Vorlaut. Aber mit Geduld, guter Laune, Freude an nem leckere Kölsch und einfacher Küche, wird es ein schöner Besuch

Hatten Klassentreffen dort. Wirklich schön gelegen am Beethovenpark, Bedienung war aufmerksam und das Essen rustikal+Schreckenskammer kölsch lecker. Sternabzug weil keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist, das ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Ansonsten klare Empfehlung.

Leider habe ich keine guten Erfahrungen gemacht. Das Personal ist total unfreundlich und das Essen war sehr fettig und teilweise ungenießbar. Als ein Gericht von uns reklamiert wurde da es wirklich nicht essbar war, wurde es trotzdem in Rechnung gestellt anstatt die Speise nochmal frischer zu bringen. Sehr schade. Leider wurden bei mehreren Personen einen Tag später Magenschmerzen und Durchfall festgestellt.
