We were the only guests on a Saturday evening, along with two other guests. That should have made us suspicious, but we were drawn in by the truly lovely ambiance. The service was really friendly. We started with toasted bread and dip. Free and delicious... Everything else was unfortunately rather disappointing, considering the price. A grilled salmon fillet with frozen creamed spinach, lots of ajoli, and a dry lemon wedge. Completely disappointing. The dish lacked imagination and sophistication, which I'd expect for €31 (mind you, without the potato side dish, which, unfortunately, is also nowhere to be found on the menu). The Gigantes beans with feta in tomato from the oven were okay for €15. But again, a bit lacking in ideas. What a shame! Because I think the place has real potential!

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food, very friendly service, and a wonderful garden. A must-visit. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than your average Greek restaurant, but definitely worth it.

Delicious food, a wide selection of dishes, many of which are vegetarian/vegan. The portions are generous, and you can also order small side dishes. You can sit comfortably outside on the terrace. However, you should allow plenty of time; even though it wasn't busy, we had to wait quite a while for our food.

We've now found our new favorite Greek restaurant in Hamburg. 🙌🏻 We've rarely eaten such good Greek food outside of Greece. From the quality of the food to the hospitality, everything is perfect and warm. We'll be back very soon. P.S. Even our dog got a welcome drink of water with ice cubes 🫶🏻

We weren't happy with the food; the fish was dry, the appetizer consisted of dips, but bread had to be ordered separately. The service was very slow and forgot a lot of things. We won't be back.

We went there via "TheFork" reservation because we were dazzled by the many good reviews. We can't confirm the good reviews and absolutely don't understand them. We had to explain to the waiter what we wanted on the menu (even though we gave him the numbers of the dishes) by pointing at the individual items. Good service can't be done well...but maybe he was new. The starter was mediocre and completely overpriced - a hot platter for 37.90, where the scallops were raw and cold. The main course was a mixed platter, where everything except the gyros was "very well" cooked. This isn't really recommended for veal liver, as it tasted completely dried out. Incidentally, the tuna on the starter platter was also overcooked/grilled! The price/performance ratio simply wasn't right. Unfortunately, the restaurant manager didn't honor the 50% discount in the end, even though we pointed out the reservation through TheFork upon arrival and provided proof of the confirmed reservation in the app. The boss just threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. From my perspective, the clear recommendation here is: Stay away! There was no sign of authentic Greek food here anyway.

I've been here twice, thanks to a discount through "The Fork." The place is nice, as is the food, but the concept isn't entirely clear in my opinion. Is it a Greek taverna? A fancy restaurant? Both—or neither? The portions are generous, and the food is really decent. The service is friendly, but a bit too intrusive. Unfortunately, we didn't feel entirely comfortable.

Unfortunately, the meat was very dry, and the ambiance, such as the music, seemed to play on an endless loop. Perhaps they were just having a bad day, as the taste was quite good.

Yes, I can recommend the restaurant. A warm welcome, with a quick question as to whether everything was okay. At the end, the ladies each received a rose. A delicious little shot was served as a welcome, and an ouzo to finish. The food was delicious, as was the appetizer. For me, as someone with limited mobility, access to the restaurant and the restroom was easy.

A lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and fast. When you think of Greek food, you think of large portions. Unfortunately, you won't find them here. The portions are unfortunately too small for the price. Rice costs extra as a side dish. The taste is nothing to complain about. There was no dessert menu when asked. However, other tables were able to order ice cream. Unfortunately, we weren't able to. Overall, it's very tasty, and vegans will also find something to their liking here.

The menu is manageable, but there's something for everyone...also recommended for vegans and vegetarians...the dishes are beautifully presented. 3. I just ate here with my partner, and we were both very satisfied! Vegans are well catered for here! I had the vegan calamari, and it was absolutely delicious! The staff are also very friendly, especially the manager! And an additional bonus that I don't take for granted: There are toiletries in the women's restroom. I will definitely come back.

Beautiful restaurant. The ambiance is modern and very appealing. The drinks included a very tasty non-alcoholic drink ("on the house"), grilled garlic bread, and a dip. For dinner, there was a salad, as at almost every "Greek" restaurant. But it was completely different from what you'd expect. A far cry from the standard "coleslaw." Very tasty and (you eat with your eyes) attractively presented. The main course (baked gyro) was exceptionally good! The ouzo after the meal is obligatory. Very nice: the ladies received a rose as a farewell gift. If you love Greek cuisine but want to deviate from the norm, Eliés is the place for you.

An all-around good meal that was fresh and well-seasoned! You can follow the staff's recommendations without hesitation. The value for money is good, with the starter, main course, and plenty of drinks.

Every city needs a Greek restaurant like this. A truly fantastic concept. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, we felt completely at home. Here, you can experience how the otherwise meat-heavy German Greek cuisine can be different. In addition to great meat and fish dishes, there's also a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan options, so I finally rediscovered a taste for gyros after almost five years. The service was top-notch. Even a small mistake in my order was handled brilliantly. We can truly recommend a visit to everyone.

My experience at the restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. The vegetable casserole was more like a greasy cheese casserole, the tomato rice was very mushy and barely seasoned. The tzatziki was also disappointing – for €8, we only got three small blobs, which were hardly convincing in terms of flavor. The "real" and the vegan gyros were probably the only bright spots, according to the people at the table. At the end, we were promised a "surprise" if we rated the restaurant 5 stars. I suspect that's where many of the good reviews come from. After our review, we were served the usual fare, even though three out of four people expressly didn't want alcohol. Only after we reacted with irritation was dessert brought instead. On the positive side, everyone was full. The restrooms, however, were in very poor condition. The service was mixed: One waiter seemed very bad-tempered, while another was almost unpleasantly overly friendly. All in all, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

I've been ordering from Elies for a while now, but the quality has deteriorated significantly recently. Recently, I felt like I was getting leftovers from the night before. It was truly disgusting. What a shame.

The staff was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming – you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The food was an absolute highlight: fresh, creative, tastefully prepared, and beautifully presented. Every course was a delight! The atmosphere also deserves high praise – stylish, cozy, and lively at the same time. You can feel the attention to detail here. The combination of excellent service, great food, and atmospheric ambiance ensures that you won't want to leave. A place we highly recommend to everyone – we'll definitely be back!

The restaurant and the food themselves are recommendable, but the price/performance ratio is absolutely not right. €27.90 for a gyro + bifteki is already quite a bargain, but having to pay an additional €5.90 for fries and not being informed that it counts as an additional side dish is, in my opinion, borderline ridiculous. This is also reflected in the customer frequency.

Yesterday, I went to Elies with my friends for dinner. We sat outside in the warm weather, and the atmosphere was very quiet and idyllic. The service was super friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. For me, as a vegan, it's a special treat to have such a large and delicious selection in Greek.

The food was – as always – absolutely delicious! The experience, in particular, sets this Greek restaurant apart from many others. A definite recommendation!

The food was good – large portions, well-seasoned, and both the vegan and classic gyros were very popular. The selection on the menu is broad enough that everyone can find something. The small greeting from the kitchen was also a nice start. What was negative: The desire for a good review was very clear, sometimes directly, sometimes through hints. The promise of a "surprise" was offered, which gave the impression that positive feedback would be linked to something in return. While the effort was friendly, it seemed somewhat inauthentic. The food would have deserved a good review even without such hints. Overall, a successful visit with a strong focus on customer satisfaction – perhaps a bit too aggressive at times.

The food is okay, but unfortunately a bit disappointing in comparison. My bifteki was okay, but nothing more. The Metaxa sauce, however, was very thin and tasteless. The waiters were attentive. It wasn't very busy, but service was still slow. Cutlery arrived after the salad, with a wait. The tzatziki was extremely gelatinous with very little flavor. The gyro's consistency was okay; it was lightly seasoned. The bifteki had no salt and no herbs. The Metaxa sauce was as thin as water, with hardly any flavor. The dish came with a mini salad and a spear of green asparagus with sauce. Side dishes had to be ordered separately, but they were the best part of the whole meal. The thick fries were very good, but unfortunately, they were very cheap for €6. The rosemary potatoes were very tasty and sufficient. There was no light in the men's restroom. We won't be back – sorry.

A particularly good restaurant – a real treat: Delicious food, appetizingly presented, served by attentive but unobtrusive staff, in a chic but not overly lavish ambiance – simply fantastic. You'll gladly accept a longer walk, as the parking situation in Eppendorf is notoriously poor (and if you don't live nearby – tough luck). The restaurant itself, though, is top-notch! We'll be back!

We dined at Elies Restaurant for a birthday. When I made the reservation, I was asked about the occasion. What can I say? I was thrilled. The service created the perfect ambiance beforehand (balloons, etc. – all in a very subtle style, of course, yet striking – really great). The menu itself is very diverse and exemplary for today's times. From vegan gyros to vegetarian casseroles to Greek classics. There really is something for everyone – see for yourself. To finish off, we had the after-dinner drink – a free ouzo, which isn't a given these days, and a large dessert plate for the birthday boy or girl, which the five of us shared – and the Elies team organized it all. You're truly amazing people – keep up the good work. You definitely have new regular customers now!

Super cozy and very well maintained. There is a nice outside area. You get bread and dip in advance (ask if it is vegan when making the dip) and a smoothie shot. the service is super nice. The vegan gyro was delicious! You have to order side dishes separately. The “roasted potatoes” were more like fries than slices, but tasty. Large vegan menu, great!

I've had the opportunity to eat here twice so far and I'm looking forward to the next time. The first time as a date night and the second time as part of a family Christmas dinner and both times the service was excellent and extremely friendly, the food was extremely tasty (both the vegan and non-vegan options), the house wine was delicious and the ambience was just right. This restaurant is an insider tip, especially for constellations of vegans and militant meat fanatics, as there are enough meat options, but also the really really excellent vegan options that my girlfriend and I ordered. As someone who continues to eat a lot of meat but is always curious about such offers, I really like it as good as “real” gyros, so I really recommend it!

I reserved a table for my aunt's birthday. Nothing else was booked. Without our booking, the team had set the table with roses, hung up birthday decorations and at the end there was a cake with a sparkler that we hadn't ordered. It was such a great surprise and the team gave us such a great evening. It was also delicious and we would highly recommend a visit! There are also many vegetarian and vegan dishes. I ordered from Eliés for the first time today and I would give 100 stars if I could. There are such great vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu - I chose the stuffed peppers with vegan mince, plus the tzatziki and it was sooooo incredibly tasty! I'm in heaven!! The restaurant looks nice. It is declared as a Greek restaurant, but the food is not typically Greek and the employees are not Greek either. If you want Greek food, I would definitely go somewhere else. I would describe the food as Mediterranean, there is a large selection of vegan meat substitute products, if you like that. Although I am a vegetarian, I prefer real vegetarian dishes rather than substitute products. Unfortunately there were no Greek options for this. Apart from that, the food was unfortunately really expensive, definitely not good value for money.

We were at the Eliés restaurant in Hamburg Eppendorf for the first time. The ambience made a good impression on us, and it was cozy too. The food, on the other hand, really disappointed us across the board, especially given the price range. The side salad served with the main courses was completely bland, without any dressing. The rack of lamb for €35.90 was unimaginative, side dishes had to be ordered additionally at this price. Croquettes were convenience and made hot in the deep fryer. The rice side dish tasted bitter because it appeared to be burnt and therefore quite dry. The scampi served with the Eliés Platter was not edible because it was also heated in the deep fryer and the shell could not be separated from the meat. After complaining about this fact, we received two new small scampi, unfortunately with the identical result. Conclusion: There are significantly better Greek restaurants in Hamburg that reach a “normal” price level. For the price offered, this restaurant is a huge disappointment and not worth recommending.

The owners try hard and the furnishings appear harmonious and high quality. However, the latter can seem disappointing when carried over to the food and service. We had reserved a table and were allowed to sit at a garden table and garden chairs, which were set up indoors. The steak, ordered without specifying the doneness, was English, not medium rare. The butter on the steak was frozen so it didn't melt even on the lukewarm steak. After we ate, we were asked for feedback by the owner, so I shared what I had written with him. Without responding to this, we were then asked several times to leave a “good review”. The waiting time for the bill was surprisingly long due to four employees waiting at the counter area. For me, overall, more appearance than reality.
