We don't visit Hamburg often, but when we do, we stop here :-) It was only by chance that we stumbled upon Die Taverne and were delighted by the attentive service, the authentic atmosphere, and the incredibly delicious food at a fair price. That's why we'll gladly come back whenever we're in the area :-)

From the moment I crossed the threshold of the taverna, I felt at home. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. The food was phenomenal! I had stifado, a beef stew with shallots and tomato sauce, which had truly deep flavors and a fitting seasoning. Washed down with Mythos and ouzo, it was an absolute 10/10, also due to the friendly service.

The value for money is excellent. Special requests are gladly accommodated. Very friendly staff, a family atmosphere. Always a mini-vacation in Greece.

Super friendly and fit(!) owners, the food was very authentic, fine, and incredibly delicious (we had stifado and lamb chops for main course). Despite the busy schedule, everything went very quickly. We were also not charged for a wine we misread and ordered, and we got a whopping three ouzos per person on the house! 😅We'll definitely be back soon.

The service, food, and ambiance are top-notch. Personally, this is one of the best gyros I've ever had. The menu features a "Gyro Special" with seasonal vegetables for under €20. The ouzo on the house is also good and goes down dangerously well 😉. We'll be happy to come back!

The decor is quite dated, but the delicious food makes up for it. And the passion fruit spritzer is absolutely fruity, incredibly tasty, and not too watery, as is unfortunately often the case in restaurants! Very friendly hosts. The restrooms are simple but clean! The prices are reasonable. A "Greek" restaurant you'll gladly return to!

We're thrilled! Everything was delicious, from the appetizers to the orange cake. The gyro, in particular, was tender as butter and incredibly juicy. The restaurant is very cozy, and the service is super friendly. A place we can wholeheartedly recommend! We have a new favorite restaurant!

The food is great. Portions are generous, the taste is fantastic. Some visits have herbs on the meat, sometimes not. It's always slightly different, but that's nothing negative. Prices are a bit high for Eilbek, and there are no extra small portions on the menu for children or seniors, e.g., a small souvlaki plate for 9.90, a small giros portion with fries for 9.90, etc. Just for those with a small appetite. Unfortunately, there was a large group of teenagers at the table by the entrance who were constantly shouting and laughing, completely uncontrollably. But there's nothing the tavern can do about it, except think Ashto Dialo... We'll be going back.
