We have been loyal guests at the Gyros Specialist for years and are thrilled every time. The food is simply perfect – fresh, authentic and prepared with a lot of love. The boss exudes warm hospitality, which makes every visit a special experience. A restaurant that we can wholeheartedly recommend.

Actually the classic "pick-up Greek" but probably the best east of the Alster. Huge portions. Unfortunately often associated with long waiting times.

As it has been for 40 years, everything is delicious.

Popular with the fire brigade, police and garbage collectors, it is always busy. A little waiting time must be expected. Everything is freshly prepared. The quality of the food is high and there is nothing to complain about when it comes to hygiene. It is cleaned every now and then and the fat is also changed almost daily. Because compared to some other snack bars, there is no smell of old grease here and the fries always taste great. Portions are always plentiful and the price/performance ratio is absolutely right. Inside you can eat standing up, outside there is a covered "summer garden" that is even slightly heated. You can sit there. You still have to order inside, but the food is brought out. All in all, the best snack bar far and wide At peak times (6 p.m.-8 p.m., you have to expect 30-45 minutes to get your food.

I was here for the first time today, but my two friends who accompanied me have known this place for years. And I'm so glad that one of the boys had the idea to go here, even though it's not actually a "normal" restaurant. I will definitely come back to eat more often in the future! You can experience a wonderful warmth here, people simply genuinely care about the well-being of their guests. Plus generous portions that you can't even manage. Above all, the quality and taste of the food is nothing less than PHENOMENAL, simply cannot be topped! And I actually know quite a few Greeks now. Definitely try it!!!

This gyros restaurant is really great. The portions are large and the prices are cheap. The staff are friendly and you can park right in front of the restaurant. It's sometimes crowded but good. I can particularly recommend the souvlaki and of course the gyros. Unfortunately, card payments are not accepted, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

I ordered a small gyro plate and it was pretty hearty and sufficient :) The salad was fresh and crunchy, the fries were perfectly crispy, the tzatziki was divine and the gyros were grilled beautifully spicy and juicy. 10/10 The Gyros Specialist is actually the Gyros Specialist 😎👍🏽

I've known this shop for as long as I can remember and even my parents have been shopping here for ages, but for a long time now the price of gyros has been steadily increasing and the portions are getting smaller. Today was the highlight, ordered 2 large gyros and received the same portion size as our previous orders 1 x large & 1 x small gyro. When he called home, he said he had put more meat in... it's not a bad thing at all to increase the price for less food, but then really screwing over customers for a long time is the last thing. The new managing director should rethink his actions. But everything has an end.

I love you! The best gyros in the whole city, large portions and great prices. Even as a child, I loved it when mom and dad picked up gyros. Today I can pick it up myself and as often as I want :D The owner and the staff are very warm and friendly. Definitely try it!! 😋😋 The Metaxa sauce is also very good. @reviewer Stefan Raab: I think it's unfair to only give one star because of the long waiting time even though the food was great. You rate everything with one star anyway. What should you do if a lot of people want to order food at once? You can't keep up with that or should the restaurant now expand and enlarge the kitchen so that you don't have to wait 5 minutes?

I haven't been so happy for a long time, this was the best gyro I've ever eaten from the first bite to the last without being afraid to bite. The taste is right in your face, Tzaziki subtly hits you hard and it still rings out so hot for an hour. Go here with your boys and girls and enjoy really good food and nice people! 5 out of 5 and worth every euro.

Parking spaces/public transport connections: There are plenty of parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and bicycles on site. Bus stop 100 meters away. Entrance area: Very simple entrance area with a standing counter inside and outside. The snack bar atmosphere is great. Covered and heated terrace with seating and tables. Smoking possible. Drink: Various non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, including very good Retsina (I'm enjoying it at the moment) and Mythos beer (both imported from Greece!). Very good ouzo, just mentioned in passing. Eat: Very well seasoned gyro meat. Unfortunately I didn't try the other dishes. Toilet: Very clean(!) outdoor toilet facilities, separated by gender. Limited wheelchair accessibility. Operation: Very friendly, nice reception. Seat service after ordering. Conclusion: It's always worth a stop if you know real Greek cuisine from Greece. 🥰

It was okay, but I can't understand the 4.8 stars or share them. At first I thought "Wow! Huge portion for the money" (approx. 15 euros for a gyro plate)... But in the end it wasn't anything more, it was just a lot. Unfortunately, the Metaxa sauce was inedible and gluey. All in all, the price is put into perspective again. Ambiance: It's a snack bar.

Best Gyros in town! The meat is perfectly marinated, tender, and bursting with flavor—truly a standout. The shop itself is quite small, so it’s primarily geared towards takeaway. Other dishes are not comparable though. If you’re a gyros lover, this place is a must-visit in Hamburg. Highly recommend!

You shouldn't miss the experience and get there quickly That was once unfortunately the portions have become smaller and more expensive. I've had 2 large portions a few times now and they were the same size as a large one. Great more money less meat and that can't be said several times and unfortunately super disappointing so we won't be back after almost 30 Loyalty and every week it's really sad that you don't appreciate customers who have been loyal for so long and over 3 generations

It was my favorite snack as a child. That hasn't changed even after 40 years. The small portion of gyros with everything that goes with it is really quite a bit. Here, too, there must be a great hunger. This snack bar is known far beyond the city limits. Then the operator does everything right. Keep it up.

Since you're usually not in the store...but rather take away or outside. The old-fashioned atmosphere doesn't matter at all. The food is simply irresistible. Huge portions. Crispy, hot and very, very fresh. Three huge skewers are freshly prepared every morning. And every evening they are completely empty. Anyone who wants to get something in the evening. Better call beforehand. And the employees are just great, like a little Greece vacation

The name says it all: Here you can get some of the best gyros in all of Hamburg! There are numerous regular guests who have been coming here for years (due to its remote and hidden location between Bramfeld and Farmsen, hardly any people other than the local neighbors come here). If you order the large portion, you have to have a big appetite! You won't find better value for money anywhere else! Even the portion of fries on the plate is very generous. There is an outdoor tent to sit in and even small bottles of wine for sale, as well as beer and other drinks in the fridge. The staff is cool and brings the food to the table themselves. It can only be paid with cash
