El Toro in Jülich

Unfortunately, we are no longer satisfied with the service and the food. We used to visit the restaurant several times and were always happy with it. We won't be going there again for the time being. They just rush you through your order now. Waiters often walk away while you're still taking your order. Friendliness has also disappeared. It's a real shame. But there are other restaurants out there.

It was our first time here, and we were very impressed. The steaks were incredibly tender, and the baked potato was huge. The staff was attentive and very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, the quality has declined. We gave them another chance today, and sadly, we were disappointed. Today's menu featured game, and I ordered goose leg with dumplings and red cabbage with apples, priced at just under €40. What I received was a dumpling from a boil-in-a-bag—those cheap ones (outrageous at that price!)—a dry goose leg, and some wilted red cabbage with apples. We used to enjoy going there at least once or twice a month, but after several disappointing experiences due to the declining quality, you've lost us as customers.

We were there with a larger group and got a good table in the fireplace room. The food and service were excellent. We'd love to come back.

Monday evening, 8:30 p.m., got a seat without any problems. Ordering was quick, drinks were quick, salad of my choice from the buffet was good, I enjoyed it immensely. Rump steak with fries - steak was medium, no one asked me, but it was okay. Fries were okay, but nothing special. Coffee was out at 9 p.m., has the machine been cleaned yet?! The fact that there's no one at the restaurant "El Toro" with whom I can practice my Spanish is probably due to the generational difference. Conclusion: Good value for money, I'll be back.

I was there two evenings in a row. On the first evening: The fish platter was very good, cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection, and nothing to complain about! On the second evening: The steak platter. Well seasoned and seasoned, but in a steakhouse, I expect people to know what a steak looks like when cooked bleu and the difference between it and a steak cooked to perfection. So I explained that the beef should only be cooked for about 10 seconds per side. I got a medium-well steak with the explanation that it was a steak cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly, and the service was also impeccable. At the end, they offered a shot of schnapps on the house, which I also found very friendly. On average, we paid €80 per evening for two people and will dine there again.

Yesterday, the four of us were there for the second time. Everything was perfect; it was delicious, with a great salad buffet and a truly special dessert.

Full marks! We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. Despite being fully booked, the food was served super quickly and everything tasted excellent. Great service, too! Always a favorite.

The food was incredibly delicious. Tender meat, creamy sauce, special requests were no problem, and the dessert was divine. The service was attentive and very friendly. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and felt truly at home. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Nice, great atmosphere, delicious food

We were there on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Our dear grandma loved it, and we were very impressed with the small snacks, as seniors are happy and satisfied with a portion. Thank you again for your consideration. We were all very satisfied and have decided to come back; the food was excellent.

We traveled all the way from Hanover just to eat here. It's hard to believe how perfect everything is. The food is prepared with so much love, using fresh ingredients and the quality of the meat is simply fantastic. The ambiance is simply magnificent, the service almost reads the guests' every wish from their eyes, always there when you're just thinking about ordering something... All in all, a restaurant like this is a gift for the culinary palate.

I've eaten here many times, especially during asparagus season. It was always fresh, plentiful, and cooked to perfection. This time, however, I had 4 "Scampi Latino" for starters, very attractively presented on a slate plate. Very tasty with a white wine and cream sauce and toasted toast. (€14.50) Then I had the salmon, a special platter, with new potatoes and a very skillfully cooked spinach in a cream sauce, also with a garlicky sauce. Plus a delicious hollandaise sauce for the salmon, which is always grilled to perfection here and which I really appreciate. All in all: a really good meal for the moderate price.

Grilled plate of horror. Upon arrival, a strong odor began to invade my nose and that of my disabled son. The staff was very neutral, and the menu was relatively dull. When we ordered a "grilled plate" for almost €20, everything became clear. Poorly cooked meat, some dry, some tiny, lots of pork, hardly any beef, etc. It also gave us a stomach ache. As we left, the waiter asked us how we were satisfied. We explained our experience to him, and he then offered us a dessert on the house, which we politely declined. No thanks, El Toro Never again

Simply disappointing. Drinks arrived after 30 minutes, and cold food after 70 minutes. No service, just chaos. Never again.

I come here regularly and am always impressed – the food is simply outstanding! Fresh, flavorful, and prepared with love. You can immediately tell that quality and customer satisfaction are our top priority. Whether it's the main course or dessert – I always enjoy it! The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting.

Truly the craziest steak I've ever had. 300g entrecôte and you'll be in heaven.

The salad buffet is extensive and tasted good. The beef carpaccio as a starter was disappointing in terms of both presentation and taste. However, the main course (rump steak) was delicious: 300 gr, medium with fried potatoes and bacon. The service was very friendly but we had to wait a long time for our drinks, it turned out that they had forgotten it.

Unfortunately the food was a disaster. I will not come back and will not recommend the restaurant. I've known El Toro for a long time and have eaten there several times. Unfortunately, the restaurant has performed very poorly. Orders are taken incorrectly, poor organization results in long waiting times (1 hour and 45 minutes!) and the food as such has unfortunately become really bad, meaning that it is offered at extremely overpriced prices and skimping on food. Unfortunately, the boss's discount doesn't change the impression. What a shame!

We've been to El Toro in Jülich several times in the past few weeks. I've ordered various schnitzels on each visit, and they've always been excellent (also very good value for money). My companions always ordered steak, and that was always very good, too. If we're looking for steak or schnitzel in Jülich, this is our first choice (and they also have gypsy schnitzel on the menu 😁).

Food is very good. However, the service was hopeless. You have to speak of luck when a waiter accidentally visits the table. Hours pass. Nobody in sight. Added to this is the fact that the waiter doesn't understand what you want from him. The order is either misunderstood or simply forgotten. It's actually a shame. The store is ruined because of such staff. We ran out of patience and just wanted to leave.

Unfortunately we weren't that happy with the food. My steak was cold, drinks were not brought despite repeated reminders, and a dessert was brought incorrectly. A meal was ordered lactose-free, but the normal version came. Despite repeated requests, the lactose-free sauce version that was ordered was not brought.

Unfortunately my onion steak was very thin, so it was overcooked and very dry.

I'm irritated. I was expecting good food and a relaxing evening. It wasn't actually a very stressful day at the restaurant, I would say. I know the service, she is actually friendly and competent. Today we had watery Vitello tonato for just under 15.00. The main courses arrived after waiting over an hour. One, fillet steak and side dishes, arrived cold. The request to keep it warm didn't seem to be well received. The amount of meat was stated as 200 g. I would expect one piece at that point in the price range, it came in three very small pieces - at least doubtful whether the quantity stated was correct. But at least it warmed up the second time. The second main course came without any garnish and just seemed carelessly "thrown" onto the plate. Both taste solid, not outstanding. Within the two hours we were asked once if we would like something more to drink. No coffee was offered, no dessert. The bill was over 100 euros, including a third main course and ice cream. The tip was therefore rather poor because the service was below average - not even trying. We weren't even told goodbye when we left. Overall I'm disappointed with this experience and I think we won't be back.

Nice ambience, friendly service, undisturbed dining is possible in almost all seats thanks to the structure of the restaurant, guests have been there since the restaurant opened, reservations are always possible at short notice, very good food, have never had anything while visiting the restaurant in all these years Complaints about eating! Unfortunately, the portions have become smaller recently, but that doesn't bother me, but for good eaters a larger side dish would be recommended (chips or rice aren't that expensive). We always enjoy visiting the restaurant

I give one star for each piece of super tender meat with my main course, and I had 5 pieces of meat ;) Besides the perfectly grilled food, there is a wonderfully hospitable atmosphere at El Toro. The mix grill is highly recommended, I will definitely come back here!

Essen war gut und lecker. Leider war viel Platz auf dem Teller frei, für haben leider 7 von 8 Personen noch Hunger gehabt, sogar nach dem Nachtisch. Ich habe den Kellner sogar angesprochen das das Essen etwas wenig sei. Man Lacht darüber aber wenn man über 250 Euro hier lässt und man hat noch Hunger ist das nicht schön.

The food here is simply fantastic! Every meal is made with fresh ingredients and you can taste the attention to detail in every bite. The flavors are perfectly balanced, whether you choose something savory or something lighter. I was particularly impressed by the creative dishes, which are not only a visual highlight but also taste great. A real treat – absolutely recommended!

Hier kann man gut zu jeder Zeit hingehen egal ob Morgens,Mittags oder Abends aber ihr müsst wirklich Hunger mitbringen. Egal mit wem ihr hier seit es ist einfach toll. Das Essen ist mega lecker und macht definitiv satt. Die Getränke haben perfekte Größen und wie das alles gestaltet ist ist wirklich inspirierend. Kommt drauf an was man nimmt kann man sich auch einen Salat nehmen und es ist euch überlassen ob die Schüssel ganz voll,zur Hälfte oder vllt auch nur ein bssl voll ist. Aber das war noch nd alles das beste kommt ja noch. Bei manchen ist die Freundlichkeit ja nd gerade eine Stärke aber hier sind alle wirklich super nett und obwohl meine Mom und ich keinen Nachtisch bestellt haben, haben wir trotzdem einen bekommen also schnappt euch eure liebsten und kommt hierhin. Lasst dann gerne auch eine Bewertung da.

I've never experienced anything so unfriendly before. We were simply turned away with the statement that it would be closed from 8 p.m. Even the guests sitting there were amazed. All restaurants in the city would be closed at 8 p.m., the good man probably doesn't like children. We wanted to have a table with our 10 year old daughter and there were still tables available.

Good value for money. The meat (Chateaubriand) was perfect as always.

We ate at El Toro today with 4 adults and 4 children. The menu on the door was quite appealing to us, so we stopped in spontaneously. We were a little worried about going out to eat with 4 small children, but we felt very welcome. Since the meal took a little longer, the children became a little restless and sometimes ran around. The cellar was very nice, often apologized for the waiting time and never gave me a bad feeling for a second that my little one didn't want to sit. Although it was not included in the children's menu, there was also a small dessert for the children and they were also allowed to snack on the salad. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome here with our children! Unfortunately, this is often not a given in Germany. The food was very tasty and we would like to come back if the opportunity arises.

The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed to me, too many guests at once. (Due to several Christmas parties!?) But, the food, even if it took longer, was worth the wait. The friendliness of the owner, who also provided service, was always friendly and accommodating despite the stress. I would be happy to visit this restaurant again.

It's a real shame that this was once a really good restaurant and is now something overpriced. The service is terrible, the ambience has just aged for about 10 years, even the lighting hasn't been serviced in years. The menu was reduced to include the best there was. Well, the food is no longer what it should be. Sauce from the Tatra Pack, mushrooms that came tastefully from the grill are just history Conclusion: The food you get there isn't any worse in the snack bar, but it's significantly cheaper. Eltoro is just a huge one Disappointment. Absolutely not recommended by me!!! P.S. I frequented this restaurant for 35 years.

I've driven past it many times, finally tried it today and haven't regretted anything. A really solid steakhouse without any newfangled frills. The lunch menu is extensive with fair prices. The meat was perfect, with a delicious grilled aroma, the side dishes were on point, the portions were reasonable, not too much, not too little. The service was particularly child-friendly. We will be back definitely!

Nice atmosphere. Service a bit slow but still ok. I used to love being here. Now I was there again after a long time. Both steaks were absolutely bland in taste and a bit tough. The sauces didn't taste like anything either. Even the baked potato tasted kind of weird. Unfortunately I won't be coming back.

We have eaten at the steakhouse “El Toro” in Jülich several times. The reception is always very nice and the table allocation is very quick. Unfortunately, the service has declined over time... I last had dinner there on my birthday in February of this year and was unfortunately very disappointed, so we even ended the evening there earlier than planned. I ordered a Fanta shortly after arriving. I got a 200ml bottle and glass. The fact that such small bottles are now distributed seems to be the norm in the catering industry - I can understand the reasoning behind it (that the guest then orders a "larger" drink). In my personal opinion, however, 200ml is a disgrace to the guest - I drink that away in one sip... However, this makes it very difficult to divide up the drink, so after visiting the salad bar and then eating the salad, it was empty quite quickly. Before the main course came, I ordered a larger drink. The main course followed 10 minutes later and when I asked where the drink was, I was told "coming soon". Long story short, no drink came for the next 20 minutes, so I had to eat my main course "dry" - unfortunately, of course, I couldn't toast. After we got our main course, there was no waiter near us for about 25 minutes that we could have asked again. The restaurant is also very large and has some corners at the back, so that my companions increasingly had the feeling of being ignored. Nobody came and asked if everything was OK (the restaurant wasn't particularly full at that time either). After almost 35/40 minutes a waiter came to clear the empty plates of the main course. Here the topic of the drink was brought up again but we angrily said no and wanted the bill. Shortly afterwards we left. Could I have gotten up and found a waiter to get a drink? Surely. But is it my job as a guest? Certainly not. Unfortunately, I didn't feel very comfortable as a guest and was also disappointed that my birthday this year ended in the evening. Next year we will definitely eat somewhere else.

Conditions does not understand German or English. You couldn't pay separately. Steak was just like a charcoal overcooked. Thanks for the GREAT service.

We had reserved a table for Easter Sunday for 2 p.m. with 7 people. Even though all the tables were occupied, we were served immediately and very well. The drinks and food were served to us quickly! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We have been visiting this restaurant for over 30 years and the quality has remained consistent 100%. We can highly recommend!

The food was delicious and came to the table warm. Service friendly and accommodating. Salad buffet rich and varied.

The 200g beef fillet was tasty but, despite the additional soup, the portion was so small that a grown man couldn't get enough of it. Fermented beetroot from the salad buffet completely spoiled my visit. Who knows how long it was allowed to languish there. The complaint was blocked: 25 chefs confirmed that the beetroot was OK. The atmosphere is rather cramped and through a break in the wall you can see directly onto the neighbors' table.

Very nice atmosphere, salad bar has enough selection. Food came incomplete. After several requests from various waiters, the missing side dish arrived. But the food was already cold by then. To make matters worse, the missing supplement was then charged extra. If we hadn't noticed it on the bill, it would have passed like that. Keep the prices a little high for the portion sizes. Unfortunately, the probability of another visit is less than 50%

I was in this restaurant for the first time today and it was simply fantastic. The food was really fantastic. Very nice and courteous service. I'm totally thrilled and have absolutely nothing to complain about.

It's a real shame, but we definitely won't come again: The reception was very nice and table allocation was quick. The order came after about 20 minutes… everything was great until I tried the fried potatoes. Unfortunately totally pissed! Definitely not freshly prepared. After a complaint and a wait of another 10 minutes, my plate with really freshly made potatoes was brought to me. No real reaction from the waiter. From this point on our table was simply “overlooked” and no further drinks could be ordered. Well, it's a shame. We won't come again

We ate there last night and it definitely won't be the last time

I ordered a sirloin steak and fries. First the dish came with lukewarm fries. After the complaint, fries arrived but the steak was now only luke warm. After complaining again, everything came back, but now the steak was cooked through and not medium as ordered. I've been a customer for years, but not anymore. Won't go there anymore.

Heute waren wir wieder einmal lecker im El Toro essen. Die Bedienung ist ,wie immer , sehr freundlich und zügig beim bedienen.

Mein Essen (Leber)war leider kalt und der Reis unerwartet sauer. Habe dies auch dem Kellner gesagt. Er hat dich dafür entschuldigt. Weiter würde aber nichts getan. Grillgemüse war lecker.

Silvesterabend, Katastrophe in Sachen Service! Essen ok, Getränke dauern endlos.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal dort und sind eine Stunde aus der Eifel angefahren. Wir waren voll kommen zu Frieden. Die Steaks waren super auf den Punkt gebraten und genau so der Grilllachs. Auch der Service war super immer jemand in der Nähe man wird hier vom gleichen Kellner bedient was wir sehr gut finden. Wir kommen wieder .

Preis Leistung ist gut. Zum Wildgulasch hätte man Preiselbeeren erwartet. Spätzle waren aus, dafür gab es Nudeln. Das Essen war von der Qualität ehr durchschnittlich. Zum Nachtisch gab es Schokoladenpudding mit Sahne. Dieser war meiner Meinung nach nicht selbst gemacht.

Guter freundlicher und flotter Service... waren zu viert dort. Alle rundum zufrieden. Sehr gut gegessen. Preis/Leistung stimmt

Besuch Freitag Abend mit 4 Personen. Sehr positiv. Der Service war hervorragend. Sehr schnell, sehr aufmerksam. Unser Kellner hatte Spaß an dem Job und das merkt man. Sehr aufmerksam, Getränke kamen schnell, Essen zügig und zeitgleich. Nette Atmosphäre, gut passend für ein Steakhouse. Salatbuffet frisch und vielfältig. Alle Speisen sehr schmackhaft, Steaks wirklich auf den Punkt zubereitet. Nichts extrem aussergewöhnliches, muss es aber hier auch nicht. Für ein Steakhouse alles stimmig und passend. Nochmals Lob an den Service! Kommen gerne wieder

Wenn ich könnte würde ich sechs Sterne vergeben. Um längen besser als ein Standard Steakhaus. Das Essen war perfekt und dazu noch top angerichtet. Sehr lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Absolut empfehlenswert!!

Mit Abstand das beste Salatbuffet, welches ich erkenne. Auch die Bedienung ist immer freundlich und mit Freude bei der Arbeit.

Kann man hingehen.. Essen ist ganz okay, nichts besonderes. Preisleistung ist eher verbesserungswürdig, wir würden nicht noch mal dahingehen

Habe wieder das selbe Fleisch bestellt; Grüße an die Küche - super Qualität, geschmacklich Mega und auf den Punkt gebraten. ______ Gehe oft Fleisch essen. War hier total überrascht: Hatte ein Hüftsteak (3oo g) mit Pommes gehabt. Auf den Punkt gegart - Mega lecker - definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal hier. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Gibt 5/5 Sterne von mir ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wir haben zwei Stunden vorher einen Tisch bestellt was keinerlei Problem darstellte. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich und lädt zum Bleiben ein. Das Personal war sehr höflich und bemüht das es uns gut ging. Das Essen war rundherum klasse. Die Steaks waren auf den Punkt gegart. Die Beilagen waren ebenso sehr gut. Es war fast ausgebucht und trotzdem kam das Essen sehr zügig ohne lange Wartezeit. Also für uns war es ein rundum gelungener Abend mit einem äußerst schmackhaften Essen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Danke an das gesamte Personal.

Nice place in Jülich, near Köln. For the meat lover. The quality of the food is high and the filet with green pepper I had was cook to perfection. Kind and friendly personnel. They are not German... To go back if there is the occasion... Good experience.

Wir haben kurzfristig einen tisch reserviert(eine stunde vorher) aber trotzdem noch einen bekommen, obwohl der laden fast voll war. vor ort sind wir direkt in empfang genommen und freundlich begrüßt worden. das lokal ist schön hell und im typischen stil von kroatisch angehauchten steakhäusern, sehr gemütlich-die salatbar ist groß, es gibt reichlich auswahl, von normalem salat bis kartoffelsalat, alles was wir probiert haben war sehr lecker.lediglich die salatschüsseln könnten einmal erneuert oder besser getrocknet werden. an den getränken lässt sich auch nicht bemängeln, egal ob softdrinks, weine, kaffee oder biere.erfreulich ist dass man hier mal eine auswahl hat zwischen trockenen und lieblichen weinen, das gibts ja leider nicht überall. die auswahl an gerichten ist wirklich recht groß, jeder wird hier etwas finden. Zu essen hatten wir einmal überbackene filetmedaillions mit kroketten und pilzen, die pilze waren (und das sage ich als jemand mit abneigung zu pilzen) echt hervorragend, top konsistenz, keine dosenpilze sondern frische und perfekt gewürzt. die kroketten waren auch gut, das fleisch vom garpunkt realtiv gut getroffen, nur etwas übersalzt. zum anderen gab es ein 300 g rumpsteak mit pommes und kräuterbutter, die pommes waren qualitativ gut, die butter ebenso, das fleisch auf den punkt gebraten und von guter qualität. auch die wartezeit hilet sich in grenzen, trotz komplett gefülltem lokal nur ca 30 minuten, was absolut in ordnung ist zur hochmittagszeit. die kellner waren freundlich und bemüht, immer unterwegs und schnell am tisch wenn getränke leer waren, lediglich der chefkeller könnte vielleicht mal was lächeln =) ansonsten war der tip von privat dem wir gefolgt sind wirklich gut und wir hatten einen schönen nachmittag mit einem richtig leckeren essen. die preise waren leicht überm schnitt aber immer noch absolut im rahmen, das zahlt man gerne wenn man gutes essen bekommt. insgesamt ein solides restaurant wo nahezu jeder mal gut essen gehen kann,gehen wir also bestimmt nochmal hin.

Ich muss leider sagen, das ich nicht so begeistert war. Der Spinat war leicht verbrannt und die Pommes haben überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Der Rest war ganz gut. Ist aber jetzt das zweite Mal, im größeren Abstand, das mich das Essen nicht überzeugt hat. Schade. Ambiente ist echt sehr schön dort.
