Das Essen war sehr lecker. Auch wenn wir 1 Stunde darauf warten mussten. Die Bedienung war nicht sehr aufmerksam.

Haben mal wieder einen sehr schönen Abend bei El Greco auf der großen überdachten Terrasse verbracht. Die Gerichte waren wie in Griechenland, einfach köstlich. Der Calamari echt wunderbar. Der Suflakispieß weich und saftig. Ein frischer Salat und eine kleine Vorspeisenplatte mit selbstgebackenem Brot vom Haus wurden vorab gereicht. Wir bekamen am Anfang auch einen leckeren Hauseigenen Fruchtschnaps und als Abschluss beim Bezahlen noch einen guten Ouzo. Hier geht man gerne griechisch Essen.........

Es war einfach toll. Seit 25 Jahren in Avenwedde, das spricht Bände.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal im El Greco in Gütersloh essen und sind absolut begeistert! Das Personal war super freundlich, aufmerksam und man hat sich direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Essen war wirklich top – ich hatte den Filetteller mit Lamm- und Rinderfilet und das Fleisch war einfach perfekt. Sehr zart, super gewürzt und auf den Punkt gegart. Auch die Vorspeisen waren richtig lecker und die Salate frisch und sehr gut gemacht. Auf das El Greco aufmerksam geworden sind wir übrigens durch eine Empfehlung aus dem Acheron in Dresden – und wir können nur sagen: Die Empfehlung hat sich absolut gelohnt! Wir werden jetzt definitiv öfter ins El Greco kommen. Klare 5 Sterne!

Unser absoluter Lieblings-Grieche Wir hatten die Vorspeisenplatte und das Gyros überbacken – und es war einfach ein Traum! Die Vorspeisen waren super frisch, abwechslungsreich und perfekt gewürzt. Jede einzelne Komponente war richtig lecker. Das Gyros überbacken war auf den Punkt: saftig, zartes Fleisch, herrlich gewürzt und mit einer richtig cremigen, goldbraun überbackenen Kruste – einfach mega! Dazu der unglaublich nette und aufmerksame Service – herzlich, freundlich und man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Für uns ganz klar: 5 Sterne und eine riesige Empfehlung! Wir kommen immer wieder

Soweit ein schönes Restaurant. Leider stimmt das Pres-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht. Ein Gyros-Teller (Menue29) für über 25€ das ist ziemlich fett. Vor einem Jahr hat der gleiche Teller keine 20€ gekostet, war reichlicher gefüllt und Zaziki war auch dabei. Dafür fahre ich nicht mehr nach Friedrichsdorf.

Wir haben drei verschiedene Gerichte gehabt, die alle sehr lecker waren. Vorweg gab es eine gemischte Vorspeisenplatte, die für eine Person gedacht war. Diese hat für 4 Personen gereicht. Gut große Portionen. Sehr netter Service. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Der Grieche war super, als die Küche wieder lief kam die Bestellung sehr zügig. Das Essen war Griechisch lecker aber nicht sehr besonders.

We had reserved a table for 6 pm. There were problems with the electricity at the beginning, which delayed everything. The service was infrequent for our group of 20. The restaurant was quite full, which was somewhat forgivable. What wasn't okay, however, was that we ordered something and it never arrived, or that they simply brought us something that no one had ordered. The food was alright—nothing more, nothing less. We received our appetizers in three separate batches instead of all at once. The price-performance ratio didn't quite meet my expectations, and the apologies for the inconvenience were brief. Simply putting out some bread to appease us about the kitchen wasn't an option. A few of us left at 9 pm without having received our main courses. The food arrived around 9:30 pm, and even then, only in dribs and drabs—while some were almost finished, others had only just received their food.

Everything was okay. Unfortunately, it wasn't to my taste. The beetroot was too sweet and salty. The side salad tasted like vinegar on salad. The fish dish was very tasty, except for the olive oil. That wasn't to my taste at all, unfortunately. Otherwise, it was great. The service was super friendly. The atmosphere was also very nice.

The quality of the food was rather below average – the salad with the stalk was particularly disappointing. The service seemed unfriendly at times, which further spoiled the experience. Afterwards, they also tried to charge extra for something that was completely incomprehensible. Overall, unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was outstanding: freshly prepared, perfectly balanced in flavor, and beautifully presented. Everything is just perfect here – from the atmosphere to the team to the quality of the food. The staff was friendly but inattentive. The food was underseasoned and average. Not good for the price. But the atmosphere was nice.

Great restaurant, lovely ambiance, delicious, and plentiful food. We've rarely had such a good starter platter. Our four-legged friends were also greeted very warmly and were immediately brought fresh water.

We love Greek food and have been to a few restaurants, but El Greco is something special for us! Great atmosphere and exceptionally friendly staff! We recommend everyone to eat there at least once! We've rarely eaten such good and filling meals! El Greco, keep up the good work!

We ordered an appetizer platter for 4 people in advance for 5 people (it was more than enough). I ordered the Piato plate. Instead of the Suzuki, I wanted a souvlaki, which surprisingly cost extra. I wasn't expecting this, as I had substituted one protein for another and wasn't informed about it. The side dishes (fries and rice) were a bit too small. The side salad was missing a dressing. The gyro portion was good. I enjoyed everything (except the salad). The service was fine, except for the lack of notice about the surcharge.

It was a wonderful evening, the food was, as always, delicious. The meat is grilled to perfection. The service was super friendly and quick.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my visit to this restaurant at all. Everything was lacking – warmth, professionalism, and, above all, respectful treatment of guests. When I go to Greek food, I expect a certain level of hospitality and atmosphere – there was none of that here. The service was a disaster. Criticism isn't taken seriously, but is dismissed with rude, sometimes cheeky comments. In our case, a legitimate complaint was even met with loud and insulting language – completely inappropriate and shameful. The behavior of the senior (owner or not, that's beside the point) was embarrassing and anything but hospitable. A questionable picture emerges online, too: The owner's responses to Google reviews often seem mocking, insulting, or defensive – instead of honestly addressing criticism, they ridicule it. This is not only unprofessional, but also extremely unpleasant for potential guests. The food itself was mediocre—okay, but nothing that could make up for the rest of the experience. We left after the appetizer. It's clear to me: There won't be a second visit.

We have been to this great restaurant several times. It always tastes great, the staff is very nice. It's better to reserve a table.

Visited El Greco's earlier today and received a lovely welcome from the staff and owner... Great to have been able to go as our last visit was 20 years ago... Thank you and our food was delicious, we ate it on the train back to Berlin 😊

Unfortunately been disappointed several times; Everyone has a bad day sometimes; But it won't be my shop; Something went wrong on four visits; That can't be a coincidence. It's a shame ☹️ Due to the “nice reaction” of the owner (yes we said something every time & we like to give everyone more than a second chance) it now costs another star; sorry but the answer after such a long time was “not necessary”

Been there several times and today with the family. As always, very friendly and attentive staff, the food is very good, and special requests are also taken into account. The price/performance ratio is very good. I can only recommend the ElGreco.

The beef fillet was a disgrace because the meat was very mixed and it wasn't possible at all.

Very nice service, food and drink delivered quickly, I ordered a beef fillet and it was perfect medium rare, just the way you love it. However, especially with such an expensive piece of meat, one could have asked how it should be, since some people just like it differently... Still 5 stars, a great restaurant with nice service! So what should I write... The food is great, on site in the winter garden is great. Pick up is great. But, as a family man and therefore as the person who gets to eat the leftovers: the children's meal is homemade chicken nuggets. And they are so damn good. From these you can draw conclusions about the entire offer. So much effort for the little ones, then you can imagine that everything is fine. Just really, really good and tasty.

Unfortunately we had to wait two hours for the main course. A mood killer...

Getting a table at El Greco on a Saturday in the blue haze is almost impossible. So you book in advance... and enter a restaurant whose atmosphere is simply appealing and cozy at the same time. Pleasantly separated from the guests at the neighboring table, you can have proper conversations without having to get loud. Fits! The starter was Mezedes and although this starter platter is designed for one person, it is a good idea to share it between two people. After all, the main course should still be good. The starter platter was excellent and gave hope for a brilliant main course. But that was... nothing. “Piato Alex” was the name of the record of my desires, because I like double Ls: lamb and liver. For a flaky €26.70 there was a fried piece of liver, 1 dry piece of pork steak, lightly seasoned Suzuki, 2 overly long-fried lamb chops and a few pieces of gyros. Plus the usual, boring side salad with a touch of dressing invisibly present... and... believe it or not: pretty decent steakhouse fries. Of course, without the mayonnaise that was ordered at the same time, which only arrived at the end of the fries. If I compare the starter and main course in terms of quality and price, then I got a really first-class starter at a good price... and the main course was poor meat at an outrageously high price. You could almost believe that the two dishes come from different cuisines. Conclusion: The starter was never eel... but the main course was an overpriced impudence! Sad...for a restaurant that actually has a good reputation. However, I wonder: why?

Fantastic food and authentic atmosphere! I loved my visit to this restaurant! The food was fresh, tasty and authentic – the souvlaki in particular was an absolute highlight. The portions were generous and the ingredients were of great quality. The atmosphere is cozy, with loving details in the decoration. The service was friendly, attentive and ensured that we felt completely comfortable. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Greek cuisine or wants to experience it. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The food was really good. We all had fish dishes. The portions were large and sufficient. Before the meal there was salad and bread and at the end an ouzo. I have visited the restaurant several times and will continue to do so.

It was a successful birthday party at El Greco in Avenwedde-Bahnhof. Our experience shows that the restaurant impresses with both service and ambience. Here is a short summary for others who are interested: Service: Attentive and polite service, quick organization (e.g. champagne reception). Decoration: Lovingly designed table. Food: Satisfaction from all guests, including vegetarian options. Price: Reasonable, around €25 per person (excluding drinks). Recommendation: table reservations, especially on public holidays. Extras: Beautiful garden area, usable even in winter. Accessibility: Sufficient parking spaces, good connections to public transport. - Gladly again.

I'm in transit. I found the restaurant quite by chance. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed like a guest. The food came very quickly and was excellent. The service actually deserves 10 🌟. And the best: I ordered a little extra and didn't find it on the bill. Our Greek in Westerkappeln has to control himself so that he doesn't charge anything extra for "good day" and "goodbye". I felt very comfortable here!!!! Thanks!!!

Coming from Greece, I am always very skeptical about greek restaurants abroad. More than one people recommended me El Greco and the restaurant honestly exceeded the expectations. Great ambiance, very friendly owners, great service, but most importantly great food. The taste, the quality, everything! All in all a very positive and highly recommended experience!

Nicely decorated restaurant. You immediately feel at home. The winter garden is also beautiful. Typical Greek menu, unfortunately the meat was absolutely dry and not really tasty. Portion size was okay. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very friendly either. When we asked if we could take the food with us, an empty box was placed in front of us and we were able to fill it in ourselves.

It was actually quite ok, but the restaurant has a good reputation. However, I wasn't quite as satisfied. The wrong drinks were brought (red instead of white wine, non-alcoholic shandy instead of beer). Positively, they were exchanged immediately without any ifs or buts. Still, that shouldn't happen. I wasn't that thrilled with my meat dish (Gyros not crispy, a bit bland, Suflaki dry), but my other companions were very happy. Maybe it was just a bad day, as the reputation is actually pretty good. But I'll go again, let's see.

We recently celebrated our daughter's baptism at this wonderful restaurant and absolutely loved it! From start to finish everything was perfect. The decoration was loving and stylish, which perfectly underlined the festive atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and professional - we felt well looked after. The food was a highlight of the day: every course was a culinary masterpiece, superbly presented and deliciously prepared. We were particularly impressed by the variety of dishes on offer, which also offered a great selection for our vegetarian guests. The quality and taste of the food was simply first class. The organization and planning of the celebration also went smoothly. The team was extremely flexible and responded to all of our wishes and needs. Our guests have consistently commented positively on the ambience and service.
