BEI STAVROS in Gütersloh

We picked up our food. The gyros were dry, the salad was inedible. Everything was covered in grease and dripping. The bag was completely soaked. Afterward, we had to wipe it down.

First time there. The saying is true here: Come as a guest, leave as a friend. Great food, great service. The food was tasty, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Great value for money. The beer garden is super nice. Plenty of parking. Easily accessible by bike or car. We'd love to come back.

We stopped spontaneously on our bike ride. We received a very friendly welcome. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great and friendly. We've already said we'll be back. The place is clean.

New Year's Eve 2024. We – a group of seven people – were here for the first time on New Year's Eve and were more than disappointed. The service, which is so highly praised here, was a complete disaster. But let's take it step by step. 1. We were assigned our table and sat down. After about 10 minutes, a lady came over and asked what we wanted to drink. So far, so good, but we didn't even get a drinks menu? After asking which red wine they were offering, one (one!) menu was brought. However, it was then taken away after we selected the wine. After the drinks were served about five minutes later, the waitress simply said casually, "The menus will be here soon." 2. After the menus were handed out about 15 minutes after the drinks, and we chose the respective dishes, the manager (Christiane?) came over with her notepad and wrote down the respective dishes. We ordered a gyro plate with rice, the pork medallions in Metaxa sauce, the Rhodes plate, the beef fillet, and the Gemista (stuffed peppers and tomatoes). 3. The food arrived within a reasonable time (about 30 minutes) and was tidied up by various appetizers (grilled peppers, broad beans). 4. The meal itself was, unfortunately, a complete disaster. I absolutely cannot understand the positive reviews. The potatoes were so soft and bland they were almost mashed. The tomato rice unfortunately had a very vinegary taste. The beef fillet was 1/4 medium and 3/4 more than well done. The taste was also not at all convincing. The only edible items were the fries and the gyro. 5. After we complained that the vegetarian dish (Gemista) couldn't be distorted (peppers and tomatoes filled with "vinegar rice"), the boss's only response was "There's nothing you can do"... Excuse me? No apology? No justification? That's definitely not good service. 6. When we paid, the boss only offered to deduct €10 from the total amount with an offended "grumble." Conclusion: Absolutely abysmal service. A disaster in terms of taste. I don't know if it was New Year's Eve (it wasn't that busy in the end anyway...) or simply a bad day. But this attitude from the boss has nothing to do with good service. Good service is characterized by being able to handle criticism well, and that was definitely not the case here.

Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing overall. The rice was mushy, the potatoes completely overcooked – simply inedible. When I mentioned this to the waitress, there was no apology, just the rude comment: "There's nothing you can do." Although I hadn't ordered a steak, a fellow guest at the table was particularly disappointed: The steak, ordered medium, arrived cooked like a tough shoe sole – simply an outrage. On a positive note, I would like to mention that the chef's welcome dish included delicious zucchini fritters. These were truly delicious and provided a great start to the evening – it's a shame the main courses couldn't keep up. Despite everything, we were ultimately charged the full price, which is completely incomprehensible given the quality and the lack of handling of criticism. There's a lot of room to improve here.

Once and never again. Unfortunately. It was our first time there. The ambiance is rustic and has a certain something. We liked it. There was a special "Greetings from the House," which was delicious. We were looking forward to more. At first, the waitress, Christiane, was also very nice and chatted with us. When the food arrived, however, we were in for a huge disappointment. The beef fillet was supposed to be medium, but it was completely overcooked and incredibly tough. Outrageous for €22. The gyro was delicious, but the Greek baked potatoes were so floury that they were simply inedible. We also had the Djuvec rice, which tasted absolutely disgusting. Far too mushy and overpowered by vinegar. It was simply inedible. One guest had a vegetarian version filled with peppers and rice. This was uneatable because it was inedible. After we brought it up, the response was very snippy: "There's nothing you can do." We were shocked. The waitress didn't say a word to us after that. When we wanted to pay, they simply charged us the full price, even though only two of the five dishes were "edible." When we complained, they just asked why. Simply unfriendly to customers. I can't understand all these good reviews. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend them.

"Bei Stavros" is a charming, home-style Greek restaurant in Friedrichsdorf. The husband and wife owners impress with their attentive, friendly, and competent manner, making guests feel immediately at home. Prices for the dishes are moderate, at around €15 per meal without drinks. Of particular note is the cozy garden area, which offers an inviting atmosphere in the summer with parasols. Ample parking is also available. A place you'll gladly return to!

The dishes were very tasty, the service was friendly, the decor was rustic but comfortable. The chef knows what he's doing. We would be happy to come back.

If I go out for Greek food with my family, it's here. The owner and his wife are very nice people. Every meal comes with a greeting from the kitchen and a salad. I was full every time and it tasted delicious every time. A big recommendation!

Great service and it's always fun to eat and drink there with friends because the boss is very attentive and he's always very funny!

Went to dinner in the beer garden on a Saturday evening. Very nice atmosphere with attention to detail, flowers and lighting, everything is very inviting. The interior was also very cozy and decorated and lit with a lot of love. Service and owner couple were wonderful and very personable. The food was very tasty, with even a free starter as a greeting from the kitchen. Ouzo was also included. Portions are plentiful, so only go there if you're hungry. We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back.

Family business with committed, friendly innkeepers, the kitchen is open all day on Sundays. We sat in the small beer garden and were able to enjoy a very tasty and richly prepared Greek meal in the afternoon: super tender lamb skewers, potato gratin with feta and salad, as well as pork fillet with feta cheese and Greek baked potatoes and salad. As a greeting from the kitchen there was home-baked bread with tzatziki. We were completely satisfied

A pretty garden for the summer, courteous service, the Greek food is good and you'll be full. Costs around €16 dry. Recommended.

Ein Ouzo aufs Haus, dann eine kleine Vorspeise aufs Haus. Das ganze Umfeld freundlich und schön. Getränke kamen immer sehr schnell und das Essen war sehr lecker. Nach dem Essen gab es noch einen leckeren Ouzo aufs Haus. Alle waren sehr freundlich und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!

Olalaa, that was delicious! I had Pieperato - highly recommended! The scenery with the supporting vaults adds to the feeling of well-being, as does the traditional La^ika music.

Yesterday I was “at Stavros”. The hosts Stavros and Christiane are warm, friendly people. They take care of the wishes of the guests. Orders were taken quickly and service was excellent. The food was very tasty and at a reasonable price. The restaurant is a bit older, but is very cozy and stylishly furnished. Absolutely recommended! I will gladly come again!

Die Einrichtung ist nicht die neuste, sie hat den Charakter einer Dorfgaststätte, was das "Bei Stavros" letztendlich ja auch ist. Aber es ist alles ordentlich, sauber und mit Hingabe gepflegt. Es passt zu den Wirtsleuten, die ebenso mit Hingabe ihre Gaststätte führen. Und der schöne Biergarten ist ein Ort, den man im Sommer ausnutzen sollte. Das Essen ist gut und nie zu wenig, wir war immer zufrieden. Das Lokal hätte mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient, aber es liegt nun einmal nicht an der Hauptstraße, wo mehr Durchgangsverkehr darauf aufmerksam werden könnte. Aus reinem Egoismus: Das ist gut so.

Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker, preislich ebenso unschlagbar. Der Chef und die Bedienung sind beide überaus aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist schon etwas älter, doch das ganze Restaurant sehr gepflegt und sauber. Bestellt haben wir die Empfehlung des Hauses für zwei Personen..... Wir kommen wieder 😊😊 sobald der Biergarten auf hat ☀️

Man fühlt sich auf Anhieb wohl. Sehr freundlicher Wirt, tolle Atmosphäre, faire Preise, es wird auf Frische und Sauberkeit geachtet. Freundliches Personal, angenehm und auf Zack. Da gehe ich gerne wieder hin.

Das Essen ist einfach aber o.k.. Das Ambiente ist eher schlecht. Das Lokal ist alt und müsste dringend renoviert werden. Die Bedienung ist leider nicht auf zack.

Eine schönees griechisches Lokal mit Biergarten. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und vor und nach dem Essen gab es einen Ouzo aufs Haus. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Christiane und Stifti sind sehr nette Gastgeber. Das Essen ist reichlich und gut, ein großer Parkplatz hat genügend Platz für Autos und Fahrräder.

Die Kneipe ist etwas altbacken aber das Essen gut und der Service herzlich

Wir waren ein Mal da und ein zweites Mal nie wieder. An einem Feiertag absolute Leere, was uns schon stutzig werden lassen sollte. Das Essen hat überhaupt keinen von der Familie geschmeckt und selbst wenn es gratis gewesen wäre, würden wir kein weiteres Mal dort essen wollen. Daher gebe ich keine Sterne, würde sogar noch einen abziehen, wenn es ginge.

Das Essen war super lecker! Wir hatten einen Grillteller mit Gyrosfleisch und überbackenem Fetakäse. Das Grillfleisch hat uns echt überrascht, hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Pommes waren gut gewürzt und schön knusprig. Zu der Bestellung gab es Zucchinifrikadellen mit Selbstgemachtem Brot. War einfach fantastisch, immer wieder gern.

Auf einer Fahrradtour eine lecker kalte Meze-Platte zu zweit. Es war sehr lecker und wir waren gut gestärkt für die weitere Tour. Wir weden "Bei Stavros" in weitere Touren einplanen und vielleicht auch mal für ein Größeres Mal einkehren. Lohnt die weitere Erkundung!
