BEI STAVROS in Gütersloh

New Year's Eve 2024. We - a group of 7 people - were here for the first time on New Year's Eve and were more than disappointed. The service that was so praised here was a complete disaster. But preferably step by step. 1. We were assigned our table and sat down. After about 10 minutes a lady came and asked what we wanted to drink. So far so good, but how did we not even receive a drinks menu? After asking which red wine they would offer, a (1!) card was brought. This was then taken away again after the wine had been selected. After the drinks were served about 5 minutes later, the waitress just casually said "cards are coming soon". 2. After the menus were handed over about 15 minutes after the drinks and we picked out the respective dishes, the boss (Christiane?) came with her notepad and wrote down the respective dishes. We ordered a gyro plate with rice, the pork medallions in Metaxa sauce, the Rhodes plate, the beef fillet and the gemista (stuffed peppers and tomatoes). 3. The food was brought after a reasonable amount of time (approx. 30 minutes) and was bridged by various starters (grilled peppers, broad beans). 4. The food itself was unfortunately a complete disaster. I absolutely cannot understand the positive reviews. The potatoes were so soft and bland that they were almost like puree. Unfortunately, the tomato rice had a very “vinegar-heavy” taste. The beef fillet was 1/4 medium and 3/4 more than well done. The taste is also not convincing at all. The only edible things were the fries and the gyros. 5. After we complained that the vegetarian dish (Gemista) couldn't be distorted (peppers and tomatoes filled with the "vinegar rice"), the only response from the boss was "You can't do anything"... Excuse me? No apology ? No justification? This is definitely not a service. 6. When paying, the boss only wanted to reduce the total amount by 10 euros with an insulted "grumbling". Conclusion: Absolutely subterranean service. A disaster in terms of taste. I don't know if it was New Year's Eve (in the end it wasn't that crowded...) or just a bad day. But this attitude from the boss has nothing to do with good service. Good service comes when you deal with criticism well and that was definitely not the case here.

Unfortunately my visit was overall disappointing. The rice was mushy, the potatoes were completely overcooked - simply not edible. When I asked the waitress about it, there was no apology, only the rude comment: “There’s nothing you can do.” Although I didn't order a steak, a fellow guest at the table was particularly disappointed: the steak, ordered medium, came out cooked like a tough shoe sole - simply an imposition. On a positive note, I would like to mention that there were delicious zucchini meatballs as a greeting from the kitchen. These were really successful and provided a good start to the evening - it's a shame that the main courses couldn't keep up. Despite everything, we were charged the full price in the end, which is absolutely incomprehensible given this quality and the lack of handling of criticism. There is a lot of catching up to do here.

Once and never again. Unfortunately. We were there for the first time. The atmosphere is rustic and has something. We liked that. There was a greeting from the house, which was very tasty. We were looking forward to more. First of all, the waitress Christiane was also very nice and chatted with us. When the food came, however, it was a huge disappointment. The beef fillet was supposed to be medium rare, but it was completely overcooked and incredibly tough. For 22 euros outrageous. The gyros were delicious, but the Greek baked potatoes were so floury that they were simply inedible in the mouth. We had also had the Djuvec rice, which tasted just disgusting. Way too schlocky and trumped with vinegar. You just couldn't eat it. One guest had a vegetarian version filled with peppers and rice. This could not be eaten as it was inedible. After we talked about it, the answer was very flippant: "You can't do anything"... We were shocked. Afterwards the waitress didn't say a word to us. When we wanted to pay, they simply charged the full price even though only 2 of the 5 dishes were "edible". When we complained about this, we only asked why. Simply completely customer unfriendly. I find all these good reviews incomprehensible. Unfortunately no recommendation.

"Bei Stavros" is a charming, home-style Greek restaurant in Friedrichsdorf. The innkeeper couple impresses with their attentive, friendly and competent manner, which immediately makes guests feel at home. The prices for the food are moderate, at around €15 for a meal without drinks. Particularly noteworthy is the cozy garden area, which offers a welcoming atmosphere with parasols in summer. There are also sufficient parking spaces available. A place you'll love to visit again!

The dishes were very tasty, the service was friendly, the decor was rustic but comfortable. The chef knows what he's doing. We would be happy to come back.

If I go out for Greek food with my family, it's here. The owner and his wife are very nice people. Every meal comes with a greeting from the kitchen and a salad. I was full every time and it tasted delicious every time. A big recommendation!

Great service and it's always fun to eat and drink there with friends because the boss is very attentive and he's always very funny!

Went to dinner in the beer garden on a Saturday evening. Very nice atmosphere with attention to detail, flowers and lighting, everything is very inviting. The interior was also very cozy and decorated and lit with a lot of love. Service and owner couple were wonderful and very personable. The food was very tasty, with even a free starter as a greeting from the kitchen. Ouzo was also included. Portions are plentiful, so only go there if you're hungry. We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back.

A pretty garden for the summer, courteous service, the Greek food is good and you'll be full. Costs around €16 dry. Recommended.

Family business with committed, friendly innkeepers, the kitchen is open all day on Sundays. We sat in the small beer garden and were able to enjoy a very tasty and richly prepared Greek meal in the afternoon: super tender lamb skewers, potato gratin with feta and salad, as well as pork fillet with feta cheese and Greek baked potatoes and salad. As a greeting from the kitchen there was home-baked bread with tzatziki. We were completely satisfied

Ein Ouzo aufs Haus, dann eine kleine Vorspeise aufs Haus. Das ganze Umfeld freundlich und schön. Getränke kamen immer sehr schnell und das Essen war sehr lecker. Nach dem Essen gab es noch einen leckeren Ouzo aufs Haus. Alle waren sehr freundlich und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!

Olalaa, that was delicious! I had Pieperato - highly recommended! The scenery with the supporting vaults adds to the feeling of well-being, as does the traditional La^ika music.

Yesterday I was “at Stavros”. The hosts Stavros and Christiane are warm, friendly people. They take care of the wishes of the guests. Orders were taken quickly and service was excellent. The food was very tasty and at a reasonable price. The restaurant is a bit older, but is very cozy and stylishly furnished. Absolutely recommended! I will gladly come again!

Die Einrichtung ist nicht die neuste, sie hat den Charakter einer Dorfgaststätte, was das "Bei Stavros" letztendlich ja auch ist. Aber es ist alles ordentlich, sauber und mit Hingabe gepflegt. Es passt zu den Wirtsleuten, die ebenso mit Hingabe ihre Gaststätte führen. Und der schöne Biergarten ist ein Ort, den man im Sommer ausnutzen sollte. Das Essen ist gut und nie zu wenig, wir war immer zufrieden. Das Lokal hätte mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient, aber es liegt nun einmal nicht an der Hauptstraße, wo mehr Durchgangsverkehr darauf aufmerksam werden könnte. Aus reinem Egoismus: Das ist gut so.

Was für ein toller Wirt! Leckeres Essen, "urige Ambiente", wir kommen wieder, 100%!

Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker, preislich ebenso unschlagbar. Der Chef und die Bedienung sind beide überaus aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist schon etwas älter, doch das ganze Restaurant sehr gepflegt und sauber. Bestellt haben wir die Empfehlung des Hauses für zwei Personen..... Wir kommen wieder 😊😊 sobald der Biergarten auf hat ☀️

Man fühlt sich auf Anhieb wohl. Sehr freundlicher Wirt, tolle Atmosphäre, faire Preise, es wird auf Frische und Sauberkeit geachtet. Freundliches Personal, angenehm und auf Zack. Da gehe ich gerne wieder hin.

Das Essen ist einfach aber o.k.. Das Ambiente ist eher schlecht. Das Lokal ist alt und müsste dringend renoviert werden. Die Bedienung ist leider nicht auf zack.

Eine schönees griechisches Lokal mit Biergarten. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und vor und nach dem Essen gab es einen Ouzo aufs Haus. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Christiane und Stifti sind sehr nette Gastgeber. Das Essen ist reichlich und gut, ein großer Parkplatz hat genügend Platz für Autos und Fahrräder.

Die Kneipe ist etwas altbacken aber das Essen gut und der Service herzlich

Wir waren ein Mal da und ein zweites Mal nie wieder. An einem Feiertag absolute Leere, was uns schon stutzig werden lassen sollte. Das Essen hat überhaupt keinen von der Familie geschmeckt und selbst wenn es gratis gewesen wäre, würden wir kein weiteres Mal dort essen wollen. Daher gebe ich keine Sterne, würde sogar noch einen abziehen, wenn es ginge.

Das Essen war super lecker! Wir hatten einen Grillteller mit Gyrosfleisch und überbackenem Fetakäse. Das Grillfleisch hat uns echt überrascht, hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Pommes waren gut gewürzt und schön knusprig. Zu der Bestellung gab es Zucchinifrikadellen mit Selbstgemachtem Brot. War einfach fantastisch, immer wieder gern.

Auf einer Fahrradtour eine lecker kalte Meze-Platte zu zweit. Es war sehr lecker und wir waren gut gestärkt für die weitere Tour. Wir weden "Bei Stavros" in weitere Touren einplanen und vielleicht auch mal für ein Größeres Mal einkehren. Lohnt die weitere Erkundung!
