El Greco in Castrop-Rauxel

The food was lukewarm. One dish was missing and was brought later, but unfortunately, it was also lukewarm, and the schnitzel had a bad texture. I had to wait another 45 minutes for the replacement. I've been there three times now, and if I eat there again, it will only be this way. The delivery was unfortunately poor; what a shame.

A small, dirty place. The floor was filthy (a no-go, even shortly before closing time). The gyro box was edible, but it was overflowing with mayonnaise and sauce. It smelled of cigarette smoke inside. No wonder: A kitchen worker was sitting in the kitchen smoking with an ashtray in her hand. Last time we were there.

There are very delicious dishes.

Well, we ordered a taxi platter. The currywurst was more like a currywurst. The meat was dry and poorly seasoned. The fries were lacking salt; I initially wanted to go to the trouble of stacking the sausage pieces together. Simply overpriced.

We ordered through Lieferando, a dish was missing, then we called to get it, and then they didn't believe us. Everything was questioned ten times, then the driver of the missing delivery asked again if it was really true before handing out the food. It's sad that we weren't taken seriously.

Very good snack bar, with slightly higher prices. Still very tasty. The gyro, in particular, is incredibly good. The bowl of tzatziki for €4 is too expensive for me, as is the taxi plate. It used to be cheaper.

We ordered from there for the first time a month ago, and what can I say? It was the most delicious gyro we've had in a very long time! So delicious, in fact, that we ordered again a few days later. The coleslaw was also very good, but the portion of fries in the fries + currywurst was really tiny... Otherwise, it was very tasty and I highly recommend it! The cool thing is, you can order not only through Lieferando, but also through their own app! It's really convenient.

For the third time, there was no mayonnaise on the fries, and the tzatziki was forgotten. Last time we'll get food there.

First of all: Gyros is very tasty, and the liver plate was also tasty. We are disappointed that a large portion of fries appears to be the same as a gyro plate. The only difference is the packaging. There were already difficulties with the phone order; the employee had to ask several times. (This should be considered.) Our complaints: 1. The large portion of fries was exactly the same as the portion of the gyro plate. 2. No mayonnaise was provided for the gyro plate, but it was charged. We asked again by phone and were offered a refund for the mayonnaise - we could pick it up. No information was provided regarding questions about the individual prices of the ordered dishes. The employee was very rude - I was busy, so I hung up.

Hello! Unfortunately, my review today isn't so good; perhaps it was just a coincidence. We were customers of the old owners for years; for at least eight years, we ate there 2-3 times a month. So we wanted to give the new owners a chance, too, and they were doing well at first. Initially, the food was just as good as we were used to. The first thing we noticed was that the type of fries had changed relatively quickly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; we liked the old ones better. Furthermore, the bratwurst was replaced at some point, which we weren't enjoying as much anymore. Today we went back to give it a try. Last but not least, the gravy we once enjoyed so much was no longer there; it was very thin and watery. We don't need to say anything more about the portions, which have become very small. The prices, like everywhere else, have increased significantly, but the quality is unfortunately no longer comparable to what it used to be. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I have two opinions. I hope they all play better there.

There were two of us and we paid €20 for a schnitzel with fries and cream, and a gyro with fries. The staff were nice. The food was different: the schnitzel came with a cream sauce that had been warmed up in the microwave. It didn't taste as good (with cream sauce). I would personally recommend a regular schnitzel with fries. The gyro was hot, just like the rest. The atmosphere is like a typical Greek restaurant.

Ordered two gyrospitas to take away, pita was completely soggy from the wet, undrained coleslaw, gyros looked like cooked meat. It was also more expensive than anywhere else. I stopped there because my friend said it was a great Greek place. Yes, it probably used to be, but after the change of ownership it wasn't back yet. After trying it out and throwing it away immediately, my son and I agreed it was time for the next change of ownership

Meat completely inedible! Full of pieces of fat and not really cooked through in the middle. Fries completely soggy because they were put in the broth with the meat. selling undercooked meat is irresponsible!!!

After the change of ownership, everyone tastes much worse. The quality was also not very consistent, sometimes it was greasy, sometimes dry, sometimes the food was strangely sweet (gyros?!) Portions were smaller than before and have shrunk ever since. After years of only getting gyros here, we finally decided to look elsewhere. Too bad.

Very unfriendly owner… Unfortunately, more precise orders are not taken into account... For example, I ordered a gyrospita without onions! he topped them with onions! I pointed it out to him in a friendly manner, but he just kept talking to himself in Greek and then just passed it on to me…. When I refused to accept this. Did he grumpily give me a second one? However, this was extremely poorly documented! Customer-friendly is different!

Unfortunately I have to correct my rating downwards today!! Since the previous owners gave it away it has been just average!! Fries barely seasoned!! Gyros are sometimes dry!! And then the prices!!! They're awesome!! Quick tip: If you order via Lieferando, be careful how you order!!! My daughter was really looking forward to her bifteki plate (usually with fries, feta in the bifteki and tzatziki, that's how we know it!) unfortunately she ONLY got a bifteki with gouda in it, no fries etc. You have to click on everything separately!!!! Otherwise you pay €14 for the naked bifteki filled with gouda and a small salad (at least something for that price)!!!!!! You can't even choose whether you want Feta or Gouda in the bifteki!! And then that’s not a bifteki plate for me either 🤯🤯🤯 This is definitely the last time we have ordered or picked up something!! It was clear to us that the prices had to go up, but these are really prices to get rid of!!

Seit der Übernahme durch die neuen Besitzer hat sich der "El Greco Grill" erheblich verbessert. Der Imbiss wurde umgebaut und sieht jetzt ordentlich und einladend aus. Das Gyrosfleisch ist besonders lecker und die Currywurst sowie die Pommes sind ebenfalls sehr gut. Die Bedienung ist äußerst nett und freundlich, wodurch man sich sofort willkommen fühlt. Zudem wird man schnell bedient, was den gesamten Besuch sehr angenehm macht. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass jetzt sogar Kartenzahlung möglich ist. Insgesamt eine deutliche Verbesserung – sehr empfehlenswert!

Unfortunately, EL Greco is no longer what it was, the Gyros Pita no longer tastes the same as it did, the portion is very lean and the cucumbers and meat are saved. Service is great, the ambience is also great, but the food no longer suffers from the real thing, very disappointed

Ordered two dishes the day before yesterday. Less than 15 minutes later both were there. The food was hot and tasted great. The fries were still crispy, we were super happy!

The food doesn't even deserve one star. The gyro tastes dry and old. The fries are a pile of slush and nuggets were still raw. Really never again!!!!And that for the price. Simply outrageous.

Since the old operators gave it up, it's definitely not very good anymore. It used to be the best Greek chip shop. Now it's just average. The food is OK but everything has gone extremely bad. A snack that lacks love. The old owners were absolute professionals and really made the food something special, currently it's nothing special anymore.

So Leute beste Pizza von Castrop Rauxel kann euch die Gyros - Pizza nur empfehlen. Die neuen Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und geben sich sehr viel Mühe. Wirklich Leute der Weg lohnt sich dorthin.

Obwohl der Laden nur 5-10min (Fußweg) entfernt ist, hat es lange gedauert bis wir uns aufgerafft haben ihn zu testen. Kurz gesagt: Es war die beste Entscheidung! Mittlerweile gibt es für uns keinen anderen Griechen mehr. Das Essen ist super lecker, die Portionen sind Riesig, das Personal freundlich und auch die Preise gehen in anbetracht der Inflation voll klar. Das beste wie bereits oben erwähnt: maximal 10min Fußweg entfernt. PS: Ich habe noch nie irgendwo einen so guten Gyros Teller gegessen wie hier, absolut empfehlenswert!

Das erste Mal da gewessen von außen dachte ich erst naja sehr klein... Aber sehr nette Bezieher in. Erlich ich wusste nicht was ich nehmen soll weil man weiß nicht wie es schmeckt und wie groß die Portionen sind. Sie berit mich zum kleinen gyros ûberbacken dazu Pommes. Ich dachte bestimmt ist es nicht genug....... Aber ich bin eine gute Esser in und ich habe nicht alles geschafft. Und die metaxa Soße einfach der Hammer 5 Sterne. Einfach prima 👍 Preisleistung stimmt auch

Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Gyros war gut gewürzt und schön braun. Das Zaziki sehr lecker und die Pommer lecker cross.

El Greco Hebewerkstraße 16, 44581 Castrop-Rauxel: Das Fleisch (Gyrosteller) konnte ich nicht essen, da das versalzen, trocken und teilweise verbrannt war. Ob ich die Bude jemandem weiterempfehlen würde? Ganz eindeutig - Nein.

Ein kleiner gemütlicher Imbiss. Habe mir weil es ein griechischer Imbiss ist auch das gleichnamige Gericht bestellt " EL Greco" . Ist sehr lecker und reichhaltig.

Kleine, vom Eindruck her dreckige, griechische Pommesbude. Geschmacklich nicht mein Fall, Portionen sind für den Preis allerdings sehr großzügig

Solider Schnellimbissgrieche mit gutem Essen, überdurchschnittlichen Preisen und mitunter schlechter Organisation. Altenernativen gibt es quasi nicht. Dafür ist der Service wirklich klasse, selten solche freundlichen, bemühten und zuvorkommenden Inhaber gesehen.

Lange Zeit Stammkunde gewesen, aber mittlerweile steigen die Preise (gefühlt) im 2 Wochen Takt. Wenn die Qualität wenigstens gleichbleibend wäre, könnte man sich denken OK, aber die letzten 2x waren die Pommes in richtig altem Fett Frittiert (ungenießbar). Leider in Zukunft von meiner Liste gestrichen, schade.

Heute mal dort gewesen und eine Gyros Pizza geholt, wurde mir empfohlen. Die Pizza war Geschmacklich OK aber nichts besonderes, sie war allerdings sehr fettig. Der Service und die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Die Preise haben allerdings sehr angezogen und sind meiner Meinung nach schon etwas übertrieben für eine Imbiss Bude. Für einige der Preise dort könnte man auch in ein gutes Restaurant gehen und dort Essen mir einem besserem Ambiente.

Wir sind Stammkunden bei El Greco. Die Qualität der Speisen ist seit Jahren ausgezeichnet. Aus unserer Sicht besonders die Grillgerichte und der Reis. Zur Pizza können wir nichts sagen, haben wir noch nicht probiert, sieht aber immer gut aus.

Sehr guter Schnellimbiss. Auch das Vorbestellen und abholen funktioniert prima. Das einzige was ich mir nur nicht erklären kann ist warum bei meinem Gyrosteller die zusätzliche bestellte Soße auf der Pommes immer fehlt 🤔

Gyrossalat müsst Ihr hier probieren, einsame Spitze!!!

Der letzte Laden überhaupt. Um 19.30 Uhr bekommt man sehr unfreundlich gesagt ist alles ausverkauft, wir haben geschlossen. Bevor ich hier auch nur einen Euro lasse, fahr ich eher 11 km zum besten Griechen der Welt.

Selbst ein Stern ist schon zuviel. Currywurst nicht appetitlich. Auch war meine Bestellung nicht vollständig.

Dreiviertel Stunde gestanden bis Essen fertig war. Essen hat nicht geschmeckt habe es weggeworfen. Currywurst war zu lange gebraten, war nur noch trocken und Pommes haben alt geschmeckt.

Bester Grieche in Castrop-Rauxel. Einfach lecker.

Wir haben am Wochenende Essen für 50 Personen bestellt. Das Essen war ein Traum mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Alle Gäste waren begeistert bis auf einen aber der hat immer was zu meckern also egal. Vielen Dank für das tolle Essen.

Essen ok, aber die hygienischen Zustände lassen zu wünschen übrig. Gerade in der aktuellen Zeit sollte man doch noch mehr auf die Sauberkeit geachtet werden. Mund- und Nasenschutzmasken hängen am Kinn, keine Handschuhe, Hände werden nicht gewaschen, obwohl Geld entgegenkommen wurde, Chef kommt mit angezündeter Zigarette aus dem Lokal. Und nervig sind die langen Wartezeiten. Wir haben mal auf eine Lieferung 1 1/2 Stunden gewarteten und Essen vor Ort zum mitnehmen 1/2 Stunde, obwohl nur ein weiterer Kunde da war. Überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen und an der Sauberkeit und Hygiene sollte dringend dran gearbeitet werden.

Sehr zu empfehlen, alles schmeckt gut bis sehr gut. Und es gibt auch Pizza! Die ist zwar klein für den Preis aber sehr lecker. Am besten schmeckt der Hamburger, dieser ist reichlich belegt und genau richtig von der Konsistenz. Die kleine Pommes hat schon eine gute größe für einen Pommesliebhaber sollte es aber die große sein. Mehr als doppelt so groß aber nicht doppelt so teuer.
