I ate at El Greco with my partner on Christmas Day. The staff was friendly and the drinks arrived quickly. We could get salad from the salad bar, which looked delicious and was indeed tasty. The menu was a bit unusual for a Greek restaurant; potatoes were offered as a side dish, and my partner ordered potato wedges. This was also described on the menu. However, I'd never encountered the situation where you have to order tzatziki separately. The food was delicious; the gyros was perfectly seasoned and the souvlaki was very tender. My partner had stuffed suzuki, which she also enjoyed. It was a shame that the food wasn't piping hot, which I think was due to the Christmas rush, although that shouldn't happen. For dessert, I recommended lucomades to my partner. She hadn't tried it, and I always enjoy it. Unfortunately, El Greco didn't offer this dessert, which I find incomprehensible at a Greek restaurant—it would be like not offering ouzo. All in all, El Greco is recommendable, although the prices are slightly higher for the size of the portion

The restaurant is located in a very beautiful and well-preserved historical building, while the interior is warmly and carefully decorated. We met for lunch with clients who invited me, and I can say that I was completely satisfied with both the food and the overall environment. The lady who served us was polite, smiling and professional. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Like last year, this year's experience was excellent. I am sure that next year, when I am in the area again with the client, he will recommend this particular restaurant again – and I will be happy to visit it. I highly recommend it!

Everything here is perfect. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is very attentive and friendly. For us, it's the best Greek restaurant in Hanover and the surrounding area. Highly recommended for vegetarians as well. My wife loves the vegetarian gyro dish. We really enjoy coming to el GReCo.

We also visited el GReCo once. The service and atmosphere were great. We found the price-performance ratio to be mixed. All the dishes are in the higher price range; for example, €8.10 for tarama is quite steep. The food was good, but nothing special. Nevertheless, we were satisfied. It won't become our regular restaurant, but I can recommend it without hesitation.

We've been coming here for several years now. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and the service is quick. The prices are okay, but parking can sometimes be difficult—it's a city, after all ;-).

Update: I went back again, and this time the menu listed all the allergens, making it much easier to find something suitable. The food is still very good, and I also found the service much, much more pleasant this time. Therefore, I'll adjust my star rating to reflect this new experience. (They still offer the yogurt dessert without asking, but one of my companions ate it instead.) ==== I was here a year ago and felt like I annoyed the staff (who, as far as I know, was the owner) quite a bit because I kept having to ask if a dish contained lactose (e.g., in milk, yogurt, or cream) – because the menu didn't indicate allergens like milk or similar. They kept trying to give me dishes and drinks containing cream or yogurt, claiming they're so healthy. 🤔 In the end, the group even received an unsolicited dessert containing milk, which I obviously didn't want, and when I asked what was in it, the staff reacted rudely. It was all very strange. I've now read here that they've apparently had a separate vegan menu for some time, which would have been really helpful back then, as it's guaranteed to be dairy-free. But even just the legally required allergen labeling on the regular menu would simplify things considerably; perhaps that's been added in the meantime. The fish dish I finally ate was very good, but everything else was a bit more of a hassle than necessary. If it weren't for my lactose intolerance, I'm sure I would have really enjoyed it there, hence the three stars.

My friends and I celebrated my birthday last week, and the waiters gave us a wonderful surprise: they brought out a platter of ice cream, whipped cream, and a sparkler, and then sang "Happy Birthday to You" together. The guests in the room joined in the congratulations—it was incredibly touching and festive. A special thank you for the delicious, fresh dishes and amazingly fast service. The waiters are attentive and considerate, creating a truly warm atmosphere. Your restaurant makes you feel right at home! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening and a great atmosphere!

The seats at the tables inside are incredibly tight...you can barely get in and there's barely any room...sometimes you have to wait a long time for the very friendly but forgetful service...the chef tried to make up for it with ouzo...the food was delicious...but also very expensive...

We inquired in advance whether the appetizer platter was vegetarian, and they confirmed it was. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of fish on the platter. We briefly mentioned it, and they were very accommodating. That can happen sometimes, and we felt very comfortable.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. They occasionally offer other dishes in addition to the à la carte menu. The food there is very delicious.

It was another wonderful evening today. The service was first class and the food was absolutely amazing. I ate pork medallions with peppercorns and again there was ouzo first, then a starter platter, then the main course and dessert. Everyone was very attentive and everyone had a smile on their face.

Stopping by "Bei Michael" is always a good decision. 🤗 The friendly, family-like atmosphere created by all the staff, the delicious, varied, and plentiful Greek food, and the cozy ambiance. 😇 We always enjoy coming back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good restaurant with a few parking spaces right outside. You can also sit outside. You can get a salad from the salad bar with any meal. The tzatziki was fresh and tasty. I had the gyro with calamari. I have to particularly highlight the gyro meat. It was really crispy on the outside and yet juicy on the inside. That's rare. We had to wait a little longer for our drinks. I would go back anytime!

We are on holiday from UK to Hannover and always save the best till last and dine at El Greco-Roman on our final evening 😀 they never fail to make it a memorable meal ❤😎

This Greek restaurant, located on the eastern edge of the Anderten district, is justifiably popular. The staff is friendly, the menu is plentiful, and vegetarians are also well catered for. We were offered ouzo as a welcome drink and a small dessert as a farewell. A small dessert was included for free. With two starters, three main courses, and five drinks, the three of us stayed under €100 😎😃 We'd be happy to stop by again.

The restaurant seemed a bit dark during our visit, and the overall atmosphere was rather plain. The waitress was friendly and brought ouzo to our table without asking – a nice gesture, though I don't drink alcohol. Dessert wasn't offered that evening, as the chef was apparently not there for it. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. For my main course, I had fried fish with vegetables and potatoes. The dish tasted okay, but nothing special – I could easily make it at home. The fish was floured, but the sauce made it a bit mushy. The vegetables were soft, but otherwise fine. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food, and I probably wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Yesterday, after a long time, we spontaneously stopped by elGReCo for dinner. We received a very warm welcome. We had liver with Metaxa sauce. I haven't eaten anything so delicious very often, with a mountain of fried onions on top, tomato rice, and homemade fries. We also had a salad from the buffet, small but good. Great service, we started with a glass of ouzo and finished with a small complimentary dessert. We won't wait much longer until next time.

A very nice restaurant, friendly staff, and outstanding food. We had a small, dimly lit corner for four, very stylishly decorated. For dinner, we had a mixed appetizer platter and a "au gratin for two" – heavenly! The Cretan potatoes here aren't slices, but whole, small potatoes. We'll be coming here more often.

I've been there many times. You're always made to feel very welcome. It looks really great, there's a huge selection, and everything is delicious. I highly recommend it for vegetarians, too. They're very child-friendly and really take care of their guests. It's always a pleasure to go there. On weekends, however, it might be a good idea to make a reservation.

An absolute must if you happen to be in Anderten. The food was excellent, the service staff very attentive. The portions are generous, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant. Super great Greek cuisine. We were greeted very politely at Easter. Everything was prepared and we were well served from start to finish. The salmon fillet had a good consistency and the sauce was delicious 🤤 Vegetables and potatoes were really good too. Everyone was happy and satisfied. We didn't say no to the ouzo on the house. We were at El Greco Hannover/Anderen for the first time this afternoon...what can we say, we were thrilled by the excellent service and the food...we had ordered an ouzo plate, here we spontaneously had an ouzo with it😉 and liver with homemade fries and onions...just legga😋😋...The fresh salad with the ingenious garlic sauce and the home-made bread were also excellent...There was also a dessert on the house. A big thank you goes to the service, who always paid attention to the well-being of the guests 🙏🏻...We will definitely be back...

Hello, we were in the restaurant with two dogs and hadn't pre-ordered, but we were still given a very friendly welcome. The dogs were immediately given something to drink. The food was super delicious, just try it for yourself! My companion was just as enthusiastic as I was, and there was a really pleasant atmosphere, so we stayed there for a good two hours. The staff is very attentive and friendly - perfect for a nice evening with the whole family.

A return visit after many years...and overall we were quite satisfied. There was the “Feta Creme” as a starter, then the main courses “Surf and Turf” (salmon, small steak and gyros) with crunchy vegetables and small potatoes tossed in butter. As well as the zander fillet for my companion. The food was deliciously prepared and came to the table quickly; well seasoned! The portions were so generous that I was able to enjoy the “leftovers” the following day. Maybe next time I'll take the "senior plate". The “salad bar,” however, was a bad joke. Although the salad was included, only half of the already meager selection was freshly prepared, otherwise the "canned food" greeted us. The service was friendly and very attentive, but not at all intrusive. And the ambience, well, a matter of taste. It was too dark for me and I felt rather overwhelmed. A final word about the menu. It was in A4 and was shrink-wrapped on the tables. In the "dim lighting" I could just about read the writing, despite having new glasses! This is better arranged elsewhere.

We spontaneously went to eat here and were very lucky to get a table because it is always very busy (now we know why). The staff was very accommodating, the mood and ambience were excellent, we felt very comfortable there. We were served very friendly and the food was also very tasty! What surprised me most was that my lamb fillets were cooked perfectly, just the way I like it and without saying anything! I've really never experienced anything so great! This is what I call real Greek food. I would be happy to come back and recommend it to anyone with a good heart! Thanks for that. 🌹

Brilliant Greek. No matter which dish on the menu, it is always delicious. Super-friendly staff is always there when needed. Easy to reach, the end point of tram line 5 (Anderten) is right on the doorstep. But there are also limited parking spaces available.

The whole team is great. Jamal served us in the best possible way, even if it was an unusual request. He served us very satisfactorily. That's why he was allowed to leave earlier! Boss was super pleasant and managed everything well. Great picture of the "Greek" on the toilet, which is very clean. Plenty of parking spaces in front of the door. The food is first class. Had liver, super tender with lots of onions and lots of liver. Friend has an ouzo plate that looked great and he liked it. My friend had salmon that was very tender. My wife's gyros were great. We also had taramas and tzaziki as well as the warm pepperoni. All in all great. Everything was perfect from A to Z. Laughed a lot with Jamal. Zerzava! But as always, make up your own mind.
