I met a friend here last night. We didn't make a reservation because I couldn't reach anyone by phone. At 7 p.m. we were seated at the bar and got our drinks before a table became available. Once placed at the table, it took a while for our order to be taken. The food was fantastic! Everything was delicious! When I paid I gave a tip and wanted to pay €25. After a long wait and the waiter calculating back and forth, the card payment machine showed €26.28. Without a word he held out the device. I found it a bit unfortunate and uncharming not to ask beforehand whether the amount was okay because it was (possibly?) due to the technology (it's just a guess). Otherwise the restaurant was nicely decorated and had a nice ambience. Unfortunately, we were sitting right in the entrance, so there was a lot of draft when the door opened and closed.

The three of us spontaneously visited this restaurant on Saturday evening. We didn't make a reservation because we were only in Dresden for a concert for one evening. The restaurant was (of course) full. When we asked for a table for 3 people, we were asked to wait a moment to be told that a table would be available in 5 minutes that we could have. Of course we were happy to wait because we were immediately impressed by the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. The evening went wonderfully. The food and wine were first class and despite the store being full the team were completely stress free, polite, attentive and relaxed. If we are in Dresden again, we will definitely visit El Espanol again. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Everything is freshly prepared and typically Spanish. You can see into the kitchen. Our best Spanish meal in Germany so far.

Basically, I liked it, even if it wasn't one of the highlights of my gastronomy experiences. Unfortunately, it is a bit noisy in the restaurant overall. While eating, I explicitly asked whether wheat and/or oats were processed in the dishes I chose. This was denied. Unfortunately this cannot be true... Therefore only three points. The service was generally okay.

One of the oldest tapas restaurants in Dresden. Idyllically located at the Epiphany Church... a dream to dine outside under the trees in summer. I was there for lunch today...grilled pork fillet with cheese sauce was delicious.... Deduction: Broccoli was completely overcooked

The food and service were great, any “extra” requests were addressed and implemented. Reservations are recommended as it is really busy. However, sitting in that narrow aisle right next to the kitchen serving window wasn't great. It was narrow and very loud...

Absolute recommendation in the Baroque Quarter! We have been very happy to have lunch guests for over two years now, mostly with business partners, and during this time they have always been very accommodating and friendly. The food is consistently of high quality. A place of good taste and good exchange... in summer on the outdoor area in front of the Epiphany Church. A magical place!

We had a wonderful evening at El Espanol. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was good, but unfortunately not very good.

Food is excellent. With 3 tapas (6.90 each) and a beer you will really feel full. Beer (0.5) costs 5.70. As of October 2024. The place is small in itself, 7 tables of different sizes (can be set apart depending on occupancy). Tapas with meat are highly recommended. Tastes very good. Preparation quite quickly. There is a charge for parking in the area until 8 p.m. Ambience: It's an old building with smaller windows. Toilet clean.

Love coming here, great food and good service. However, when it is very crowded it gets quite loud, making it difficult to hold conversations.

We were a larger group and were squeezed into a corner. The distance to the next table was too small. The bread and dips were at the table promptly, but we waited another 30 minutes for the rest of the food. The selection of tapas was good. They were quite small and simply prepared - tasted ok. Late in the evening the restaurant became very full and we had to wait a long time for both a new drink order and the bill.

A really good price/performance ratio in every respect! Delicious, special, cozy - a complete success! I can only warmly recommend it!

The food was very tasty and had an appropriate portion size. The waitress seemed a bit bored, but was nice and asked if everything was OK. The ambience isn't quite my cup of tea, but it wouldn't stop me from visiting again. Clear recommendation from me.

Zero Spanish... very spicy chorizo ​​to make you drink more, miserable dishes for the price paid, staff who ask you for a tip at the end with zero service... in short, to forget... a tourist trap, tried it only because on Monday evening my trusted places in the area were closed...at least for Italians, go elsewhere...we understand each other....

Another positive thing to mention is that we still got something to eat, even though the kitchen had just closed because we were unfortunately a little late. At 8 p.m. it was very crowded and without a reservation we had to wait a short while. This also caused the order to take a little longer. The food came quickly and tasted very good. It wasn't cheap, but worth a visit.

Great location & cozy atmosphere at the church. The staff was friendly throughout, we were there around 1 p.m. on Saturday and it was very well attended. Accordingly, the waiting times were acceptable. The food was super tasty and freshly prepared. Price-performance ratio is definitely right here. We'd love to come back.

A very pretty restaurant in a baroque style house with a beautiful shaded terrace. The food is excellent and the prices very affordable. A special mention for the service and particularly Mo who was very professional. Very grateful for the excellent service.

Very nice location with shady outdoor seating in a small square. Very nice service too! Only the tapas could be a little bigger for the price; or you can offer them a little cheaper - the portions are quite small. ;-)

Pro: the ambience in front of the church, musicians on the church square. Nothing to do with the restaurant. But of course they benefit from it. Con: forever waiting time, in the first hour there was only 1 drink for everyone, a basket of dry bread was put away pretty quickly, no dip or spread - it came 30 minutes later. Table with 4 now hungry people after 1 hour of waiting 1 of 15 tapas came then again for 20 minutes there was no movement. Conclusion: on weekends and in summer when things are busy, we prefer to eat somewhere else. Staff is terribly unfriendly, incomprehensible, you feel like you're in a tourist trap. Maybe it is too... thanks for nothing

The food was good, the outside area was very nice as it was right on the square of the Epiphany Church. We had to wait a relatively long time (approx. 30-40 minutes) for the TAPAS. The food itself was really good, but there was no written indication that three tapas per person had to be chosen/paid for. Before 2 p.m. during the week you get 3 for the price of 2. Of course we were there after 2 p.m. The tip about Friday tapas only came from an employee after we had already ordered and received drinks. Prices per tapas vary between €6.50 and €09.50 and correspond to a full meal.

First of all, you can say that the food was very good. Unfortunately, no matter how good the food is, it is ruined by the service. It would certainly look good on a table if it was prepared for the guests, but at least you should expect it to be clean. We had a large bottle of water and a bottle of wine, everything carelessly placed in the middle of the table along with a wine cooler (made of plastic). Pouring would have been nice, but I would have expected the waiter to at least put the wine in the cooler. Then a wine glass had a big crack - when the waiter pointed this out, it took over 10 minutes to get a new glass, which then had the almost identical crack... The meal was already half finished when a second glass was finally brought . To be fair, the place was packed and the waiters seemed understaffed. But they always found time to talk (Arabic) in groups of three.

We have been here in the past. It has now diminished enormously. Tapa’s didn’t taste good. Very coarsely seasoned. Meat quality is not good - extremely mixed. No further visit for us.

This restaurant visit was the worst visit to a Spanish restaurant we have ever had in Germany. A small recommendation for anyone who is looking for a good Spanish restaurant in Dresden. Tapas Tapas just opposite. The food there is original and delicious, just like in Andalusia. But back to the restaurant. A liter of Sangria (tourist trap and nothing that is typically Spanish but Tinto de Verano ;) ) for 45 euros. Absolute rip-off. In Spain, olives are served for free as a snack with drinks; here they cost !6 euros! Albondigas (meatballs in almond sauce, for example) in a spicy nacho sauce that couldn't be further from the Spanish original. There are also 2 small balls for 6 euros. Now comes the best example. A hot mojito is offered as a cocktail and the staff say that mojito is always served hot. Patatas Bravas with “Alioli” (potato wedges) cooked instead of fried. The aioli was not alioli. Mexican snacks like nachos are offered as Spanish food. Very “authentic”. There were a lot of good things said about this restaurant in advance, but unfortunately this could not be confirmed.

A simply wonderful restaurant. We have visited this place multiple times now, each time trying out new meals and returning to favourites. Every person we took found something to their taste, and was happy to return. Would especially recommend the tomato-garlic bread and the creme catalana. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable, and the waiter (in our case Mo) clealry knows the menu, the wine and what he is doing. Every detail, from decoration to plates perfectly matches, creating a wonderful experience every time.

Essen und Getränke waren echt super

Wir waren zum Jahreswechsel ein paar Tage in Dresden. Wir haben zufällig diese Tapas Bar entdeckt und konnten kurzfristig mit 4 Personen Platz bekommen. Normalerweise ist es ohne Vorbestellung eher schwierig Platz zu finden. Personal war sehr nett und das Essen lecker.

Wir waren zum wiederholten Mal da und haben immer gut gegessen und getrunken. Bedienung auf zack. Die Toiletten könnten mal renoviert werden.

Abends bestimmt romantischer und uriger als mittags, aber die Bedienung war sehr nett und das Essen wirklich lecker. Die Preise sind völlig in Ordnung.

Ich habe mit drei Kolleginnen im El Espanol zu Mittag gegessen. In dieser Zeit steht eine spezielle Mittagskarte mit vergleichsweise günstigeren Angeboten zur Verfügung. Ich hatte ein Rinderhüftsteak mit hausgemachten Kartoffelwedges sowie Salat. Insgesamt hat es mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich habe selten ein vergleichbar zartes Hüftsteak gegessen. In Verbindung mit einem Gericht der Mittagskarte kann man ein kleines alkoholfreies Getränk für nur 2,10 € dazu bestellen. Auch der Service und das Ambiente waren angenehm. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.
