Everything was freshly prepared and tasted really good, friendly service, a clear menu, and the food was delivered very quickly. We visited for the first time with the voucher book and would gladly return.

A great Mexican restaurant with high-quality food. We'd love to come back.

We've never been to Al Chapo Kaufbeuren ourselves, but we had visitors and simply reserved a table there. First of all, our guests had a medium-sized dog with them, which wasn't a problem at all; we were even allowed to sit at a table a bit off to the side. The ambiance and service were first-class. Everything was super organized, everything was super friendly, and it's rare that you can still get a large Coke Zero in a glass with ice cubes, lemon, and a glass straw in a restaurant these days. The food was incredibly good. No "open a bag and you're done!" - here everything is freshly cooked, and you can taste it. Tomato soup, wow, not a runny broth, but a fresh tomato soup with a good consistency. The bread or flatbreads served with it are also super fresh. The sweet potato fries are amazing. I know from my own experience that they're hard to get crispy, but they are a dream, super crispy. Thanks to the great team; our girls were just as thrilled as we were; we weren't disappointed in any way. We'll definitely be back, and so did our guests. We highly recommend it.

The food tastes great but you are told shortly before that all you can eat is not possible despite reservation on Mondays. The table next to us had all you can eat and everyone was offered a portion which only costs a little bit less than the all you can eat menu.

We heard about El Chapo through the Schlemmerblock (a German restaurant). The waiters were very friendly, helpful, and attentive despite the restaurant being full. The food was delicious and served promptly after ordering.

The atmosphere is pleasantly cozy. It's not too loud from music or other people. The spare ribs are by far the best. Super tender and buttery soft. The salitas are highly recommended.

Six of us were there recently. The food was okay. I had spare ribs. Unfortunately, they were anything but crispy. Probably not fresh off the grill, but kept warm for ages. The staff was friendly and competent. We'll be back.

A 10 in everything Mexican cuisine. Nachos were crumbly and very hot, although there was cheese, they were not wet. Burrito was not very Mexican cuisine but the taste was very good, I will go to tacos again. The waiters are very friendly, their English is good, thank you for everything.

Great restaurant with super delicious food. There's nothing to complain about at all. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The only small downside is that the portions of the spare ribs, for example, continue to get smaller from time to time. I think that's a shame.

Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. The dishes were authentic and full of flavor. A wonderful place for a relaxed evening. We had Chicken Burger and a Menu option. They also considered to make the menu as vegetarian.

I already left a review last year when we were there for the first time. We were really excited then. And yesterday, April 24th. We were there for the buffet... And it was really delicious, really great selection, everything was great, nothing was left to be desired ☺️ Everything was always refilled straight away and the staff was super nice and quick... Respect! What we also want to note is that it's great that you only charge half the price for kids up to 14 years of age, and not the adult price like elsewhere. I have rarely been so enthusiastic about a restaurant. The Samoa Burger is the best burger I have ever eaten in a restaurant with 360g of meat and a super delicious sauce that will leave you more than full. Very friendly service, price performance is very good. The only thing where the operator can't do anything is the conversation volume is very loud and you quickly hear what the neighbor at the table is saying.

Basically we had a good time at El Chapo. Nicely decorated, great service and good food. The portions are really big. If you eat with children, there will definitely be leftovers. Either arrive straight away with a Tupperware container or just order a side dish once. We wanted to take advantage of happy hour but were too full to drink another cocktail. For us, the food came almost too quickly (complaining at a high level) so we would have almost wished for a little more time beforehand. Otherwise everything is fine.

There were four of us, unfortunately our food didn't come until the other three were almost finished. The food itself was quite cold and not quite “done”, i.e. the enchiladas were cheese white and very limp. Although there was very little going on in the restaurant that evening, we had to wait immensely, starting with the drinks. The waitresses were still friendly and tried hard.

Food was very good. Service too! Somehow the dishes repeat themselves in a different form.

We ended up at El Chapo through the gourmet block and were absolutely thrilled. The waitresses are super friendly and on the ball. No long waiting times, neither when ordering nor when eating. Steak is an absolute dream, salad is fresh and delicious, spare ribs melt in your mouth and practically fall off the bone. Absolutely top value for money! We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back!

We wanted to eat spareribs for all you can eat. However, one person at the table doesn't eat spare ribs and ordered a normal dish. We were then told that you can only order all you can eat spareribs if the whole table orders it. I find that outrageous and would have preferred to leave straight away. I understand if the person only orders a small thing, but she had ordered a large main course. I also felt sorry for the waitress who had to tell us this, she was very friendly and specifically consulted with the boss. However, I have often heard from friends that the waitresses are not treated so well and even have to pay for every drink. The food is okay, but nothing special.

We enjoy being here and the restaurant is also highly recommended. I would particularly like to emphasize the cleanliness and the variety on the menu, in the end we usually eat the nachos with cheese.😃

We were in the restaurant with 4 adults and 4 children. The super friendly service accepted all of our special requests for 2 courses with a smile and took everything into account. The food was top class and we can recommend El Chapo without exception. Tip: The house plate was awesome! 5 stars without any ifs and buts!

"Nachos Chili Con Carne" was ordered as a starter, but instead we got "Nachos Hot Chili Cheese". 20 minutes after ordering, the waitress told us that the pulled pork was out and whether the dish with chicken would be okay. Instead of just the meat being changed, the sauce was also different without prior agreement, it was also cold and more of an “appetizer” in terms of quantity. Quite outrageous for these prices. The ambience is great and the service is friendly. No recommendation!

Very tasty Mexican cuisine with a lot to choose from. A rather expensive restaurant in comparison.

Well-attended, bright, clean restaurant with nice service - only the food was disappointing: spare ribs were lukewarm, half of the Natchos consisted of fragments (unsuitable for dipping), guacamole and verdura burrito with spices that didn't suit our taste at all - from the refried beans in the burrito who can hardly see anything. The waitress was very attentive to our criticism.

This was our second time for dinner and both times it was excellent. Keep up the good work with this friendly staff. Of course, the boss can also greet the guests as they pass by. Herwig :)

The spare ribs were very well seasoned and slightly sweet. Pleases. What I didn't like was that my order was overlooked. In addition, it is not clear from the menu that the spare rips all you can only possible if the whole table orders it according to the waiter. But the needles were still attentive and unobtrusive. But I would definitely have ordered one more drink if they had checked the drinks more often. All good with a bit of room for improvement.

It was my first time as a guest and I really liked it. Service top Food top I only have one criticism: there is no decent tequila on offer. I would definitely have upset my stomach with Sierra Tequila. 😉

Great restaurant where everyone can find something. Wir waren mit Freunden spontan im El Chapo, weil wir uns immer auf einen Mexikaner einigen können. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich, es ist auch vegetarisches dabei, die Mädels waren happy. Die Leute dort sind freundlich und schnell und das Bier war auch ganz ordentlich. Wir hatten einen spaßigen Abend, kann ich gut weiter empfehlen.

Unfortunately, the tofu was completely taken off the menu. Absolutely no longer recommended for vegetarians. Meat eaters welcome. It's a shame that the focus is 100% on it.

Food was very tasty, had the combo buritto, highly recommended to try out the 4 burittos. Happy hour is also a great thing. Ambience is pleasant, maybe a little louder depending on the table.

Food tasted good, staff was friendly. Unfortunately, it wasn't clear on the menu which dishes were spicy. It was borderline spicy at times. The portions are way too small. We (5 people) had burritos, enchiladas and the house platter and no one was really full, not even our 8 year old child who ate a normal portion. The biggest disappointment was the house platter: the spare rib was so tiny that it could have fit on a tablespoon, half of the platter consisted of nachos, the rice was cold, the burrito was tasty but overall there was just far too little for it over 22 euros. Unfortunately for us there is no need to repeat it.

The food was super tasty. The Boritus were a bit spicy though. The ladies in service were super attentive. All in all, a really great Mexican.

hier kann man einen richtigen gemütlichen und schönen Abend verbringen.Ob im Biergarten oder im Lokal die mexikanische Atmosphäre holt dich sofort ab.Das Personal und auch die Wirtsleute persönlich sind für Wünsche und Fragen der Gäste offen.Es ist wie nach Hause kommen.Die Speisekarte ist reichhaltig und lässt keinen Wunsch offen.Auf jeden Fall haben mein Mann und ich ein neues Stammlokal mit Atmosphäre gefunden.

The food is really great! The cocktails were a bit too sweet for my taste... There always feels like there's too much going on here, so it always takes a little longer... So take your time... We've been waiting for drinks for 45 minutes, and not just once... ;) But the staff is always friendly and nice! Thanks until next time :)

El Chapo is simply the best place in the area. Whether you want something to eat or just enjoy cocktails at happy hour, it's always good. The question isn't "are we going to El Chapo or somewhere else?" but "when are we finally going to El Chapo again?" We've been there many times, with family, friends, friends and family or just the two of us, I wouldn't call us regulars yet, but almost :) We almost tried our way through the cocktails and there is hardly anything in the food that we haven't tried before, and everything is simply delicious. There are parking spaces behind the house, and there are outside play areas for the kids right next to the beer garden (so within sight!). There are so many cocktails of all kinds, and I particularly like these Salritas (see photo). They even put rum ice cubes in there. Geilomat! We love El Chapo!

Today we went to El Chapo for the first time through the Schlemmerblock. What should we say to that? We are speechless. Great quality, great food and lots of it. The staff is extremely competent and knows how to answer any questions you may have. El Chapo is a MUST, you have to eat there or have been there 🤤 We'll be back.

Who would have thought? I've driven past it many times - El Chapo and the day before yesterday I was there for the first time. And suddenly the El Chapo turns out to be surprisingly large and offers various, nicely furnished guest rooms, while it has a spacious terrace at the back, including a children's play area - which was an incentive for us as we had our granddaughter with us. And yes, I can only agree with the other reviews - the menu is appealing, the service is nice and the food is super tasty.

The place is nicely decorated, but the service is slow and the food is not very seasoned, greasy and sticky. It's a shame ☹️

Today I had a delicious dinner there with my family. The portions are large, everything is fresh and excellently prepared, with great attention to detail. The ambience is very modern, coordinated with warm colors, bright, clean and radiates a friendly atmosphere. The girls from the service team are great, bright and on the ball 😃👍🏼 We would love to come back.

Full marks 👍🏼 we will definitely come back and recommend El Chapo to our friends! Reservation worked wonderfully. Service and food was top. Decoration in the restaurant is fancy and modern. Cocktails and aperitifs were very tasty and of high quality. The atmosphere was super relaxed and invites you to linger.

We ended up here today by chance and we are totally surprised at how great the store is. Really delicious food, with a great ambience and great service. Definitely coming back.

We ate there for the first time yesterday, July 7th, 2024. We can only leave a “Wow”. The food is super delicious, even for people who don't like Mexican. What impressed us was that the waitresses were absolutely on their toes, friendly and always came back to ask if we needed anything else. Another huge plus is that they serve the drinks with glass straws and not those disgusting cardboard things. Thank you for a wonderful evening, with very tasty food. We will be back.

Service only 4 points because the service should have been more attentive

The food was ok (house platter for 1 person and enchilada amigo) but could have been a little more seasoned, at least with the house platter. The rice lacked a bit of pizzazz. The service was very friendly and attentive. An extra rib on the house plate and maybe a small portion of coleslaw wouldn't be a mistake. All in all, a good meal.

We like the nice atmosphere in this restaurant. The ambience and decoration are really great! Even though we've had bad experiences with food before, all in all it's still worth recommending. You can usually eat very well here and the cocktails are also very tasty! I can particularly recommend the record for one person because you have everything you can imagine on it. Personally, I also really like the tapas. Overall, I think the prices are about 10% to 15% too expensive, but these days you've almost gotten used to it.

Very nice restaurant with nice interior design. The menu has a lot to offer and the kitchen also caters to special requests. Basically a good meal, although you should think carefully about whether you order the crispy potatoes. Unfortunately these are not like in the pictures, but very dark, almost burnt. When asked, this was declared “normal”.

Typical TexMex cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. Behind the restaurant there is a large covered terrace with a playground. Parking spaces are available behind the house. The food is good and nicely prepared. Everything is still okay in terms of price. But the highlight of the store is the friendly and attentive employees.

VERY sweet "cocktails" here, haven't tried just one. Elsewhere very well (with high quality ingredients) that's why it stands out to me. Strawberry syrup was probably free? Lots of foam but no crushed ice and, as just mentioned, they actually only taste like syrup. The boss said, as did the staff, "it's sweet when there are three syrups in it"...even though there are only two on the menu. All right^^ if you say something, you'll be left sitting there for a while...then a small concession, only reluctantly and if asked repeatedly. Not good customer service today! But if you open your mouth, that's probably how it is. You could also use it as feedback, but instead you just defend yourself. A lady also complained - a whopping €2 was charged for a sip(!) of cream, which everyone probably finds excessive. Because the soup was too hot or something. Then pay for it?! I actually found it quite good here except for the cocktails, especially the atmosphere is cozy, but I or we no longer felt comfortable as customers. A PITY.
