The food is really great! The cocktails were a bit too sweet for my taste... There always feels like there's too much going on here, so it always takes a little longer... So take your time... We've been waiting for drinks for 45 minutes, and not just once... ;) But the staff is always friendly and nice! Thanks until next time :)

El Chapo is simply the best place in the area. Whether you want something to eat or just enjoy cocktails at happy hour, it's always good. The question isn't "are we going to El Chapo or somewhere else?" but "when are we finally going to El Chapo again?" We've been there many times, with family, friends, friends and family or just the two of us, I wouldn't call us regulars yet, but almost :) We almost tried our way through the cocktails and there is hardly anything in the food that we haven't tried before, and everything is simply delicious. There are parking spaces behind the house, and there are outside play areas for the kids right next to the beer garden (so within sight!). There are so many cocktails of all kinds, and I particularly like these Salritas (see photo). They even put rum ice cubes in there. Geilomat! We love El Chapo!

Today we went to El Chapo for the first time through the Schlemmerblock. What should we say to that? We are speechless. Great quality, great food and lots of it. The staff is extremely competent and knows how to answer any questions you may have. El Chapo is a MUST, you have to eat there or have been there 🤤 We'll be back.

Friendly and fast service and good cuisine, I miss the Mexican flair a little but that's complaining at a high level. In any case, it's great that we have a Mexican restaurant here in our region.

Who would have thought? I've driven past it many times - El Chapo and the day before yesterday I was there for the first time. And suddenly the El Chapo turns out to be surprisingly large and offers various, nicely furnished guest rooms, while it has a spacious terrace at the back, including a children's play area - which was an incentive for us as we had our granddaughter with us. And yes, I can only agree with the other reviews - the menu is appealing, the service is nice and the food is super tasty.

The place is nicely decorated, but the service is slow and the food is not very seasoned, greasy and sticky. It's a shame ☹️

Today I had a delicious dinner there with my family. The portions are large, everything is fresh and excellently prepared, with great attention to detail. The ambience is very modern, coordinated with warm colors, bright, clean and radiates a friendly atmosphere. The girls from the service team are great, bright and on the ball 😃👍🏼 We would love to come back.

Full marks 👍🏼 we will definitely come back and recommend El Chapo to our friends! Reservation worked wonderfully. Service and food was top. Decoration in the restaurant is fancy and modern. Cocktails and aperitifs were very tasty and of high quality. The atmosphere was super relaxed and invites you to linger.

We ended up here today by chance and we are totally surprised at how great the store is. Really delicious food, with a great ambience and great service. Definitely coming back.

The food was ok (house platter for 1 person and enchilada amigo) but could have been a little more seasoned, at least with the house platter. The rice lacked a bit of pizzazz. The service was very friendly and attentive. An extra rib on the house plate and maybe a small portion of coleslaw wouldn't be a mistake. All in all, a good meal.

We ate there for the first time yesterday, July 7th, 2024. We can only leave a “Wow”. The food is super delicious, even for people who don't like Mexican. What impressed us was that the waitresses were absolutely on their toes, friendly and always came back to ask if we needed anything else. Another huge plus is that they serve the drinks with glass straws and not those disgusting cardboard things. Thank you for a wonderful evening, with very tasty food. We will be back.

We like the nice atmosphere in this restaurant. The ambience and decoration are really great! Even though we've had bad experiences with food before, all in all it's still worth recommending. You can usually eat very well here and the cocktails are also very tasty! I can particularly recommend the record for one person because you have everything you can imagine on it. Personally, I also really like the tapas. Overall, I think the prices are about 10% to 15% too expensive, but these days you've almost gotten used to it.

Very nice restaurant with nice interior design. The menu has a lot to offer and the kitchen also caters to special requests. Basically a good meal, although you should think carefully about whether you order the crispy potatoes. Unfortunately these are not like in the pictures, but very dark, almost burnt. When asked, this was declared “normal”.

Typical TexMex cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. Behind the restaurant there is a large covered terrace with a playground. Parking spaces are available behind the house. The food is good and nicely prepared. Everything is still okay in terms of price. But the highlight of the store is the friendly and attentive employees.

VERY sweet "cocktails" here, haven't tried just one. Elsewhere very well (with high quality ingredients) that's why it stands out to me. Strawberry syrup was probably free? Lots of foam but no crushed ice and, as just mentioned, they actually only taste like syrup. The boss said, as did the staff, "it's sweet when there are three syrups in it"...even though there are only two on the menu. All right^^ if you say something, you'll be left sitting there for a while...then a small concession, only reluctantly and if asked repeatedly. Not good customer service today! But if you open your mouth, that's probably how it is. You could also use it as feedback, but instead you just defend yourself. A lady also complained - a whopping €2 was charged for a sip(!) of cream, which everyone probably finds excessive. Because the soup was too hot or something. Then pay for it?! I actually found it quite good here except for the cocktails, especially the atmosphere is cozy, but I or we no longer felt comfortable as customers. A PITY.

I've been a guest several times and it's always worked out so far. The menu offers a large selection and the portions are good, the food is also tasty. Unfortunately the prices are relatively high.

It was nice, but nothing more. The ambience has the charm of a club room that has been spruced up a bit using simple means (cactus on a putty wall). We sat directly on the path where the waitresses walked. Very cozy". In general, the guests sit much too closely in some places. It was cold. The food was okay too, but hey, fourteen euros for a portion of fries with a few crumbs of pulled pork and a few different sauces? This is snack level. The huge bowl of tacos came with a tiny bowl of dip. The enchiladas were drowned in hollandaise. The cocktails were okay, not very expensive, but not great either. And the service...was nice. Everything was somehow quite nice. But that's not enough. At least to me.

The food is absolutely amazing. It really tastes very good. The people here are all totally relaxed and friendly. I always enjoy coming here. Best restaurant in Kaufbeuren in my opinion. We had to wait a bit because it was very busy, but it was worth the wait and everyone was putting in a lot of effort here

I called quite spontaneously on Saturday and asked for a table. The answer that something is free came a little hesitantly, I thought that someone wanted to make themselves more interesting than it is. Wrong, the place was full to the brim, even the bar was partially occupied. Despite the many guests, the staff was on point and super friendly. The food arrived after about 40 minutes, which is more than OK with so many guests. Tastes really good, the little red chili really packs a punch. Prices according to the menu are also ok and with the gourmet block you get a meal for free! Absolutely recommended!

Unfortunately absolutely not for me! The food, despite being Mexican, is boring, not fresh and bland. But the cocktails are okay. At first the service was very friendly and in a good mood, but that changed when I didn't leave a tip... We weren't even said goodbye... It's a shame, but I still left €140 behind. I usually always tip! Even if I don't like the food! But when I wanted to take my leftovers with me and asked the waitress if she could pack them for me, she said I had to pay €1 for “packaging costs”. So I already have to pay for the food, but I have to pay another €1 for the packaging so that I can take MY food with me?! In my opinion that is simply ridiculous and says a lot about the restaurant. So is it better to throw the food away?!

So far quite solid Mexicans, but I haven't had that much of the menu yet. Spare ribs extremely tender and also good. Enchiladas also delicious, but without starter manageable portion. The Mozarella or Gauda on the Nachos is not strong enough, compared to the Taccos. The ambience is rather sober (know it more playful at Mexican restaurants). The service is super nice. Sure, if it is overcrowded it takes longer, but always friendly and personable! I will continue to be a guest there regularly!

Auch wenn es hier mein absolutes Lieblingsgericht " Chicken Fajita " nicht gibt kann ich dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. Waren zu einer Geburtstagsfeier hier und haben sehr gut gegessen. Jeder hatte ein anderes Gericht und wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Hinterher gab es noch eine Runde Erdbeerlimes aufs Haus. War ziemlich voll, daher ist eine Reservierung empfehlenswert.

Das Restaurant wurde schön Eingerichtet. Wir hatten die All you can eat Spareribs. Die Portionen waren groß. Die Cocktails waren lecker und die Bedienung freundlich.

Wir haben kurzfristig Samstag abends was zum Essen gehen gesucht und ohne Reservierung noch nen Tisch ergattert (2 Personen), aber das war mehr Glück. Service ist schnell und freundlich. Essen war recht schnell fertig und serviert. Preislich ist das alles voll im grünen Bereich, die Portionen sind groß und lecker. Also als Zufallstreffer volle Punktzahl. 👌🏻

Montags Spar Ribs all you can eat echt eine 9/10. Die Knochen lassen sich leicht raus ziehen und das Fleisch meist zart brutal. Der Mojito is auch einfach brutal lecker 😍

Endlich wieder eine Cantina in Kaufbeuren und noch dazu eine gute! Typische Einrichtung, gemütlich und so wie man sich das vorstellt. Das Personal ist nicht nur freundlich, sondern auch schnell und aufmerksam. Das Essen ist lecker, der Preis angemessen. Alles pipifein also! Es gibt einen schönen und sehr sauberen Wickelraum und am Familiensonntag gratis Kindermenü - perfekt. Wir kommen gerne wieder, auch auf einen Cocktail in der Happy Hour.

Schönes Restaurant, man sitzt nicht dicht auf dicht. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Große Auswahl beim Essen und den Cocktails (alkoholische und antialkoholisch) und geschmeckt hat es sehr gut! Faire Preise!

Unglaublich, wie hoch die Durchschnittsbewertung für diesen Laden ist. Wieder einmal muß ich bestürzt feststellen, daß das Kaufbeurer Publikum leider keine Ahnung von gutem Essen hat. Wir waren zu fünft dort, und ich habe mich durchprobiert. Das Fleisch war von schlechter Qualität, die Gerichte waren z.T kalt, nicht gar, oder nicht mehr ganz frisch. Allgemein war das Essen fade und langweilig, und lieblos zubereitet wie in irgendeinem dieser miesen Balkangrills der Stadt. Von den Preisen her hätte ich das nicht vermutet. Das Ambiente passt aber immerhin dazu. Der Service war ok und freundlich, aber wer diesen Fraß zusammekocht, kann kein Mexikaner sein. Der Laden war aber trotzdem proppevoll, weil die Leute hier so gut wie alles fressen, und je mehr davon, desto besser. Glücklicherweise gibt es in Kaufbeuren noch ein paar deutlich bessere Restaurants, wo man merkt, daß mit Liebe und Fachkunde gekocht wird. Das El Chapo werde ich sicher nicht noch mal besuchen.

Wir waren heute zum Buffet essen im El chapo. Waren vor ein paar Wochen das erste Mal da. Wurden aber erschlagen vom Angebot. Wie schmeckt ein taco,ein burrito,enchilada? Also heute bem Buffet alles getestet. Es gibt eine tolle und riesige Auswahl. Viele sossen, Salat und leckere Nachspeisen. Ein gelungener Abend. Saubere sanitäranlagen. Freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder 😀👍

Wir waren mit vier Personen da zum Essen. Das Essen war sehr gut und schnell durch den Service zum Tisch gebracht. Die Cocktails sind alle sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Leckere Cocktails. Das Gericht mit den Garnelen konnte leider geschmacklich gar nicht überzeugen, allerdings der hauseigene Burito war sehr köstlich. (Der gekochte Mais war nicht so der Hit würde da irgendwie noch was anderes vorstellen wie eine Soße oder gegrillten Mais, da der gekochte wie abgestanden geschmeckt hat) Die tapas vorne weg waren sehr lecker, allerdings schade das sie ohne Soße bzw. Dip geliefert worden sind bzw. sofern es extra bestellt werden muss nicht drauf hingewiesen wurde. Bei unserem Besuch kam auch die Vorspeise schneller als die Getränke was bisschen schade, war da man gerne etwas trinken wollen würde dazu. Vor allem wenn keine Soße mitgeliefert. Leider war es an dem Abend auch so hektisch bzw. Voll das ein nachbestellen nicht in Frage kam. Insgesamt würde ich die Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte die Fleischlastig sind empfehlen. Bei Garnelen eher Vorsicht!
