Adlerkeller in Kaufbeuren

When we first contacted them, we wanted to come without a reservation. The elderly landlady explained that this wasn't possible because there were only two of them, both of whom were older and therefore had to organize everything differently. We understood this and left. A few weeks later, we politely called, even about two weeks in advance, and they told me on the phone how difficult it would be, as the guests were arriving by the busload from all over the world. I simply took the next available slot on a Saturday and reserved a table for two. During the week, I expanded to three people, which was quite possible. Today we were there, and an hour and a half later, we're still speechless about what we experienced there. Right from the start, we were greeted warmly, but were told how we should sit at the table and that we weren't allowed to hang our jackets on the chairs. We understood the reasoning, but it was the tone that made the difference. The menu repeatedly stated that nothing was wrapped, which we found very unfortunate, as the food would then be thrown away. On the one hand, food is being thrown away unnecessarily, and on the other hand, we paid for it. So, if you go there in the future, you should pack a Tupperware container. The Jägerschnitzel came with spaetzle. We asked if we could have Kässspätzle instead of plain spaetzle. This was immediately declined, as they don't do that as a matter of principle. We then ordered Kässspätzle, Jägerschnitzel, and Hawaischnitzel. For three people and a gourmet block. The Kässspätzle and the spaetzle as a side dish were ready-made egg spaetzle noodles. We don't understand why you can't change the side dish with ready-made spaetzle, which simply has cheese mixed in. Oh well... The Hawaischnitzel...very small for the price. The taste was okay. Nothing special. My partner ate the Kässspätzle and dared to stack the plates on top of each other. After the Jägerschnitzel, the salad was finished, and here, too, we placed the salad plate on top of the Jägerschnitzel plate. We were immediately reprimanded, saying we weren't allowed to do that because the chef had to wash the dishes. Or at least, that's how we felt. And suddenly, the young waitress came and simply cleared the lower plates while we were eating. We couldn't react at all. It was a very strange situation. In general, we had the impression that we weren't welcome. Normally, we would have coffee and dessert, but we were so speechless and the atmosphere was so uncomfortable that we preferred to pay. Interestingly, the hostess decided which dish would go on the gourmet block. Not who came with the gourmet block. In any case, we were out again after an hour and treated ourselves to dessert and coffee somewhere else. We know that our review will be commented on, and we'll probably be branded as liars, like the other negative comments. We're just surprised that some people feel so comfortable and then such situations arise again and again, despite 40 years of experience. And we definitely gave no reason for them to treat us like that. We definitely won't be coming back and won't recommend it to anyone.

We stumbled upon the Adlerkeller by chance while passing through and were delighted. A rustic atmosphere, great food, and super friendly hosts. What a stroke of luck! Thank you for the lovely evening :)

Great restaurant!! A truly quaint restaurant with lots of charm – you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, almost as if you were visiting friends. Everything served is freshly prepared and tastes delicious. You can immediately tell that the food is cooked with love. If you value quality, authenticity, and a warm atmosphere, this is the place for you!

The four of us were at the Adlerkeller today and were not only treated to culinary delights but also enjoyed the company of Yvonne and Rudi. Their open nature made us feel immediately welcome and we had a great time. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. If we don't see each other again before then, we wish you a wonderful retirement and safe travels.

After reading some of the owners' comments, and the friendly chef apparently has health problems, I'm removing the first part from the review. Even though I don't understand why I want the first guests to arrive around 7 p.m. if I open the restaurant at 5 p.m., that's how we felt today. We called at 5:15 p.m., and yes, it wasn't until 7 p.m. I then asked if it was possible to open at 6:30 p.m., which was fine. So we whiled away another hour in town. However, when we arrived, the entire beer garden was empty, and the next reservation didn't arrive until around 7:30 p.m. (A family and a couple also arrived around this time without reservations, which isn't welcome, of course.) If it's not possible due to health reasons, perhaps the opening hours should be changed. Besides, the restaurant is closing at the end of the year anyway, and I wish the couple who run it a well-deserved retirement. But now we come to the part that's completely unacceptable. Then the landlady came over and started ranting about how most people with the Schlemmerblock only order a meal and a drink and rarely order soup, salad, etc. My girlfriend, for example, is simply satisfied with a regular portion. And she barely manages it. So I often have to eat with her. I can't then force down a side salad for €8.90, I think, and €7.90 for three scoops of ice cream with whipped cream, which I find too high. That's also the reason for the two-star deduction. The conditions at the Schlemmerblock are clearly defined. If I don't like them as a restaurant, I can't eat there anymore. The food was very tasty, though. The main courses were also perfectly reasonable in price. The chef, the young waiter, and the manageress, apart from the Schlemmerblock statement, were also very friendly, and the atmosphere in the beer garden was really lovely. If we could have spontaneously eaten at the restaurant, we would have certainly visited it more often in the future, even without a gourmet block.

An absolute must-do in Kaufbeuren. They still put their heart and soul into their work here. A very nice couple and truly delicious food.

Wir sind mit dem Fahrrad auf Allgäuumrundung und machen Zwischenstation in Kaufbeuren. Eine Empfehlung brachte uns in den Adlerkeller. Eine tolle Empfehlung. Neben einem sehr leckeren Essen in schöner, uriger Atmosphäre gab es viele Geschichten aus dem Leben des „Restaurants“ . In dieser schnelllebigen Zeit bleibt diese herzliche und offene Gastfreundschaft in ganz besonderer Erinnerung. Vielen Dank dafür und für den hervorragenden Zwiebelrostbraten. The manager in Kaufbeuren has a reputation for being very rude, and we had that same experience. We left without eating. There was no friendly greeting, and we had the feeling she was annoyed by guests who wanted to eat there.

Unfortunately, we were not at all satisfied with our visit to the Adlerkeller. The manager scolded her two waitresses at a volume that all the guests could hear. The food, unfortunately, could also have been improved... the spaetzle were the kind you'd expect from a package. The side salad, €8.50, and apple fritters, €15, are, in my opinion, very overpriced... As we were leaving, my friend briefly put her child down on the table. Then the manager came out of the kitchen and yelled at us to take her down, saying that the diaper change was completely unhygienic. All in all, we wouldn't recommend the restaurant!!!

Wir waren heute dort essen und wurden direkt herzlich empfangen. Super leckere Vorspeise und ein ausgezeichneter Hauptgang zur Krönung des ganzen gab es ein leckeres Dessert. Super Küche nur zu empfehlen haben direkt für den nächsten Tag einen Tisch reserviert.

Eine sehr herzliche Begrüßung. Die Speisekarte und Besonderheiten wurden vorgestellt und erklärt. Mein Mann war in seiner Bundeswehr Zeit einige Male hier. Das wollte er er mir zeigen und noch einmal Schnitzel mexico essen.

I wandered in spontaneously, and even though all the tables were reserved, they still found a spot for me. It's a shame I didn't discover the Adlerkeller sooner. The food was fresh, quickly prepared, and absolutely delicious. I look forward to coming back (with a reservation, then)! Thank you for your hospitality!

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und ein super Essen. Sowohl die Wirtin als auch der Wirt sind herrliche Originale! Schmeißen den Laden eine gefühlte Ewigkeit und haben offensichtlich richtig Spaß daran, trotz des fortgeschritten Alters 😀. Sie sollten sich doch nochmal überlegen, demnächst in Rente zu gehen!!! We recently went there for dinner. The food was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. It was lovely! We'll come back again when the weather is nice and the beer garden is open.

Schon beim Hereinkommen spürte man die Herzlichkeit der Wirtin. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, bekamen wir bald einen Platz zugewiesen. Vor dem Bestellen gab es von der Wirtin Erklärungen zu den besonderen Gerichten. Auch wurde der andere Kellner mit Namen vorgestellt. Getränke und das Essen wurden sehr schnell serviert und hat lecker geschmeckt. Da es uns sehr gut geschmeckt hat, sind wir auch die beiden anderen Tage unseres Aufenthalts in den urigen Biergarten gekommen. Wozu nach was anderem suchen, wenn es da doch gut schmeckt 😋. Auch mit dem Chef des Hauses konnten wir gute Gespräche führen und es wurde uns so mancher Tip für unsere Radtour gegeben. Wie übrigens auch von der Chefin für einen Hamburgaufenthalt. Besonders empfehlen können wir Gerichte mit Pfeffersoße ( wir hatten ein Steak und Bratkartoffeln das aber gar nicht auf der Karte war ) so eine gute Soße habe ich noch nirgends gegessen. Vielleicht kommen wir vor eurer wohlverdienten Pensionierung noch einmal zu euch, ansonsten wünschen wir euch gute Gesundheit und noch viele schöne Momente. Ihr seid einfach spitze!

A true gem in Kaufbeuren! Our visit to the Adlerkeller was an absolute highlight. The food was not only excellent, but prepared with great attention to detail – the taste was of the highest standard. The friendly and attentive service deserves special mention: warm, professional, and with a genuine sense of hospitality. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, and you immediately feel welcome. You can tell that the food here is prepared with passion and experience. Every course was a delight, the portions generous, and the price absolutely justified. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food in a family atmosphere – we'll definitely be back!

I spontaneously dropped in with my daughter today. We were warmly welcomed by the landlady and asked if we had a reservation. Even though we didn't have one, a table was prepared for us and the menu was immediately brought. She explained various specialties and additional dishes to us. The choice was quickly made. In the meantime, we were able to look around the restaurant. It was lovingly decorated with various items. It may be a matter of taste, but I really enjoyed it. My daughter chose roast pork with red cabbage and dumplings. I chose a schnitzel "Rudi" with a side salad. The landlady chatted to various tables, engaging in loving and skillful conversation with the guests. We felt very comfortable in the company of the hosts. The food was freshly prepared by her husband, and after a short wait, it was served. Both dishes tasted excellent. They were filling and reasonably priced. After the meal, we were offered dessert from the dessert menu. Here, too, the landlady explained some of the specialties. Here we opted for a cheesecake with vanilla sauce, chocolate decoration, and almond flakes. They said it would be served piping hot, and they told us it would be served hot. This, too, tasted excellent. Although the prices are mid-range, I was happy to pay the bill. I've rarely felt so well looked after and so warmly welcomed in a restaurant. The landlady knows her stuff and has good advice for everyone. She asked about our plans and recommended herself for the following evening, as there's nowhere else to eat in the area in the evenings. You can still get something to eat even at 9:30. That's not a given these days. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. It's a shame the landlord and his wife are retiring at the end of the year. We came spontaneously on the recommendation of Hotel Felix and were absolutely thrilled. They were incredibly hospitable and very friendly. We felt like regulars from the very beginning. Food is prepared as long as the restaurant is open, which has been the case for a long time in the region, as is the case with many other restaurants, which was absolutely fantastic for us spa visitors. The food was delicious; the chef still cooks it himself, and you can taste it. Thank you both again for the outstanding service. We hope we can visit you again. All the best and kind regards :-)

Grüß Gott aus Vorarlberg(Österreich) Ich war mit meiner Mama und ihrer Schwester aus Johannesburg von einem Ausflug von den Königsschlössern in Füssen auf der Rückfahrt nach Bad Wörishofen. Als wir durch Kaufbeuren fuhren, dachten wir dass wir dort in einem Lokal Speisen wollten. Von der geplanten Route in der Innenstadt bogen wir dann an einer Hauptkreuzung links ab und ein paar hundert Meter danach sahen wir das Restaurant Adlerkeller. Da sagte jeder gleich im Auto: Das Gasthaus sieht gut aus - Urig-Traditionell mit großem Parkplatz - da gehen wir rein. Als wir hinein gingen war der Anblick Mega-Cool: Tolle, gemütliche Einrichtung und über der Theke hingen viele Geldscheine aus aller Welt - optimal dachte ich, weil ich bin auch schon einigermaßen in der Welt umher gekommen und meine Tante aus Johannesburg gab der sehr netten Wirtin Yvonne gleich einen Rand-Schein(Südafrikanische Währung) für die Theke. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und gleich über die Empfehlungen des Hauses informiert. Ich habe als Vorspeise die Bärlauchsuppe und als Hauptgericht das Rudi-Schnitzel(mit Chili-Chicken Sauce und Käse überbacken bestellt. Dann plauderten wir ein bischen über Gott und die Welt, da meine Tante aus Johannesburg auf Urlaub hier war und die Wirtsdame mit Mann Rudolf auch schon viel in der Welt herumgekommen sind. Im Nu kam schon die Bärlauchsuppe, die vorzüglich geschmeckt hat. Anschließend wurden die Hauptspeisen ohne Wartezeit zu Tische gebracht. Mein Rudi-Schnitzel war der Hammer - perfekte Kombi mit der Sauce und Käse überbacken und sehr gute Fleischqualität und super Pommes(Ketchup war genügend auf dem Teller, nicht wie üblich die "Briefchen-Ketchups" abgepackt). Der Teller war perfekt, die Portion sehr ausreichend und das Fleich wie man sich es vorstellt. Meine Mutter hatte das "Süße-Olga-Schnitzel mit Preiselbeeren und Kren mit Käse überbacken - auch sehr sehr lecker(Ich durfte den Rest von Ihr aufessen, weil es eine sehr gute Portion war und meine Mama es nicht geschafft hatte fertig zu Essen :-). Meine Tante hatte ein vegetarisches Gericht und sie war sehr zufrieden mit dem Geschmack und der Portion. Sie ist in Johannesburg schon 51 Jahre lang in der Gastronomie und Catering tätig und ich weiss, dass sie einen hohen Anspruch bezüglich Essen hat und ihr hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Also das Fazit: Sehr tolles Ambiente, ausgezeichneter Service - sehr familiär, freundlich und gemütlich, super Standort(mit sehr tollem Biergarten den wir bei einer kurzen Zigarettenpause gesehen haben - ps.: für Raucher auch super geeignet, da man direkt durch das Lokal zum hinteren Aussenbereich gelangt.), kurze Wartezeit. Also wir bedanken uns hiermit nochmals für den sehr gemütlichen und zuvorkommenden Service und super Unterhaltung. Wir waren gestern auf Empfehlung von Katja (Hotel Felix) im Adlerkeller zum Abendessen. Dort wurden wir sofort sehr herzlich empfangen, Das Ambiente ist sehr urig und das Essen war köstlich. Wir haben uns sehr gut unterhalten. Ein bewundernswertes Paar!

Ein uhriges süßes Restaurant Die Inhaber sind super freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Wir haben uns auf Anhieb wohlgefühlt und können nur weiter empfehlen dort zu essen. Das essen war auch sehr lecker vorallem die Apfelküchle kann ich wärmstens empfehlen. Alles in allem kann ich absolut nichts negatives sagen. Wir kommen gerne wieder wenn sich die Gelegenheit bietet.

Das Essen von Rudi, dem Koch, die freundliche Bedienung durch Yvonne und ihre spannenden Erzählungen von Weltreisen ziehen mich immer wieder in den Adlerkeller. Außerdem gibt es dort einen fantastischen Kaiserschmarrn – allerdings nur auf Vorbestellung!

Ich war das erste Mal hier und wurde direkt ganz lieb empfangen. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Ich persönlich mag diese Atmosphäre. Gemütlich und jedes noch so kleine Dekostück erzählt seine Geschichte. Die lieben Gastgeber, Rudi und Yvonne waren sehr zuvorkommend. Es wurde direkt die Tageskarte erklärt und auch gewisse Dinge empfohlen. Man hat das Gefühl, sich schon ewig zu kennen. Das Essen ist gut bürgerlich, was es leider viel zu selten gibt. Es ist alles frisch zubereitet und wirklich sehr lecker. Nun noch etwas zum Ambiente. Man merkt, dass sich die beiden sehr um die Soldaten um Kaufbeuren kümmern. Dies spiegelt sich auch in gewissen Dekoelementen wieder. Für mich persönlich ein Highlight. Meiner Meinung nach wird die deutsche Bundeswehr viel zu wenig gewürdigt. Hier ist das anders und das hat mich persönlich sehr gefreut. Ich komme gerne wieder☺️. Vielen Dank euch beiden, dass ihr auch meinen Mann so gut versorgt ☺️😘 Natascha und Peter

Very cozy, rustic restaurant, friendly service, freshly cooked food, gladly again

Wir waren bereits mehrfach zu Gast im Adlerkeller. Auch bei unserem heutigen Besuch wurden wir von den beiden Inhabern Yvonne und Rudi wieder herzlich empfangen, das Essen war - wie immer - hervorragend. Ein Besuch im historischen Adlerkeller ist einfach nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Restaurants. Die liebevoll gemütlich eingerichteten Räumlichkeiten in Verbindung mit den beiden Wirtsleuten und dazu die ausgezeichnete gut bürgerliche Küche machen einen Besuch im Adlerkeller jedes Mal aufs neue besonders. Weiter so!!

Wir wurden nicht freundlich behandelt, das Essen war bei beiden Essen lauwarm, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht besonders, Konzept und lokal eher altmodisch, nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Das Lokal wird in Kürze schließen und wir hatten den Eindruck dass die Besitzerin keine große Lust mehr hat.

Wir haben an Silvester im Adlerkeller das Silvesterdinner genossen. Die Yvonne und der Rudi haben den Abend mit viel Liebe und Hingabe zu einem wunderbaren Erlebnis werden lassen. Das Essen vom Rudi war ein Traum und die Yvonne war mit dem Andreas im Service eine Wucht. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder zu euch. Besonders empfehlen können wir die Herzlichkeit, das liebevolle Ambiente und Rudi's wunderbares Essen - sterneverdächtig! Liebe Grüße nach Kaufbeuren. 😍🤩😍

Zum dritten Mal dort gewesen und jedes Mal ein einzigartiger Abend gewesen. Selten so gut gegessen, Rudi übertrifft jedes Mal die Erwartungen. In Kombination mit Yvonnes Empfehlungen kann man hier nichts falsch machen. Durch die tolle Atmosphäre fühlt man sich sofort willkommen und vergisst die Zeit. Riesen Dank Yvonne, Rudi und Andreas für die tollen Abende !

Authentic experience with heart-warming ambiance and hospitality. Amazing food done with unique creative and unique touch on traditional recipes by the chef. We had a very unique home- made schnitzels recipes and salad with homemade sauce - absolute must! On top place serves one of the best beer from the local small brewery of Irsee monastery- it was a special “go for “! Not to forget - an inspiring ( how anyone should love what one’s do) hostess, that made us warmly welcomed, thank you!

Shocked in love after entering the restaurant ❤️ a beautiful large bar, cozy interior decoration at Christmas time, nice reception. However, you should make a reservation, we were lucky to get space. Duck was excellent and even boneless. The dessert: Holla the forest fairy, like from a storybook for confectioners. We will definitely come back soon!

We had dinner on Boxing Day and were more than satisfied. You can just tell that a lot of passion goes into the whole thing. The taste and service were great And to our credit...children are welcome...which is not a given these days.

Waren das erste mal im Adlerkeller.. Und sind total begeistert!!! Essen und Ambiente einfach super, auch Yvonne und Rudi sehr nette Wirtsleute...! Wir kommen gerne wieder 🥰

Wenn der Schweinsbraten in der Päckchen Sauce schwimmt! Zum Empfang gleich der Hinweis, das Garderobe an der Stuhllehne nicht erwünscht ist! Essen der Speisekarte für Einheimische sehr befremdlich! Hühnerflügel sehr spannend mit VIEEELLL Panade! Und wenig Fleisch. Zwiebelrostbraten viel zu Zäh, nichts für Senioren. Schweinebraten mit Spätzle und Sauce aus dem Einheitstopf. Furchtbar! Drei Essen und immer die gleiche Sauce. Rudi hat das Kochen bei der Bundeswehr gelernt. So ist auch der Umgangston in dieser Kneipe! 1x und nie wieder!

Sehr gutes Essen und ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente, sehr nette Bedienung. Es ist aber besser vor einem Besuch ein Tisch zu Reservieren.

Wir waren an zwei auf einander folgenden Abenden zum Essen da, weil es uns so gut gefallen hat. Das Essen war super. Rudi hat super lecker gekocht. Alles frisch und mit Liebe angerichtet. Nachdem wir mittags schon kurz vor Ende der Öffnungszeit noch mit 8 Personen vorbeikommen durften, wurden wir mit sehr leckeren außergewöhnlichen Schnitzelkreationen bewirtet. Sehr guter Service.

War ein sehr netter Empfang von den Besitzern der Lokalität. Die eigen Kreationen des Koches waren interessant und sehr lecker. Sehr zu empfehlen, immer wieder gerne.

Wir haben uns spontan entschlossen hier Abendessen zu gehen und das war die genau richtige Entscheidung. Das Essen war super und wir haben uns hier richtig wohl gefühlt. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen und werde wieder kommen.

Ended up in the Adlerkeller by chance while on a motorcycle tour. Very friendly service and owner. You simply have to recommend the food. Störtebeckerschnitzel is a must👍👍

The landlady warned us right away that the food might take longer due to a lack of staff, but the beer garden looked rustic and so we stayed. The service from the landlady was very personal and the food was very tasty. As one of 3 promotional dishes I chose the Störtebecker schnitzel. I had never baked schnitzel with shrimps before, it was really great! A nice Swiss couple sat down at the table with us and we had a really nice evening with great food.

FRIED potatoes from the deep fryer, as well as the not very large Cordon Bleu, which unfortunately sizzled too long. The price was also quite high for the Ostallgäu. The boss sometimes used a different tone at the neighboring tables, which was very unpleasant. The various constructions of the beer garden seemed to have been unprofessionally self-made, and one staircase even had to be closed because it was in disrepair.

After the dances at the Rondell, we walked to the Adlerkeller. As a child I often went there with my parents and remembered it being delicious and very nice. I have to say, 30 years later nothing has changed: the beer garden is cozy and beautifully decorated, the food was phenomenal (we had a schnitzel and spare ribs), and the service was super friendly. As soon as we are back in KF, we will come back! Thank you!

Ich bin sprachlos, so viel Freude, Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft habe ich noch nie erlebt. Das Essen ein Traum und mit Liebe gemacht...Hier stimmt einfach Alles!!! Überzeugt euch selbst, aber Vorsicht... SUCHTGEFAHR ;)

Wir wurden bereits beim Betreten sehr herzlich begrüßt und man hatte bereits nach kurzer Zeit das Gefühl, schon viele Jahre Gast zu sein. Das Ambiente ist sehr urig und gemütlich und sorgt für viel Gesprächsstoff am Tisch. Die Speisekarte bieten neben den bekannten Klassikern auch Gerichte, die man sonst nirgendwo findet. Das Essen schmeckte super lecker und der Service war auch ausgezeichnet. Wenn ich es noch einmal in die Nähe schaffe, werde ich den Adlerkeller auch sehr gerne wieder besuchen.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Die Einrichtung ist urig und einladend. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker. Ich werde gerne wiederkommen.

We became aware of the Adlerkeller via the Schlemmerblock. We made a reservation there today and also said we would come across the block. We arrived there full of anticipation, but as soon as we were greeted we were told to hang our jackets in the coat rack because we didn't want them on the chair. Then we went to the table, my partner and I sat down next to each other on the bench, which was commented on by the innkeepers from the counter with the comment "but we didn't set the table like that." I brought the placemat and cutlery to my place myself, which was probably not right as the landlady came straight away and moved the tablecloth... a card didn't come at first. Instead, at the next table we heard the landlady explaining to a guest that he couldn't have the Kaiserschmarren he wanted because it wasn't prepared for just one person 🤔. As she walked past us, I mentioned that we were there with the Schlemmeer block and held up the section... My mistake... I had torn out the voucher in advance and didn't take the block with me... ok. The landlady must have explained this to me five times. Yes, I made the mistake, but we are guests. I got it the first time. By the way, I can't understand the argument: if the voucher has already been torn off, you can't tell whether it's from our gourmet block or from another... (if I have a friend's gourmet block with me, no one can understand that either. ..) but no matter, as I said, my mistake, I "broke the rules" as I was told at least 5 times.. Nevertheless, I have never been treated so unfriendly in a restaurant from the moment I was greeted until we left (we chose not to eat there because of the unnecessary discussion - you have to feel comfortable too). It's a shame, the reviews from those who did NOT come with the Schlemmerblock are very positive.

On our way to South Tyrol we discovered this pearl of gastronomy. In addition to excellent hospitality with great food, you can feel the passion and warmth of the owners. Be sure to listen to the landlady and try the schnitzel specialties - Rudi's schnitzel was a revelation :-). Thank you for the great evening

Auf der Suche nach einem Abendessen sind wir durch Tripadvisor auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Die Besitzerin Yvonnne, ihr Mann Rudi in der Küche und die nette Servicekraft waren allesamt sehr nett und reizend. Das Essen war super lecker, wirklich empfehlenswert. Keine Fertigprodukte, eine riesengroße Auswahl, gute Portionen. Wir werden das nächste Mal sicherlich wieder vorbeikommen! Wirklich ein Geheimtipp. Wir haben lecker gegessen und haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt, danke dafür!

Unfortunately the visit was disappointing. We made reservations with the Schlemmerblock. When we were there, the restaurant was almost empty, but we still had to sit at the table with an older couple. Unfortunately it took a while until we got the menu and when we wanted to order, the owner was talking to the next table. As she was about to leave with the menus, we pointed out to her that we still hadn't ordered. My friend came to the table cold but without carbonation. My Allgäuer Schnitzel was served with a ready-made sauce and ready-made spaetzle. While we were eating, the owner scolded the young employee twice so that it was clearly audible. Unfortunately, that made the visit a bit unpleasant. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant sind wir zufällig im Adlerkeller gelandet. Gott sei Dank! Schon die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich, wir fühlten uns sofort wohl. Die Speisekarte ließ auch keine Wünsche offen. Es gäbe noch viel zu berichten - zusammenfassend: Man merkt vom ersten Augenblick an dass Yvonne und Rudi das Restaurant mit viel Herzblut betreiben. Wir empfehlen deshalb selber testen :-)

Wir haben gestern unsere kleine Weihnachtsfeier meiner Firma nachgeholt und waren begeistert! Das Essen ist einfach mega lecker und der Service super freundlich! A few weeks ago we spontaneously went to Kaufbeuren and were hungry. We became aware of the Adlerkeller via TripAdvisor and thought we would give it a chance. Short version: "We were not disappointed!" Great ambience, excellent (unusual) food and, from the warm welcome onwards, just a great evening. Our 6 year old was also really excited and ate 2 schnitzels straight away, which is not exactly common 😊 The price/performance ratio is more than just reasonable. I can only warmly recommend the Adlerkeller to everyone and we definitely weren't here for the last time! Many thanks again to the hosts for this wonderful evening.

Wir waren vor einigen Wochen spontan in Kaufbeuren und hatten Hunger. Über TripAdvisor sind wir auf den Adlerkeller aufmerksam geworden und dachten uns, wir geben dem ganzen mal eine Chance. Kurzfassung: "Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht!" Tolles Ambiente, hervorragendes (ausgefallenes) Essen und von der herzlichen Begrüßung an einfach ein toller Abend. Auch unser 6jähriger war total begeistert und hat direkt 2 Schnitzel gefuttert, was nicht gerade üblich ist 😊 Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist mehr als nur angemessen. Ich kann den Adlerkeller jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen und auch wir waren hier garantiert nicht zum letzten Mal! Nochmals vielen Dank an die Wirtsleute für diesen wunderbaren Abend.

Da wir von Frankfurt kamen und Hunger hatten, haben wir uns spontan für dieses Restaurant entschieden. Zum Glück, denn die Chefin hat uns trotz diverser Reservierungen noch einen Tisch angeboten. Wir haben vorzüglich gespeist inklusive einem traumhaften Nachtisch. Sehr gastfreundlich. Kann man nur empfehlen. Gerne wieder.

Everything here is furnished with love. Over the Christmas period and into the New Year, the ceiling is decorated with real fir branches and more. In addition to the standard menu, there is also a special selection of daily specials put together by the chef (owner). We were very enthusiastic about the food, it tasted great, everything was freshly prepared. There is no run-of-the-mill food here. you can tell that the work here was done with love.

Unfriendly service, value for money is not right, some ready meals. Not recommended!

Obwohl wir bei schlechtem Wetter 20 Minuten vor Öffnung da waren, wurden wir freundlich hereingebeten. Zum Glück. Wir haben einen unvergesslichen Abend mit leckerem Essen und unglaublich nettem Service erleben dürfen. Sobald Chef und Chefin ein wenig Zeit hatten, gesellten sie sich zu uns und unterhielten uns mit netten Geschichten. Wir waren so begeistert, dass wir sonntags um 11:00 direkt wieder eingekehrt sind.

Es war wieder einmal ein absoluter Traum... Das Ambiente ist wunderbar, die Küche vorzüglich und der Service einfach wunderbar! Definitiv empfehlenswert und wir werden sehr gerne wieder kommen!!!

Es ist ein eingespieltes Team. Da passt kein Blatt Papier dazwischen. Die Dame ist 76 und der Koch ist 70. Dagegen ist ein Turnschuh ein ausgetretener Latschen mit Rutschprofil! Die Deko ist geschmackvoll gemütlich einzigartig. Wer Ideen sucht, kann sich Weihnachtsshows jetzt sparen. Der Gastraum ist zwar klein, so 50 schnuckelige Plätze und acht, zehn Tische, aber trotzdem passend eingerichtet. Die Tische sind mit zweierlei Stofftüchern gedeckt. Wo gibt's das schon? Wäsche waschen, Tischdecken nach jeder Bewirtung. Nur die Servietten sind aus Papier. "Nein, wir müssen mindestens eine halbe Stunde warten und der Koch besteht auf eine 1/2 Stunde für die Zubereitung". Viele meinen: "Leute, wir gehen dann eben. Das ist doch nicht perfekt"! Perfekt ist was anderes! Der Stuhl dient absolut bequem. Nichts zwickt. Die Deko ist essbar, bestehend aus Nüssen und Schokoladen, Teelichtern und Zweigen: Was man halt so braucht zu Weihnacht! Die Wanddekoration? Pferdehalfter! Ich überlegte, wie man als Pferd das so trägt. Die Decke ist tief abgehängt, festliche Ballons, aber keine Nadeln, die herumliegen: nirgendwo und womöglich ins Essen fallen. Kein üblicher Trödel!!! Ich kam am Hl. Abend hierher. Bei mir gab's Stress! Ich habe Blickkontakt bekommen! Was machen die denn da? Die tauschen glatt ihre Menüs! Jede darf die Hälfte der anderen. A Schwätzle hend se ond gmeinsama Kass' machat se au no! Nedde Leid' äba. Alles war reserviert. Doch habe ich noch ein Plätzchen an einem Vierertisch bekommen: "Die sind zu zweit aber erst in einer 1/2 Stunde kommen die. Das geht schon." Ich habe mich klein wie ein Mäuschen brav hingesetzt. "Ich nehme gleich das Festmenü. Es muss nicht 'a la Carte sein"! "Wir machen nur 'a la Carte!" Stolz legt mir die "Junge Dame (76)" die Karte vor. Neben den üblichen schwäbischen Leckereien, Kässpätzle usw. gab es 12 Extras. Aber immer ein bisschen anders als bei "McDonald's"! Ich wählte das mexikanische Steak (med) für 30,90 € mit Pfefferraumsauce und reichlich Kroketten. Ole! Nach zehn Minuten kam der Koch (70) und stört mich doch glatt beim Traumausflug ins "Weihnachtsland". "Tssschuldigung? Es geht scho' los"! Ein gemischter Salat kam da: extra frisch mit Salatgurken, Möhren, nach schwäbischer Art. Das Dressing?SchlankervJoghurt - bestens abgerundet, nur ganz leicht süß. Wenn da Knofi dabei war? Vergesst es! Ich war noch nicht nicht fertig, da kam das Steak: "I stör' scho' wiedr". Der "Junge Herr (70)" stellt mir ein Steak hin, das ich in solcher Pracht lange nicht mehr zu sehen bekam. Ich schneide an! Medium, absolut auf den Punkt, die Rahmsauce gebräunt und absolut perfekt gebunden mit schwarzem Pfeffer (!), die Farbe und auch sonst, als wäre das Steak von Frank Rosin (2 Sterne), genau passend in der Schärfe. Die Kroketten, wenn sie nicht selbst gemacht sind, so hat er eine Spitzenquelle. Ich habe nichts gemerkt. Und während ich da so saß und aß dachte ich: Das bestelle ich gleich nochmal! Die Preise sind für alle Geldbeutel tragbar. JAZZKELLER: Uncle Satchmo's ES gibt einen Biergarten und den Jazzkeller mit 86 Plätzen, der einmal ein Bierkeller war. Fest gebucht sind HABANA traditional: Obwohl der Termin nur wage feststeht, besteht die Warteliste schon aus 35 Fans, die darauf warten, bis die Band es krachen lässt: drei Cubaner und drei Deutsche mit einem Sound wie "Uncle Satchmo" und "Buena Vista Social Club." Wim Wenders kommt aber nicht. Das glaube ich aufs Wort. Ich habe mich gleich drauf setzen lassen. Jetzt bin ich mit Yvonne per Du! Juhu! Die Karte ist aber etwa so teuer, wie andere Konzerte auch : so ca. 95 €. Wer es kennt: Es gibt immer wieder Pausen und geht wohl bis in die tiefe Nacht. VORHER ANRUFEN!!! DAS GILT AUCH FÜR'S ESSEN!!! ABER WAS SOLL'S: EINMAL GEHT DAS SCHON!!! Nur eine Sache gibt's leider. Niemand ist perfekt: Ich habe leider den ersten Besuch erst jetzt gemacht, obwohl ich seit 2017 hier wohne. Das ist ein schwerer schwerer Fehler!!! Deshalb gibt 's koine fümf, au koine zwoi, auch koin einziga Stöern. Mir haut's 'n Vog'l 'naus: 10 STÖERN!!! Ond an Kuss auf'd Hand!

Heutzutage muss man wirklich suchen, um Gaststätten mit deutscher Küche zu finden. Dann noch eine Gaststätte mit GUTER deutscher Küche zu finden…ein schwieriges Unterfangen. Aber wir haben es in Kaufbeuren geschafft. Obwohl alles belegt war, wurde uns in den nächsten 30min ein freier Tisch zugesichert. Wir haben ein Top Abend in familiärer Atmosphäre erlebt. Selbst die Gäste hier waren ein Genuss. Hier wird Gastronomie noch gelebt!!! Kundenzufriedenheit hat oberste Priorität. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Ambiente, die nette Bedienung, der gute Koch und die eifrige junge Dame hinter der Theke haben zu einem perfekten Abend beigetragen. Hut ab (Insider)🤠

Przepiękne klimatyczne miejsce. Obsługa perfekcyjna ! Wlascicielka mimo podeszłego wieku bardzo dobrze rozmawia w języku angielskim, za co ogromny plus ! Jedzenie wyśmienite. Zupa gulaszowa najlepsza jaka jadłam do tej pory !

Urig, authentisch, herzlich und lecker! Im Zuge eines Urlaubsaufenthaltes im Allgäu kamen wir hier am Heiligen Abend zum Abendessen in dieses Lokal. Der Empfang war freundlich und nett, wir saßen neben einer netten Runde von Stammgästen, die sich sichtlich wohl fühlten. Auch uns wurde es gleich weihnachtlich zumute, da dass Lokal sich in weihnachtlicher Atmosphäre dar bot. Nüsse, Schokolade und andere kleine Naschereien wurden auf den Tischen angeboten und mit dem Hinweis, dass diese gerne gegessen werden dürften. Dies Liesen wir uns nicht entgehen und begannen damit, Nüsse zu knacken. Die Wirtin überbrachte uns sodann die Speisekarte, die übersichtlich und gut lesbar beschrieben war. Schnell war geklärt, was wir bestellen wollten und wir gaben die Bestellung auf. Nach angemessener Zeit wurde nacheinander Gängegerecht die Speisen serviert. Diese waren lecker angerichtet, famos abgeschmeckt und beanstandungsfrei. Am Ende wurde noch ein Nachtisch, eigens kreiert von der Chefin persönlich, angereicht, der mehr als lecker war. Ein gelungener Abend und ein Küchenchef, der wahrlich gut kochen kann und sein Filetsteak mit Pfeffersoße ein Gedicht kulinarischer Hochstimmung seine Kreation nennen darf. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und unser Hund war selten in einer Umgebung einer Gastwirtschaft so entspannt und gechillt wie hier. Wir kommen wieder, versprochen!

Eine Wirtschaft wie aus dem Märchen. Schon von weitem, von der Straße, lockte der weihnachtliche Lichterglanz der Fenster ins festlich geschmückte Innere. Empfangen von der Chefin des Hauses, weiß man sofort, hier ist man richtig. Nach ausreichendem Studium der Karte und einem Haus Aperitif mit leckeren, frischen Früchten ist die Wahl gefallen. Leckeres Süppchen mit Leberknödel und ein Filetsteak mit einer Pfeffersoße, die man selten findet, leckeren Kroketten und einem Salat vorneweg, der an Frische nicht zu überbieten war, kam der Gourmet in uns auf seine Kosten. Im Anschluss machte sich noch der süße Zahn bemerkbar und wurde mit einer Phantasiekreation der Genussvielfalt von leckerem Nachtisch ebenfalls auf sehr hohem Niveau von der Chefin höchst persönlich entworfen und kredenzt. Das Mahl wurde dann standesgemäß mit einem leckeren Jubiläumsaquavit zur Verdauung beendet. Die herzliche und freundschaftliche Begleitung, die kontinuierlich durch den ganzen Abend vorhanden war, entließ uns als Freunde dieses Kleinodes der Gastronomie in Kaufbeuren als letzte Gäste in die weihnachtliche Nacht mit der Gewissheit, heute einen besonderen Abend erlebt zu haben, der immer denkwürdig in unseren Erinnerungen verbleiben wird. Vielen Dank dafür! Ach so, ich vergaß noch zu erwähnen, dass wir immer wieder kommen werden, wenn wir in der Gegend sind. Und das ist alternativlos. 😉

Beim Besuch des Kaufbeurer Weihnachtsmarkt hatten wir das Glück, einen Tisch für uns und unsere Freunde zu bekommen. Wir können den Adlerkeller nur weiterempfehlen. Das Lokal ist liebevoll dekoriert und "kuschelig" warm. Wir wurden durch Yvonne sehr freundlich begrüsst und bedient. Von den feinen Schnitzel träumen wir jetzt noch. Für die zwei Kleinen gab es Pommfrittli und Fleisch. Auch diese Teller wurden restlos leergegessen. Vielen Dank für den unvergesslichen Aufenthalt bei euch im Adlerkeller.

Das Restaurant/Wirtshaus ist sehr liebevoll und kreativ dekoriert. Es ist urgemütlich und familiär geführt. Die Gerichte sind sehr lecker , ob Suppe oder Schnitzel, alles frisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.
