I've enjoyed going to El Cadoro Essen for years, but now it's the last time. Family dinner on Easter Monday with a greatly reduced holiday menu, which we were unfortunately not informed about when making the reservation. We weren't very impressed with the selection on offer as we were already looking forward to our usual meal. There were also no vegetarian dishes. Boss wanted to come to the table but didn't come. Waiter became rude when asked disappointedly whether this was the only menu. When the last meal was brought the first person had already finished eating. Some of the meat was still raw, as was the asparagus, which was much too firm. During the course of the evening there was hardly any opportunity to order another drink as there was rarely a waiter nearby. All in all, just very disappointing after so many years. Never again

Wünsch arrangieren....stattdessen ersatzkellner mit negativer Haltung... Schwester hat kein pfännchen...bekommen... schweine medallions ... waren nicht durch ..wohl mit steak vom koch verwechselt... Spargel mehr als bissfest....ich hatte einen hochroten Kopf... vor Enttäuschung... habe nur wegen der familie klein beigegeben... knapp 3 euro Trinkgeld dem negativen Kellner gegeben.... werde mit meiner familie nie wieder dort einkehren... der laden ist für uns gestorben... Pommes kann ich auch in der pommesbude bekommen... der Spaß hat 160 Euro gekostet.... nie wieder.... bye bye... El cadoro

In any case. We had dinner on Easter Sunday. The restaurant was very busy.

Our Chateaubriand was very good, perfectly cooked medium rare. The size of the menu is easily enough for 2 persons. The kids enjoyed their sirloin. All comes with a very nice, traditional service.

Cool place, great service and great food

The food was to die for. The portions are decent. The waiters were friendly but slightly stressed on a Saturday. Dogs weren't a problem either.

We only found out about this restaurant by chance and have to say that we are more than thrilled. Today we were there for the second time. You receive a very friendly welcome and the service leaves nothing to be desired throughout the evening. The employees are all very attentive, helpful and friendly. Thank God the memory card isn't terribly long, but there's still something for everyone. We had the steak with asparagus, chicken breast with pepper sauce and potato wedges, and a children's plate. Everything was prepared to perfection (a big compliment to the kitchen at this point). For dessert we had ice cream sundaes which were also very tasty. All in all, it was a great evening and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will be happy to come back again and again.

OMG, that was delicious. We went there with a couple of friends because they like to eat there. And I can totally understand why. The prices are a bit higher, but my steak was perfectly medium, just the way I like it, and my broccoli was still firm and not mushy. And my better half was happy with his meal, too. This won't be the last time we're here.

Excellent service. There were 18 of us there, and the food was served just in time. Truly exemplary. The ambiance was okay. It was very crowded and, as a result, quite loud. Our table was quite close together. The food was good, but for the price, some of our group would have expected more. It is quite expensive. There are parking spaces at the restaurant, but definitely not enough. There are plenty directly on the street, but you have to be lucky to get one, even on weekends.

We were recently here with two families including 4 children (3-10 years) and I was impressed by how cheerful and individual the approach was. The service is quick, friendly and professional. We felt very welcome and in good hands. As always, the steak was buttery soft. That's why we always like to come here. Since Corona, we have known that you can also order your food to take away, which we have occasionally used, not least to help ensure that the shop is still standing afterwards.

We had dinner at El Cadoro with six people on Christmas Day. It wasn't particularly busy, but the staff was unfriendly and apparently overwhelmed. Of course, as a waiter you can and may forget something when it's full, but it's not possible to be rude and interrupt the guest. To eat: The side salad was drowned in a pink thick sauce. We don't understand why we even got the side salad ready at the table, as there was actually a salad buffet that evening. The almond broccoli promised on the menu was hidden under a thick layer of Bernaise sauce, which was neither advertised nor requested. The pork tenderloin was flattened and didn't look like a solid piece of meat. The red wine sauce that came with it was extremely flat and tasteless. And despite the price of around €26 for this main course, there were three counted croquettes on the plate. And when the waiter only receives a small tip for this service and loudly trumpets the amount, which in his opinion is apparently too small, for other guests to hear, that only puts the crown on the whole thing in the most negative sense. In short: never again!

We were just disappointed - mass processing The lamb fillet was cooked through and went straight back, a second one was served within a very short time, the meat was on point, but not a bit seasoned, the fried potatoes were mushy. The liver tastes good, but a little too dry and with French fries it should be immediately obvious that they are not cooked. It's a shame, 5 stars used to be a given.

We were here for the first time, thanks to many recommendations from friends. The restaurant is furnished in a cozy, rustic style with lots of wood. Warm light, very cozy. The staff tried very hard, attentive and friendly. Empty glasses are quickly refilled and the food came quickly and smoothly. But then came the disappointment. My pork fillet was very small and covered with a light, tasteless sauce in which some cut mushroom heads were floating. A few fries and a handful of bacon beans. I had imagined fillet in champion cream to be different. My wife's pot of sliced ​​meat was swimming in sauce and didn't have enough rice. All in all, too expensive for portions that are too small. Other restaurants do this much better. It's a shame I can't understand the many recommendations.

This time the 250g fillet steak was particularly good! Service perfect as always. Small note: The Pallatschinken with ice cream is unfortunately not quite as good, a bit tough. Better an ice cream for dessert or another pilsner 😉 As always good! Very good value for money and excellent quality for a steakhouse. Better than Blockhouse and Maredo. For a good steak you need good meat without a lot of frills. That's why you have to reserve a table in advance ;-) The quality is still top!

Great restaurant with delicious food and a generous menu. We had two steaks, various side dishes and a dessert. The meat was cooked to perfection, the side dishes were delicious, as was the dessert. In terms of price, the whole thing is within reasonable limits. Neither cheap nor particularly expensive. The service, however, is top class. Rarely have I seen such a well-structured team at work. We were welcome guests with our dog despite the “full house” and are therefore very happy to come back.

The ambience has a nostalgic charm, as if you were transported 20 years into the past. The furnishings are cozy and reminiscent of the good old days, which makes the evening particularly pleasant. The steaks are cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. I particularly liked the simple but high-quality selection of side dishes. The fries and vegetable side dishes were fresh and tasty. The drinks menu is also well-stocked, with a solid selection of wines and beers that pair perfectly with the food. El Cadoro is the ideal place for anyone who appreciates good food without much fuss and wants to enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere.
