Eier Carl in Hamburg

For food e.g. E.g. (Labskaus, Mustard or the homemade!! Eggnog, various varieties) we are always happy to come by. There are other dishes too. . . . . Service is quick and friendly. Calling beforehand can secure your place. Conclusion: small and nice, very good food, prices are absolutely reasonable.

Delicious eggnog. Pear wasn't my favorite. Potato pancakes with herring. Ratsherren Sailors sip on tap is great

Sensational, rustic harbor restaurant with delicious dishes like nuts and excellent eggnog! The only drawback: no children's portions. I'm sure you can handle it, right? Definitely a must in Hamburg!

The best eggnog! A restaurant that is worthy of its name, you could say. We were warmly welcomed and served quickly. Unfortunately we didn't eat anything, but the surrounding tables looked delicious. A great atmosphere near the jetties. Highly recommended!

Great eggnog. I actually don't like eggnog but it's really tasty. The people are super nice and funny. We got a table even without a reservation and the food is also very good. The atmosphere is also very nice and you feel comfortable.

A nice, cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, very friendly service and the eggnog was great, was there every time we visited Hamburg, and the food is also highly recommended. A must for us when we are in Hamburg.

We happened to pass by this restaurant and because of the advertising for Schnitzel Day (Tuesdays) we decided to go in. The ambience is completely inspiring. Wonderfully rustic, Hanseatic cozy with attention to detail. The service was friendly and all employees were warm to us and our children. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. You could hear the schnitzels being made in the kitchen. The drinks rounded everything off. Absolute recommendation.

A really quaint pub/restaurant. As the name suggests "egg, .." simply the tastiest eggnog 😋 in different flavors, try them all. And if possible, reserve seats, there may be waiting times for groups of 4 or more. In any case, take another look.

I have been here several times and can recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy and authentic bar/restaurant. The staff has always been very nice, the food is great and the portions are appropriately large and the eggnog...I actually hate that stuff. But the eggnog here is just great! Definitely try it when you're here!

Very cozy corner pub, super clean and smoke-free. There are even air filters. The food is traditional, very well prepared home cooking (you can taste the clarified butter at Labskaus, for example). If you like councilors, there is a large selection here. The star of the menu is of course the homemade eggnog. Had some here for the first time in 25 years and it's so great that I ordered some home. Service very, very attentive and friendly. Can only praise!

Quaint, very cozy restaurant with popular dishes. The salad with fish was very tasty. The egg pancake with eggnog is great. It's worth trying the different eggnogs. The wine spritzer was fruity and tangy, as it should be. The waitress always had a quick saying on her lips. We'd love to come back.

Petard. Good food, delicious schnitzel with two eggs. Good beer. What great shots on eierkoniac. Is a board of six glasses. Cool atmosphere, nice service. Very nice time spent. I highly recommend it. When I'm in Hamburg, I'll come back!

The waitress was a very nice, real Hamburg woman. Unfortunately, the food took a relatively long time even though we didn't order anything special. But it was very tasty and also good price. Definitely a recommendation for anyone who likes good home cooking.

Really very nice inn. Delicious food and very friendly service. My first Labskaus (since there was finally a sample portion) was very good. Schnitzel and of course the eggnog tasting were also great. And there is Hopf wheat beer, what more could you want than Bayer in Hamburg 😆

Quite authentic European/German food with some scintillating eier liquors will complement your meal in the most perfect way possible. With a great location and atmosphere it's a great spot for essen.

Quaint restaurant right at the fish market. The service was great, nice and with Hamburg hospitality. The salad with panfish could have had more fish, but it was tasty. The salad dressing was a bit bland and not enough. If the salad was dressed it would be better. The bread pudding with chocolate and the eggnog board were very tasty. Drink prices too high.

We had a great meal, the Labsklaus was great (but also the first one). As for the bread pudding: As it says in the menu, just try it! Nobody will be disappointed. 🙂 The staff was also extremely attentive and friendly!

Very, very unsympathetic service and xenophobia is apparently very important here. I was ordered to do things here, with the note “our house, our rules”… snotty cheeky and never recommended. Customer is never king here. Once and definitely never again!!! Extremely disappointed

We heard and read such good things “here on Google” and wanted to try out the store, UNFORTUNATELY we were greeted by an annoyed service person, a shame! I've been in the catering industry myself for 23 years and to this day I can't understand why you work in service if you don't feel like it. We would like to try the food there, nice home cooking, but we have to think hard about whether we make the long journey there again. We got up from the table and moved on. Little tip, with a smile on your face and kindness in your heart, life is better and healthier 😊☀️

A small but nice menu. Not overloaded and looks identical. My husband had the Labskaus (eaten for the first time), but we will repeat it. I ate mustard. Really taste like nuts. It wasn't the first time we were here and it wasn't the last time either. Afterwards we drank the Eierlikör-Tadte (very tasty). We were also persuaded to have dessert. Chocolate bread pudding and an egg grog. 👍🏼 If you're in Hamburg, you have to go to Eier-Carl

Absolutely recommended. For me, the restaurant was TOP. Had dinner twice in a row. The staff, wonderfully authentic Hanseatic, you immediately feel at home. Next time we visit HH, we'll see each other.

We were given the tip that we definitely had to stop by Eier Carl during our visit to Hamburg. We weren't disappointed - the eggnog is some of the best we've ever had and the food is just great! Since then, you have to visit Eier Carl on all trips to Hamburg!

Food is good and tastes good. Service is nice and relatively quick. The wooden chairs inside are very hard unless you get padded ones. Unfortunately, points are deducted because we couldn't take the uneaten food (half a schnitzel) with us because there are no longer any take-away containers, supposedly because of new laws. Unfortunately, we didn't have any take-away containers with us either. Therefore we will probably not visit Eiercarl again.

Today we spontaneously stopped at Eier Carl. And for us it was really a revelation. We had various dishes from Hafenboller to schnitzel, Labskaus and Jungfernstieg salad. Everyone was super happy, it was incredibly tasty. It's great that different dishes are also available in small portions. And the dressing is served separately with the salad, so you can decide for yourself how much you use. For dessert there was grandma's bread pudding... don't think about it, just eat it. He is a poem. The ambience fits the harbor perfectly and the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. In addition, it is an absolutely fair price-performance ratio. We will be coming here more often from now on. 100% recommendation.

I actually wanted to try Labskaus, but I was also tempted by the mustard. Very tasty with the spinach, the sauce was seasoned just right. 6 half eggs are quite a lot, so I was able to give some away. The schnitzel wasn't small either. Unfortunately it was closed the next day, otherwise I would have come back again. Then only on the next visit to Hamburg.

We were at Eier Carl with four people. We enjoyed it very much and the prices are moderate. The defeat was very nice and gave us good advice. For dessert there was eggnog, which is definitely a must! We will definitely come back 👍

Are extremely disappointed. We wanted to eat with 8 people after the hit move and were happy to pour out the drinks that came with it, but were immediately thrown out. And we are over 60 and would have liked to eat and drink something. Are sober and just hungry. That's it.. always happy now never again.

This is a restaurant as it should be. The landlord is very careful and always friendly and helpful. My wife was also able to refresh memories from her childhood there and get mustard. The food is great and highly recommended.

This pub is right on the street, opposite the fish auction house. The service is friendly and the beer tastes very good. The homemade potato pancakes were also very tasty, a bit small but delicious.

This is where I ate labskaus for the first time. I hope it tastes just as good somewhere else. I also found the men's toilet very nice.

It's always an experience to be there, once a year on holiday. There we ate Labskaus for the first time and experienced a true miracle. Then I ate Hamburger Panfish for the first time and experienced another miracle. The coffee from the 25-year-old machine is also a dream and the latte comes in an unusual container. The dessert is also damn good, whether pancakes or bread pudding. The staff is nice, accommodating, always has a saying on their lips and it feels like they've known each other for years. It all sounds too good, doesn't it? Well then I tell you to convince yourself...

You become accustomed to bad service in Hamburg but the server here took rudeness to another level. Schnitzel was greasy, followed by bread pudding served with thin cold custard. I hope they were just having a bad day?

Nice restaurant and a very friendly staff.

This restaurant doesn't deserve a star. Wanted to go for a drink and wanted to sit at a table. Unfortunately, the staff immediately shouted at us that we weren't allowed to sit down because we had to clean up first. This doesn't give a nice impression of the staff and you notice how rude people are. I don't leave a cent there.

We ended up in this quaint pub quite by chance. We really liked the maritime atmosphere and the friendly staff. The dishes we ordered were delicious and the portions were definitely sized for good eaters. The price-performance ratio is more than good for Hamburg standards. We can recommend Eier-Carl and would be happy to come back!

Went to the local fish market in our motorhome and googled the place on the internet. After choosing our food on the homepage, we took the short route over to Eier Carl. The restaurant is not very big but is rustically furnished. The friendly service immediately brought us the menu, but we already knew what we wanted to eat. To accompany the Hamburger Panfisch and the mustard celebrations, we ordered the homemade eggnog as a starter. Like the food, this was very tasty. The portions might be a little too small for good eaters. Nevertheless, the restaurant can be recommended without reservation. We'll definitely come back again.

Very impolite. We wanted to have a drink and try the eggnog, which is supposed to be so good. But the unfriendly lady had no room for us. According to her, you can't use the large free table in the middle because the waitress has to constantly walk past it. And then the words: Drink something at the bar - no, that's not possible!" What else is it there for? Doesn't deserve a star at all.
