We (four people) were looking for a lunch spot and stumbled upon Eat by chance via a Maps search. Luckily, we were seated right away, but after that, the few available spots were taken. Our order was taken quickly, and the menu was explained in a friendly manner...great. All I can say about the food is amazing...superb quality, lots of flavor, and generous portions...We'll be back...and will probably make a reservation in advance, just to be on the safe side.

Super delicious food! Definitely recommend it! We had the vegan shitake tofu sandwich, the sweet potato fries, and the Holy Trinity Special. Absolutely delicious! Top-notch! We received a friendly welcome, and the "boss" very kindly introduced us to the menu. We felt very comfortable. Above all, someone put some thought into the vegan dish and conjured up a delicious meal! We'll be back!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat at all. We wanted to reserve a table (Friday at 7:00 p.m. for Tuesday). They cut me off on the phone with the statement: "Sorry, we don't have time right now, they're busy in the evening. Call back on Monday." I then asked if there was still space for my requested time. They told me, "Yeah, no idea, can't promise." The whole thing was followed by a "Bye, have a nice evening," but it sounded really unfriendly. That's never happened to me before. Every restaurant at least manages to leave a short note for a reservation. What a shame :/

A huge, fat mega compliment from the state capital of Lower Saxony to the state capital of Thuringia! The best street food I've ever eaten :-) ... Great and friendly team ... it's better to make a reservation on weekends (somehow they managed to get us in). Absolutely recommended *thumbs up

The eat team is simply the BEST. We've ordered for a birthday party twice now. All the guests, from young to old, were very satisfied. We had ribs, bulled pork, pastrami, and salads. All the ingredients are fresh, look fantastic, and taste incredibly delicious. Just eat at eat and see for yourself. The food was simply amazing, but unfortunately, there was way too much of it 🤣. The service, on the other hand, was very slow. We waited quite a while for our drinks.

Highly recommended, with very friendly and helpful service. This small restaurant has a lot of charm, and we had a truly delicious meal in a very pleasant atmosphere. Plentiful, very appetizingly presented – simply very, very good and delicious – exceptional. We had a pastrami and a pulled pork sandwich and were absolutely thrilled. If we're ever in Erfurt again, we'll eat here again.

The food was tasty and beautifully presented, but questions seemed to be banned. Even today, several days after the visit, I'm still shocked and even disturbed by the disrespectful and at times impulsive-aggressive reaction of the staff. I gave the restaurant a wide berth for the rest of my vacation.

We visited this restaurant for lunch and were actually looking forward to a relaxed meal. We ordered, among other things, "mashed potatoes" with chicken curry. Since the meat looked unusual to us (very dark, reddish-brown, even in color, and with a grain more reminiscent of beef), we cautiously asked if it was really chicken. The waiter immediately reacted very irritably and impulsively, refusing to let us speak. Instead, he complained continuously in a condescending tone, even incorporating this into another guest's payment. Although we repeatedly emphasized that we would believe him if he assured us it was chicken, the situation continued to escalate. In the background, the rest of the team also commented on our question, sometimes loudly. This seemed to be a show of authority. The cashier repeatedly shouted things at us like, "It wasn't McDonald's meat, after all, that chicken is always fried and that's why it's so dark," "He was disappointed in us," and similar things. The reaction was completely disproportionate to our demands. As we were cutting up a piece of meat and taking a photo, the elderly lady tried to take our plates away from us in the middle of our meal and was already picking up one of them. At the same time, she loudly accused us in front of all the other guests of only doing this to avoid having to pay. This was very unpleasant, as the noise drew everyone's attention to us. The food itself was good, but the way we were treated was extremely disrespectful, condescending, and at times intimidating. This made us feel embarrassed and completely unwelcome – and it overshadowed the entire visit. What happened there is unbelievable!

Wonderful restaurant! The food was so delicious – absolutely top-notch! What was especially nice was that the chef even gave our two-and-a-half-year-old son the mashed potatoes on the house because he thought the regular portion was too much for him. That shows true hospitality and heart. We felt completely at home. Five out of five stars – and the food gets a ten out of ten from us! We'll definitely be back!

I'm usually very picky and skeptical about food at a new place. But I wanted to try it. I had a hard time choosing the menu and decided on Niklas' special. Pulled pork with fries and cheese. I was very excited to see what I would get. When the food was presented to me, I was perplexed; I'd never experienced anything like it before. I'm not really a fan of BBQ sauce, but I still had to try it. I took the first bite, and I have to say, it was a real explosion of flavor. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Unfortunately, we're from Cologne; if something like this were nearby, we'd probably visit a place like this more often. Keep up the good work! Visiting your place was an all-around delight!!!

I would love to give 10 stars for the food and service! The food tastes simply fantastic, is super fresh, and beautifully presented. There's a diverse selection of well-thought-out dishes, including vegetarian options. The service is very friendly and accommodating. I'd be happy to come back. I especially recommend the Thuringian-style mashed potatoes.

The food was great, plentiful, and fresh. The staff were super friendly and quick despite the crowd. Luckily, since it was raining, they gave us a table for two in front of the counter. (Since we had a reservation.) You should make a reservation in advance, but it's totally worth it! I'm a glutton and the Niklas special left me stuffed! (I hadn't eaten anything all day xD) My companion eats a smaller portion and was completely stuffed after the small pulled pork sandwich :) We'd love to come back! 💞

If you want good food, EAT is the right place for you. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. It tastes amazing and is presented really well. It's excellent value for money. However, I would recommend making a reservation because it's very small and seating is limited.

The food was excellent. The price/performance ratio was simply fantastic. We were practically the first guests of the day (but we still had a reservation!) as we were traveling with a baby and a toddler. There's no parking space for a stroller in the restaurant, but we were offered one in the entrance. Since our baby was still asleep, we sat outside and parked the stroller within sight (the footpath is very narrow). It wasn't a problem for us, and they even had ONE highchair. Understandably, the place doesn't have much space for more.

The food was fantastically delicious and fairly priced. I'd happily go back again and again.

Today was our first time at EAT. Advance reservations are essential. The staff is very friendly, and the dishes are freshly prepared. I had the "Nicklas Special," which is highly recommended and the portion size is almost enough for two people. A definite recommendation, as the quality and prices are definitely on point. The only drawback: relatively long wait times.

Hello everyone, It's about time to update the reviews. Here's a small, "cute" place. The service is friendly, attentive, and has a "family style." The food was incredibly delicious and perfectly adequate for me. The ambiance was nicely decorated, but due to the size, I would recommend a reservation by 5:00 PM at the latest... especially on weekends. Very delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Superb, authentic (and dog-friendly) service, and the food is amazing. If you're just feeling normally hungry, you won't be able to finish the portions. We opted for mashed potatoes, which was a very pleasant surprise. Last but not least, the lovely decor deserves a special mention. A truly fantastic little alternative restaurant, right in the heart of the old town. The prices are reasonable, the portions are huge, and the food tastes really good. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

The EAT in Erfurt had been on my list for a long time, and I was not disappointed. They focus on the essentials, and I opted for a pastrami Reuben sandwich. Very tasty and the size was sufficient (small portion). I was a little surprised by the spiciness of the sauce, as I wasn't expecting it and it wasn't clear from the menu. As a side, there was a small cucumber/coleslaw, which was very fresh. The small slate plates look nice, but it's not easy to eat off them, as something usually falls on the table, but that's just nitpicking. The ambiance is also rather simple and perfectly fine for a snack bar, although they do have air conditioning, which is a great added value. Unfortunately, there is only a very small outdoor area, and they made the best of the situation. Service was nice, friendly, and courteous.

It took us a few tries (just check the opening hours 🙈😅), but it far exceeded all expectations 😍 the staff is at least as friendly as the food is delicious 😊 we discovered new flavors and left feeling completely stuffed. A very warm and friendly atmosphere, and the music was fitting 😊 the bill at the end was really reasonable, so it's also suitable for those on a tighter budget.

Everything was great. Friendly, authentic staff, world-class fries, and a very good pulled pork sandwich. I'm generally not a fan of the sous vide texture, but I really enjoyed the sandwich. The BBQ sauce was perfect, and overall, there were some surprising flavors. A small cucumber/coleslaw with pomegranate seeds... The price, for me, a southern German, was unbeatable. €17 for a sandwich, fries, and beer.

Great spin on the reuben. Not at all what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. Highlights: The meat was perfect, fresh ingredients, excellent sauce and the sauerkraut was fantastic!!! It was all assembled like art.

A sweet top restaurant run by a family who puts their heart and soul into the food. Regardless of whether it's a sandwich, taco or ribs, you'll be full for an absolutely fair price and it also tastes extremely good. I ordered takeout 20 minutes in advance. "No problem." When I arrive on time, I'm told it's five more minutes. When I dare to politely ask after another ten minutes, I'm suddenly and aggressively yelled at, saying they're not McDonald's, and asked if I'm imagining that I'm being given priority as a caller. After another ten minutes, I finally get my food.

We arrived just before the kitchen closed and were still able to order. The fries are outstanding! The pastrami sandwich was also great. So was the mashed potatoes with spinach. Huge portions and all the ingredients are very fresh! The staff was very friendly and approachable. In short: highly recommended and we'll be back!

The place can probably fit 20 people maximum, and we still waited about an hour for our food. In addition to regular tables with regular chairs, there are also hipster "tables" consisting of three crates of Coke and hipster "chairs" consisting of two crates of Coke (horrible). The "plates" are slate slabs that drip with sauce. It looks chic, but is extremely impractical. The chef who plates the food doesn't wear gloves and wipes his hands on his T-shirt after every step... The food wasn't particularly tasty either. It looks chic from the outside, but overall it's pretty disappointing... Update: After my review, I received a very professional message on Instagram (see screenshot), but was apparently immediately blocked, so I'd like to comment here on the criticisms raised. 1) Two other women entered the restaurant before us and were told that two "tables" were still free and they could choose one. Since we were DIRECTLY behind them, we heard it and sat down at the other FREE table. So, strictly speaking, we didn't ask again whether the table was free for US and not just for others. Sorry. 2) I hope this wasn't generally misunderstood, but our annoyance was obviously not that we, as the last guests to arrive, were the last to get our food, but rather that the long wait times weren't communicated. Everyone is free to form their own opinion about everything else :)

I celebrated my birthday there in a small way and we got a nice table for four people with a prior reservation. Everything was great! It tasted great and the price is really awesome for these huge portions! I will come back 🥰 We can recommend: the Shiitake Togu Sandwich, the Goat Cheese Sandwich, the Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Homemade Fries and Sweet Potato Fries!

The food was really delicious. The atmosphere was also nice and clean. Only deducted one star because unfortunately we sat on these uncomfortable beer crates. You should reserve in advance. And a star deduction for the service because we waited a really long time for the food. But you can also understand it when everything is freshly prepared and everything is full. But overall it was still worth 5 stars. There's a lot worse than sitting on beer crates and waiting for delicious food :D

Even if it looks inconspicuous from the outside, you can expect exceptionally delicious food and a very friendly team inside. The portions are large enough and the Trinity can only be done by two people. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices either. Keep it up!!!
