Dubrovnik Restaurant in Saarbrücken

Today, on a Tuesday, I spontaneously visited this Croatian restaurant and as an individual I immediately got a seat. The restaurant is cozy and rustically furnished. First there was some bread with homemade ajwar. MEGA delicious. The food we ordered also came quickly and was delicious - only the Ćevapčići were a bit unusual... the service is very attentive and friendly. Gladly again!

Super tasty, great value for money. Fresh products, friendly and accommodating staff. Any time. A small point of criticism is finding a parking space. It's best to go to the Galeria car park without having to search for a long time. However, not that cheap. If you want to spend a nice evening, you're happy to accept that. We definitely do.

I had dinner there yesterday with work colleagues. Since I have various dietary supplement intolerances, I usually have to change something about the dishes on offer. This was very kindly received and implemented here. I tolerated the food very well. The desired Gsrfrad was also met very well. Butter tender beef fillet. Very friendly service.

My wife and I regularly visit Local Dubrovnik and all I can say is that it is an outstanding restaurant. As soon as you entered the restaurant you were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, which immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The service is consistently excellent. The waiters are attentive but not intrusive and always have a smile on their faces. The food itself is a real treat! The dishes were not only delicious in terms of taste, but also visually appealing and the side dishes were fresh. You can tell that the cooking here is done with love and passion. In summary, I can say that Local is an absolute must for anyone who appreciates not only good food but also first-class service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

The food was delicious, the decor was very comfortable, the staff was very nice, but a little too few. Unfortunately only a vegetarian main course. One more service person and things would go a little faster, certainly. But that's complaining at a high level. I would love to come back.

The service wasn't good, we were told at 8:40 p.m. that the kitchen was closed. Comments on intolerances and allergies were not taken into account. When asked about the ingredients of the dishes, no exact information could be given, instead they were told the same things over and over again. When we asked if we could have 4 fried eggs instead of fries, we were told to pay €6 per egg! Small, carelessly prepared portions, a lot of frozen or ready-made food. The cevapcici I ordered arrived dry. A big disappointment in my opinion. If good service and mediocre food aren't enough for you, you might recommend this shop...

The decoration is super nice, unfortunately the food is not as good as you might think, it is homemade but German cuisine which is not as good as French.

We had reserved a table and when we arrived there 2 people were unable to come and had to cancel as a result the boss did not accept us because two people were missing from our table thank you very much for your aggressive welcome and disrespectful perhaps because we were French and... I say that I say nothing... Thanks again

I can absolutely recommend this restaurant! I was there for the first time this evening (two days before Christmas, on a Sunday) and was completely satisfied. The food was excellent. I ordered a classic grill plate and a large, very full plate arrived that was really tasty and prepared to perfection. The meat was so tender and appropriately salted. The restaurant was quite full this evening and unfortunately there was a lack of staff, but all in all, the service was still very good. The staff was really nice and responded very openly and nicely to questions and explained what options were possible (we wanted to replace one type of meat with another on a grilled plate). The ambience was also wonderful! Even though it was so crowded, the volume was very pleasant. There was Christmas music playing softly in the background and there were also Christmas decorations. The prices are absolutely right for what you get! For dessert I had the apple strudel, which tasted wonderful. For me, a great restaurant that I will definitely eat at again!

The restaurant offers a nice domestic atmosphere with Croatian music. The staff is very friendly and they mostly speak Croatian. The food is satisfactory, only the "ajvar" was too spicy and different from the ajvar we are used to in the Balkans.

Extraordinary place with nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lastly every dish we tasted was tasteful. Great restaurant to eat.

Was beautifully furnished with sandstone arches, long-established family for over 50 years. Food was good but there were dishes on the menu that had nothing to do with Croatia. Modernizing something wouldn't hurt anything. Staff was fine.

très bon restaurant de spécialités croates, l’accueil est chaleureux, le service est impeccable. On a testé en entrée les champignons farcis et la soupe à l’oignon et en plat le pot pourrit : parfaite cuisson des viandes, copieux, tout est bon. Et en plus les prix sont corrects.

Sensational. Take your time to taste dishes prepared with exclusive seasonings, served on plates with a decorated bottom, in the Croatian tradition, and kept warm until the main service.

Finally had Croatian food again. That only rarely happens anymore. We had a grill plate for 2 people, which tasted good.

I discovered Balkan cuisine and I must say that it was really excellent. The place is warm and the service friendly. I sincerely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to discover Balkan cuisine or rediscover vacation memories.

If you like well-made meat products, this is the place for you. The typical cuisine is beautifully implemented. There was also the matching red (house) wine. The service was top notch, even though the restaurant was completely booked. Reservations probably make perfect sense here. Prices absolutely match quantity and quality. Parking is not a problem here either, right opposite at my-park or at Q-park. (However, parking is outrageously expensive) €8.50 for eating out. Thanks to the team...it was a great evening.

Originally we wanted to go to an Italian restaurant... but after a short tour we came across your restaurant... the idea was spot on... very tasty food... we will definitely come back...

If you like perfectly grilled meat and Croatian specialties, Restaurant Dubrovnik is the right place for you. We only came across it purely by chance, but I would stop by there again and again when I'm traveling in Saarbrücken. The service is very courteous and attentive. Even before the salad comes fresh white bread with what appears to be a homemade, pleasantly spicy sauce. The main courses are nicely presented and the portions are decent. The meat is buttery tender and cooked to perfection. My conclusion: great food and great value for money. Always my pleasure. 👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌

Very good value for money. Restaurant like few do these days. The meal was very plentiful but in addition to being extremely plentiful, we were served a starter that we did not ask for (included in the price of the dish ordered obviously) We had an ice tea, the ice tea was certainly homemade. The service is excellent too! Nothing to say. I 100% recommend the restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Food was very tasty. Had a stew with rice & lots of vegetables. Price was also fine. Service somewhat variable. On the one hand these men were very friendly, but on the other hand they were sighing & groaning ostentatiously.

We came here spontaneously. That was a very good choice. The food is different from what we know and VERY tasty. We had two house specialties and both were really special, particularly delicious. Stubica and Muckalica. The owner and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!!

Very good meal in an unusual setting! The staff is very friendly and attentive when it comes to the food being of very good quality. The only downside is the price which remains a little expensive but nothing excessive either. If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to go for this restaurant, which is definitely worth the detour.

Nice rustic ambience. Has airconditioning. Service is good, fast and friendly. Food looks good at first sight and bite, after a while it starts to feel too greasy.

Typical Yugoslavian, as we know him from the eighties. Classic menu with potpourri plate. Don't expect miracles when it comes to food, but averagely good. Gladly again.

Very cozy facility. Perfectly tapped pilsner. Friendly host and food (classic grill plate) also exactly what I wanted. Great grilled taste! Prices almost too low. So everything was fine. Am very happy with my visit.

Dubrovnik has good food and very friendly staff. We've been going there for decades and it's always something special.

Wir sind hier öfter im Freundeskreis. Gestern hatte ich erstmals eine Gulaschsuppe be-stellt. Farbe normalerweise rot, hier gelb/beige. Anstatt Fleischstücke waren hier kleine Hackfleischstücke drin. Diese Suppe darf sich nicht Gulaschsuppe nennen. Und wenn doch, war es die Schlechteste die ich je gegessen habe. Nach meiner Rekla-mation kam nur ein Achselzucken, keine Entschuldigung, kein Ersatzangebot. Schade.

Went there for dinner with several people last weekend. I had the Sarajevo grill plate with a colleague. Well for 60€ it was very meager to be honest, you imagine something else. Just two small lamb chops, which is very lean. The wines are great as always and the service is great too. But given the food prices, you should think about that. Tip!

Even without a reservation, we were able to sit down without waiting. The service was very good, although we had to wait at times: the restaurant was busy and perhaps another person in the service would be helpful given the number of guests. Nevertheless, the two of them managed the situation excellently. The food was fine, we have never eaten such excellent grilled liver. Great. The restaurant is beautifully designed, it was very pleasant here.

I've known the restaurant since I was a child and now I enjoy eating here with my own family when we go shopping in Saarbrücken. Yesterday we were there again and of course I ordered my favorite dish, Cevapcici. The other dishes such as the Balkan rolls or Pola Pola are also among our favorite dishes. A small starter salad is served with it, which is always very tasty. The service is always very friendly and accommodating; we were always able to get a seat at lunchtime without a reservation, even though the restaurant is always busy. The price/performance ratio has always been okay for us over the years. The portions are more than sufficient and we always feel full. Oh well, the red sauce/chutney that is always served with the meal is really amazing, it is so good that we always have to reorder it. Goes well with the grilled meat and the Cevapcici 1 A. We thank you for your hospitality, for us there are simply the best Balkan dishes here... Until next time...

A great location with medium prices and super tasty food. A lot of love was put into the decoration. We felt very comfortable and were more than full. What I found particularly delicious is the peppy home-made Aijva! I have never enjoyed a pepper sauce as delicious as what was served here! And the beer prices are not exorbitant. Unfortunately there was no Guddie like a Slivovitz. That would have made it perfect. The prices are a little higher, but the amount of food on the plate is sufficient to a lot. And the salad was fresh and good! 😋😋😋

Super endroit, les restaurant est ouvert depuis 1969. Pas mal de plat typique et un personnel super accueillant et aux petits soins. Nous avons passé un agréable moment.

Ce restaurant de spécialités balkanes, repris par deux frères bulgares il y a 6 ans, existe depuis 1968... Je l’ai retrouvé, un peu par hasard, à mon grand étonnement et avec des souvenirs lointains. L’entrée a été déplacée mais le décor, que certains peuvent trouver kitsch, n’a pas changé et ne détonne pas. L’accueil et les plats typiques sont toujours au rendez-vous. J’ai apprécié le plat “pot-pourri” avec trois spécialités, après un velouté de tomates qui m’a mis en appétit. Une bonne bière Weizen pour couronner le tout et, in fine, un rapport qualité-prix très correct. N.B. On peut considérer la Croatie dans les Balkans, comme l’indique l’enseigne de ce restaurant.

Food good, but no customization possible due to pre-made skewers. Someone could come for drinks more often. We had to wait quite a long time. Ambience is quite dark. Large portion for reasonable price.

A bit inconspicuous from the outside, hidden in a small side street that looks more like a courtyard entrance, but highly recommended.

Nice authentic restaurant with top service and very tasty food. The menu is in German and French, which I find very nice, important and right given the proximity and history of Saarland. Meat lovers will definitely get their money's worth here. Vegetarian/vegan... a bit difficult. And the house aperitif is also good. At the end there is usually a digestive sip.

Where are we going on a Monday evening (March 25th, 2024) in Saarbrücken? That's not so easy, because Saarbrücken offers a wide variety of good restaurants. This is what our previous visits to the Saarland state capital showed us. A compliment that I don't give to every German city! This time we wanted something new for us in Saarbrücken and so we decided on the restaurant “Dubrovnik” in the city center. The restaurant was quite busy around 7:30 p.m., but there was still room at a nice table for us - even without a prior reservation. The service was attentive and the food was ordered quickly: once the rump steak with pepper sauce for €26 and once a classic in Balkan restaurants: the "Funny Bosniak", which you can currently get in Dubrovnik for €23. The food didn't take too long to arrive, was freshly prepared and was to our complete satisfaction. Both main courses came with a side salad, which you can't see in the attached pictures. Unfortunately, the obligatory Julischka on the house, which is often the case in Balkan restaurants, was not available after paying the bill, but we still left the restaurant satisfied and well-fed.

The Dubrovnik Restaurant has been around for what feels like forever; I think I was there as a child. It is said that the quality has decreased in the meantime. I can't say anything about that. I can say today that it is definitely great. The food is really great. And everything to the point. In addition, you definitely come out full. Really really solid. Exactly as you would expect with this name. The service. This has to be mentioned separately because in times of lack of attention and friendliness it simply stands out in a positive way. Very hard-working, very attentive and incredibly polite in tone. You rarely find something like that anymore. We really enjoy going there. I had just returned from a long stay in Asia and was in the mood for a meaty meal with sauce, side dish, salad and a beer. We only thought for 5 seconds and then reserved a table. Everything done right. My recommendation: Dubrovnik

Wonderful dinner in a beautiful atmosphere

I had dinner with my husband and enjoyed everything. The food was delicious, the service was good. My husband ordered Caucasian style shish kebab, it was delicious, but there was one minus: the meat should be cooked on coals, not on electric grills.

The Dubrovnik is a very cozy restaurant. Even when it's very busy, the service is very attentive, quick and cheerful. The menu is diverse. We were there for the second time today and were thrilled again. No matter whether it's a starter, main course or dessert: DELICIOUS! Special requests are also taken into account. It's no wonder that you're well advised to reserve a table on weekends. We were definitely not there for the last time! Update: 02/01/24 We had dinner there yesterday for my husband's 60th birthday. When reserving a table I was asked whether the table should be decorated a bit. The result was much more than I thought: garland, scattered decorations on the table, etc. Really super beautiful! The food was - as always - top. The service - as always - was super nice. And - as always - it wasn't the last time we were there.

A great pearl in Saarbrücken! You first have to find the restaurant, but then it really is a culinary and visual highlight in Saarland!

Nice ambience, matching the name of the restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive. In addition, the food was really great. There were 6 of us and we had 6 different dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and tasty, the meat was well fried, whether it was beef, pork, lamb, chicken or whether in one piece or on a skewer. We're not from nearby, but if we happen to be in Saarbrücken again, we'd also like to go to Dubrovnik :-)
