Great shop, and the staff are very friendly and always up for a laugh. The food is truly amazing. I recommend the zucchini meatballs with tzatziki. We'll be happy to come back.

We've been to Neon twice now, and both visits were impressive. The platter of various dishes was particularly delicious, with plenty of variety and plenty of it. The baked gyro was also very tasty. Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

I ordered food and, after waiting for an hour, only received my starter. I didn't get my main course at all. On a Thursday with few customers and despite the busy staff, this was absolutely disappointing. Especially with my child, it was a real imposition to wait so long and end up having to leave hungry and dissatisfied.

The selection of mixed platters is limited. Unfortunately, special requests (extra calamari) aren't possible. We had to order an additional whole children's portion. This turned out to be an advantage, as the portions are rather small. Our usual tzatziki also had to be ordered separately and was very expensive at €5.90 for a small bowl. The quality of the meat was good. Service was good. The restaurant itself was clean. The ambiance was very modern. Free ouzo was included with the bill.

For all Dutch people, the dish for 2 people is great, delicious food in a great atmosphere with friendly service.

An outstanding experience at Neon! We were there with our family for lunch today and immediately felt at home. A warm atmosphere and genuinely child-friendly. The food was delicious and fresh, the ambiance stylish and inviting – but the absolute highlight was our waiter, Kostas. With his warm manner, exceptional attentiveness, and perfect sense for guests, he made our visit truly special. Service of this level is unfortunately rare. Thank you so much, we'll definitely be back!

Never had such bad Greek food. One star for the ambiance and location. We had to wait a long time to order, even though the waiter walked past us several times. Then we got warm wheat beer, which is unacceptable. There was a piece of aluminum foil in my salad, and the sauce was watery; I think it had been sitting for some time. The fries weren't cooked properly, and the rice was bland and flavorless. The thick pieces of gyros have nothing to do with gyros. The bifteki has never seen a pan; it's bland, and the cheese filling gave me Montezuma's revenge in retrospect. Hunger forced it in. An ouzo as apology didn't make it any better. No thanks, once and never again. I can't understand the reviews at all. It has nothing to do with Greek food, more like expensive convenience food.

We ate 3 types of stakes & a grilled fish. All was tasty & well prepared & served. The waiter made us feel like we are visiting him personally at his home. The portions of salad and potatoes are on a smaller side - but it gives off a gourmet vibe. Overall pleasant experience.

Conditionally recommended, but the service and waiter turned things around for the better. I ordered a baked gyro with cheese, fries, and a side salad. The fries didn't look fresh, were unsalted, and were cold. After a short while, I found soggy fries in the baked gyro. I couldn't finish it because I didn't want to imagine where the fries came from. The server then asked if I liked it. No, it didn't, especially since the fries in the gyro looked like I'd ordered before. The server immediately apologized and disappeared into the kitchen. A short while later, she came back to the table and said she had spoken to the chef about the fries getting into the gyro during preparation. I'll leave that uncommented. The result was that I didn't have to pay for the dish, and I got two espressos on the house. When someone reacts like that to a complaint, you can be satisfied as a guest. We'll definitely pay the restaurant another visit as "reparation." We'll see.

The food was nothing. I ordered the pork medallions with pepper sauce and chanterelles. There were four mushrooms on the plate, and the sauce tasted like water. There wasn't even a single peppercorn in the sauce. We won't be going back.

This was our first time at the Neon restaurant at Centro in Oberhausen and we were absolutely thrilled! Upon entering, we received a friendly welcome and were immediately escorted to a table. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, making you feel at home immediately. We chose two main courses: a classic gyro dish and the Helena plate. Both dishes were excellently prepared – the meat was tender, perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and very juicy. The side dishes, such as fries, rice, and tzatziki, were also fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, so you'll definitely be full. If you're extremely hungry, you might want to order an appetizer. The prices are absolutely fair for the location and quality. Not overpriced tourist food, but honest, delicious cuisine with a solid price-performance ratio. We particularly appreciated the attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Everyone was friendly, cheerful, and quick to help when we needed anything. It was also surprising that the restaurant was very busy, even on a Tuesday evening—a sign of its popularity. The atmosphere was nevertheless relaxed and pleasant. Neon offers several seating areas: a cozy outdoor area for warm days, a stylishly furnished winter garden with a beautiful view of the promenade, and a modern interior with pleasant lighting and a well-thought-out, well-lit design. Summary: Delicious food, fair prices, friendly service—we'll definitely be back and recommend Neon to anyone looking for good Greek cuisine in Oberhausen.

The food was very good, as always. But the service (male) seemed to be having a bad day today. It was quite curt and felt a bit unfriendly. There's apparently no ouzo to finish the meal either.

With the exception of the gyros (it never came off a skewer and was supposed to be crispy), some of it was delicious. However, as a Greek, you should be able to eat gyros or not. It may have been a few months ago, but a review is still advisable.

Not much of a Greek experience in a Greek restaurant... Very friendly service, but not authentic food. Convenience-style steakhouse fries instead of homemade, small portion of meat, no Greek salad, and tzatziki for €5.60? Never :)

Be careful, they delete bad reviews on Google. I ordered food there with four other people. After an hour I asked about my order...it's coming, I was told...I asked again after 30 minutes...it's coming...nothing...so after almost two hours without food I said we were leaving...I still had to pay for the drinks and then we left hungry!!! So you can have it deleted again!!!

Excellent restaurant. We had a lovely spot by the water. The service was fast and good. The food was top-notch. The portions were generous. I highly recommend this restaurant as a perfect ending to a day at Centro Oberhausen.

The food tasted wonderful and the service was good. However, I'm not happy with the bill. There's no receipt and I was stupid not to ask for one. In retrospect, I wonder why we paid over €100 for three dishes costing less than €20, a starter costing €7.40, and six 0.3l Cokes. Please ask for a receipt and check that everything is correct! I'm really angry about this, and angry with myself for not doing it. That will be another reason for me not to eat there again.

Nice Greek restaurant on the promenade. Extensive menu. It is a modern Greek restaurant, good interior, clean. Service is very fast. If you order something, you have a salad on your table in no time. I ordered moussaka myself and it was on the table within 10 minutes, it was super hot, so how they do it, is a mystery to me. Food was tasty. Personally, I don't need it that fast, you are a restaurant, not fast food.

The food is generally delicious. But the value for money isn't really good :-( Lots of fries on a small plate (no large plates available?? Or is it supposed to look like more?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't know.. ). The rest served in a bowl/pan. Pretty, but quite limited in quantity. A small schnitzel with 3 (!) asparagus spears on top. All for just under 20 euros. Oh well... Fun fact: this was actually the first Greek restaurant where I wasn't offered an uzo. Not that it's essential 😀 . But it is unusual...

When we arrived, we: - waited 20 minutes to order drinks - another 20 minutes until we could order food - a good 40 minutes until it finally arrived - another 10 minutes because two dishes were forgotten (including a children's dish, which is especially great) So, a good 1.5 hours from arrival to the food being served. The interior was deserted. One children's dish was completely wrong, a side dish was missing, and special requests were ignored without exception. The staff weren't particularly friendly, reserved, and abrupt. Many dishes, such as souvlaki, were missing a sauce... it was all pretty bland. And there was only a sparse amount of mayo/ketchup in those fast-food plastic bags... and that doesn't do souvlaki justice in terms of taste. The taste is okay, nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. If they were interested in customer loyalty, they would definitely make more of an effort. But it's just the promenade. It thrives on one-time visits. 2 stars for the quite fair prices and the pleasant ambiance and cleanliness.

Unfortunately, this may be our last visit. We've been here several times, but the friendliness of the service staff has deteriorated considerably. One gentleman spends the entire time at the table with his boys, while the other is very rude and arrogant. We hadn't experienced this before at the restaurant and were unpleasantly surprised. The food was, as always, really delicious and arrived quickly. That's also the reason for the number of stars, as the people working behind the scenes can't be blamed for it.

Would give 0 stars if possible..I waited there for 1 hour 15 (after ordering) for our food, asked 3 times. "Coming," I was told..other guests came, ate, and left..only our food didn't come!!!...I then paid for the drinks, expressed my displeasure and left..I'm really patient, but never again!!!

Unfortunately the leg of lamb I ordered was inedible. Very muttony in taste. My partner's main course was also just ok, not particularly tasty.

We ate at Neon on the promenade in Oberhausen and were absolutely thrilled! The food was super tasty, freshly prepared and simply great in terms of taste – every bite was a pleasure. We would like to give a very special compliment to Nadja, our waitress. She was incredibly friendly, attentive and warm - you can immediately tell that she is passionate about her job. Nadja really rounded off the evening perfectly with her great service. This makes you feel completely comfortable as a guest! The atmosphere in the restaurant is also modern, cozy and inviting. We would definitely like to come back and can only recommend Neon!

However, I don't think the price-performance ratio is optimal compared to other Greek restaurants I visited, as the portions were slightly smaller and the prices were higher. I would still recommend the restaurant.

Portions extremely small for the price, I would be careful when ordering still water. In my opinion it tasted more like tap water and didn't come to my table freshly sealed.

Eat something delicious before going to the cinema. So we went to Neon and let ourselves be pampered the Greek way. The modern ambience invites you to linger. Our food was very tasty. I particularly liked the Metaxa sauce. The tzatziki tasted excellent, but there could have been a bit more cucumber in it. The service was great, relaxed and courteous and humorous. And you can always find a space for your car in the numerous free parking garages. We would love to come back here 😀

The restaurant is very beautiful, the decoration is just wonderful. If the weather is good you can also sit outside (the service there is also very attentive). The prices for a meal with a drink are between €20 and €30. The food is very tasty. I ordered “fresh ox cheeks” and found them even better than the gyros, although they also tasted very good :)

There were five of us in the NEON restaurant and we had mixed impressions. First the positive: The taste of the food was really excellent. For the other people at the table, the meat was very well prepared, the fries were nice and crispy, and we also really liked the ambience - stylishly furnished, not overcrowded and pleasantly quiet. At the end we were even politely offered an ouzo, which we politely declined. Unfortunately, there were also clear weaknesses. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our food - only when we asked did it come quite quickly. However, my wife's dish was particularly disappointing: the beef skewers were raw on the first try, which she doesn't like at all. After we politely asked the waiter to fry the meat, a new plate arrived shortly after - but unfortunately it was raw again. We found that really annoying and incomprehensible. Overall, an evening with light and shadow - great in terms of taste, but with a clear need for improvement in the service and care in the kitchen.

There's not much to say about the really good location, in a row with some competition. But the food was really tasty, from the starter to the gyros. The latter in particular was of good quality and to the point, in no way "pressed cardboard". Service was attentive, although there wasn't much going on for us. All in all, definitely worth recommending!

We were here again yesterday after a long time, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. First of all, we didn't receive our starter, but we got the gyro plate before the other guests who ordered before us. Unfortunately wrong, cold, the fries weren't cooked through and the meat was already black. We haven't eaten so badly in ages. We will definitely not be coming back and unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant. The service was very nice, but paying around €50 for the food was simply a waste of money. Furthermore, the women's toilets were incredibly dirty and that was very sad for a rather expensive restaurant.

We went there for dinner in the middle of the week at the beginning of March 2025. The ambience appealed to us and we ordered a grill plate for 2 people. The portions were rather manageable but! the food was without !!! Warming plate or something similar served... When paying, I mentioned this obvious defect and it was probably not even acknowledged without comment. The temperatures outside were still quite cool and all the doors were open and the large ceiling lamps moved to the beat of the music and the draft... for us: not recommended... because the meat was not only cold but also very dry... No thanks

A large guest room, therefore very loud. We got a table without a reservation on Saturday lunchtime (2 p.m.). The service was nice but stressed. Yes, it was busy and certainly a lot to do, but a smile would certainly have been nice. Unfortunately our order was forgotten, so after 45 minutes we still had no food. Shortly before 3 p.m. we were given the “excuse” that the other guests had to wait too. No, sorry, because if the table next to us gets their food before us even though they only ordered about 20 minutes (!) after us, then something is wrong. Of course, it can happen that an order gets lost due to stress, but if the lady had simply apologized (she probably couldn't even do anything about it) and perhaps given us the two soft drinks - everything would have been ok! But to say that "others had to wait too" - no, then she shouldn't have said anything at all... Regarding the food, I would like to say that the gyros were delicious - but unfortunately the pork steak, fries and rice were only lukewarm. The Greeks can do that better here in town! I think we were just unlucky. Too bad!

Food was comparable to canteen. Fries were soft and not seasoned. Teller looked like he had been carelessly slapped down. The positive thing was the cold cola, nothing more. You expect more for a restaurant.

We were there on March 2nd, 2025 with a stroller and wheelchair. The reception was so cold that you wanted to leave. This also ran through the entire catering. I have never experienced anything so unfriendly. We pointed this out when paying. Absolute disinterest. When we left the restaurant we were so ignored that we couldn't expect any help to open the door. Note: There were two employees standing motionless in the entrance area when we left. The grill plate was very good. It is better to add the sauce separately. Update I had the sheep's cheese out of the oven today. It was delicious. For my taste, a little more pepperoni and red onions instead of white and the starter would have been very good The side salad consisted of a lot of leaf lettuce, a little coleslaw, a few grated carrots and a yogurt dressing. These products were all prefabricated industrial products. Apart from the coleslaw, I was missing Greek components such as pepperoni, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes with a vinegar and oil dressing. The fries were steakhouse fries, the rice was ok. The bifteki baked with cheese has a very natural meat taste. I couldn't taste spices like pepper, salt, garlic. The feta cheese was very thin and you couldn't taste it.

I was here with a party of 15 people on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately there are no vegetarian or vegan main courses on the menu. Upon request, I received a mixed vegetarian starter plate as the main course. It was ok, but nothing special. Unfortunately the service was bad. Drink orders were forgotten several times. When serving/ordering there was often shouting across the table. The plates were dirty/greasy from below and so was the table after they were cleared. The dining room is very loud when it is full. I wouldn't eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to others.

I don't think it's recommended. Had gyros gratinated twice with fries. It wasn't good. The gyro bowl was lukewarm and the fries were still soggy inside.

I can't understand the 4.5 stars. Unfortunately the food was nothing. It was too salty and fatty. The side salad was very unappetizing just by looking at it. The decor was nice. Because the door kept opening and closing, there was a constant gust of cold wind. It was way too loud, train station atmosphere. The service was good, quick and friendly. No overall recommendation from me.

After "World of Hans Zimmer" we quickly got a place here for 4 people at 7 p.m. (Saturday!). Nice service, good food at reasonable prices; We would be happy to recommend it.

I've never been to such a bad restaurant. We waited an hour for the food and every ten minutes an employee came claiming that the food was almost here. In the end we had to pay 10 euros for two drinks - an absolute disgrace. Additionally, the service was disorganized and unfriendly, and the staff didn't seem to take the situation seriously at all. I have never experienced anything so disrespectful and unprofessional!

We were very satisfied. The food came quickly, there was a large selection and everyone enjoyed it very much. In addition, the service was always friendly. I was happy to give a good tip.

The atmosphere is really nice, but unfortunately the tables are so close together that the aisles are very narrow, and when the staff wanted to pass by with a fully loaded tablet, it became very restless. The taste of the food was okay, but not much for the price. So far it's been okay overall. What we didn't like at all was the unfriendly service (if you don't like the job, please look for another one). In addition, we were overcharged for a drink and the amount was not corrected despite our follow-up - the waitress actually seemed annoyed by our request. We think that's not how you should treat people and we'll definitely never go there again!

Unfortunately I have to give one star, Neon deserves 0 stars. Anyone who is familiar and warm Hospitality that you would otherwise expect from Greek restaurants is out of place here! It seems as if they prefer to rely on walk-in customers rather than attracting regulars. It seemed like mass processing on an assembly line. Of the 5 food orders just at my table, 3 were incorrect. I didn't like the food at all tasted. After dinner I was asked if everything was okay, I said no and described it in a friendly manner. the starter, saganaki, was only lukewarm. The bifteki, the cheese on the inside as well and the gyros not at all crispy and gristly. The waiter then cleared it away without comment. That's it. Finally, he spilled the sauce on my jacket. Sorry, no answer. Have it cleaned and bring over the bill was his comment. Definitely not a recommendation from me - by far the worst Greek I know.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the straw skewer, which was incredibly hard, we chewed it endlessly, we also tried a burger and it was hard, somewhat tasty, aromatic, but it wasn't fluffy, unfortunately. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very nice. Can't say otherwise. The food was very tasteless. And unfortunately it was also cold, there was a lack of spices and somehow it wasn't what you expected. And what I found very disturbing were rosemary needles in every sauce, which is not to everyone's taste.

Sunday evening, 8 p.m. - the restaurant was almost empty, but service was still slow. The Coca-Cola was not carbonated and people also complained about it at the next table. When the food came, the disappointment was great: the gyros and the side dishes were cold. Hot after a round in the microwave, but still disappointing. The gyros didn't come from the skewer, but from the pan, which can be recognized by the fact that it was fried on both sides. The meat was gristly and fatty - not enjoyable. The side salad? Loveless and boring. To make matters worse, the service was inattentive. Even though there were only four tables occupied, we had to get up to ask for the bill. It's a shame, because from the outside the restaurant makes a neat and inviting impression. Unfortunately the quality and service could not live up to this picture.
