Unfortunately, the food we wanted was no longer available, the waiters were rushed and not exactly friendly. The plates were placed there carelessly. The food was bland and boring.

Good and tasty food. The Grill Teller is more than enough for two people.

Despite the restaurant being very busy, we received an incredibly warm welcome once again. The entire team was attentive, cheerful, and took the time for us even when it was packed. The food was just as delicious as last time, freshly prepared, and simply top-notch. The ambiance is also beautiful and tastefully decorated – you can tell that a lot of love and attention to detail has gone into it. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it. We initially wanted to go to the Spanish restaurant, but decided on the Greek one instead. It was the right decision. Neon is highly recommended.

There were four of us, and we spontaneously decided to visit NEON. We got a table without a reservation. We each ordered an appetizer and a main course from our rather annoyed waiter. The ouzo we ordered was warm. Our appetizers were all okay. For our main courses, we received carelessly presented plates with rather cold fries. The bifteki had an unpleasant-tasting seasoning, which was unfortunately very inappropriate. In general, all the dishes were very bland. What annoyed us most was that when our main courses arrived, we were told to hurry up because the restaurant was about to close. Very unfriendly, impersonal, and rude, the bill was brought shortly after we put down our cutlery. We weren't even allowed to finish our drinks because the staff kicked us out at 10:15 pm (according to Google, they're open until 11 pm)! Sorry, but completely unprofessional behavior! And all this on a Saturday night!

First time there with friends and family. Friendly staff, fast service – I don't think we've ever received our order so quickly! My salad was great, although I felt there was a bit too much dressing. All in all, a worthwhile visit! We'll definitely be back!

We ate there last night and, to be honest, I've never had such bad Greek food anywhere. The gyros and befteki were undercooked and absolutely inedible. The befteki was sent back and returned raw. There were four of us and no one was happy with their meal. We also had a reservation for December, which will of course be cancelled.

The food was quite good, but it was a bit salty and the portion was small. That's what we thought. We did say something about it, but our shoulders were shrugged.

This was our third time here, and we can say that you can go here with a clear conscience: great atmosphere, friendly service, good value for money, especially considering its proximity to Centro, right on the promenade…

We spontaneously decided to come here for the first time today. The food was absolutely fantastic. The meat was juicy and tender. My son had the children's plate with calamari and loved it too. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

We were there in the evening as a couple and had made a reservation. We were greeted and served politely. Unfortunately, several tables were wobbly because they were unevenly positioned, and we had to stabilize ours with beer coasters. The appetizers were delicious, and they came with extra bread; the salad was fresh. After we finished our appetizers, we waited almost an hour for the main course, which only arrived after we asked twice. Unfortunately, nothing was cleared from our table. Empty glasses and salad plates were left behind. The table quickly became very crowded. The steak platter was tasty, but for €20, a handful of fries, gyros, and two small pork steaks seemed rather meager. To top it all off, my Coke glass was completely scratched inside and out. It didn't affect the taste, but when you're charging high prices and aiming for a sophisticated atmosphere, you can expect things like scratched glasses to be avoided, and empty glasses and plates to be cleared between courses.

I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. On my visit today, the glass wasn't filled to the fill line again. The same thing happened two weeks ago, and I complained then. Some of the fries had been re-fried and were therefore burnt. The gyros tasted soggy and was still raw in places, which I showed the waiter. He left the table with the plate, saying he'd pass it on. Two hours later, I got diarrhea, probably from the raw meat. I will not be going back to this restaurant.

All in all, a great person, very very friendly, the atmosphere was very nice, and the food was delicious.

We visited the Neon restaurant for lunch rather spontaneously – and received a very friendly welcome. A table for two was assigned to us by the attentive waiter in the requested area, which promised a pleasant start. The ambiance is harmonious and invites you to linger. The service is particularly noteworthy: friendly, attentive, and quick – without being intrusive. For starters, we chose saganaki and garlic bread with tomato chunks. Salt and pepper are provided at the table so you can season the dishes to your liking – a nice touch. However, we would have appreciated olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the table, especially so that we could refine the starters as desired. The main courses – various grilled platters with gyros, steaks, and souvlaki – were served with fries, rice, and a small salad. The meat was very tender overall, and the gyros were well prepared. Personally, I missed a bit of oregano, but that's a matter of taste, of course. The fries were okay, but rather average—I would have preferred a bit more refinement. Overall, the value for money is good. Anyone who enjoys Greek cuisine will find Neon a solid, friendly place for a relaxed meal—with minor drawbacks in the details. We went there yesterday after a visit to the Gasometer. The food was very tasty, but the fries were barely salted and the food didn't stay hot for long. We sat in the winter garden. They had heaters on, but they were way too hot; I sweated profusely. Given the current temperatures, they should perhaps be adjusted or turned off. We'll definitely eat there again.

We had bifteki. The food arrived less than 2 minutes after ordering...can't have been freshly cooked. The bifteki was dry. The cheese was crumbly. The fries were incredibly pale. Never again. It was always good before.

We've been to Neon twice now, and both visits were impressive. The platter of various dishes was particularly delicious, with plenty of variety and plenty of it. The baked gyro was also very tasty. Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

I ordered food and, after waiting for an hour, only received my starter. I didn't get my main course at all. On a Thursday with few customers and despite the busy staff, this was absolutely disappointing. Especially with my child, it was a real imposition to wait so long and end up having to leave hungry and dissatisfied.

The selection of mixed platters is limited. Unfortunately, special requests (extra calamari) aren't possible. We had to order an additional whole children's portion. This turned out to be an advantage, as the portions are rather small. Our usual tzatziki also had to be ordered separately and was very expensive at €5.90 for a small bowl. The quality of the meat was good. Service was good. The restaurant itself was clean. The ambiance was very modern. Free ouzo was included with the bill.

Never had such bad Greek food. One star for the ambiance and location. We had to wait a long time to order, even though the waiter walked past us several times. Then we got warm wheat beer, which is unacceptable. There was a piece of aluminum foil in my salad, and the sauce was watery; I think it had been sitting for some time. The fries weren't cooked properly, and the rice was bland and flavorless. The thick pieces of gyros have nothing to do with gyros. The bifteki has never seen a pan; it's bland, and the cheese filling gave me Montezuma's revenge in retrospect. Hunger forced it in. An ouzo as apology didn't make it any better. No thanks, once and never again. I can't understand the reviews at all. It has nothing to do with Greek food, more like expensive convenience food.

An outstanding experience at Neon! We were there with our family for lunch today and immediately felt at home. A warm atmosphere and genuinely child-friendly. The food was delicious and fresh, the ambiance stylish and inviting – but the absolute highlight was our waiter, Kostas. With his warm manner, exceptional attentiveness, and perfect sense for guests, he made our visit truly special. Service of this level is unfortunately rare. We ate 3 types of stakes & a grilled fish. All was tasty & well prepared & served. The waiter made us feel like we are visiting him personally at his home. The portions of salad and potatoes are on a smaller side - but it gives off a gourmet vibe. Overall pleasant experience.

Conditionally recommended, but the service and waiter turned things around for the better. I ordered a baked gyro with cheese, fries, and a side salad. The fries didn't look fresh, were unsalted, and were cold. After a short while, I found soggy fries in the baked gyro. I couldn't finish it because I didn't want to imagine where the fries came from. The server then asked if I liked it. No, it didn't, especially since the fries in the gyro looked like I'd ordered before. The server immediately apologized and disappeared into the kitchen. A short while later, she came back to the table and said she had spoken to the chef about the fries getting into the gyro during preparation. I'll leave that uncommented. The result was that I didn't have to pay for the dish, and I got two espressos on the house. When someone reacts like that to a complaint, you can be satisfied as a guest. We'll definitely pay the restaurant another visit as "reparation." We'll see.

The food was nothing. I ordered the pork medallions with pepper sauce and chanterelles. There were four mushrooms on the plate, and the sauce tasted like water. There wasn't even a single peppercorn in the sauce. We won't be going back.

This was our first time at the Neon restaurant at Centro in Oberhausen and we were absolutely thrilled! Upon entering, we received a friendly welcome and were immediately escorted to a table. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, making you feel at home immediately. We chose two main courses: a classic gyro dish and the Helena plate. Both dishes were excellently prepared – the meat was tender, perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and very juicy. The side dishes, such as fries, rice, and tzatziki, were also fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, so you'll definitely be full. If you're extremely hungry, you might want to order an appetizer. The prices are absolutely fair for the location and quality. Not overpriced tourist food, but honest, delicious cuisine with a solid price-performance ratio. We particularly appreciated the attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Everyone was friendly, cheerful, and quick to help when we needed anything. It was also surprising that the restaurant was very busy, even on a Tuesday evening—a sign of its popularity. The atmosphere was nevertheless relaxed and pleasant. Neon offers several seating areas: a cozy outdoor area for warm days, a stylishly furnished winter garden with a beautiful view of the promenade, and a modern interior with pleasant lighting and a well-thought-out, well-lit design. The food was very good, as always. But the service (male) seemed to be having a bad day today. It was quite curt and felt a bit unfriendly. There's apparently no ouzo to finish the meal either.

With the exception of the gyros (it never came off a skewer and was supposed to be crispy), some of it was delicious. However, as a Greek, you should be able to eat gyros or not. It may have been a few months ago, but a review is still advisable.

Be careful, they delete bad reviews on Google. I ordered food there with four other people. After an hour I asked about my order...it's coming, I was told...I asked again after 30 minutes...it's coming...nothing...so after almost two hours without food I said we were leaving...I still had to pay for the drinks and then we left hungry!!! So you can have it deleted again!!!

The food tasted wonderful and the service was good. However, I'm not happy with the bill. There's no receipt and I was stupid not to ask for one. In retrospect, I wonder why we paid over €100 for three dishes costing less than €20, a starter costing €7.40, and six 0.3l Cokes. Please ask for a receipt and check that everything is correct! I'm really angry about this, and angry with myself for not doing it. That will be another reason for me not to eat there again.

Nice Greek restaurant on the promenade. Extensive menu. It is a modern Greek restaurant, good interior, clean. Service is very fast. If you order something, you have a salad on your table in no time. I ordered moussaka myself and it was on the table within 10 minutes, it was super hot, so how they do it, is a mystery to me. Food was tasty. Personally, I don't need it that fast, you are a restaurant, not fast food.

The food is generally delicious. But the value for money isn't really good :-( Lots of fries on a small plate (no large plates available?? Or is it supposed to look like more?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't know.. ). The rest served in a bowl/pan. Pretty, but quite limited in quantity. A small schnitzel with 3 (!) asparagus spears on top. All for just under 20 euros. Oh well... Fun fact: this was actually the first Greek restaurant where I wasn't offered an uzo. Not that it's essential 😀 . But it is unusual...

When we arrived, we: - waited 20 minutes to order drinks - another 20 minutes until we could order food - a good 40 minutes until it finally arrived - another 10 minutes because two dishes were forgotten (including a children's dish, which is especially great) So, a good 1.5 hours from arrival to the food being served. The interior was deserted. One children's dish was completely wrong, a side dish was missing, and special requests were ignored without exception. The staff weren't particularly friendly, reserved, and abrupt. Many dishes, such as souvlaki, were missing a sauce... it was all pretty bland. And there was only a sparse amount of mayo/ketchup in those fast-food plastic bags... and that doesn't do souvlaki justice in terms of taste. The taste is okay, nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. If they were interested in customer loyalty, they would definitely make more of an effort. But it's just the promenade. It thrives on one-time visits. 2 stars for the quite fair prices and the pleasant ambiance and cleanliness.

Unfortunately, this may be our last visit. We've been here several times, but the friendliness of the service staff has deteriorated considerably. One gentleman spends the entire time at the table with his boys, while the other is very rude and arrogant. We hadn't experienced this before at the restaurant and were unpleasantly surprised. The food was, as always, really delicious and arrived quickly. That's also the reason for the number of stars, as the people working behind the scenes can't be blamed for it.

We would like to give a very special compliment to Nadja, our waitress. She was incredibly friendly, attentive and warm - you can immediately tell that she is passionate about her job. Nadja really rounded off the evening perfectly with her great service. This makes you feel completely comfortable as a guest! The atmosphere in the restaurant is also modern, cozy and inviting. We would definitely like to come back and can only recommend Neon!

Eat something delicious before going to the cinema. So we went to Neon and let ourselves be pampered the Greek way. The modern ambience invites you to linger. Our food was very tasty. I particularly liked the Metaxa sauce. The tzatziki tasted excellent, but there could have been a bit more cucumber in it. The service was great, relaxed and courteous and humorous. And you can always find a space for your car in the numerous free parking garages. We would love to come back here 😀

The restaurant is very beautiful, the decoration is just wonderful. If the weather is good you can also sit outside (the service there is also very attentive). The prices for a meal with a drink are between €20 and €30. The food is very tasty. I ordered “fresh ox cheeks” and found them even better than the gyros, although they also tasted very good :)

There were five of us in the NEON restaurant and we had mixed impressions. First the positive: The taste of the food was really excellent. For the other people at the table, the meat was very well prepared, the fries were nice and crispy, and we also really liked the ambience - stylishly furnished, not overcrowded and pleasantly quiet. At the end we were even politely offered an ouzo, which we politely declined. Unfortunately, there were also clear weaknesses. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our food - only when we asked did it come quite quickly. However, my wife's dish was particularly disappointing: the beef skewers were raw on the first try, which she doesn't like at all. After we politely asked the waiter to fry the meat, a new plate arrived shortly after - but unfortunately it was raw again. We found that really annoying and incomprehensible. Overall, an evening with light and shadow - great in terms of taste, but with a clear need for improvement in the service and care in the kitchen.

There's not much to say about the really good location, in a row with some competition. But the food was really tasty, from the starter to the gyros.
