KORALI in Oberhausen

Wir kamen recht spät an und uns wurde mehrmals gesagt, dass die Küche gleich schließt, aber die Angestellten waren freundlich und geduldig. Sie kamen mehrmals vorbei, was uns sehr entgegenkam, da wir so in Ruhe bestellen konnten. Das Essen war reichlich, schmeckte hervorragend und wir genossen die entspannte Atmosphäre. Im Restaurant war es recht lebhaft und es unterhielten sich viele Gäste, aber wir konnten uns trotzdem problemlos unterhalten. Auch das Rauchen vor der Tür war kein Problem. Ich würde hier auf jeden Fall wieder essen.

Spontan vor einer Veranstaltung besucht und nicht enttäuscht. Preis/Leistung war an dem Tag in der Woche perfekt, absolut satt geworden. Essen war s hell da Service einwandfrei. Absolut empfehlenswert. Leider kann man nicht mit Karte zahlen.

Die Garnelen waren frisch und köstlich. Auch die Zwiebeln und Champignons zum Steak haben mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Das absolute Highlight war das warme Kirscheis. Einfach köstlich! 👍🏻

Das Essen : Es ist so lecker . Der Teller ist reichlich gefüllt. Mann wird auf dem Fall sat. Personal: Super freundlich. Eingang: Für Rollstühle mit einer Bühne einlass . WC: Treppen Abgang im Keller, alles sauber . Schöne Atmosphäre. Kann es nur Empfehlen.

Das Essen war grottenschlecht, die Lautstärke in zu vergleichen mit einer vollen Schulaula. Wir waren einmal dort und würde es nicht wieder besuchen.

Sehr lecker. Absolut leckeres griechisches Essen. Gyros phantastisch und dann auch noch der super faire Preis! Wir waren zu Besuch in Oberhausen. Ich würde jede Woche hingehen!

Eher einfach gehalten, aber sauber. Wirkt eher wie ein Essenssaal, als ein Restaurant. Dies tut aber dem recht guten Essen keinen Abbruch. Service zügig und eher zurückhaltend. Auf Kritik am Essen (hier war es das Dressing beim Salat), wurde weniger reagiert, fast schon ignoriert. Aber im Großen und Ganzen war es ganz ok.

2. Preiserhöhung auf alles. Die Portionen werden immer kleiner Schade

Wer im Stadtzentrum von Oberhausen preiswert aber richtg gut essen möchte, sollte unbedingt das Grichische Restaurant Korali in der Elsässerstr. aufsuchen. Ein perfektes Essen von der Karte als MIttagsmenü, mit Vorspeise - Hauptspeise - Nachtisch für 10,90 €. Glaubt kein Mensch. Wir hatten die Auswahl aus vier Menügruppen. Dazu eine Google-Bewertung von 4.6 bei 1.600 Bewertungen. Das ist MEGA. Mancher Restaurantbesitzer sollte hier einmal zum lernen hingehen. Andere zum schämen.........

Das Essen war sehr lecker und preislich absolut angemessen. Die Bedienung war außerdem sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Besuch.

Wir waren mit sechs Personen dort. Die verschiedenen Grillteller bestanden aus großen Portionen von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Dazu kommt ein hervorragendes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker, und wir sind früher regelmäßig gerne hier essen gegangen. Leider sind die Preise jetzt deutlich gestiegen – pro Person muss man inzwischen etwa 3–4 € mehr einplanen. Sowohl die Speisen als auch die Getränke sind teurer geworden. Schade ist außerdem, dass es früher kleine Aufmerksamkeiten des Hauses gab, wie einen Nachtisch oder einen Ouzo, die mittlerweile entfallen sind. Parkplätze direkt vor dem Lokal sind ebenfalls nicht vorhanden. Durch das offene Raumkonzept ist die Lautstärke recht hoch, was die Atmosphäre etwas unruhig wirken lässt.

Wir haben diesen Samstag den Mittagstisch für (je Gericht) knapp 10,- € probiert und waren positiv überrascht. Echt angenehmes Lokal, sehr netter Service und mega leckeres Essen zu einer super Preis-Leistung. Einen Gruß aus der Küche "mit Herz" als Nachtisch gab es übrigens als I-Tüpfelchen. Mega. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Reservierung übrigens empfehlenswert. Immer gut gefüllt der Laden :)

Das Restaurant bezeichnet sich allerdings auf der Webseite als barrierefrei, eine Rampe für die Eingangstüre ist vorhanden und die Wege im Restaurant sind breit genug für Rollstuhlfahrer, die Toiletten befinden sich jedoch im Untergeschoss und sind nur über eine Treppe erreichbar, daher Punktabzug beim Ambiente

A great restaurant that we have been visiting for many years.

Die typischen Gerichte, die man erwartet in einem griechischen Restaurant zubereitet zu kommen, werden hier stets in guter Qualität serviert. Auch die Portionen fallen mehr als ausreichend groß aus, ganz besonders wenn man die mehr als faire Preisgestaltung bedenkt. Alle Gerichte können auch zum Abholen bestellt werden.

Hallo,gehe schon seit Jahren da ab und zu Essen. Bin bis jetzt immer zufrieden und Satt mach Hause gegangen. Service +Schnelligkeit der Bestellung ist Top und sowieso das Essen (wie immer Lecker) und natürlich der Preis... Der einzige kleine Markel ist das Ambiente vielleicht und manchmal der Geräusch-Pegel. Komme aber gerne wieder ....

Waren dort am Wochenende eher zufällig gelandet, aber wir haben es nicht bereut. Schlichtes Ambiente, freundliche Bedienungen und leckeres Essen. Mehr baucht man da nicht zu sagen. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder, wenn wir in der Gegend sind.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen da. Es war ziemlich voll. Schon mal ein gutes Zeichen. Noch besser war das Essen aus einer tollen Mittagmenue-Karte. Das Essen war reichlich, inkl. Salat und Nachtisch, super lecker und zu einem unglaublich günstigen Preis! Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Lokal ist unbedingt zu empfehlen!!

Essen war vom Preis Leistung gut. Service lässt zu wünschen übrig, fast schon unfreundlich und kaum sitzt man am Tisch wird man nach Getränken gefragt. Es interessierte auch nicht, dass man darauf aufmerksam macht, dass man noch nicht in die Karte schauen konnte. Wenn man nur viel Essen für wenig Geld haben möchte...

Sehr leckeres Essen. Tolle Auswahl in allen Kategorien. Die Bedienungen waren alle sehr nett und aufmerksam. Preis-Leistung ist mehr als gut und man bekommt noch was für sein Geld. Die Location ist nicht wirklich "einladend", aber ich bin da nicht so pingelig. Ich komme zum Essen und nicht zum Inneneinrichtung bestaunen.

Ich hätte 0 Sterne gegeben wenn möglich. Wir haben das Essen vor Ort abgeholt - ein Fehler, denn augenscheinlich bekommen abholende Kunden den letzten Dreck. Die Verpackung ist Mist. Das Gyros ist wabbelig und in keinster Weise knusprig. "Medaillons" sind keine zu erkennen - Geschmack = 0 Gewürz. Außerdem hatte ich ausdrücklich ohne Zwiebeln bestellt - wie zu sehen wurde ich mit reichlich ungewollten Zwiebeln bedacht. Es ist eine Frechheit sowas an die Kunden rauszugeben. Für den Dreck dann auch noch 30 Euro zu nehmen ist bodenlos. Ich werde diesen Laden nicht empfehlen. Es wundert mich gar nicht, das die Bedienung von Freundlichkeit auch noch nie etwas gehört hat. Das Tzatziki war Ok.

Wir haben im Korali köstlich gegessen. Hochwertiges Essen, freundlicher Service. Großzügige Portionen, sodass man den Rest problemlos mit nach Hause nehmen kann.

Wir waren letzten Samstag zu zweit in diesem Restaurant. Das Essen war wirklich gut und reichlich, da gebe ich gerne volle 5 Sterne. Beim Service ziehe ich ein Stern ab weil wir bei der Getränkebestellung direkt gefragt wurden was wir essen wollen, sorry manchmal braucht man einen Moment um die Karte zu studieren. Das Essen kam ziemlich zügig, keine 15 Minuten später trotz voller Tische und Gäste. Der Chef war sehr bemüht und ging ständig umher. Die Atmosphäre war katastrophal, sehr laut und schallend, wir konnten uns auf jeden Fall nicht vernünftig unterhalten. Nach 45 Minuten haben wir das Lokal verlassen weil wir auch den Eindruck hatten alles muß schnell abgefertigt werden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nicht mehr wieder.

The food was really good – the dishes from the lunch menu were delicious. But what really disappointed me was the lack of a welcome drink of ouzo. The atmosphere was very loud and annoying, and the absence of the ouzo detracted from the overall experience even more. Instead, they provided new dishes with slightly less topping. They're definitely cutting corners in the wrong place.

Everything was deliciously prepared, the service was great, and it's a restaurant where you can be yourself. The restrooms were clean. The service was friendly and very quick. Fantastic, and thanks!

We've been regulars at Korali for years and can recommend it without reservation. Always make reservations in advance for evenings or weekends, even with large groups.

People have been coming there for years, always from the Sauerland region. The previous generation was top-notch. Now comes the generation that wants to make euros. The new ones will mess up a lot of things. Sometimes they have ouzo, sometimes not pana kotta, but no ouzo. They were treated like filth. Two couples always enjoyed coming to the Greek restaurant. Now the Greek restaurant has run out of steam. Many of our friends don't come anymore. It was great, but other Greeks couldn't be served without stress. Everything came to an end. We have been regulars at Restaurant Korali for many years. The previous owner was always very hospitable and friendly to all guests. Since the change of ownership, we've been there more often, but the hospitality and friendliness have steadily declined. Last Sunday we were there again; there was no friendly greeting and the question...yes, please... After we said we had reserved a table for today, we were shown to it. We were still standing in front of our table, taking off our jackets, when the waitress came over to hand us the menus and, even though we weren't seated yet, asked for our orders. The appetizers, salad, and bread were carelessly placed on the table. The appetizer was so oversalted it was inedible. Then came the main courses: the meat was only lukewarm and tough, the fries were soggy, and the tzatziki was again completely oversalted. The quantities on the plates have also become increasingly smaller. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer recommended.

Positives - Incredibly fast, friendly, and well-organized service with great nerves - The welcome drink from the kitchen (bread, herb butter, a small salad, and ouzo) was on the table about a minute after ordering - Drinks were pleasantly cold - Prices unexpectedly very reasonable, satisfactory value for money - Good, central location - Outdoor terrace - Well-maintained, clean restroom Negatives - The building seems to be showing its age; there's an old (?) water damage on the ceiling, the walls are poorly covered with OSB panels, and the interior feels dated - The enormous noise and hustle and bustle create a cafeteria-like atmosphere, and I personally can only take my hat off to the staff. I couldn't work like that and remain always friendly, courteous, and above all, organized - Unfortunately, it was noticeable that the salad had probably been prepared in advance and had been sitting for a while; it was no longer crisp and already a bit warm - A quick inquiry about whether the ouzo was even being consumed would have been nice, especially for the restaurant, since no one at the table wanted to drink it /could, it's really well-intentioned, but if it's not consumed at all, it's also a bit wasted. - I would have preferred a more balanced ratio of fries and rice. For me, there were too many fries and a tablespoon of rice too few. The plate looked a bit heartlessly presented. I had to search for the meat in my dish. In my opinion, it would make sense to serve the chicken breast fillet whole or just cut it into pieces. It looks nicer, and the guest has a chance to identify it as a whole. In conclusion, we'd happily come back on a quieter day and try other dishes. I assume it was just too crowded and we might have been a bit unlucky with our food selection.

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years and are always amazed at how good and delicious the food is. Even under new management. Some dishes have undergone slight changes, which we can only rate as a very positive. Everything here is delicious, from the appetizers to the main courses and desserts. The eggplant and zucchini are not at all greasy, the steak is very tender, the fish tastes great, and the gyros and all the other Greek delicacies are always freshly prepared and delicious. The new owner and his wife, as well as the rest of the staff, are always very friendly and welcoming. Since the restaurant is very busy, you should reserve a table if possible. We always enjoy coming here, especially since our dog is welcome too. 👍❤️😍 An update from July 20, 2025 😀 They have the best calamari here 👍👍😋 but of course the other dishes are also super delicious and the owners are very friendly and attentive!!

Great food and not too expensive. Waitress saw that our table was wobbly and immediately slid a folded beer mat under a table leg. Portion of food was just right for me. The salad starter had a bit too much dressing. It was very warm inside.

The food is very good. But the staff is much more relaxed and less tense, so you don't feel like you have to rush to get your food quickly.

As for the place itself, it's very nice, minimalist, but you can see that it's a Greek restaurant. The dishes themselves, the culinary peak, weren't bad either. Very good food, but nothing outstanding. On the other hand, a very big plus is the price for the size of the portions, cheap and a lot of food. As for restaurants, to come and eat a good dinner at a reasonable price, I highly recommend it

There was a time when you could eat extremely well here. Unfortunately, it has declined considerably. White wine in a water glass, conditions so overwhelming that you're hardly ever seen, let alone spoken to, and even the chef himself had to step in. The acoustics were so extreme that a conversation at a normal volume was impossible. The food, however, was good and tasty, and the portions were reasonable.

My wife and I were spontaneously in town looking for something to eat. After we couldn't find a seat inside, we sat outside the restaurant. It was worth it from start to finish! Great service, incredibly delicious food, and reasonable prices. We'd be happy to go back and highly recommend it 👌 The sole in white wine sauce is my recommendation 🥰

The food was delicious and really great for the price – the value for money is right here. The two male waiters were very friendly and attentive, which made the stay pleasant. Somewhat unusual, but interesting: An Asian waitress in the Greek restaurant. Unfortunately, she seemed very distant and showed no emotion – during our approximately two-hour visit, we didn't see her smile once. The benches along the wall were covered in stains – cleaning or a different, easy-care cover would be recommended. The restrooms in the basement deserve special mention: modern and very clean. Overall, a good experience with a few minor drawbacks.
