Down Town Diner & Motel Müggelheim in Berlin

Once and never again We went to this diner for the first time yesterday because we'd heard the burgers were good and the atmosphere was appealing. The location was quite nice and the staff friendly, but we really didn't like the food. The burger bun and meat were very dry, the mushrooms were burnt, the wedges were also very dry and tasteless, and even the iced tea wasn't good. The chef or owner has probably changed—in any case, in our opinion, you can't say the burgers there are good. You can eat very good burgers in Berlin, but definitely not there. What a shame.

Seven of us ate there, and it was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty, and there was a good selection of burgers and finger food. This wasn't our first time here, and we're always pleasantly surprised and would happily return.

The burgers are the best around here. The shop, the grounds, and the owners are super kid-friendly. My nephew had the best restaurant experience today with all the beautiful old American cars.

Waited for 40 minutes for drinks. The waitress, who was supposed to serve us, just left before bringing us anything without saying anything. The order was wrong, they brought a different drink instead of what we asked for.

I grew up in Müggelheim and have known the shop for over ten years – it was our absolute favorite for a long time. Our last visit was all the more disappointing, though. We waited an hour and a half for our food, even though we'd only been told beforehand that it might take a little longer. The guacamole smelled strongly of alcohol – clearly spoiled – and the meat was burnt and completely dried out. The service was provided exclusively by teenage assistants (probably 15-16 years old) who were completely overwhelmed. This isn't their fault, of course, but a clear management error – putting such young people into such a situation without adequate support is simply unfair and irresponsible. A woman working in the kitchen seemed drenched in sweat and extremely fidgety – unfortunately, she didn't seem trustworthy. When we mentioned the spoiled guacamole, all we got was a terse, "Yes, of course it's not good." No concession, no apology, no offer. Only when we were about to pay and leave did the offer of a drink or a discount come – too late. My wife was throwing up that evening, and we're really hoping she doesn't get food poisoning. I never thought I'd have to write something like this about this place, but it wasn't just bad – it was downright disgusting. Even one star is too much here.

Quality isn't good enough for the price. A piece of lettuce is used in the burger instead of small leaves or sliced ​​lettuce, which is just not acceptable... especially when the piece takes up half the space in the bun and is quite dark because it's already wilted. The taste isn't bad, but the service is disappointing. Dishes are placed on the table instead of being handed out, as are the drinks. Change isn't given correctly. Some employees aren't very communicative because they're very taciturn. Restrooms aren't very clean, and there's no soap available. The location and ambiance, however, are good to very good.

Ten of us came here to get something delicious to eat. We had reserved a table the day before. I'm even writing this review in the restaurant because we've already waited almost two hours before we could even order food. At least we got drinks. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. The food probably tastes good, but by the time you get it, you're not hungry anymore. Update: After a total of three hours, the food finally arrived, and it didn't even taste good. The patty was burnt. Beef sausage isn't the best choice for a hot dog. The salad tastes stale, and the fries aren't exactly eye-catching. PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!!!

We were out for practical purposes again and decided to go to a diner. The Downtown Garage is a quaint place, and if you also have a penchant for old cars and spare parts, you're in good hands here. The burgers are really great and, above all, hot. Fries with hot cheese sauce with the pulled pork burger are fantastic. They don't skimp on the sauce on the burgers either. You can really get yourself messed up. 🤣 Above all, the atmosphere there is really chilled and relaxed. You can't go wrong with a delicious beer. The tables are clean and don't have any sticky residue from the previous occupants. We will go there again. You can also stay overnight there, as there's a motel attached. Also in a quaint style. The staff was very friendly and reliable. We also bought two shirts with the Downtown logo on it. My conclusion: definitely stop by and unwind, and enjoy.

I was back today after years, and it's as amazing as ever! Great location with a great atmosphere. The burgers and especially the hot dog were amazing! By the way, the best fries I've had in a long time! And they have delicious soft-serve ice cream in the old American school bus 🍦 I need to come here more often 😉

The vibe is not bad. But think twice to eat here as you need to wait for two hours to get your food. Moreover, this arrogant guy at the bar believe it’s your fault without knowing in advance that they only have one stuff in the kitchen. We even had not right to cancel our food after waiting 1.5 hours. What a joke.

Today was my first and last visit here. Right from the start, I was informed that it would take 1.5 hours for the food to arrive because "the kitchen was completely overwhelmed." I gave up trying to order at least a coffee after 30 minutes because no server felt compelled to come over. The soft serve ice cream seemed to be bad because it tasted sour. Although the clerk was repeatedly alerted to this by different customers, sales continued unabated. I can't understand the recommendation of this diner by friends. I'm shocked at how unprepared and uncoordinated this establishment was. Yes, it was a holiday, but there weren't crowds of customers; most just waited for their food, usually for over an hour. And if that leads to chaos, I don't even want to know what happens when it gets really busy.

Unique location, tender, juicy spare ribs, generous portion sizes, and attentive and friendly staff. Satisfactory value for money—see you again soon.

This American restaurant is very cozy. The food is really tasty. The fries are the best there. Sometimes you see workers there who are very stressed, but that's not a bad thing at all. So well suited for a sports evening.

Unfortunately very variable quality. Sometimes a tender burger patty with a good fat content, sometimes like it comes from a 400g mince pack, tough and unseasoned. I don't have the line to order here more often. Unfortunately it's a matter of luck. It's a shame, especially because there is another way.

We are often hungry and of course thirsty after a motorcycle tour. In the diner, our cravings for delicious food and cool drinks are 100% satisfied. Dessert is always served with delicious soft ice cream. A great restaurant! The staff is super friendly and totally cool. You really feel like you're in an American diner. It's totally comfortable, whether you want to sit inside or outside. And the food is a 10/10. I've been there twice now. The first time I ate a burger and it was delicious. The second time I had a hot dog and it was huge. In general the portions are really really good. I can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant to everyone.

It's been a long time since we ordered from Down Town Diner. We like to sit there every summer. We spontaneously ordered to be picked up in the evening on Valentine's Day and it was ready after 20 minutes to the minute at 7:00 p.m., when we had announced our arrival. The food was freshly prepared and the quality was very good. We paid €16 for two burgers and a large portion of fries with dip. After this good experience, we will definitely order there again and also eat there. We also had three sweet tulips in our bag to match the day. The service was also very nice. After this experience I can only recommend it 😋🍔

If you love a good burger, I recommend the Down Town Diner. Really awesome location in typical US style with lots of beautiful details for motor enthusiasts. The ambience including the forecourt invites you into the US atmosphere and you will be welcomed by a great and friendly team who will be happy to tell you about the house's great homemade specialties. Your mouth will start to water just hearing all the delicacies and how much attention to detail they are served with. Forget the typical burgers from the fast food chains and experience the homemade enjoyment in the Down Town Diner and treat yourself to a finger food mix with the best mozzarella pastix I have ever experienced. We are especially looking forward to our next visit when spareribs are available again. I say only 14 hours in the smoker. Many thanks to the entire team. See you next time.

I ordered from you on Sunday. Was convinced that the taste had improved a lot, only to find out that I got food poisoning from the food a day later. I had a fever and was throwing up all the time and that continued even at Christmas 😕.

Delicious duck, winter red cabbage, several types of cheese and cambert and hollondaise sauce sounds powerful and it was! Incredibly delicious! We spent two nights in this hotel with our dogs and really enjoyed it. The room is very nice and interestingly decorated, everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The service was excellent and friendly. The WiFi was excellent and there was free parking. The food in the diner was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I can highly recommend it!

I went to this kebab after a very hard day at work... Once again I was disappointed because the employees were so unfriendly and cut off such disgusting thick pieces of this meat that I almost broke when I ate it. Besides, it didn't taste good at all and my Turkish pizza was rolled, guess what? I could only really take a few bites of it and then had to throw it away That was definitely the last time for me

The Texas Cumshot really has the perfect balance between sweet and savory, which is mainly due to the best BBQ sauce I have ever tasted. Great...! A diner with now excellent cuisine. The location is beautifully designed, but what stands out is the quality of the food. No usual frozen pattis or ready-made sauces from buckets that are kept warm for hours. The meal takes a while, but is on point. 👍 You can taste the craftsmanship and the love behind it. From various burgers (the Texas Cumshot has its name for a reason 😅*drool*), crispy fries to prime rib and finally soft ice cream, I've really enjoyed everything so far. Was here for the first time. Food was delicious. At first it was nice and comfortable. The young waiter was nice and accommodating. The second service was a disaster...It left a bad aftertaste... If there's one thing I can't stand, it's when the waitress, despite pointing out that there's still something left in the glass, stays at the table and waits for you to finish the glass and then there's a discussion. Politeness looks different. A cappuccino is served without a spoon. But with coffee cream... it's a shame... maybe the management should explain to the young lady again how to behave towards guests, what's on the menu, training on how the coffee machine works. What is the difference between a latte and a cup of coffee and what a coffee setting looks like...assuming the young lady is even interested in this job...since taking selfies was apparently more important...

I became aware of the Down Town Diner through a friend who is a regular customer there. Such a great, lovingly oriented location and the burgers are and taste homemade! The homemade lemonade and iced teas are also very tasty. The coleslaw with dill took a little getting used to because I don't usually like dill, but it still rounded off the meal deliciously. Definitely coming back!

I think I just had one of my best burgers, really tasty.

The last time we ate here was in 2017. It was really bad there. Tried it again today after 3 years and it's really amazing how it has changed. Due to Corona we had it delivered. Everything was warm and extremely tasty. I deducted one star because the chicken nuggets are unfortunately not of good quality. The burgers, on the other hand, are really great. We will now order more often or go there.

I come from a service provider relationship myself. ...when this wasn't sent by email, I called about 3 times, each time someone wanted to take care of it...no problem if the people are friendly and helpful..then I ordered something again and called to see if they could The credit or something similar could be agreed upon so that it was even...described the situation...I was given an extra, super cool and sweet...when the food arrived I looked at the order and it wasn't there...then I spoke to the supplier, he didn't know anything about it and they probably don't actually do that...so I called again...described the situation and then they said oh yes, that was probably forgotten...credit doesn't work either, I'll take care of it So they'll call later...then I called again, had a good feeling for the first time because the colleague was very nice, after a small misunderstanding I was emphatically promised this time that it would work with the code - it actually worked. ..but unfortunately it wasn't valid...I called again and then it was the same loaner again, yes we'll get in touch...nothing there...I'm really more than disappointed and I'll never order from them again!!!

A very sad visit indeed. The fries were swimming in oil, the menu said there were 2 ears of corn but you only got one cut in half, drinks were way overpriced and the burger felt like it didn't taste like anything. The staff neither knew what they were offering, nor did they know the range, nor could they calculate simple invoices. Very disappointed. I was a regular customer there years ago but that was my last visit there. It's really amazing how the store can survive.

I ate there again for a long time a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, this time we were more than disappointed, something we had never experienced before. To date it has always been very tasty there and we have always been happy to accept a longer journey there. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as a starter. Visually they look different now. They are served as thick bars, unfortunately some of them are still cold inside. The salsa is gray and absolutely tasteless. When it came to the burgers, we noticed that the water just squirted out of the meat patties when we ate them and unfortunately the taste of the burger was no longer the same as it used to be. My beloved homemade strawberry-mint lemonade was served with strawberries, which were unfortunately already past their best and looked very unappetizing in the glass. When I asked the waitress about it, I wasn't offered a new drink and generally no commitment was shown. Not even when I pointed out the cold mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately the cuisine there has more than deteriorated, very annoying for the money you paid. We won't be coming back again.

Simply the worst ribs I've ever eaten. Totally dry, the meat was hard to cut or impossible to cut. Service was subpar, hardly any guests and then almost an hour until the food was on the table. Then something was missing, I can't recommend it, unfortunately. It's a shame, I was so looking forward to dinner with friends.

We had several meals delivered to us, including the dino volcano for children. My son tried the mashed potatoes and said they tasted disgusting, then I tried these and they were sour. I called straight away and let them know. The nice woman on the phone offered to deliver the dinosaur volcano again or give me a voucher. I wanted to have the Vulkan delivered new... shortly afterwards I get a call from Down Town Garage. Man, he tried the mashed potatoes and they tasted the same as always. I then repeated that he was sour and asked if they might use a certain spice and that's why he tasted sour. He couldn't answer this because he wasn't included in the "kitchen topics". He then asked whether my child would starve to death now. Nice absolutely nice. I offered him the chance to pick up the dino volcano from here - all that's missing is two spoonfuls of mashed potatoes. Well, what can you say about that other than: the food is still here, you're welcome to pick it up and maybe you'll find your decency again on the way!!!

Yesterday we ate at the diner again for a long time. We can't understand the previous bad reviews at all. The map is smaller after the operator change - clearer - that's right. The burgers have different names and have new ingredients. A small card also speaks for quality and not for mass production. Our food came quickly and tasted delicious! Price-performance ratio fits - we'll be happy to come back!

In terms of taste, the food was disappointing because some spices were used that didn't fit at all and had a negative effect on the taste of the dishes. Although the service staff were nice and polite, they seemed to have little ability to deal with criticism, which further marred the overall experience. It's a shame, but unfortunately we won't be coming over anymore.
