Ideally located hotel for a trade fair or concert at the LANXESS Arena. Full marks for location, staff, breakfast, on-site dining, and value for money in conjunction with various offers. Highly recommended.

I went to a Karneval Party, the Location is great, the Staff was super friendly, everything was well kept.

Very kind service and good room condition with big room size. I 'm here for 16 days and I can't feel any inconvinience. Good place and hope to come again.

The Dorint is a classic hotel. The reception was very friendly! Unfortunately, the elevators were very slow, and wait times were long. The rooms were clean, with great closet layout. The windows on the upper floors can still be opened :) Unfortunately, the fixtures in the shower are showing their age, and the corners aren't cleaned thoroughly. There's no information booklet. Conclusion: A bit too expensive for a simple overnight stay.

Perfect. We attended an event in the main hall of the Dorint Hotel. We were able to check in on time – which we thought was great – and the walk between the room and the hall was short. Breakfast is sensationally good. The waiters in the hall have been better in recent years. However, I don't know if they are assigned to the evening by the Dorint or by the event organizer. Placing a keg of beer on the table instead of on a keg rack – that should be possible, surely. Especially since it's been possible for the past five years. When the keg is on the rack, it's quite a visual obstruction towards the stage. I would have preferred a more customer-friendly solution here.

Great hotel with excellent service! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. My room was cleaned daily, towels were changed, and even my personal items like razors and deodorant were carefully arranged – a lovely, unexpected touch! The room was very clean, the central location was ideal, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide selection. An all-round successful stay – I'd love to come back!

The hotel is in good condition. It has modern amenities. An electric charging station is available in the underground garage. Parking fees are quite high at €32.00. However, the entrance to the trade fair center is directly across the street.

I was there to celebrate. Good, friendly service. Ideal location for trade fair visitors. It's also easy to get to the city center, whether on foot, via the Hohenzollern Bridge or Deutzer Bridge, or by public transport, tram, and train.

Unfortunately, the room wasn't very clean. Even though it's very busy during Carnival, the bathroom should be decent for the price. But...at least the service was apologetic. €30 for breakfast is also decent, but there are plenty of other options outside. Very good location.

Modern hotel within walking distance of the centre

The hotel was good and clean. There was a window that opened 😍 We didn't bother with breakfast.

Good and well-maintained hotel. The staff is nice and friendly. The food is very good. The rooms are spacious. I went to a seminar there and the chairs were comfortable and the food during the breaks was very good. The hotel is easily accessible by train.

Huge clean rooms. Breakfast was also very tasty and extensive. But old small TV and room somehow empty. It wasn't "comfortable"

We stayed in this hotel with 27 people. From Friday to Sunday. There was nothing to complain about. Room 10 stars, breakfast 10 stars, staff 10 stars. If Cologne doesn't rise, which I hope we will see each other again. Thank you and keep it up.

Everything was perfect. Only one thing I can say: the swimming pool was so cold for me although my son enjoyed it. Maybe I'm getting old?!?!?

Attended an event, so didn't get to know the room. The staff were all very helpful and requests were immediately fulfilled in every possible way. There was a lot of traffic there for a Saturday that had nothing to do with the event.

Outrageous parking costs of €32 per day

Very courteous staff and a check-in that you would want in any hotel. Many thanks to the reception team for their warm support, and also to the service for their good service. My 9 year old also felt cared for.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, the welcome was warm and without any problems, the breakfast left nothing to be desired, everything was there, the staff in the brewery were also friendly, the rooms were clean, which is important to us, you can see the carpet argue, on the one hand it is quiet when people walk down the hallway, on the other hand today is a different age with laminate etc. Otherwise we liked it, everything was within walking distance, always

A very nice, well-kept and quiet hotel right opposite the trade fair.

Hotel rooms are certainly in order, spacious enough and very good beds. The tram to the center stops in front of the door, so the location is very convenient! Too bad the breakfast was substandard for about €30 pp. I have stayed in this hotel several times and the breakfast buffet was more extensive than what we had now. Do you think they adjust the buffet to the number of guests staying there at that time? Bar staff from the beer bar Dux, which is part of the hotel, will take the money out of your wallet! Had to pay €22 and they made it €25 on their own initiative, drinking money. I ALWAYS give drink money in any place I go, but not like this!

Me and my girlfriend were here for our weekend away. It was a very nice hotel. You will be welcomed by friendly staff. Room is very nice, view is not that special but that doesn't matter. You can go straight into the city. Deserves 4 stars because there was a lovely bath in the room. Ideal! Furthermore, the hotel is close to the city, at least if you take a scooter that is located around the hotel. In short, a great hotel for a weekend away.

Too expensive. Everything is charged on top. Spa, bathrobe, which was not available anymore. Wanted to charged 10€ extra for early check in (1h before regular check in). Did not inform me about this charge and only put it on the invoice at check out. They claimed they informed me but they didn’t and treated me as a liar. Last time I stayed there.

Very nice employees, the price of breakfast €28 per person is out of proportion. Too expensive, the carpets in the room are no longer up to date, and unfortunately there was no separate shower either, the shower was integrated into the high bathtub. Sorry price performance not ok

Short distance to the Lanxess Arena and the train station, rooms are large and spacious, shower a little old-fashioned, toiletries and magnifying mirrors available, everything is top notch. Everything was available for breakfast, coffee machine, freshly prepared scrambled eggs and omelettes, lots of fresh fruit.

Neighborhood under development, a lot was built during our stay. Recommended as a very nice base for a visit to beautiful Cologne.

One of the top hotels in Cologne. But the rooms have remained unchanged for 20 years. Clean and correct but the age shows. All other offers are excellent. The breakfast buffet is rich and the bar is open until 2 a.m.

Good hotel for overnight stays as part of events in the Lanxess Arena. This and the Deutz train station can each be reached in about 10 minutes on foot.

Unfortunately the cleaning company there isn't the best. I had such bad hygienic deficiencies in the room that it was unacceptable. I was then able to swap and get a larger room. Equipment is outdated and scratched. The rooms are ok but not modern. The bathroom has everything you need. The staff is great and so is the breakfast. However, the hotel is getting old and needs renovation. But what you only notice at second glance.

It wasn't our first time there, but as always everything was clean, whether it was the room, bar, restaurant or other areas. But I'm also someone who looks everywhere, including the roof at the main entrance. I'm not going to say anything about that now because maybe someone will get the idea to look up themselves. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the employees cannot be topped; in our opinion, it couldn't be better. We'll be back

The room was ok. I found the breakfast varied and rich. The underground car park is bright and friendly.

The service in de bar was disappointing. Too low staffed, too slow inaccurate. 4,50 for tea, but nu the 0.4 liter which promissed on the map. No problem that the room was not cleaned after one night; but be honist about is

The location in close proximity to the Lanxess Arena is unbeatable. The rooms are modern and functional, only the bathroom with the bathtub is not quite up to date. I would like to deduct a star for that, but because the bar team performed outstandingly after the Scooter concert until late into the night, I get full points here. Instead of closing the bar at midnight, as is usual in a hotel, the team continued until the last people turned off the lights. And always with a smile. Zemmer was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and I was treated very kindly by everyone. As we Germans like to say: There was nothing to complain about ;)

Nice room, nice bathroom, maybe it could be cleaner because the bathroom had a lot of long hair on the wall and floor as well as hair. The food is great. Too expensive for us, the view from the hotel is of the buildings at least from the third floor.

Very friendly, helpful staff from reception to restaurant to room service. Top room, very clean, only the mattress was a bit too hard for me. Breakfast and food in the restaurant were excellent, very good cocktails, pleasant atmosphere and everything was within walking distance. Always my pleasure!

Great hotel in a top location, clean, very good breakfast buffet and modern rooms, service very good, but - as on the previous visit - the complaint is that the bar is only open until 1 a.m.! A lot of guests book into the hotel because they are attending an event in the Lanxess Arena, which usually ends shortly before or shortly after midnight. Then you come to the hotel about 15/20 minutes later in a friendly atmosphere or as a couple and want to review the evening in a cozy atmosphere with a drink, but the bar closes, the staff settles the bill, it's time for work!!! Not an isolated case!!! The booth in the foyer is still open at best, but who wants to switch from draft beer or a nice cocktail to bottled beer??? For a hotel of this category that also advertises a bar, this is not a good flagship, very unfortunate. Unfortunately, this is a big minus! Other hotels can do that better!

Don't you just hate when you pay circa €250 for a hotel room and you still have to pay for everything at the hotel? I'm sorry to say that Dorint Hotel An der Messe is like that. The breakfast is €30 extra, to use the pool is €6 extra, a bathrobe is €3,5. Other than that, the hotel in itself is pretty good.

Good, nice hotel and it is centrally located. We even got a free upgrade.

Very clean, close to city traffic, very friendly staff, top rooms, directly connected to a parking garage and 24/7 service. Nothing stands in the way of another visit, I can only recommend it.

Here the situation at the trade fair is exploited to the fullest extent financially. Rooms are in full renovation. Carpet and bathtub in the room - sorry - no go!

Update: 1 point due to poor communication with the hotel's complaints department! Impossible! You are portrayed as an idiot even though you can prove the booking process with booking confirmations, screenshots and correspondence, and that Booking.com continues to advertise on-site payment, but you have to provide your credit card directly, which is then tried directly to burden!!! 1. Booking via Booking.com. To be paid on site according to booking. After booking, they immediately tried to charge my credit card, which didn't work. But I had to specify one for the booking. 2. Informed the hotel and they told me that this was a mistake on Booking.com's part and that the price there always had to be paid immediately. Booking via Booking.com was canceled, but so far it has not been adjusted at Booking.com. I wrote to Booking.com about this today. 3. Hotel reservation by email is now €40 more than via Booking.com 4. Check in yesterday: Room was not booked despite booking confirmation. 5. Payment: Price 232€ without breakfast, which was not mentioned, however, as Cologne also charges an accommodation tax for private overnight stays, so another 15€ on top. 6. Wellness must be booked separately, an additional €6 was paid, I was only informed of this after I asked. Asking directly at check-in whether you need a bathrobe etc. is not an option 7. Friendliness: When I asked how it could be that I had €232 in the booking confirmation but was now paying more, the quick answer was that it had been written in the small print, which was really misleading for me as a private person! If I had complaints, I should tell the city of Cologne.... Huh???? So the VAT is also communicated to me directly and is not in the small print... 8. Wellness area clean, the swimming pool relatively cold in terms of temperature, sauna, 2 saunas 65 degrees, 95 degrees and a steam bath. No infusion option, so sauna warm but no effect. 9. Breakfast... actually confirmed what others have already written. Utopian prices, my 12 year old daughter who is half a roll in the morning should pay €29. So we decided against it and went out for breakfast. Apart from that, we weren't alone and the breakfast room was empty. Maybe the hotel should think about this. 10. Underground car park: extremely narrow parking spaces and €32 per day for house guests is really steep. Great location to the Kölnarena but we definitely won't be seen in the hotel again, I feel more than cheated! 07.10. Management reached out today and received no constructive response Good evening, at Booking.com the room is offered without advance payment! PAYMENT ON SITE!!! I had already sent your colleague a screenshot in which the rooms are still shown as on-site payment and you then have to enter your credit card and try to charge it directly! Furthermore, colleagues said that the information on the Booking.com site was not up to date but that the alleged error has still not been fixed, so please don't talk nonsense here! Everything has actually gone wrong for you and the prices are misleading!!

As everyone said, room was clean and quiet. You may find difficult to set temp of the room. AC doesn’t work as well as you expect. Also don’t forget to put dnd card on the door because house keeping may enter your room at 8:30. When you complain about it basically what they say is sorry for that but there is nothing we can do. Would I stay there again probably not !

In itself it is a very nice and clean hotel, so you can't really complain. However, what you should definitely deal with is the price of breakfast €32 PER PERSON, which is not justified considering the quality offered. Here you should seriously think about adjusting either the price or the quality of the food on offer. Equally impossible is the fact that the hotel does not offer its own parking spaces. There is a parking garage next to the hotel where you can park your car, and the staff at reception explain this in detail if you ask, but we paid €64 in parking fees for two days, which is simply outrageous! In addition, there are additional fees for using the spa area, and there is even a rental fee for bathrobes. I've never experienced anything like this in my life! The pool was ice cold, so you could hardly last 10 minutes in it unless you sprint straight into the sauna, otherwise it would be hard to bear. The service at the bar also left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the waitress in question, but she was very rude, constantly whining and complaining. We had to wait there for about 10 minutes to be served for a coke. Is that how it should be? So you definitely won't see us again👎🏻

We stayed here for one night. Location is very good. We had a barrier-free room (not booked). That's probably why it was very large. Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't cleaned. After a complaint (the lady at reception wasn't particularly friendly when I reported this) this was taken care of immediately. This simply cannot happen! Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the quiet at night because there were a lot of very young people in the hotel this weekend who had previously attended a concert in the arena and used the hallway in front of our room as a stage etc. at full volume. That doesn't work at all. Breakfast is expensive - yes, that's true - but very, very good. There were alleged problems with the full payment when checking out - this was not communicated confidently at the reception (error from the hotel) - this can be done much better. 32 euros parking fee for one night. We would have liked to have at least asked how the stay was, as this was done to other guests. Lots of room for improvement.

The hotel is in a very clean condition. The beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. I have no complaints.

Superior room was fine (6th floor). No noise from neighbors audible. Comfortable beds, everything was clean. Problems with the air conditioning in the living room (it took forever to get it going and once you did it, it started making noise after a while). Since we were there on the weekend, the staff was rather "reserved" when it came to offering help (no building services, etc.).

22° in the room instead of 19 as promised. Very weak air conditioning. Very disappointing. I called before booking and found out about the air conditioning because I need it cool at night. And according to the employees, that’s how it should be. Saving a few euros in energy costs at the expense of customer comfort, very clever! Never again Dorint PS: I pointed this out directly at check-in, and your employees couldn't or wouldn't help me. They said the technician was gone and that it was Dorint's policy for energy saving reasons that the rooms should not be colder.

Never pay with card in this hotel “Dorint an der Messe”. Rooms are actually sold for MORE EXPENSIVE than previously agreed. We also had our experiences in this hotel. Honesty looks different, guest-oriented behavior even more so. We enter this house "NO MORE".

Very nice staff. The room was very good except for the loose tiles in front of the sink. Prices in gastronomy from the hotel are high...

Unfortunately we didn't like the price-performance ratio that much. The location is great and the beds are comfortable. Service is very friendly and helpful. You can have better and cheaper breakfast somewhere else for the price. The TV is tiny and the rooms are a little dated. It was ok for us for one night.

I booked a room in this hotel on August 22, 2024 at around 8:00 p.m., the manager gave me a price that suited me and I paid by card. Some sockets and light switches in the room didn't work. I left on August 23rd around 10:00 am. After checking the account, I saw that 705 euros were debited from it, which is much more than the amount quoted by the manager. A room for the night from August 24th to 25th can now be ordered on the website from 263 euros. The hotel refused to refund me even part of the money because Gamescom is taking place from August 21st to 25th and 705 euros per night is a normal price. Never pay by card at this hotel.

I was there for the first time last year. For me and my friends there is no discussion. We will book there again next year.

Shhönes Hotel, very good internet. The breakfast was very good, a lot of choice of food and you could see live how eggs etc. were being cooked/fried. There were enough parking spaces, the bathroom was fine, but the shower head was leaking and therefore the water pressure wasn't very high. Hotel to recommend

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately you need to pay 6€ additional to use small swimming pool. Room was big and clean. Breakfast has a bit of everything, only smoked salmon was missing ( so if you do not eat meat and dairy product), mhmm. Photos speak by themselves. 7min walking from Lanxess Arena, in front of Koeln Messe and stop of tram 14(each 10min). Very easy to reach by 14 the Dom

Location, staff and rooms were good. However, the bathroom had not been cleaned, and a bathtub with an old showerhead instead of a real shower is no longer appropriate. The hotel is quite old and doesn't seem to be being modernized.

When I booked I asked for 2 single beds. This means to me 2 beds, so 2 people. I paid 384 euro. Which is a lot of money for 2 nights. When we arrived they told us we had to pay another 96 euro because I booked only for 1 person (not !) In the night I went to the reception as my friend was loud snoring and I couldn t sleep. I was asking for a small room or some simple room where I could sleep. They charged me another 156 euro for 2 nights!!! In the end I paid 640 euro for 2 nights !!!!! Crazy money. We asked where we could do welness. Again we had to pay extra ! It is all about money and no goodwill at all. The breakfast is good, but nobody told us that on Monday the breakfast is earlier then Sunday, so we were too late for breakfast ... I will not recommand this place to anyone anymore. Way to expensive ...

Close to the dance fountain and ideal for festival visitors. Breakfast is quite expensive at €30 per person.

We had a large suite over two floors. Furnishings are definitely a bit older, but everything is clean and well maintained. The welcome was friendly and we would like to come back. We didn't use breakfast.

It's a nice hotel, comfortable room. I missed a socket near the bed. Personally I'm not a fan of showering in the tub, but it worked. Breakfast rates are ridiculous in my opinion. Almost €30,- for a cup of coffee and a bowl of yoghurt is overrated. Parking rates could be less too, imo.
