Excellent hotel opposite the fair.

Great hotel in a top location, clean, very good breakfast buffet and modern rooms, service very good, but - as on the previous visit - the complaint is that the bar is only open until 1 a.m.! A lot of guests book into the hotel because they are attending an event in the Lanxess Arena, which usually ends shortly before or shortly after midnight. Then you come to the hotel about 15/20 minutes later in a friendly atmosphere or as a couple and want to review the evening in a cozy atmosphere with a drink, but the bar closes, the staff settles the bill, it's time for work!!! Not an isolated case!!! The booth in the foyer is still open at best, but who wants to switch from draft beer or a nice cocktail to bottled beer??? For a hotel of this category that also advertises a bar, this is not a good flagship, very unfortunate. Unfortunately, this is a big minus! Other hotels can do that better!

Modern and friendly furnished rooms as well as a very good breakfast buffet make your stay very pleasant.

Very clean, close to city traffic, very friendly staff, top rooms, directly connected to a parking garage and 24/7 service. Nothing stands in the way of another visit, I can only recommend it.

Once again very satisfied. The rooms are OK. A bigger TV would be nice, but you don't come to Cologne to watch TV ;-) Top location. Stops to the city center right outside the door.

Here the situation at the trade fair is exploited to the fullest extent financially. Rooms are in full renovation. Carpet and bathtub in the room - sorry - no go!

Update: 1 point due to poor communication with the hotel's complaints department! Impossible! You are portrayed as an idiot even though you can prove the booking process with booking confirmations, screenshots and correspondence, and that Booking.com continues to advertise on-site payment, but you have to provide your credit card directly, which is then tried directly to burden!!! 1. Booking via Booking.com. To be paid on site according to booking. After booking, they immediately tried to charge my credit card, which didn't work. But I had to specify one for the booking. 2. Informed the hotel and they told me that this was a mistake on Booking.com's part and that the price there always had to be paid immediately. Booking via Booking.com was canceled, but so far it has not been adjusted at Booking.com. I wrote to Booking.com about this today. 3. Hotel reservation by email is now €40 more than via Booking.com 4. Check in yesterday: Room was not booked despite booking confirmation. 5. Payment: Price 232€ without breakfast, which was not mentioned, however, as Cologne also charges an accommodation tax for private overnight stays, so another 15€ on top. 6. Wellness must be booked separately, an additional €6 was paid, I was only informed of this after I asked. Asking directly at check-in whether you need a bathrobe etc. is not an option 7. Friendliness: When I asked how it could be that I had €232 in the booking confirmation but was now paying more, the quick answer was that it had been written in the small print, which was really misleading for me as a private person! If I had complaints, I should tell the city of Cologne.... Huh???? So the VAT is also communicated to me directly and is not in the small print... 8. Wellness area clean, the swimming pool relatively cold in terms of temperature, sauna, 2 saunas 65 degrees, 95 degrees and a steam bath. No infusion option, so sauna warm but no effect. 9. Breakfast... actually confirmed what others have already written. Utopian prices, my 12 year old daughter who is half a roll in the morning should pay €29. So we decided against it and went out for breakfast. Apart from that, we weren't alone and the breakfast room was empty. Maybe the hotel should think about this. 10. Underground car park: extremely narrow parking spaces and €32 per day for house guests is really steep. Great location to the Kölnarena but we definitely won't be seen in the hotel again, I feel more than cheated! 07.10. Management reached out today and received no constructive response Good evening, at Booking.com the room is offered without advance payment! PAYMENT ON SITE!!! I had already sent your colleague a screenshot in which the rooms are still shown as on-site payment and you then have to enter your credit card and try to charge it directly! Furthermore, colleagues said that the information on the Booking.com site was not up to date but that the alleged error has still not been fixed, so please don't talk nonsense here! Everything has actually gone wrong for you and the prices are misleading!!

As everyone said, room was clean and quiet. You may find difficult to set temp of the room. AC doesn’t work as well as you expect. Also don’t forget to put dnd card on the door because house keeping may enter your room at 8:30. When you complain about it basically what they say is sorry for that but there is nothing we can do. Would I stay there again probably not !

In itself it is a very nice and clean hotel, so you can't really complain. However, what you should definitely deal with is the price of breakfast €32 PER PERSON, which is not justified considering the quality offered. Here you should seriously think about adjusting either the price or the quality of the food on offer. Equally impossible is the fact that the hotel does not offer its own parking spaces. There is a parking garage next to the hotel where you can park your car, and the staff at reception explain this in detail if you ask, but we paid €64 in parking fees for two days, which is simply outrageous! In addition, there are additional fees for using the spa area, and there is even a rental fee for bathrobes. I've never experienced anything like this in my life! The pool was ice cold, so you could hardly last 10 minutes in it unless you sprint straight into the sauna, otherwise it would be hard to bear. The service at the bar also left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the waitress in question, but she was very rude, constantly whining and complaining. We had to wait there for about 10 minutes to be served for a coke. Is that how it should be? So you definitely won't see us again👎🏻

Ideal for visiting a trade fair. Top service, good rooms, delicious breakfast. Restaurant in the house is good but not cheap either. You feel good.

The hotel is in a very clean condition. The beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. I have no complaints.

We stayed here for one night. Location is very good. We had a barrier-free room (not booked). That's probably why it was very large. Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't cleaned. After a complaint (the lady at reception wasn't particularly friendly when I reported this) this was taken care of immediately. This simply cannot happen! Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the quiet at night because there were a lot of very young people in the hotel this weekend who had previously attended a concert in the arena and used the hallway in front of our room as a stage etc. at full volume. That doesn't work at all. Breakfast is expensive - yes, that's true - but very, very good. There were alleged problems with the full payment when checking out - this was not communicated confidently at the reception (error from the hotel) - this can be done much better. 32 euros parking fee for one night. We would have liked to have at least asked how the stay was, as this was done to other guests. Lots of room for improvement.

About 10 minutes on foot to the Lanxess Arena. Clean, great beds, and quiet. I can't rate the food and service

The hotel is very clean and also very quiet in the rooms. Ideal to relax. The staff is very friendly and helpful. No wishes remain unfulfilled. The rich breakfast buffet is also highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

Superior room was fine (6th floor). No noise from neighbors audible. Comfortable beds, everything was clean. Problems with the air conditioning in the living room (it took forever to get it going and once you did it, it started making noise after a while). Since we were there on the weekend, the staff was rather "reserved" when it came to offering help (no building services, etc.).

22° in the room instead of 19 as promised. Very weak air conditioning. Very disappointing. I called before booking and found out about the air conditioning because I need it cool at night. And according to the employees, that’s how it should be. Saving a few euros in energy costs at the expense of customer comfort, very clever! Never again Dorint PS: I pointed this out directly at check-in, and your employees couldn't or wouldn't help me. They said the technician was gone and that it was Dorint's policy for energy saving reasons that the rooms should not be colder.

Never pay with card in this hotel “Dorint an der Messe”. Rooms are actually sold for MORE EXPENSIVE than previously agreed. We also had our experiences in this hotel. Honesty looks different, guest-oriented behavior even more so. We enter this house "NO MORE".

Unfortunately we didn't like the price-performance ratio that much. The location is great and the beds are comfortable. Service is very friendly and helpful. You can have better and cheaper breakfast somewhere else for the price. The TV is tiny and the rooms are a little dated. It was ok for us for one night.

I booked a room in this hotel on August 22, 2024 at around 8:00 p.m., the manager gave me a price that suited me and I paid by card. Some sockets and light switches in the room didn't work. I left on August 23rd around 10:00 am. After checking the account, I saw that 705 euros were debited from it, which is much more than the amount quoted by the manager. A room for the night from August 24th to 25th can now be ordered on the website from 263 euros. The hotel refused to refund me even part of the money because Gamescom is taking place from August 21st to 25th and 705 euros per night is a normal price. Never pay by card at this hotel.

I was there for the first time last year. For me and my friends there is no discussion. We will book there again next year.

Shhönes Hotel, very good internet. The breakfast was very good, a lot of choice of food and you could see live how eggs etc. were being cooked/fried. There were enough parking spaces, the bathroom was fine, but the shower head was leaking and therefore the water pressure wasn't very high. Hotel to recommend

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately you need to pay 6€ additional to use small swimming pool. Room was big and clean. Breakfast has a bit of everything, only smoked salmon was missing ( so if you do not eat meat and dairy product), mhmm. Photos speak by themselves. 7min walking from Lanxess Arena, in front of Koeln Messe and stop of tram 14(each 10min). Very easy to reach by 14 the Dom

Location, staff and rooms were good. However, the bathroom had not been cleaned, and a bathtub with an old showerhead instead of a real shower is no longer appropriate. The hotel is quite old and doesn't seem to be being modernized.

A very nice hotel, great spa area, the water is unfortunately very cold. The employees are super nice and friendly. Very good beds. Breakfast has everything a person needs. I can recommend it 100%.

When I booked I asked for 2 single beds. This means to me 2 beds, so 2 people. I paid 384 euro. Which is a lot of money for 2 nights. When we arrived they told us we had to pay another 96 euro because I booked only for 1 person (not !) In the night I went to the reception as my friend was loud snoring and I couldn t sleep. I was asking for a small room or some simple room where I could sleep. They charged me another 156 euro for 2 nights!!! In the end I paid 640 euro for 2 nights !!!!! Crazy money. We asked where we could do welness. Again we had to pay extra ! It is all about money and no goodwill at all. The breakfast is good, but nobody told us that on Monday the breakfast is earlier then Sunday, so we were too late for breakfast ... I will not recommand this place to anyone anymore. Way to expensive ...

Close to the dance fountain and ideal for festival visitors. Breakfast is quite expensive at €30 per person.

We had a large suite over two floors. Furnishings are definitely a bit older, but everything is clean and well maintained. The welcome was friendly and we would like to come back. We didn't use breakfast.

It's a nice hotel, comfortable room. I missed a socket near the bed. Personally I'm not a fan of showering in the tub, but it worked. Breakfast rates are ridiculous in my opinion. Almost €30,- for a cup of coffee and a bowl of yoghurt is overrated. Parking rates could be less too, imo.

Unfortunately I can't give more stars... Because a hotel in this category simply requires good service and a certain level, which was unfortunately missing. It started at the reception during check-in. Apparently the lady who checked us in was still in training or learning. That in itself isn't bad, but an experienced colleague should simply listen and intervene if something is not correct. everything took longer, and important information simply wasn't given, such as when breakfast is, where breakfast is, whether there is Wi-Fi... We also had the SPA area activated and then perhaps you should give information on your own, how it is open, or how you even get there. On the first day we wanted to use the SPA area and go swimming. Since we didn't have the information that there was a specific elevator there, we just walked there in a detour. When we got downstairs we found ourselves standing in front of a locked door because our key card wasn't activated despite paying for the spa area... So we went all the way back to reception. This time there was a different employee at the reception. He then checked the cards again and opened them for the spa area. When we asked if there were towels down there, we responded with a quick yes, towels are downstairs. From our questions I think you could conclude that we hadn't used the spa area before. When we got back there, we read that you could get a bathrobe and locker key at reception... This information would have been nice before you were downstairs again. Simply annoying and unprofessional… Furthermore, it has to be said that you pay six euros for the spa area. That's not much in itself, but I still find it a disgrace, since you're simply paying over €200 for the room per night and then you should actually expect that the spa area is included and there's a bathrobe in the room... The rooms themselves are okay, but not a real highlight and the carpet is very old and could be replaced. Definitely not for allergy sufferers as it has a very high pile. At the checkout we met the same lady as at the check-in, and here too it becomes clear that she still has a lot to learn... I would simply expect that you would be asked if everything was okay, and perhaps that you would be wished a safe journey back and ideally someone says that it would be nice if they would visit us again or something like that. But absolutely nothing happened... The bottom line is a disappointment and not a recommendation.

Super location if you go to the Lanxess arena. It is easy to do on foot. Also to Altstadt. Tram at the door. Super clean rooms. Breakfast was expensive so I skipped it. Lidl is nearby.

Great Hotel in perfect location for the exhibition hall but nothing else. Fantastic leisure facilities, good food and staff all super helpful and friendly. Pity the costs were so high with the Euros on but would stay again for sure but book well in advance as 1700 euros for 3 nights was expensive by any standards

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is in very good condition. We particularly liked the rich breakfast. It would be good to label the foods here to make the choice easier for vegans.

The hotel is great. The rooms are very nicely decorated and have everything you need. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. I was there at a congress with an evening event and I often waited a long time for a Kölsch that I ordered. The Köbese were not the fastest kind. But otherwise everything was fine.

The hotel is absolutely central, very clean and well maintained, quiet, very nice staff. We felt totally comfortable and it will be the first choice when visiting Cologne in the future 💞

It was nice to stay here for some nights for IDS FAIR ....

New mattresses wouldn't be bad, but it was okay. Unfortunately I couldn't get another pillow. For me it was too high and too tight. Unfortunately, I didn't get another bottle of water for the second night. It is located directly at the eastern entrance to the trade fair and at the Deutz train station. The connections into the city by tram are very good. Logically, it's not very quiet, but the rooms have air conditioning.

I was at the Dorint Messe Cologne as the organizer of a symposium with over 200 participants and a large industrial forum. The event rooms were optimally and generously divided. The event service from Dorint was really very good. The entire team at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurants and also the breakfast were good. It's not a top hotel, but you really feel comfortable there. I'll be back and we'll hold a symposium there again. The transport connections are also good. Only a 10 minute walk to the nearest train station. THANK YOU to the entire Dorint-Messe-Cologne team for two wonderful days (April 29th + 30th, 2024)

So far completely fine. Only the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. And the €72 parking fees that you charge your own guests for two days of parking are borderline rip-off…

Good conference hotel. Good value for money

I was in Dorint for a 2-day conference. Stayed for 3 days. The hotel is upscale, the rooms are large, clean and well-equipped. The ladies at reception were very accommodating. The attached restaurant is also particularly recommended. Only the parking fees and breakfast are very expensive. The breakfast is at least extremely well equipped, but almost €30 is a lot. The parking garage, on the other hand, is large and in a great location. But the price is already quite high.

Less than 10 minutes walk to the lanxess arena, top rooms and service. Everything was very clean, gladly again.

We were traveling in Cologne for a weekend. The location was advantageous for us. Public transport with the S-Bahn is right outside the door. Our room was clean and functional. The bathroom is no longer up to date. The shower is integrated into the bathtub, which always poses a risk of falling. The mattresses are hard. Unfortunately it wasn't comfortable for me and when I asked, no solution could be found. (Tip for the hotel, such a mattress topper should be available upon request). There are rooms with toppers, but not in the standard category. The pool/wellness/fitness area is very nice and the extra charge of €6/room per stay was worth it. Personally, I find hotel breakfast for €28/person too expensive. We therefore preferred to have breakfast outside of the house. The food in the hotel restaurant in the evening was good and reasonably priced.

CLEANLINESS - very good throughout. BREAKFAST OFFER - very good. ROOM SIZE - good. BED - excellent. BATHROOM - standard amenities, but showerheads really could use an update. FRIDGE - a small , unstocked one. ROOM SAFE - yes, and good. WARDROBES - ample space. ELECTRICITY SOCKETS - plentiful for business travellers. INTERNET - Unsecured and delivered up to 40 Mbps, but was far too tempermental too often. EXTRAS - desk and lounge chair.

Large and comfortable room, unacceptable to find mice walking around undisturbed in the restaurant and also unacceptable that there is no fresh orange juice in the breakfast.

Location very good. Breakfast well stocked and something for everyone. In the evening in the restaurant there are very good steaks at normal prices. staff super friendly.

Guest at a conference. Sit in the lounge a bit hidden where no one else is to briefly go through my talk. Someone comes and asks what kind of drink I want: No, thanks. Just sit here for a few minutes. Well, sir, you have to order a drink here. Then we just changed places, nice and pointless. Weird for a hotel of this class.

At breakfast, the individual dishes could be labeled directly and not a blackboard for a complete section. Location is easily accessible, rooms are nice and big, I would have preferred a shower instead of the bathtub, but that's complaining at a high level. Gladly again!

Attentive service staff even in less frequented areas. Used dishes are quickly cleared away followed by an inquiry as to whether the guest's wishes have been fulfilled. The different vegetables offered were prepared very tasty and allowed meat to be avoided as the main decoration on the plate.

A perfect location just opposite the Cologne Messe and a few minutes from Train station Koeln Messe plus only 5mins from Lanxness Arena quite convenient as we had an event there. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very good breakfast with lost of options. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

The pricing policy, especially for breakfast, should be reconsidered. €29 per person borders on usury. 15-20€ is the normal price in this hotel category. The hotel room (especially the bathroom) is in need of renovation. However, the location to the trade fair or arena is great.

If you have something to do at the trade fair, the hotel is the first choice. Unfortunately, the parking situation is mixed: This means that if a concert or other event takes place upon arrival, you have drawn the A card. Unless you are there very, very early. If you typically arrive early in the evening, you might find yourself stuck in traffic to the hotel, only to have the (full) sign light up at the parking garage:( Anyone who has managed to get a spot won't be going out the next day... But the hotel/breakfast is really nice!!

It was a great stay, the hotel staff was very nice, what wasn't so good was the pillows but that's also because I don't like the pillows.

Perfect location near Messe and station. A duplex room with narrow staircase. Beautiful, but impractical to carry luggage to bedroom on first floor, a narrow staircase. Room size above average for Europe. Decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice on-site restaurant. BUT......very very poor wifi throughout the building!!!

Typical business hotel with hundreds of rooms, the location (in front of the Koelnmesse fair) makes it absolutely perfect for those who go to the fair for work. The rooms are large, clean and with every necessary comfort, the bathtub is particularly appreciated as it knows how to relax after a whole day spent at the fair. The breakfast is truly vast and complete with everything you can think of. The only downside is the cost of a drink at the bar, €11 for a bitter is really too much.

Great location right across from the Koelnmesse convention center. Rooms are nice, but showers were pretty subpar. Water pressure and temperature was all over the place. The restaurant and bar in the main level were very good.

Been to the trade fair and was very close to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The service was very friendly and helpful. Only the television should be mounted on the wall and therefore higher so that you can see better from bed.

Carnival session at Dorint was “super”

We were there for 1 night to attend an event. The superior room was large, clean and the beds were comfortable. However, the wellness area is a bit cold and the water in the pool is icy. The saunas are good. The breakfast is reasonable, but I think it costs almost 30 euros per person. Too expensive. We were able to park without any problems. Check in and check out super friendly
