A very solid Italian restaurant! We went here before going to the Deutsche Oper. We received a very warm welcome. I personally had the Salzimbocca and was very happy with my choice. The restaurant itself is a bit dated in terms of design. The food and service are really good. Highly recommended!

My wife and I are from Stuttgart and wanted to visit Berlin. We were in the mood for Italian food and discovered this restaurant. The service was very friendly and welcoming, and we were frequently asked if everything was alright. They were very attentive when we finished eating! The food was sensational! The appetizer, main course, and especially the dessert were all excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant. If we ever visit Berlin again, we know exactly where we'll be eating. Kudos to the kitchen and the service! 🫶🏻

Good for a hearty meal before enjoying high-culture performances at the Deutsche Oper. Friendly staff and delicious food. Prices are a bit higher, though. The interior ambiance is very pleasing. The ashtrays by the urinals were particularly impressive. Unfortunately, outdoor seating is only available on the main street. But it's not a big deal.

Suggestive environment, very professional service, but the pizza definitely looked like a ready-made frozen pizza (I'll be told "what do you expect at 11pm - to which I reply: a restaurant that cares about its reputation would have told me that the pizza wasn't available instead of boasting it was very good) and the wine (an unidentified Chianti) wasn't even remotely worth the price. I won't be returning

I have to be honest, I found the staff and everything else very nice but the carbonara disappointed me… It was delicious, yes, but it was definitely not a carbonara 😞 I would still go again to eat something different

For me the best Italian in Berlin. I have never been disappointed here and have been eating at Don Giovanni regularly for around 12 years. The food is really fantastic, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is always great. In fact, you can almost always get a parking space within a short walking distance. Absolute recommendation!

Plates not preheated, food served lukewarm, veal medallions were not particularly tender. Supplements poor. 31.90 EUR for that? Price/performance absolutely not justified. Loud waitress, rooms and toilets are outdated. No longer up to date. Too bad.

Food clearly overpriced for the quality. And be careful with the billing - a little too much is always charged. Cappucino on the menu €3.80. €4 at the checkout. Small scam - but scam. I'm not going there again. The food is mediocre - just a normal Italian. Various desserts were supposed to be served at a Christmas party - strangely enough, there was only the usual one. And the service is intentionally friendly.

I didn't think you could run a restaurant with totally soft cooked noodles drowning in cream sauces. There were three of us. Everyone had a different pasta dish. We could have done this better as laypeople. In this respect, the prices were disproportionate to the quality of the food. I won't go there a second time. Too bad. The service ladies were extremely nice.

Nice atmosphere, good value for money and good quality food. We had vitello tonnato and mozzarella as starters - both recommended and then pasta dishes: pasta pollo with mushrooms and penne with fillet tips. There was no explosion in taste, but everything was delicious and of good quality! Dessert was also OK. What should be highlighted is the extremely friendly service that takes care of the guest and does its job with a lot of dedication and friendliness. Prices completely fine and reasonable. Gladly again.

We ended up there - as tourists - last weekend looking for a restaurant with EM-TV broadcasts and were thrilled in every respect. Good food in decent portions and great service staff. So good that we went there twice more on the following days because it was conveniently located for our accommodation. Lamb fillet, pasta with green pesto, pizza... simply good and delicious! Absolute recommendation!

The lamb fillet was excellent and tender. It would have been 5 stars, but the tiramisu tastes stale after at least a week.

I passed this restaurant and wanted to visit for ages. That day came when my friends were visiting. The interior is really beautiful and catching an eye. The staff were really friendly. We were with a small kid, they immediately got us a kid chair without asking. The food situation was bad. At first we asked for tap water, they didn't have it so they suggested a bottle of water, we didn't check the price, because "how much the water could cost?". It was 7.5eur for a 750ml bottle, that's ridiculous. Glass of cola was 5eur I think. Pasta with beef (18eur) mediocre. Pizzas were okay nothing special each 14eur. Overpriced place with average food. Never again.

Well-known Berlin restaurant with predominantly Italian cuisine. Very nice staff, appealing ambience, food for every taste, reasonable prices in the German Opera area. If there is an opera evening, reservation is necessary.

I'm very disappointed, especially since I was expecting something good after all the good reviews. It started right away with the drinks. The cherry juice spritzer tasted like almost nothing, and definitely not like cherries. The apple spritzer was okay, tasted like it came from a bottle from the supermarket. The pizza rolls served were cold and therefore tough and tasteless. This continued through the meal. I had the Ravioli Maremmani in butter parmesan cream, filled with ricotta and spinach. The butter-parmesan cream mentioned wasn't creamy at all, it was rather grainy and was reminiscent of ready-made sauce from a bucket. In addition, there was far too much of it on the plate, which meant that the finished taste overwhelmed everything. The ravioli dough didn't taste like anything, and the filling wasn't much better. Apart from a little spiciness, no taste. Also worth mentioning is the quantity, it was just enough to keep me full for half an hour. One of my friends had the Don Giovanni pizza, with ham, salami, pepperoni, artichokes and mushrooms. The pizza was pale and looked very sad. The dough was as tasteless as the ingredients on it, and it was limp and soft. The pepperoni was sweet rather than spicy and artichokes were hard to find. So the prices are way too high. The service was tried hard. All in all a very disappointing experience, the restaurant is overrated.

Solid Italian Ristorante, good pizzas, but also very appetizing main courses. Prices are ok for the location. Lunch menu (2 menus to choose from) fairly calculated and just the right portions. Staff without exception friendly and very prompt. The ambience seems outdated, but it fits well and is also spotlessly clean. Overall recommended!

I understand the cult status and the convenient proximity to the opera. But honestly: the now shabby furnishings - sagging sofas with dangerously protruding and bent springs that smell strange - yellowed photos of celebrities carelessly taped to a coat rack, strange dust catchers and bizarre wallpaper that is also stuck under the ceiling etc. The service is very nice and courteous, no question. Unfortunately the food is terrible. We had pizza (tasteless yellow cheese stuck together pieces of carrots and other vegetables on a dough that was still raw in the middle. Zero salt, vegetables literally tasted like nothing), tiramisu (it was okay, until it suddenly tasted like parmesan in the last few centimeters) , pasta was al dente in places, cooked to death in places (on a plate!), and whatever sauce that was. Wine was average, cappuccino and espresso tasted strange, etc. There were several of us, no one liked it. This is not Italian cuisine. And it's too expensive for that and the charm of West Berlin, which sank after the fall of the Wall, just doesn't add up. That's such a pity!

We had to wait a long time for our food, despite the long wait the food was mediocre. We ordered two pasta dishes and two pizzas, the pizzas were very bland in taste and some were too salty. The pasta dishes were similar, the spaghetti with scampi was very salty and far too dry, the pasta com funghi was okay, but it had an unseasoned taste, no salt, no pepper, nothing. Despite everything, the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. (Prices way too high)

Good Italian restaurant. Good quality food and drinks. Price high but reasonable.

Die Einrichtung besteht aus vielen Instrumenten und antik wirkenden Couchs. Die Tische waren schön eingedeckt, die Speisekarte reichhaltig und das Essen lecker. Preislich ist das Lokal etwas gehobener, was hauptsächlich auf die Lage zurückzuführen ist. Die Pizzen waren allerdings schön groß.

Waren vor paar Tagen da aber können es nicht empfehlen.. Service war wirklich super freundlich!! Aber das Essen für den Preis ähm ja... war nicht besonders gut.. Wartezeit bis sie in die Gänge kommen sehr lahm obwohl der Laden zu unseren Besuch tot leer war.. Toiletten könnten auch mal ordentlich geputzt werden!! Klodeckel so eklig dreckig, Spinnen, Staub..... Ambiente ist Geschmacksache hat mir aber nicht gefallen, könnte mal frisch gemacht werden die Ausstattung

Wir waren das zweite mal in diesem Restaurant. Am 1.Weihnschtstag. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 6 Personen und wurden sehr verwöhnt. Alle, von uns ausgewählten, Speisen waren von sehr guter Qualität. Das Personal ist fast unsichtbar aber immer sofort präsent wenn es einen Wunsch unsererseits gab. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis da Gast gewesen zu sein. Danke

Wir haben dieses fantastische Restaurant über die App Neotaste entdeckt und waren absolut begeistert von unserem Besuch. Das Ambiente ist äußerst gemütlich und besonders bei den winterlich kalten Temperaturen draußen war es drinnen wunderbar warm und einladend. Was das Essen betrifft, waren wir mehr als zufrieden – es war schlichtweg köstlich. Hier findet man keine übertrieben teuren oder hipsterartigen Gerichte, sondern klassische Speisen, die jedoch auf einem außergewöhnlich hohen Niveau zubereitet werden. Die Pasta war al dente gekocht und die Sauce aus frischen Tomaten schmeckte angenehm saftig und aromatisch. Die Pizza überzeugte mit frischen Pilzen und einem unwiderstehlich leckeren Teig. Besonders beeindruckt waren wir von den Brotsticks im Brotkorb, die zusammen mit den Oliven serviert wurden. Ein gutes Olivenöl zum Dippen hätte das Geschmackserlebnis noch perfektioniert. Das Highlight des Abends war jedoch die äußerst zuvorkommende, aufmerksame und höfliche Bedienung. Ihr Service hat unseren Besuch noch angenehmer gemacht. Wir freuen uns schon darauf, bald wieder vorbeizuschauen und weitere Gaumenfreuden zu erleben. Dieses Restaurant ist definitiv eine Empfehlung wert für all diejenigen, die klassische Gerichte auf höchstem Niveau genießen möchten.

This Italian restaurant is somewhat on the borderline between normal/average and good. The dishes are ok but not out of this world obviously. If you are hungry and want to just have a quick bite, this would work for you.
