A beautiful setting in a historic building in a central location near the Old Town Hall. The owners offer Italian-style hospitality and prompt, timely service. Chef Vito carefully presents dishes with meticulous attention to detail, but above all, the food is excellent. I recommend anyone visiting Leipzig to spend a few hours relaxing in the dining room and enjoying wholesome conviviality.

The food was excellent. The quality and taste were superb. We had bruschetta, carpaccio, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffles, and pizza. Everything tasted great. The service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside. We will definitely return on our next visit to Leipzig.

Unfortunately, very mediocre quality, has nothing to do with Italian food

The food was solid, but the timing was unfortunately off. When I asked when the food would arrive after 45 minutes, there was no apology or information about the whereabouts of the food. Overall, the service seemed rather lackluster, which doesn't do the food justice.

Nice and large selection of food and drinks, very tasty pizzas, staff is friendly, ambiance is pleasantly Italian and appropriate (except for the autumn and winter decorations in the summer).

The Margherita pizza was very tasty, but the sauce could have used a bit more seasoning. The mozzarella caprese was also very good, but the olive oil could have been better. The waitress was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant in the cozy alleyway.

A weekend in Leipzig, Saturday evening, 8 p.m. It was very busy and busy. The service and staff were very friendly and polite. The food was the worst we've had in a long time. It was careless, unseasoned, and cheaply made. We come from a small town, and the Italian food there is 10 times more lovingly prepared and better. Conclusion! We won't be back.

The table and chairs had to be moved a bit due to the paving in that area. The food, however, was excellent! Seafood pizza and a calzone. The price was great! And the quality was great, too. The dough was great, the pizza topping and the calzone filling were great! We'll eat here again on our next visit to Leipzig.

The food wasn't good, it wasn't freshly prepared. My sea bream had bile stains, the vegetables were drenched in oil, and the potatoes looked and tasted like they'd been reheated several times. I would have been better off with a pizza; it looked delicious at the next table.

If you like bad food and lousy service, this is the place for you. Four of us were here and we were treated to grumpy service, undercooked pizza, and overcooked pasta. For me, it's clear: Never again!

Despite no reservation and arriving during peak dinner time, we still managed to get a table. The wine and food were simple but of the highest quality and incredibly delicious, and the staff, despite the rush, were always friendly and prompt. Don't be fooled by the looks; this is a quality Italian restaurant with Michelin-starred cuisine. Whenever we come to Leipzig, we'll always be happy to stop by.

Since my girlfriend really wanted to eat there, I went with her, and all I can say is, it was a complete disappointment. The service was so unfriendly and lackluster that I didn't even want to eat there. The starter was okay, the pizza was cold. I don't understand the good reviews at all, and my initial bad feeling was confirmed in every respect. I can't recommend this restaurant with such poor service.

Unfortunately, the staff is very inattentive. Half of the Schöpfer Minestrone, which tastes nothing, is served at the same lukewarm temperature as the wheat beer, and the fact that the rest of the order is completely lost and its absence goes unnoticed, even though the manager and staff walk past the table every 30 seconds... absolutely unacceptable!

Das war lieblos angerichtet . Es sollte ein Risotte mit Meeresfrüchten und fruchtiger Tomatensauce werden. Es gab einen Teller mit gräulich , liebloser angerichteter Maße. In dem Risotto befanden sich zwei Garnelen und ein paar Shrimps. Zusätzlich unter dem Risotto gemischt, leere Muschelschalen. Geschmacklich hat es ebenfalls nicht überzeugt. Die Aussage des Kellners: „ja, sonst sehen die Teller anders aus, aber wir arbeiten ja schon seit heute Mittag.“ Nicht gerade Gastfreundlich. Ähnlich sah es bei anderen Speisen aus. Die Portionen waren sehr übersichtlich und die Kartoffeln zum Rinderfilet teilweise schwarz verbrannt. Das Lokal ist leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Very nice restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. Absolutely fantastic food… due to the gymnastics festival taking place in the city this weekend, it was very busy.

We had a very good meal in this somewhat dull-decorated restaurant. The antipasti mare was excellent, and the pasta with pistachios was also excellent. The wine by the glass clearly has room for improvement.

I visited the restaurant based on a positive review and decided on the carbonara - unfortunately that was a mistake. The sauce had a very intense egg taste and was overall rather bitter. I suspect that the pasta was too cold and the egg couldn't set properly - unfortunately that spoiled the taste of the whole dish. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to it.

I ordered a carbonara, it was the BEST I've ever eaten, made with guanciale ham and love. This Italian cooks traditionally and is absolutely recommended. The service was great, I'll definitely be back.

Upstairs is a little noisy, downstairs is nicer. However, it’s a good place to have dinner, for example, in the evening.

Wir waren zu Zweit auf der Suche nach einem etwas ruhigeren Ambiente nach dem Besuch des recht vollen Weihnachtsmarkt. Das ist uns durch Zufall gelungen 😀 Im Don Camillo e Peppone wurden sehr nett begrüßt und haben köstliche Vorspeisen und eine echte sehr gute Carbonara verspeist. Ein wirklich rundum gelungener Abend in dieser sehr authentischen Osteria! Grazie mille e buon natale

We held our Christmas party here today. The Don Camillo is a very cozy and well-kept restaurant. We had a table on the first floor. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired and we were often left high and dry. We then had to ask the waiter in the kitchen, who was otherwise quite nice. The amount of fillet alla Gorgonzola I ordered was manageable, the steak was good, but the vegetables and potatoes were almost completely burnt so I only ate a little of it. This burning smell always wafted through the room, which we found annoying. I told this to the waiter and he said he says it in the kitchen. Unfortunately nothing more happened. To be honest, I haven't had such a bad meal for 31.90 euros in a long time. The Vitello tonato was solid and the recommended wines were very pleasant. Overall, there are better Italians in Leipzig. It's better not to order a steak.😌

Very tasty pizzas, nice service

I'm not usually a fan of Italian food, but here it tastes excellent (spaghetti bolognese). Special requests such as "extra spicy" are well catered for, the service is very friendly and the seating is wonderful. Price surprisingly good for the location.

Unfortunately, we didn't have much time, but thanks to the very nice and courteous service, the Italian ambience and the very tasty food, we unexpectedly had another vacation in Italy moment. Thank you for that! Special recommendation: the pizza bread!

Pizza burnt on the edge, dough relatively tasteless. Overall ok, but wouldn't come back. The spaghetti from the special menu only tasted like tomatoes and nothing else. Based on the fairly good rating of 4.1 stars, it's rather disappointing.

A consistently bad pizza!! A doughy edge that is far too large, but the base is far too thin, soggy and mushy. The topping was concentrated in the middle, so maybe half was filled. Mushrooms and ham of the lowest quality. You can get away better at any street sale!

Fantastic Beef Tartare, with ingenious Parmesan Taco to keep it all in place and with a Truffle kick. The Argentinian fillet was cooked to perfection - rare as every fillet should be! The Gorgonzola sauce was a very good addition. Very happy with the service, good wines. The place looks newly refurbished and classy, very high ceilings give excellent atmosphere. Would recommend!!

So it's a nice restaurant, but the portions are far too small, which meant I wasn't full (I'm a bad eater) and therefore the price-performance ratio is not guaranteed. You should already be full and when the waitress asked if we wanted to order and we said we would like to wait a little longer, we got a reaction with a blur of eyes. Not really customer friendly.

Fast ordering, slow service. The waitress only said after 36 minutes that there were no pistachios, so we ordered again: Pizza Italia. Current waiting time: 1h15min.Very average pizza, could have used a little longer in the oven, doesn't seem like a stone oven. The Italia had a little less than a teaspoon of very watery Petso on it. In this case, “On the Italia” only means on the Burrata. All in all, perhaps an isolated case but not recommended for the high prices.
