Don Camillo & Peppone in Leipzig

Tasted good, but far too little, and my food was brutally hot. That from a friend is almost cold. Simply brutal tourist trap

Fast ordering, slow service. The waitress only said after 36 minutes that there were no pistachios, so we ordered again: Pizza Italia. Current waiting time: 1h15min.Very average pizza, could have used a little longer in the oven, doesn't seem like a stone oven. The Italia had a little less than a teaspoon of very watery Petso on it. In this case, “On the Italia” only means on the Burrata. All in all, perhaps an isolated case but not recommended for the high prices.

Best italian food in Leipzig, the staff was very friendly and attentive. 100% recommended.

Okay, of course, downtown, tourism... but... So the carbonara looked better in the pictures, maybe the chef had a bad day. There was nothing creamy about it. Too bad. And for the price (yes, city center) it's disappointing... Maybe a pizza instead...

I was today in this restaurant with my wife and my son. We take two pizzas and one spaghetto carbonara, that was by the way delicious. Service was friendly and food was Amazing. Good choice

We were very satisfied with our visit. The food was delicious (we had the pasta with beef fillet tips and bruschetta as a starter), plus drinks. The service quick and polite. Price-performance ratio top. The only point of criticism... The corner of the table was dirty and was not changed or cleaned. We did this ourselves as best we could. Therefore points deducted here..

Not recommendable. Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience there. Despite the fact that there wasn't much going on, the staff was annoyed and unapproachable, the plates were all chipped and badly "repaired" and the food was poorly seasoned and poorly presented. I had lunch at Don Camillo, I really liked the atmosphere and the quick service. The drink arrived promptly and cold. I waited a bit for the pizza but it was worth it, also because there were already quite a few people. I'll be back

In the middle of the chic hotspot of Leipzig. You probably don't have to make a particularly good effort to receive guests. The food was a total disappointment. Vegetables still almost frozen, fish not cooked through, everything cold and pretty tasteless. There is definitely a lack of love for the job. the food is ok, the service was quick. Our plates were broken, a no go for a restaurant! and the billing was incorrect. When I wanted to see the bill, the service person mentioned that they had overcharged. there was no apology. I've already left her a generous tip, but there's really no need to sneak out more tips like that. we won't come again!

The service was very friendly. Unfortunately we didn't like the food (except for the starter). The starter was a WGT special. The margherita was very bad (very hard, salty and slightly burnt). The tomato soup didn't have a nice flavor either. The coffee was bitter.

We were visiting Leipzig today and wanted to have a really good time. So we decided on an Italian restaurant. We ordered a salad and a pizza. The salad was anything but what we expected. A strip of pepper, a slice of onion, half a tomato and the rest consisted of huge lettuce leaves that were just supposed to make the plate look full. The price is outrageously expensive for what you get served. The pizza arrived at the table so carelessly prepared and was absolutely nothing special (Pizza Tirolo €16). Advertised with smoked cheese and special ham (absolute opposite was served and very disappointing. We advise against a visit to this restaurant.

We were disappointed with the restaurant, the food and the drinks. The location of the restaurant is good. You can watch the scene in front of the restaurant while eating. The beer served was undrinkable. The smell clearly indicated it. My red wine Montepulciano was flat in taste. The mixed antipasti were okay. The noodles were either cooked too long or too short The lasagne was only lukewarm. The service was fine. There are much better restaurants in Leipzig. A visit is not recommended.

At first glance the restaurant looked very inviting and good. The other guests' food also seemed appealing. The menu is manageable, well sorted and generally offers fair prices. As an aperitif I had a Negroni. Unfortunately, this one probably had water in the recipe instead of gin. That can happen, but it's not that bad. We ordered two pizzas. After 50 minutes I asked if they had forgotten our order since all the guests around us had already gotten food. After much back and forth we were told that the chef had burned the pizza and he could now start with a new one. We didn't want to wait any longer for 15 minutes and paid. Basically it's not a bad thing and it can happen sometimes. However, I found the treatment of us as guests very unpleasant, as there was only a short "sorry" and nothing else was done to keep us as customers. I think we would have waited the time with, for example, a little something at the expense of the house, but because we were hungry and had to deal with it, we went somewhere else. We won't be coming back either, as the range of good restaurants in Leipzig is simply too large to offer something like that. A pity.

We were there on Valentine's Day and we really enjoyed it. The decoration was really very romantic and the table was beautifully set. The service was very polite and accommodating. The food tasted delicious. The only small criticism is that the portions could be a little larger. All in all the visit was very nice.

An extraordinary culinary experience! The Spaghetti al Pomodoro was delicious, perfect consistency and authentic taste. The atmosphere in the restaurant radiated cosiness and created a welcoming atmosphere. The chef showed exceptional talent in adding a gourmet twist to traditional Italian dishes, such as adding chopped pistachios, which made the meal truly unique. The waitress service was impeccable, professional and helped make the entire experience even more memorable. A restaurant that can be recommended without a doubt!

When we came at 7:30 p.m. there were only two guests there besides us. That should have given us something to think about straight away. The dining room was very cold. Spaghetti Bolognese was okay. The dish of the day too. But the lasagne is an imposition: about 10 × 10 cm, looks like the frozen lasagne and unfortunately tastes the same and was also cold at the table. Wine also very mediocre.

Auch wenn wir ein Missverständnis hatten mit der Platzbuchung, hatten wir dennoch die Möglichkeit bekommen zu essen und zu trinken. Der Service war super und absolut zu vorkommend. Es schmeckte großartig und hatte eine angenehme ruhige Atmosphäre. Ich komme deswegen immer wieder gern her!

Das Restaurant liegt etwas abseits der hektischen Innenstadt. Pasta und Pizzen war sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Getränke und Speisen wurden sehr schnell serviert. Die Preise waren gut. Wir werden bei einem Aufenthalt in Leipzig gerne wieder hier Essen.

Nettes kleines Restaurant in guter Lage. Meine Carbonara war für den Preis gut. Das Personal war sehr nett und unsere Bedienung hat sich viel mühe gegeben, allerdings bekam einer meiner Freunde den Hauptgang schon geliefert als er noch seine Vorspeise gegessen hat. Der Kellner hat sich im Nachhinein für sein unterstützendes Personal entschuldigt und den Hauptgang meines Freundes nochmal erwärmt.

Das schlechteste ital. Restaurant, was mir je untergekommen ist. Das Essen war eine Katastrophe. Die Portionen (Pasta) waren alle sehr klein (gilt auch für die Vorspeisen) und der Hauptgang nicht heiß. Lauwarme Nudeln, kaum Fleisch und die Pizza war fast kalt und nicht durchgebacken. Die Preise waren ok, aber an jedem Imbiss hätte es wahrscheinlich besser geschmeckt. In keinster Weise zu empfehlen. Fachkräfte sind schwer zu finden, aber mit dem Küchenpersonal tut sich das Restaurant keinen Gefallen.....

In diesem Restaurant wird man als Gast nicht freundlich begrüßt wenn man den Laden betrifft, sondern man wird erstmal ruppig angemacht ob man den eine Reservierung hätte. Da wir vorher schon bei 2 anderen Italiener abgewiesen wurden (was diese sehr freundlich taten) war uns das egal, denn wir wollten endlich was essen. Leider war auch das Essen eher ein Reinfall. Der Pizzateig war nicht durch und die Thunfischpizza war sehr mager belegt. Auf etwa einem Viertel war sogar gar kein Thunfisch. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nicht weiter empfehlen.

Am Nachbartisch gab es 6 Scheiben für 2 Personen - ungefragt direkt zum Hauptgang. Pizza am Nachbartisch sah ansprechend aus. Tiramisu völlig lieblos zubereitet - ganz geringer Geschmack. Espresso Schulnote 1!👍🏻

Gute, italienische Küche. Mit dem Personal gab es erst ein bisschen Verständigungsschwierigkeiten, aber es klärte sich schnell alles. Freundlich waren aber alle. Focaccia war perfekt, Salat sehr gut abgestimmt.
