Dome Döner in Köln

I went there thinking it was a place owned by Podolski, but unfortunately it was the worst döner kebab I've ever had in Germany. The staff were extremely careless and there were hygiene problems, unfortunately.

Absolutely not recommended!!!!!! The staff are absolutely rude and unprofessional!!!! The counter staff mock you. They even think they're so clever and funny that they think you won't notice!!!! They make fun of and insult their own customers!!!!!! This is not a good place!!!!! Avoid at all costs!!!!

The meat was still raw. The customer complained, and the seller responded disrespectfully.

Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. I actually wanted a salad with meat, but they charged me for a doner kebab with fries instead. When I asked about it, all I got was the answer: "It's your own fault if you don't want fries." That's completely unacceptable – a very unfriendly way of treating customers. Furthermore, I couldn't stand the doner meat at all; the meat was probably not fresh and didn't taste good either. Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend it.

Three men were standing behind the counter. They paid us no attention at all. Neither a greeting nor a polite inquiry about our order. Just minutes of indifference? At the same time, a total of five people were waiting in the shop for their food and/or, along with the staff, for the doner meat to crisp up on the skewer. So it couldn't have been overcrowding...but it couldn't have been our fault either? The three of us (father, son, and girlfriend) had come home from the concert sober and were actually looking forward to a Podolski doner. After a while, we simply left without comment...There was no further response. Charging €10.50 for a simple dürüm - without any hospitality? You'd be more welcome at any Turkish doner stand and probably better off in the end.

I haven't eaten anything today; I'm constantly working and traveling. It was 9:30 p.m. when I placed the order. I told them, "Please put in lots of meat," which they did, and gave me a fries with mayo and ketchup. That's the Cologne people ❤️, a great image boost. I'll never forget it 👍

Unfortunately, the customer service was very poor. After waiting for over 10 minutes, we received two dürüm with raw chicken – that's completely unacceptable. If we had asked, we could have gotten new ones, but that would have taken another half hour. It wasn't an option, as we had to catch our train. A (partial) refund was out of the question for the store. So, 19 euros 'for free' – if they need it. Absolutely terrible customer service...

It was the meal I was most satisfied with after 5 days on the European tour at the Cologne stop. The döner was delicious. I especially thank Muhhyittin for his attention and help. I recommend it to everyone.

Unfortunately, this is the third time I've been disappointed. The store seems to be focused solely on tourists, and regular customers are falling by the wayside. The bread tasted stale, the meat portion was significantly reduced, and it was a mix of veal and chicken, even though I specifically ordered only veal. The sauce is still delicious, but that alone isn't enough anymore. For me, this was definitely my last visit to this branch.

We came from Türkiye and decided to eat something familiar, but the meat wasn't tasty at all. Don't compare it to anything in Turkey. The reason it's so filling is because they add whatever salads and other items they can find. Finally, the staff doesn't even look at you. I don't recommend it at all.

Very unfriendly staff. They skimped on everything on the doner kebab plate, and the meat on the kebab was very low. And then my kebab was taken away and simply thrown away. There were 12 of us there, and the staff were rude. NEVER AGAIN.

Friendly staff. The meat is delicious, the salad is fresh, and the sauce (spicy in my case) is perfect! The only negative: the bread. It tasted good in and of itself, but unfortunately it wasn't crispy at all and was almost a bit chewy. At €8.50, however, it's simply too expensive.

2 stars for the inconsistency. Some rare moments I get a got sandwich wich is tasty and frish and sometimes I get the leftover from meet that has been cut and set god know how long and already cold. Friendly staff though

Was there for the first time today and I have to say I am not satisfied at all. Fries and meat were both cold and the sauce only tasted of dill. At least the guys there were very friendly.

Unique – this is the first cartilage lahmacun with extra sauce I've ever eaten. The taste was decent, and the crunchiness especially won me over. I won't be having it again, but: come on, come on!

Rarely have I eaten such a bad "Döner", only minced meat

Ate here because we didn't have much time left. Food is fine in itself, but the man who takes the orders is impatient and keeps shouting. Otherwise a rather lackluster place. Tip: a portion of fries is very large so if you are with two, 1 portion of fries is more than enough.

Unfortunately, Mangal Döner is no longer what it once was. In my opinion, things have changed significantly for the worse. The bread was freshly baked and was used directly for our kebab. The bread then completely crumbled and made the kebab completely unstable - you could hardly grab it without everything falling apart. The sauces are also a big problem: the recipe for the cocktail or hot sauce seems to have been changed. The hot sauce in particular didn't taste convincing at all - it was more reminiscent of warm tomato sauce for spaghetti, which was really inedible. Overall, the overall result was disappointing. We also had to ask for a bag ourselves and mention some things several times so that they were implemented. Not good service, not good food. Very disappointing.

I think the name has changed to barbecue doner. No bad. The price is enough for the performance.

I've always wanted to have a Döner at a Lukas Podolski Döner shop. And this experience didn't disappoint. The location right next to the Cologne Dom, the sizeable portions and fresh ingredients, not to mention the friendly and forthcoming staff. All round a great Döner experience.

Unfortunately the worst kebab I've ever eaten. Sauce was rather sour, hot sauce was not edible, meat was cold and there was no cheese despite ordering. I hope I get my money back from Lieferando, I've never eaten so badly in my life.

Were there yesterday with the family. Unfortunately, pure disappointment. We have eaten at Poldi's elsewhere several times and have always been satisfied so far. Store was overcrowded. There is no service at all. 3x Dürüm 1x kebab 2x Ayran 2x Sprite just under €45 Doner kebab and bread for all 4 menus were really cold. Unfortunately it didn't taste like anything. I will avoid this branch in the future.

Unfortunately disappointing. The quality does not correspond to the level of a good Mangal kebab. The employees are very economical with the filling, the kebab was barely filled. I've been there twice and thought it was a blip the first time. But the same result on the second visit. Unfortunately, no further visit for me.

We were day tourists in Cologne and in addition to a delicious detour to the chocolate museum, we wanted to try the Poldi kebab...... My son, 7, and I were totally thrilled.... great service, freshness in all areas, whether salad, fries and meat, all top quality.... Large portions, very seasoned... The staff was really very friendly and helpful... highly recommended, we'll come back again

About the kebab: The kebab is much too small for 7.90 - you can get it in Aachen, for example. Double for the price. The quality of the meat is nothing special. You can eat it but it's far too puny for the price. About the store: It was so dirty in the store, there was leftover food under every table. You don't even get a plate when you eat there. The leftover food simply falls on the table or under the table and stays there. CONCLUSION: NASTY STORE AND TOO SMALL DÖNER FOR THE MONEY

It is a tiny restaurant that serves donors. It is within walking distance of the main train station in Cologne. I had a dürum, but unfortunately, it was cold. However, the staff, who are of Turkish origin, were very friendly and welcoming. According to the certificates displayed on their glass, they serve Halal food.

Unfortunately not a good memory of this store. Somehow you notice that it has become mass-produced for the customer. The kebab fell apart, the bread was so brittle and of poor quality and the meat and sauces weren't good either. I hadn't eaten a kebab as bad as today in years, so Podolski should think about whether the concept is still coherent. PRICE / PERFORMANCE full next to it.

We ate a kebab on the day of departure because my friend really wanted to eat the one from Poldi. The taste was okay, I've had better ones. What really annoyed me was that I didn't receive a receipt upon request (empty receipts came out, I'm assuming that nothing is actually printed, even though receipts are mandatory and the tax office wants to know everything!) and I paid more , as ordered, so be careful when paying! Ambience standard overcrowding, since it's right next to the main station and cathedral. If I'm in Cologne again, I'll try the Heumarkt location, it's supposed to be better and also looks more hygienic.

My kebab was slightly above average, the meat was very tender. Praise: If you order spicy, you will get spicy. In addition, the staff was really friendly and at 10 p.m. in the evening everything in the displays still seems fresh. Otherwise, standard products that are available everywhere are sold. This no longer attracts many new customers. Some kebab shops, especially in the Ruhr area, are doing it more cleverly through innovations and new (taste) ideas.

Its name has changed. Not the last doner. Barbeque doner changed his name to Lukas Podolski. The doner kebabs are really delicious and big. Almost for two people. The average bread roll costs 8-9 Euros. Service costs 13-16 Euros. The employees are talkative and friendly. Thank you. I advise. You can get a better taste of the meat by adding less sauce. I forgot to take a picture of the meal.

I was at the Mangal Döner at the cathedral with a colleague and we ordered two doner kebabs to take away. We then only walked for about 2 minutes to the cathedral and sat down on a bench to eat the kebabs. Much to our dismay, the meat in our kebabs was ice cold, as if it had come straight from the freezer. It was so disgusting we couldn't finish it. I usually like to go to Mangal Döner in Weidengasse, where everything has always been great. But the kebab at Mangal am Dom was really terrible. Very disappointing and definitely not what I expected from this chain.

We ate and ate and couldn't get enough. I wish we had 4 stomachs so we could throw this delicious taste into a few more stomach compartments. They further increased the pleasure of our taste buds with their unique sour ayran. It was sour and delicious, like the ayran made in villages in the past. Their unique doner bread takes the taste of doner to the highest level. The bread is baked fresh right there and made edible for us. You can choose this doner as either red meat or chicken meat. There are also vegetarian options available. Bon appetit in advance.

The staff is absolutely rude, the tables are very dirty. After I paid for two kebabs, I was told that it would take a while because I still needed the bread, so I said that I would wait and that it wouldn't be a problem. I was then asked 4 or 5 times by different employees whether I would rather eat a Dürüm, which I said no several times. I felt under pressure, as if they wanted to quickly fob me off with something else that was quicker so that I can leave more quickly, even though I said that I could wait for my kebab that I had paid for. When these were ready, a kebab was prepared first, this employee then took his cigarettes out of his pocket and walked away. I continued to wait for my second kebab. After waiting for several minutes, another employee came and finished my kebab, hardly any meat, the sauce on one kebab was only at the bottom of the bread, on the other it was also on top, so it was simply forgotten. Next to me I noticed how one of the employees (with Airpods in his ears) smiled in someone's face and jokingly held the kebab under the glass so that they couldn't grab it. I found it totally inappropriate and apparently so did the person. I will never go here again.

We were in Cologne for work and of course wanted to try Poldi...But the disappointment was really huge...The kebab box was full of grease at the bottom...The kebab was barely done. The ambience inside was so-so...tables and floor not clean...the four of us really hadn't imagined it like that...you just never stop learning...the name alone doesn't do it...it's a shame...

Mangal X Lukas Podolski doner restaurant is located right next to the cathedral, 3 minutes away from the train station. They make the bread themselves. It's a bit small inside and there is no sink. The bread is good, the meat is good and the staff is friendly, but not having a sink is a problem. The bread has a slightly different presentation than the doner kebabs you are used to in Germany. It is quite satisfying and has an average taste.

Doner wasn't anything special, I expected more. The meat wasn't cooked through, I just cut it down without frying it properly, I couldn't eat all of my kebab, I had to throw it away, everything was done quickly, the employees were under a lot of stress and also irritable!! I was disappointed

The food here is superb, i had heard about this prior to our visit due to the football connection and stumbled upon it whilst in the cathedral area. The ingredients were all so fresh, the meat superb and sauces so flavorsome! Highly recommended. My only gripe was the service and possibly language barrier, I asked for chicken and got beef but couldn't waste time correcting the other, I'd have eaten both so it was fine!

There are nice employees but the kebab was very greasy and the hygiene was also very bad. I got a kebab about 10 hours ago and now I have food poisoning...

When I had my kebab I quite liked it at first Little did I know it would leave me with food poisoning and me having to get up all night to go to the toilet. I just read the other reviews and everyone was saying the staff were not friendly etc. I did not experience that. I tried talking to them in English but they did not speak English. Luckily I had a German friend with me that completed my order for me. I did not notice any bad service but again I am not very good with my German so did not understand everything. I have nothing much to say about the atmosphere.

With a bang two stars for fresh bread and salad, which is what you should expect given the prices.
