The staff wanted to charge me the price of a whole doner plate for a small portion of doner meat. They were also giving me really aggressive looks. There was a hair in my portion of meat – how disgusting! Never again. There are definitely better doner shops in Nippes and the surrounding area; go there instead, people. I'm definitely never eating at Mangal again.

We ordered and instead of falafel, we received meat, which I don't eat. The branch initially acted as if it was the wrong branch and not responsible. After several hours on the phone, no solution could be found. And most importantly, no food! Incredibly unfriendly and terrible. I will never order from them again.

It's a disgrace to accuse me of a host of criminal offenses because I described the restaurant as good. That is a criminal offense; that is the defamation that was mentioned. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. The quality of the food hasn't improved since then.

But when I said "cocktail and garlic" for the sauce, the garlic was completely ignored. And the store wasn't full; there were four or five people behind the counter. Honestly: After a 12-hour shift, you're looking forward to a kebab, paying almost €15 for it (kebab + fries), and then you get treated like this? It's just annoying – and unfortunately, this isn't the first time. I don't expect a red carpet, but a minimum level of friendliness and professionalism is expected. It's not just partygoers from Nippes who come, but also regular customers. To top it all off, I discovered at home that the kebab wasn't even properly filled – and that for €8.40. Honestly, I don't understand it. I really don't.

The lighting is far too bright, and the place is uncomfortable. There's no restroom, although food and seating are available. The staff is unfriendly. The doner kebab is made entirely of minced meat, not layered meat. The spicy sauce is made from sweet curry ketchup, which is far too sweet. The kebab doesn't look appetizing. Döner is delicious but the prices are too high the toilets are clean

We went from Türkiye to Germany. The döner kebab was delicious and the portions were generous. The halal meat and clean restrooms were a plus for us. I highly recommend trying the German döner kebab. I'd also like to thank chef Nevzat for helping us order.

Extremely small portions. The meat is just being made to look big. They put in so little meat that it was less than what you get in Turkey. Very tasteless döner meat. Messy and dirty tables. This place pales in comparison to the quality döner experience you expect in Germany. A huge disappointment.

I never normally write about kebab shops, but I'm going to take the trouble here. The kebab had almost only vegetables and almost no meat. I showed it to the employee, and then he said I'd already eaten the meat. There was still at least 60% of the kebab left, just lettuce and onions. I also wanted feta cheese, which was a €1 surcharge, but I didn't see any of it in the kebab. After I begged for more, the employee added some more. Then I asked for extra hot chili powder. I was told they didn't have it. Then an employee came over and simply gave me the shaker of the less hot powder and opened the lid, as if to say, "Then just go ahead and put everything on it." The taste was okay, but the employees were abysmal. For €9.50 (€8.50 without feta cheese), you can definitely get much better and cheaper kebabs in Cologne. I'm convinced there are good Mangal doner kebab shops out there, but this one definitely isn't one. Never again.

The kebab was good, but it had a lot of sauce. Our Lieferando order kept getting delayed, so we had to wait 1.5 hours (delivery time was 10 minutes). When we called, we were suddenly connected to another branch, which gave us an unused number (also found online) supposedly for our branch. After calling back several times, no one answered. Overall, we were dissatisfied.

The food was okay. One employee was particularly unfriendly. "The customer is king" was not a given here. The seat cushions and chairs were disgustingly dirty.

(At 12:45 a.m., they certainly would have been understanding.) Despite the skewer being visible, it was labeled "all gone," and fries were no longer available. All of this is completely understandable. Other guests who entered the shop after us around 12:20 a.m. were also turned away. The staff reacted inappropriately to constructive and deliberately polite feedback about this service, even threatening to call the police and emergency services?! We were told to refrain from taking photos and writing reviews. More like an act of desperation in the face of impending criticism. ...well, this apparently had little success. This entry is simply intended as a note to the operator regarding existing conditions, as well as to future customers regarding the service they can expect. As guests, we remain open to suggestions for solutions and an appropriate response. We would be happy to discuss this personally...

I have been a regular customer at Mangal since the first branch opened on Weidengasse, but unfortunately the quality has declined significantly in recent years. The chicken is cut far too quickly, so it is often not cooked properly. The bread is also no longer of the same quality as it used to be - it has become smaller and no longer tastes as good as it used to. In addition, the amount of meat has decreased, so that the price-performance ratio is no longer right at all. Another big problem is the staff. The employees are constantly changing, often seem inexperienced and not properly trained. It would be better to invest in well-trained staff to avoid such problems. Overall, I am disappointed with the development of the store. Mangal used to be one of the best kebab addresses, but unfortunately I can no longer say that.

Absolute disaster: unkempt branch, employees don't pay attention when ordering because they prefer to talk to friends who are hanging around at the counter. Quality of the food is low level (cheapest pressed meat, sauces probably from a bucket, fries are soggy), the price/performance ratio is zero. Generally just a greasy, dirty atmosphere. It's actually a shame that LP lends its name to the store/chain.

The store in Nippes is pretty dingy. The employees ask at least 3 to 4 times how the kebab should be topped. The colleague at the checkout is trying to be funny, but he's not! Simply disappointed.

The kebab is really delicious - even better with cheese! Been there twice now. However, it has to be said that it really depends on who puts the kebab together - some employees are very thrifty & "forgetful", so I wasn't even asked what kind of meat I wanted.

I always went here because I appreciated the service and quality at Lucas. But on the last two visits - both at Rudolfplatz and here in Nippes - I was very disappointed with the service. The sellers were rude and didn't give any sauce at all even though I specifically pointed it out. My dinner was completely ruined. I won't risk going back to Podolski any time soon.

Frozen skewer with probably a small amount of meat. It should actually be called “meat skewer in bread” because “döner kebab” requires at least 40% meat. This is about “veal”. Chicken meat is real and tastes much better. Sauces are standard but unfortunately not good. What is very good is the bread. Mostly fresh and homemade. Employees are friendly. Yesterday as a native Berliner there! This has nothing to do with a classic kebab! Tzatziki, cocktail and spicy and coleslaw? Garlic, herbs or hot sauce and red cabbage, onions iceberg and cucumbers/tomatoes belong on a kebab! And the bread, what is that supposed to be? Flatbread, nothing else... No wonder the kebab shop in Berlin was closed. The price was exorbitant for the quantity.

Mangal kebab is simply amazing! The taste of the kebab is incomparable - fresh meat, perfectly seasoned, and the ingredients are always crisp and of the highest quality. The homemade sauces in particular give the whole thing that certain something. The portions are generous so you'll really feel full, and it's absolutely great value for money. The service is also super friendly and fast, even when it's busier. For me the best kebab shop in the area! If you are looking for authentic and really tasty kebab, you should definitely stop by Mangal. Absolutely recommended!

I can only speak for this shop in Nippes, but it doesn't seem to be properly maintained. You pay quite a bit for the name, but probably not for the quality.
