Dolores Mitte in Berlin

All people working in Dolores is super friendly! The four stars are because of two things: - Burritos aren't stuffed with a good portion of protein. The protein portion is usually the smallest. And the times I ordered a burrito without an ingredient (like for example, without salad) I just got a smaller burrito, as they didn't compensate the size with other ingredient. - Small thing, but the payments machine defaults you to leave a tip.

The service is so friendly, there's nothing to complain about. The food is okay so far. Pulled pork wasn't my thing but I think the chicken was pretty good. Portions are definitely sufficient. Toopings are not saved. You can eat if you like Mexican. I have no idea if it's authentic but it was okay for me.

We had buritos, a quesadilla and tacos. Everything was fresh and very good. Be careful of pickles that are spicy.

Burrito was OK, but nothing more. Despite being "spicy", it was hardly seasoned and the consistency of the content was strangely uniformly soft. Nevertheless, it is important that there is also Mexican fast food and it was pleasantly quick despite rush hour. Price was also okay for the size of the portion (quite large). I would give it another chance with a different dish.

Unfriendly staff, is the menu also available in German??

I was one of your first customers back then and I still love you more than anything!! But I think it's a shame, you can't order extras from the delivery service, like salsa, coriander, etc. I need at least 4 extra salsa per burrito

I tried burritos, bowls, tacos and chips almost all the available options. It’s decent enough to fill the stomach. But not my favourite Mexican restaurant. Too much crowded. And eating area is not very clean.

Pretty good Mexican food, quite authentic I would say. Good to grab something on the go or to eat in. Always a lot going on in there. But the wait isn’t too long. Definitely recommend going to. It is quite expensive but in today’s economy still fine though. Been going here for a while from time to time and it has always been really good.

One of my favorite mexican fast foods in Berlin. This time, though, bowl was not fresh and nachos was full of oil... Update: good tacos, but avocado bowl has a tiny amount of avocado. Still, it's more tasty than my last experience.

Taco tortillas were too thin and fell apart immediately. Despite that the food was fantastic, and at €8 (€13 with a cola) you can't beat it. Very worth it. Next time a burrito or a bowl for sure though.

As an American, I was curious to see if this lived up to the claim of being California Mexican. And honestly, it wasn't too far off! The chips were not great, overcooked and a bit on the bland side. But the burrito (got the wicked beef) and the burrito bowl (got the naughty pork) were both really good. Great amount, super filling, fast service. The agua fresca was also super good and authentic.

Good value for money, certainly and a tasty vegetarian burrito went some way to explain why this is the only restaurant in Berlin my sister recommended. They have their own label beer ‘Dolores Cerveza Clara’ which isn’t half bad neither. Added bonus for the dance routine to Earth Wind & Fire performed by one of the kitchen staff.

I had a taco bowl to go. It kind of messed everything up in the box which was alright. It was quite a small portion and the proportions of the ingredients (salad, meat, cheese etc) felt a little bit off but all in all it was good.

Well, unfortunately the cheesy chicken was terrible. Only pulled pork was delicious! Burrito was really a lot but fell apart. Can't recommend! At least not for the price. A water 2.50???

Dolores offers a take on Mexican food that feels more like a nod to Chipotle than an authentic experience. One of the main drawbacks is the portion size. The servings are surprisingly small, especially when considering the recent price hikes. It’s hard to justify the cost when you feel like you’re not getting much for your money. Additionally, the payment process leaves a bit to be desired. Even if you’re just picking up a quick bite, you’re nudged into selecting a tip, reminiscent of the tipping culture in the U.S. It’s a bit off-putting, especially in Berlin, where service workers are generally paid fairly. This push for tipping feels out of place and adds an unnecessary layer of guilt to what should be a simple transaction. Overall, while Dolores Mitte might scratch the itch for a quick and familiar meal, it falls short in value and authenticity.

Summary: disappointing just overwhelming mushy burrito with unbalanced flavor with friendly service at the counter; I asked for a recommendation, because I’m not an expert in „Mexican“ food and also not a big fan, but the high frequency of visitors made me want to try it: the recommendation was the wicked beef burrito Dishes (- negative / = ok / + positive): - Burrito wicked beef: beef was ok, unbalanced flavor overall with too much of everything making it a mushy „I don’t know what I am eating“ experience; took a little bit of spicy and that was the major flavor I left with = added extra guacamole on the side which was ok Service: + friendly service at the counter Price: + fair price for value for a big burrito; I’d prefer if they added a little love and balance the amount of ingredients so that a well-balanced umami flavor results Atmosphere: + easy fast food style

I really don't understand the hype for this place. Food has little to do with mexican taste (though the names suggest it). Easy chicken burrito was somewhat decent, but Vegan Lover was not eatable. We also had nachos (so called chips) with souses and they ware very oily not too tasty. Quite noisy inside and outside. Small selection of drinks and very weird tasting lemonade.

The service was good and the food came quickly. The burrito fills you up but doesn't taste great. The quesedias were ok. Not acceptable for me given the prices and not convincing in terms of taste either. The ambience needs improvement.

Unfortunately, Pork Bowl was a complete disappointment. Rarely have I eaten such tasteless pulled pork. The other ingredients also left something to be desired... Definitely not a recommendation.

I've been spending my lunch break here with colleagues 2-3 times a month for around 15 years. And we have never been disappointed! It's always fresh, nutritious, plentiful, comparatively cheap and really tasty every time! My favorite: the “Vegan Friend” with extra guacamole as a bowl. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Well-filled, delicious burrito. It was really spicy, which was a positive change from the otherwise mild spiciness in comparable restaurants. The menus did not contain any side dishes, you could still order chips with dips. Something like sweet potato fries as an option would have been nice. But what was there looked very good!

my friends found this place and we decided to try it out, taking into consideration the good reviews this place had. i was personally disappointed - got the tacos, they quickly turned soggy, impossible to eat and at the end i didn’t finish my meal. maybe other options are better than the tacos, as two of my friends had burritos and one of them enjoyed it, while the other one hated it. prices seemed fair, the staff were pretty friendly, the menu confused me a bit.

The name of this place comes from a street in San Francisco that's known for California style burritos. From a place of authenticity to that style I'd say it misses the mark. The meats in California are typically grilled/planchad and are simply spiced and crispy. And that just doesn't get represented correctly here. However, it feels like its own style and it's decently yummy regardless of what it's trying to imitate. Among the proteins the carnitas here is the best seasoned and most authentic (not a huge fan of 'chipotle' seasoned chicken).

I like dolores atmosphere and staff.you can make your own bowl with different options. All options are very good.But taste of dolores near U Wittenberg is very awesome.

Service quick. Only sharing the burrito is not possible. You have to do it yourself if you want to share. In the USA these things always come in aluminum and are therefore quite strong. The burrito here falls apart and can't be shared. Stupid with children. The tables could be cleaner and cleaned faster. The food. I think the chips are bad and wouldn't buy them again. The burritos: All in all good. But sometimes too round. Long is better because then you have some of all the ingredients in your mouth. If the burrito is too thick then sometimes you only have meat or rice. Not a perfect bite. That's annoying every time. It's a shame because the ingredients are really good. So roll it longer and in aluminum. A vegetarian version with sweet potatoes would be good.

Crazy fat burritos! The prices seem high at first, especially if you only know the small ones from Sausalitos. But you really get a board here. The burritos taste okay, and the homemade iced tea is also good and not very expensive. Recommended for anyone who is very hungry and wants Mexican food!

Friendly staff and generous serves but not very tasty or authentic tex-mex

The taste of the food is as original as in Mexico. In fact, we think these tacos were better than the ones in Tulum. Accordingly, the store was very full and visually not an eye-catcher. Nevertheless, from today on our only point of contact for authentic Mexican food.

Burrito spicy chicken was cold, maybe that’s why i couldn’t taste any flavours in it. Next day i had some problems with my stomach after eating it - definitely for me it isn’t worth time to wait (i waited 30-35 minutes for burrito)

A very nice restaurant, offering Mexican fast food. Portions are very generous and delicious. Quesadilla was beautifully presented , cut into neat slices with golden brown crispy exterior and tasted fresh and flavorful. The portion size was just right,making it a great value for the price.. Highly recommended !!

Honestly there's not much service going on there. I mean order, pick up, eat, clean your table and throw away your garbage. They prepare a very decent quality meal. It has enough portions and it feels you have a lot of protein, if you order a meat base food. The atmosphere is good. Especially during summer or springs as you can go out and enjoy your meal outside.

Bland and had nothing much to do with a Mexican burrito.

Once you have fought your way through the large selection and figured out the ordering system, you can put together a very, very tasty burrito from the friendly staff. The homemade lemonade is also recommended. The burritos are really big and well filled, so you'll definitely be full. What's not so nice is the dingy, dirty atmosphere in the restaurant itself. There are dirty trays everywhere with leftover food from guests who didn't clear it away themselves... and the tables weren't cleaned once in the 30 minutes I was there wiped off. That's fine in the last old pub in Fhain, but it should be handled better in a restaurant in Mitte.

If you like Mexican food, you've come to the right place, especially when it comes to the fact that burritos, quesedillas or tacos don't just consist of meat, meat and more meat. The options for vegan or vegetarian versions are particularly great. Gluten-free alternatives such as bowls or classic tacos and nacho chips made from corn are also offered. You also have the freedom to choose between ready-made versions or to put together your own dish completely yourself. Just great! We personally love the food there and have for many years. In the past, we went to Dolores's at least once a week during our lunch break or easily ordered online and picked up. The quality of the food is great and everything is freshly prepared. Depending on who is in the kitchen, you can discover this in terms of taste, especially in the sauces. Since the shop is still very hip and very busy, the staff unfortunately just can't keep up with keeping the tables clean, especially during peak times. Often it is the guests themselves who simply cannot manage to put away their dirty dishes or easily collect leftover food with a napkin. That's actually a shortcoming, but it's not just Dolores's fault! As I said, you can order very easily online or on site in Spanish, English or German. The entire staff is super friendly and you can tell every time that they enjoy their work. The price-performance ratio is also right here and a visit, no matter what time of day or night, can only be recommended. It is worth it!

Food is good so far. Why is cash not accepted? This still doesn't make sense to me and isn't explained. This somehow creates a woke, passive-aggressive impression and creates a slightly unpleasant atmosphere. What I found really unsightly was the anus sticker on the entrance door. I raised this on social media and unfortunately received no response.

I don't know how many years I've been eating at Dolores regularly. The employees are always super friendly no matter which store you go to. The highlight of Dolores is and remains the food. Whatever burritos, bowls and quesadillas, every dish is made fresh and, if desired, individually. Great!

Im actually shocked this place has this many good ratings. We went there because we saw a lot of people inside and we read positive reviews on google but we were really disappointed. We took two burritos and they were kind of bad. It tasted really cheap (to be honest tasteless) it looked soggy and the cold lettuce inside of a hot burrito felt totally out of place. If i were to compare it to the best burrito i ate in my life id rate it 3/10 on the same scale. Easly the worst mexican food we ate. Service, location, and atmosphere was great.
