Dill sin Döns Restaurant in Hamburg

Waiting 45 minutes for a waffle in the nicest weather, only to be told on the second request that there are no more because the waffle we ordered went to another customer. I don't want to say another word about the bad coffee here. Really disappointing!

Unfortunately, I had the worst dining experience here in ages yesterday. After we were served only after 15 minutes and then only got our drinks after another 20 minutes, I had to wait over fifty minutes for my food (a French fry). I politely reminded the waiter about my order a total of four times. The neighboring tables who ordered after me received their food before me. When I remembered, I was always reassured with the motto “just relax, your food is coming soon, you don’t have to remind me”. After fifty minutes I've had enough because we're cold and I go into the restaurant and say politely that I want to pay. The waiter then shouts my order into the kitchen (turns out he just forgot). I say no, I don't want to eat or pay anymore and he shouts my order back into the kitchen. In order not to get the food against my will, I firmly but politely say that I want to pay. He then tells me “not like that” several times. I find that to be an absolute disgrace. I receive neither an apology nor an offer to get anything on the house and pay EUR 6.90 for a wheat and EUR 6.90 for a hot organ and go home in a bad mood. Thanks for nothing!!

Service was an absolute disgrace, we were ignored for 30 minutes (despite making it known several times). Underground!

Unfortunately the classic tourist trap. The location and view of the Elbe are great and the staff are all very friendly. But that’s about it for the positive. The friendly waitress practically forgets everything immediately, the cake is cheap frozen goods and the cappucino tastes like old beans from a fully automatic machine. The prices are such that you could also go to Louis C. Jacob 300m further ahead.

We waited 20 minutes without being served. Then we left hungry.

Kaffee unterirdisch billig, kein Geschmack. Latte Macchiato und Cappuccino haben nichts damit gemein, leider wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Das zu überteuerten Preisen. Hervorragend ist der Blick auf die Elbe, aber die ist ja sowieso da. Wir kommen leider nicht mehr wieder.

There you only pay for the view. A piece of non-homemade cake (industrial goods) for €4.50 is a bit too much.

Nice place to stay! Unfortunately" Homemade waffles" are warmed up and not homemade... What a shame!!!! Nice service.

Nice and cozy on the Elbe Delicious beer after the bike ride

You can sit there very well, watch ships on the Elbe and, if you're lucky, see the Beluga (the transport plane) from Airbus-Industrie (other side of the Elbe) taking off or landing. Of course, there is also a lot of culinary options here.

Superb location on the banks of the Elbe Peaceful place even if you see huge cargo containers passing by, they surprisingly don't make any noise!

Please bring plenty of time and plenty of seating. We actually wanted to drink and eat something because what was served looked really tasty. Unfortunately, the service is friendly but very slow. We waited 10 minutes until someone came and we could order our drinks, we ordered a cocktail and two beers. The cocktail was served after 30 minutes and the beers after 40 minutes. We weren't taken care of, no one stopped by or asked. When we went in to pay we were told to wait at the table. After another 10 minutes we were able to pay and leave. It's a real shame that everything took so long.

Nice restaurant with a terrace located directly on the banks of the Elbe. Delicious food.

Rather very rustic and old fashioned. There's nothing wrong with the food. It tastes ok, but is rather plain, as the clean sanitary facilities also show. and not particularly cheap. The service staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The view makes it even more worthwhile for me as a young person from Hamburg.

Service was very unfriendly and inattentive, fish and chips were definitely not fresh, but potato wedges and ready-made "fish" that mainly consisted of fried breading.

Go eat at this place! The service is magnificent, very friendly and welcoming staff. We ate very well in the evening, watching the ships enter and leave the port. Beautiful!

The spaghetti carbonara was super tasty. The service was friendly and humorous. The view of the Elbe allows you to watch ships passing by.

Just crazy €3.50 for a can of Radler that costs €0.89 in the supermarket. It's sad that you have to deduct €1.50 from people and you would have earned enough from it. On top of that, the staff is extremely unfriendly, I can't recommend it to anyone ever again. Better go somewhere else.

Es gibt nichts Schöneres, als auf die Elbe zu schauen und bei Dill sin Dons draußen entspannt einen Aperol zu trinken. Oder ein Zeugnisessen mit den Enkeln zu veranstalten. Oder den frischen Matjes mit den Spitzen-Bratkartoffeln zu essen. Oder die Süßkartoffel-Pommes Frites. Oder im Winter drinnen Grünkohl. Der Blick auf vorbei fahrende Containerschiffe oder auf startende und landende Airbus-Maschinen sind dann eine zusätzliche Abwechslung. Ach ja: Der Service: Stets sehr freundlich.

Este es un gran lugar para sentarse y relajarse si usted está caminando o en bicicleta por las orillas del río Elba. Hay una gran terraza al aire libre desde la que se puede ver el transitado tráfico fluvial y aéreo mientras disfruta de refrescos. Teníamos una cerveza y patatas fritas para compartir. Las papas fritas cortadas eran excelentes. Se proporciona agua fría de forma gratuita.

Enjoyed delicious food on a warm day with a view of the Elbe. Very friendly service, wanted to leave a tip with EC card payment, unfortunately it wasn't possible because I didn't have any cash with me.

We sat on the terrace in the best sunshine and had a very good meal. I ate the veal schnitzel with potatoes and cucumber salad, my husband ate the redfish fillet. The service was friendly and the food was very tasty!

Our absolute favorite place on the Elbe. There is no nicer, more relaxed place to sit. The service is unparalleled in Hamburg. Keep it up, you're great!!!!

We were there to watch the inlet parade. It was packed. The outside area has been redesigned and is very beautiful. The service (Basera) was super nice and attentive despite the crowd. Every guest was greeted warmly and all wishes were fulfilled. The meal took a while but considering how busy it was, that's no surprise! We had a lovely afternoon and will be back!

Had a beer and currywurst there. The food was ok and the service was quick, even though it was very busy.

The service is horrible. We pointed out to the staff several times that we hadn't ordered anything yet. Asked if we needed to come forward to place the order. Every time it was said that someone was coming soon. Guests who arrived after us were served and even received their orders. We left after half an hour. It's a real shame and not worth a second visit. The view saved the stay.

Unfortunately I can't say much about the food as we couldn't place an order after asking several times. Luckily you don't have to walk far to find an alternative.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the Elbe. When we visited, the weather was great, it was very full and the service was therefore very busy. Drinks were brought quickly, but the waiting time for food, a simple salad and pasta, was unreasonable. The food was ok.

Nice restaurant right on the Elbe. Employees are nice. I just had a drink there. It is important if it is very windy that you should hold your drink glass in your hand otherwise it will tip over. All in all, it's a good place to stop off.

We were guests there after a nice Boßel round and had a great end to the day with very tasty kale. The fried potatoes are awesome. Location and view of the Elbe are great. We felt very comfortable. Gladly again.

After a long, extensive walk along the Elbe (with snowfall), we were in the mood for something warm...we were warmly welcomed at "Dill sin Döns". It was also great that we were allowed to bring two dogs in with us, as the space in the restaurant is very tight. If you consider that every guest is wearing thick jackets etc. There were six of us and we had delicious apple pie, homemade Kaiserschmarrn, mulled wine and Lumumba. It costs a lot at 8.90 euros, but there's a lot in the cup!!!! Thank you also, again, for the short drinks we got from the nice waitress outside 👍🎉☃️ Here’s to a happy new year and see you next time 😉👍👍

Einfaches Restaurant mit großer Terrasse zur Elbe. Innen klein und gemütlich. Zu essen gibt's einfache Küche (gebratener Fisch, Currywurst m. Fritten, Salate) alles in ordentlichen Portionen zu sehr moderaten Preisen. Gebracht wird alles von einem sehr freundlichen Service. Ich bin hier immer wieder gerne zu einer erfrischenden Unterbrechung wenn wir von Blankenese nach Teufelsbrück oder umgekehrt spazieren. Update, in der Hoffnung, dies beim nächsten Besuch wieder löschen zu können: unfreundlicher service und warum darf man plötzlich nicht mehr bargeldlos bezahlen???

Ein toller Ort, ideal für die kurze Rast beim Spaziergang entlang der Elbe. Der Ausblick ist phänomenal, auch bei herbstlichem Wetter sollte man lieber draußen sitzen. Sehr freundliches Personal, leckere frische Fischbrötchen und witzige Drinks (neben Hugo gibts auch Inge und Helga, sehr lecker). Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Leute, das Rührei mit Pfifferlingen und Bratkartoffeln muss man gegessen haben - total lecker. Und nach einem langen Fußmarsch einfach ein schöner Ort zum Pausieren und Kraft tanken. Die Mitarbeiter sind richtig nett, wenn Zeit ist gibts ‘nen Plausch - ich habe mich als Einzelperson echt wohlgefühlt! Danke für die schöne Wanderpause, ich komme definitiv wieder!

Nettes Lokal direkt an der Elbe. Hier wird Stiegl-Bier ausgeschenkt. Ein Novum hier im Norden. Der Matjes auf Schwarzbrot hat super geschmeckt. Ich komme wieder.

Personal von super freundlich bis grottig mies gelaunt alles dabei :( Apfelkuchen ist Tiefkühlkost aufgetaut und matschig für 4€, kleines Wasser für 3,50€ ohne Zitronenscheibe und Eis lieblos hingestellt. Toller Lage aber die top Bewertungen kann ich nicht teilen!

Wir waren heute an der Elbe spazieren sind dann spontan im Din Sin Döns eingekehrt und hatten dort frischen Rotbarsch mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen, es war sehr lecker werden auf jedenfall wiederkommen, die Lage vom Restaurant liegt direkt am Wanderweg zur Elbe

Große Spezi bestellt aber nur eine kleine erhalten. Zahlen mussten wir aber eine Grosse. Die Servicekraft war nicht gut gelaunt.

Ich kann die positiven Eindrücke nur bestätigen - mittlerweile ist Dill sin Döns eine sehr gemütliche Location, wo man bequem mit Freunden klönen und auch gut essen kann (das ist nicht selbstverständlich; bis vor ca. zwei Jahren war hier außer Pommes und Pils kaum ein akzeptables Angebot zu finden). Sehr schön heute hat mir gefallen das Tegernseer Hell (ich liiiebe helles Bier!), die guten Spaghetti Aglio Olio f. € 10,90 sowie der ausgezeichnete Service durch Gül - 1a mit Sternchen!! 😊
