We and our child received a truly warm welcome. We were given a spot by the playground, which was great, of course. The service was very friendly and attentive. The cheese appetizer was also very tasty. The main course (salmon burger), however, wasn't quite as great. The potato pancakes weren't crispy, which meant they didn't really taste good.

We were back in SPO for two weeks starting in mid-May and in the first week we were on the island. We sat outside in the last row on the left in the beach chair in the sunshine and ate a delicious salad bowl and had a drink, spritzer and cappuccino. The service was very friendly that day too. On Sunday May 25th 2025, since we had enjoyed the food so much the days before and had such a nice seat, we wanted to go back to one of those lovely sunny beach chairs there around 3 p.m. This time the entire back area was cordoned off. The sunny beach chairs in the first row, facing the street, were all occupied and there were only one or two tables free in the shade at the front right. However, since it was quite chilly and it was supposed to be completely sunny for about three hours that afternoon and it was, we would have liked to sit there in the beach chair again. Two other couples also asked if we could please have a seat in the sun. A very unfriendly young lady, slightly corpulent, with a green top and blond hair tied back in a ponytail, said to us in a snippy and annoyed manner that we could sit in the shade. The sunny part hadn't been opened and it wasn't worth it. I told the lady that we would like a seat in the sun, but that we didn't want to sit in the shade because the sun was finally out. She rolled her eyes in annoyance, turned her back on us, left and we heard her annoyed pffff. 6 people, so 3 couples, were simply left standing at that moment and then they say it wasn't worth it?? We, as well as the other 2 couples, then moved on and looked for another restaurant with a sunny spot. We found a seat across the street at the Italian restaurant and from there we counted how many people after us also wanted a sunny seat on the left but didn't get one and left again. There were quite a few of them, and I suspect the staff simply didn't want to walk unnecessarily far to serve guests that day. It's a shame. Because of this incident, we stopped going there afterward and looked for other restaurants. This is extremely customer-unfriendly and unprofessional. The island probably lost a few hundred euros that afternoon because of it – apparently, they could easily do without this income. It's a shame, because otherwise we would probably have eaten there almost every day, but not like this. Such rude and unprofessional behavior is hard to forget. Negative behavior sticks with us for a long time. Perhaps some of the employees there should simply get a course on "how to treat customers properly" paid for by the owner, or does the owner have it in place so that guests are simply rudely fobbed off? Whatever the case, we find it incomprehensible. We asked nicely and politely and can therefore expect to be treated just as nicely and politely. That doesn't always work here, or perhaps it's just the fault of one employee.

But yes, great service and great food. Always worth a visit.

Very fast service, but unfortunately, the food was lukewarm and underseasoned for my taste. We had plaice and Labskaus. I complained, but they simply said they would pass it on, without even offering an apology.

We were looking for a fish restaurant while passing through and found what we were looking for here. All in all, a great place! Great food, great service. Panfish is highly recommended, and the vegetarian selection is also excellent. Overall, it was great. The seating is very comfortable. The ambiance is really great and stylishly decorated.

The restaurant is attractive and has a cozy feel. Unfortunately, this is the second time I've been there today. The first time I had Labskaus... I must have seen too many TikTok videos asking for a recipe... fluffy and tasteless, unfortunately. I really like it though. Today I had linguine with chicken and Grand Padamo. If only I'd gone to the hotel hungry. The chicken was bone dry and partly burnt. I'm actually a friendly person and I pointed this out to the waiter, who asked if he could bring me something else at some point, maybe the same thing. He didn't offer a price reduction. So, St. Peter Ording, that's not how it works; the price-performance ratio should be right. I'll never go there again.

The dishes we ordered tasted very good, good quality, and cleverly prepared. The Alles Käseburger, in particular, is a flavor explosion. But you pay a price to match. Nice location, centrally located. Now for what's absolutely not acceptable: if guests don't want/can't sit in the blazing sun, not offering free seats in the shade because certain areas of the "garden" are just "opening" but aren't visibly closed off. But no problem, there are still plenty of delicious alternatives in SPO with free (shady) seating 😉

The food was delicious, and there was even a separate gluten- and lactose-free menu. We had a wonderful evening with our large dog (for whom water bowls were provided) and would gladly return!

We had a nice evening on the island! What should be particularly highlighted is the really friendly service. You get the feeling that they really put their hearts into it and we felt very well looked after!

Die Insel besticht durch ihre Lage und dem Ambiente. Wir sind spontan eingekehrt, nach einem langen Strandspaziergang im Februar. Die Inneneinrichtung ist stimmig zur Nordsee. Wir wurden freundlich begrüsst und konnten sogleich bestellen. Frischer Pfefferminztee und Waffeln war unsere Wahl. Der Tee wurde mit frischer Minze und Honig gebracht und die Waffeln mit reichlich Pflaumen. Beider sehr lecker und so konnten wir gestärkt weiter ziehen.

Nice restaurant, good home-style food

The island impresses with its location and ambience. We stopped in spontaneously after a long walk on the beach in February. The interior design is harmonious with the North Sea. We were greeted warmly and were able to order straight away. Fresh mint tea and waffles were our choice. The tea was brought with fresh mint and honey and the waffles with plenty of plums. Both were very tasty and so we were able to move on strengthened.

I wouldn't eat in this restaurant if I walk along the terrace and see that the dog owners have placed their animals on the chairs and benches at almost every table. I don't want to eat from the table anymore, I just find it disgusting.

Wir waren spontan am Freitag Abend da und haben ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen, obwohl das Restaurant sehr voll war. Der Service war gut, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war durchweg lecker. Lapskaus war gut und der Getränkeservice sehr aufmerksam.

Wow, this restaurant is just wonderful, we went here with our children and the staff is so child friendly. You get to do some painting, there is a nice children's menu in the menu, we sat in the beach chair next to the children's playground, everything was very relaxed and cozy. Plus delicious food and fine drinks🙂👍 we’ll be happy to come back ❤️

It's a great place, the food is freshly cooked and made...and delicious. I think a beer at 6.50 is priced too high, but that's because of the holiday area.

Ambiente modern, bloß drinnen die Bestuhlung war irgendwie bei uns durcheinander.Der Service war ok…war aber wirklich noch Luft nach oben. Leider war meine Suppe kalt. Oben heiß, unten war sie kalt mit Mangostücken. Geschmacklich na ja. Die Minze schwimmte matschig in der Suppe. Auch der Cappucino kam in einer Kakaotasse und schmeckte leider nicht. Hatte mir leider mehr von der Insel versprochen. Aber ein Bierchen im Strandkorb hat dann nach dem Strandbesuch noch geschmeckt. Tut mir leid für die schlechte Bewertung, ich bin weiß Gott keine Meckermaus :-).

Ganz spontan ohne Reservierung vorbeigeschaut – nach kurzer Wartezeit zum Glück noch einen Tisch für vier bekommen. Das Essen war super lecker, wirklich top! Beim Service hakte es leider ein bisschen: Das Aufteilungssystem wirkte etwas chaotisch. Die erste Bestellung lief noch rund, aber danach mussten wir uns richtig bemühen, um nochmal etwas zu bestellen. Schade – denn gerade beim Zusatzverkauf geht’s ja nicht nur um unseren Genuss, sondern auch ums Geschäft.

The food was delicious and the ambience was nice, although the street noise outside was a little annoying. Unfortunately, the waitress was unfriendly and responded to our question after paying with "We're bringing the blankets back?" with a "But of course, otherwise she would call us back. That's really not her job. She might put them away with her children at home, but not for us." It's okay to bring the blankets back - we thought maybe they should be left in the cool outdoor area for the next guests. But you don't respond so condescendingly to a question from guests, which also made it clear from the way the question was asked that the blankets would also be returned. A tip was also given a few seconds beforehand. It's a shame, something like that leaves you speechless and angry.

I paid a total of 70 euros for myself and my wife. I chose a Burger G2 with fries. Very shabby wobbly fries. Sometimes very light. Crispy is only known from the dictionary. Very rarely have I eaten or not eaten such miserable fries. The meat and toppings of the burger were acceptable. The bun, on the other hand, is absolutely bland and tasteless. In short, completely overpriced tourist food that I can only advise against. I left half of it lying around. I'm very sorry to have to write this, but that's how it was for me. Some time ago I ate something similar in Büsum. That wasn't any better. Tourist rip-off.

Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the beer was served carelessly in my opinion, and the plaice fillets ordered were simply not enough compared to the side dish and the price. We were there years ago and had fond memories of it, but unfortunately we were disappointed this time.

Wir haben gerade noch einen Tisch bekommen, und das mit einer zeitlichen Befristung, über die dann aber netterweise hinweggegangen wurde. Das Essen ist aber, anders als der gute Service uninspiriert. Die Fischsuppe war gut. Der Lachs mit Risotto aber Fad und das Lachsfilet totgebrsten. Auch der Pannfisch war nur ok. Wir haben uns mehr erwartet. Das Essen wirkt wie ein etwas liebloser Alltag. Nicht mit Liebe und Pfiff gemacht. Leider.

Absolute highlight of the vacation 🥰 The service was super friendly, the ambience inside and outside was lovingly designed and very cozy and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Personally, the visit to the “island” made me really happy. I can only recommend it immediately at any time.

We've been here several times and are always satisfied. Today we had another fantastic experience. The surf and turf pasta was divine. Super tender fillet and fresh North Sea prawns on delicious pasta with a coconut curry sauce. Super tasty and at a very fair price. The classic – the currywurst – was also excellent again. Combined with the always friendly service and the inviting atmosphere, it's that rare combination that allows us to give everything 5 stars in good conscience. We'll be back!!

Better snack, badly soggy fries, simple salad for good money, expensive aperitif. If you complain about fries you have to pay extra? I'd be happy to do it exactly once and give you a big tip on top! Everything is not worth what is offered, service ignores you. If I know anything different, I'll definitely not visit again. It's a shame for my time and the evening. If this is supposed to be the second best place in SPO according to tripadvisor, then SPO is culinary lost. Nice to sit on, that’s it.

Unfortunately it has worn off. For years a visit to the island has been part of our holiday in SPO, but now the price-performance ratio is no longer right. It seems like you want to be more than you are. A little more down-to-earth would be appropriate here. The menu is a bit confusing and, in contrast to the prices, the selection doesn't really stand out from the competition. Our food was rather average and only lukewarm, served almost too quickly. It was also quite cool in the dining room for this time of year (March), and the guests had scarves or jackets on at several tables. It's a shame, because the room itself is very nicely designed. The friendly staff is particularly positive. You can tell the team is well-coordinated. Overall, the impression remains mixed and we will consider whether we will come here on our next vacation.

We often walked past this restaurant because the prices kept us from going in every time. We like to eat out a lot and that's why we pay attention to it. But this time we were crazy and thought we'd test it out. And what can I say, I have rarely eaten something so tasty. It was all very nice. The service was very friendly, the wine was delicious, we really liked the atmosphere and the food was really, really good. So, in terms of food, an absolute recommendation.

Super nice atmosphere and we even had a table with a large, comfortable velvet armchair. This is great for feeling good and relaxing! In most restaurants the seating is rather uncomfortable. The service was attentive and super friendly. Between the starter and the main course we were even asked if we needed a break. We rarely experience that. Now the most important thing, the food. It was first class delicious. From the island cheese to burgers and waffles, everything was harmonious, well seasoned, sufficiently portioned and tasty. There can be controversial discussions about value and price-performance because there are simply too many perspectives on it. It's not a bargain, but where else can you get it...? And that's why you get the Galloway meat and the "clean" fish, instead of mass-produced goods. We're going there again ☺️

My absolute highlight in SPO. Very family and & dog friendly. Water is always available for the four-legged friends. Super appealing menu & also very tasty. I tried a lot of different foods. There was nothing wrong with it. On the contrary - I could have eaten it more often. The staff are super friendly, we always got a table (whether alone, as a couple or 4 adults with two dogs, toddler & stroller with baby). The service is very well organized, extremely friendly and accommodating. The ambience of the facility is super appealing, whether outside or inside. Everything is very clean.

Our food was at the quality level of a better snack bar. Fish didn't taste like anything. Too bad! Maybe you just ordered the wrong thing? The ambience was nice, but it was definitely too cold for us on a winter day when you feel a bit cold.

The parking lot feels like it's 40 years old and nothing has been done. The restaurant/event room is absolutely outdated both externally and internally. Sure, always polished and cleaned/painted, but the building is old. Neither the architecture nor the spatial effect are of any high quality. Would I recommend it? No! There are worlds better business restaurants and food in Hannover City.

I've been eating on the island off and on for 12 years. The location is great, great staff and I don't really want to miss that. My 3* for the food does not refer to the quality, but to the ever smaller portions and proportionally increasing prices. The price of drinks has also been significantly reduced in recent years and the quantity has been reduced. The relationship no longer fits and so it's really no fun anymore.

Es ist schon eine Glücksache, hier am Wochenende noch einen Platz zu bekommen. Durch die sehr enge Bestuhlung und dem hektischen Treiben geht dann der eigentlich urige Charakter verloren und ähnelt einer Bahnhofshalle. Das ist im Sommer im Außenbereich viel schöner. Das Personal war die harte Arbeit anzumerken, aber Freundlichkeit war stets dabei. Was jetzt zur Kaffee- und Kuchenzeit serviert wurde war okay, aber auch kein Ausreißer nach oben oder unten.

No matter whether it's waffles in the afternoon or dinner: super tasty and friendly service. As quickly as we had our drinks – wow! And that, despite the restaurant being fully booked (Valentine's Day). We were impressed and would love to come back. At most, an online reservation with e.g. B. OpenTable.

Am Abend sind wir spontan ohne Reservierung zur Insel gegangen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und man hat sich in guten Händen gefühlt. Besonders positiv sind uns die Bierdeckel aufgefallen. Diese waren mit unterschiedlichen Sudokus bedruckt und verkürzten einem die Wartezeit. Diese war ohnehin schon kurz. Die Speisekarte bot eine große Vielfalt an. Unsere ausgewählten Gerichte, Angus Burger No. 2 und Bratlinge, waren sehr lecker und sind empfehlenswert. Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhätlnis. Wir kommen wieder.

We have been regularly in SPO for several years. The first time we visited the island we were amazed by the food. Since then, this restaurant has been part of our regular program every time we visit SPO. The food is delicious and the team is really great. My personal highlight - the Mlichreis!

The two of us were here last week and we immediately felt at home. A cozy, modern atmosphere and friendly, uncomplicated service as well as a great and beautifully designed menu welcome you here. The burgers (Galloway No.1 + all cheese burger) and the island fries were really good. The drinks were brought quickly and friendly without a long wait. Conclusion: everything is great here!

We came here for dinner on a recommendation and were very impressed! The menu is manageable, but still offers enough choice for every taste. We had the burger and Labskaus, as well as the fish soup and everything tasted excellent. The portions were really big, freshly prepared and reasonably priced. I think it's particularly nice that a lot of emphasis is placed on the regional origin and seasonal selection of the ingredients, which I'm happy to pay more for. We would love to come back and look forward to being able to use the inviting terrace when the weather improves.
