A great place for breakfast in Goslar. The buffet is always well-stocked, and the service staff is very friendly. We always enjoy coming back to the Butterhanne.

The food is delicious.. This is a place to visit and see ancient things.. There is beautiful music without the restaurant having to turn it on.

Had dinner here tonight. One had a schnitzel, one had a burger, and one had nuggets with fries. There's not much to complain about, and everything was delicious. The schnitzel deducted a star from the meal, but the fresh meat was unfortunately cooked in a deep fryer, not in a pan as it should be! As for the ambiance, the restrooms could use a bit of a clean.

Friendly staff and delicious beers. We sat outside, and the view of the church and historic old town was lovely. I didn't have anything to eat, but the dishes my colleagues had looked very good.

Was here for the breakfast buffet. Pre-ordering probably makes sense, but we were lucky for two people. Interesting ambiance, perhaps a bit dark. Open concept with booths. Several steps inside, so not entirely accessible for disabled people/wheelchair users. Staff are helpful, attentive, and friendly. The buffet was well-attended, with a bit of a wait and a line. However, there are always empty spaces. They try hard to restock food, but it doesn't always work out in a timely manner. So far, everything tasted good, and the price-performance ratio is fair!

I was there for the Old Town Festival in Goslar, so it was my first time as a guest. EVERYTHING was just perfect, and despite the ongoing Old Town Festival and the associated high volume of activity, the service was exceptionally pleasant. Always calm, friendly, etc. And the food is indescribable; you just have to order it and ENJOY.

Yes. The ambiance is simply fantastic. Very friendly and fast service. I love coming here. The highlight: XXL cream puffs filled with ice cream or cherry pudding. Simply irresistible. A cappuccino and a Coke to go with it.

The ambiance is appealing. The service is quick, but impersonal. The food is disappointing. The Alsatian-style tarte flambée was topped with fatty, uncooked bacon (was it even bacon?).

We had Wiener schnitzel with chili sauce and French fries, and it tasted really good and at reasonable prices. A place that gets a lot of guests so reservations are recommended. We will definitely come back. 🙂

Very friendly, fast service. Shaded seating on the terrace in front of the church, across from the town hall and the tourist information office. Very tasty German cuisine: we enjoyed the beef roulade and schnitzel. Fair prices. Clean restrooms, well-lit steps in the dining room. We'd be happy to come back.

It's nice, the cream puffs are amazing (their size, of course), but the cake wasn't that great. 🤷🏼 And as an allergy sufferer, you're a second-class citizen here too...

I really liked the ribs; they were delicious. The gentleman who served us was very friendly. The girls, on the other hand, were very sour-faced and even scolded us for sitting at the wrong table, but no one directed us or showed us to the table; they just nodded. Afterward, the gentleman who served us was very friendly and made us have a good time. We even complimented him on his service.

At first glance, the restaurant made a very inviting and stylish impression. Unfortunately, our experience was severely marred: Although we had specifically ordered chicken schnitzel instead of pork, we found small fried pieces of pork both on the plate and among the side dishes. This was very disappointing and completely inappropriate for us. In addition, we were overcharged, and instead of immediately refunding the difference, we had to wait several days for the refund. This unfortunately further spoiled the overall impression. Overall, a nice place, but the service and lack of attention to detail in the kitchen were truly disappointing – unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience for us.

We were there once for the breakfast buffet and twice for dinner. Great food, great prices, and friendly, attentive staff.

We had an excellent meal today: beef roulade and wild boar sausage. Before that, we had goulash soup. Highly recommended and reasonably priced, too. Friendly, fast, and competent service. We'll be back.

There's plenty of space both inside and outside, and it's very busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Seven of us, including three children, found a place to sit. We didn't have to wait long for the food at all, and everything arrived at the same time. It was extremely tasty and warm to piping hot. Top 👍

We spontaneously dropped in on a Saturday evening without a reservation. We got a seat. The food was once again delicious. The staff was friendly.

We were too far into the Butterhanne. I have my voucher book, which means...2 main courses for the price of one. The order was accepted politely. We had the blueberry schnitzel. The food arrived; one portion looked reasonably good, the second portion was a very, very dark schnitzel. The waiter came back to the table later and asked if everything was okay. We complained about the dark (burnt) schnitzel. There was no response to our comment. I think it's a shame that you get served something like this just because you want something cheaper. Although the voucher book isn't free. I've known the restaurant for 25 years, and I must honestly admit that it has gone downhill.

Delicious delicious food, polite and friendly service, we ate there twice during our holiday, once we sat outside which was nice and the second time we sat inside which had a nice atmosphere.

We had reserved a table for 6:00 PM, but were able to get a table 30 minutes earlier without any problems. The food and service were good, but one would expect the floor in the restaurant to be clean. Unfortunately, the men's restroom was in a very dirty state.

A place with a predictable offer.

Large portions that pack a punch, not only filling you up but also providing an extremely delicious experience. The servers were friendly and very attentive, perhaps a little quick, but that's a positive. The ambiance was very rustic and inviting, just like a good inn where you want to stop and quench your hunger and thirst. Always happy to return. 5*

Nice restaurant, tasty food but too bland for our taste. Biggest problem: The allergen labeling on the menu is incorrect. We ordered nuggets and fries for our son (who is egg-allergic) (they only listed a 1 for gluten). We immediately noticed that the nuggets were homemade, which is fine in principle. When we asked, we were told they were coated in egg. That's absurd and can be life-threatening for allergy sufferers!!! There wasn't even an apology from the staff.

The ambiance was great, but the service was a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the food was just below average.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend who occasionally has breakfast there. We visited for the first time with our two children – and we were thrilled! The staff was consistently friendly, the ambiance very inviting, and the breakfast buffet also impressed us. The value for money is absolutely spot on. We'll definitely be back and look forward to trying more!

Quiet and cheap place, but poor quality food: hot chocolate from a blender and frozen cakes served cold.

For dinner I had the 440g Chili Cheese Schnitzel, a complete disappointment. I regret not taking a photo. The schnitzel was hardly anything like a breaded steak, much too thick, with a coating that was far too dark. The fries were a mix of cold and warm fries. For me, this was a one-off visit. Then we had ciabatta with aioli, thank you for nothing. My son had the spare ribs; if you cover the ribs in hot chilies, you should mention it on the menu. My wife had the baked potato with chicken breast. The sprouts and the fruity salad were unfortunately nowhere to be found. What a shame, we definitely won't be coming back for dinner.

A truly beautiful, rustic restaurant. It's a great place to come as a group and sit inside. When it's full, it gets quite loud, but you can still talk and hear each other.

We went there for breakfast with a larger group. The ambiance and service are fantastic, surrounded by Goslar's city center. The staff is super friendly, and our every need was met. Everything was available for breakfast, although sometimes it was a bit hidden, so be sure to check everything carefully when you go to the buffet :) We'd love to come back!

I have to divide this review into two parts. First, there's the quality of the food. There's nothing to complain about here. Wonderful schnitzel, tender, aromatic roast beef with onions, delicious sauerfleisch (sauerfleisch) with fried potatoes. Simply wonderful. The two burgers we ordered weren't so great. They would certainly have been just as tasty as the other dishes if they'd still been warm. And that brings me to the unfortunately negative part. The staff were completely overwhelmed and disorganized. We waited almost an hour for the food. Ordering a Coke took half an hour, including two re-orders. That's very sad, because we've had a completely different, better experience at Butterhanne. So, a lovely family afternoon came to a not-so-nice end.

Avoid! Nothing is homemade, it's just low-end rehashed food that isn't even good. We were put in a large, not-at-all-warm room upstairs where equipment is stored.

We visited Butterhanne three times. The first was for a Winbeutel (wine bag). This one was a statement. If you don't have much room in your belly, you'll have to settle for a size L. ;-) Our server was also delightful, attentive, and friendly despite the crowd. So we came back in the evening. It was also delicious and relaxed. We made a reservation for breakfast and were not disappointed. It was very lovingly prepared, with plenty of variety, and delicious. Thank you for the wonderful time in this restaurant and a big thank you to the enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team!

While looking for a piece of cake and coffee, we stumbled upon this restaurant. We ordered the cream puff, which was absolutely enormous. It was so cozy that we went back later, at dinnertime. The waiter, who served us very friendly despite the huge crowd, was not entirely innocent. When we discovered that they also offer breakfast, the next morning was perfect. We reserved a table, which was a plus, and were treated to a lavish breakfast buffet that was well worth the price. If you're thinking about going to Butterhanne, don't hesitate and go in.

We had an all-you-can-eat breakfast at this restaurant, and the value for money was excellent. Everything was delicious and fresh. And the dinner was also delicious, freshly prepared, so you're happy to wait a bit longer on a Saturday night. We were lucky and were able to sit outside both in the morning and in the evening.

Good experience. Service was a bit slow, but the atmosphere made up for it. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. But you should try their Windbeutel, just for the experience. Get the large one and share it between you.

We were able to take the leftovers home. Despite being busy, the wait was not long. Not until we ordered until we got the food.

Dårlig mad og dårlig betjening. Bestilte en bøf medium Well, som kom ud rå. Den blev sendt tilbage og kom MEGET rød tilbage. Tjenerne var meget irriterede over dette. Derudover var det umuligt for dem at komme med alle drikkevarer i selskabet, på trods af vi henvendte os flere gange ang de manglende drikke. Da maden endelig kom var den højest intetsigende. Til gengæld er det super dyrt. Anbefalingen er - find et andet sted!

Really good restaurant with super service

Sorry! I just saw what I'm writing about. We saw the world's largest representative doughnut here from the terrace of the neighboring pub (you could see how big it was from there). It was at least 4-6 servings. It must have been delicious, because both gentlemen ate their portion. But only those with the biggest capacity should ask for it!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. We had Jägerschnitzel with fries (€17.99) and Matcha potatoes and sour cream, apples, and cucumber sauce (€14.99). The schnitzel was dry, and the sauce was from a bucket. The Matcha to the salty sour cream sauce was just mayo. The price is unfortunately too high for the quality of the food.

All in all, really good. There are only a few minor complaints, albeit at a high level. The schnitzels would certainly have been even better if they had been pounded. The mushroom sauce was really excellent. I've rarely eaten such good fried potatoes. Starter: tarte flambée wedges with garlic herb pesto and aioli... amazing! Small criticism of the service: a note that the large schnitzels are almost twice as big would have been the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a photo of the schnitzel. Even the side dish was prepared with attention to detail and was truly top-notch.

Delicious food in a great location

Unfortunately, the asparagus soup was a bit watery, and the fried potatoes were mushy and lacked bacon and onions. My husband had steak with it, which was very tasty. I had the beef roulade with red cabbage and hash browns. It was actually very tasty, but the red cabbage was too sweet. My son had a burger with fries...highly recommended. My daughter-in-law had currywurst with fries. It was also delicious. The portions were large enough. The service was super friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

We had a very good meal here. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas in Goslar's old town. They immediately brought us a water bowl for our dog. There was also live singing that day. 🙂 We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Schnitzel was extremely thick, marbled, and greasy. The cheese spaetzle tasted "weird" and was too greasy.

Everyone has to decide for themselves. For us the food was too salty.
