Die Butterhanne in Goslar

I would rename the restaurant “Fritteusenhanne”. Unfortunately my cell phone was in the car, the "venison bratwurst" was a frozen product. The fries were over it. That garlic baguette was simply soaked in oil. The starter and main course came at the same time. When I commented on this, the answer was that the chef was very busy. Then hire a second person, or someone who can handle the stress in the kitchen.

An exceptionally beautiful and cozy cafe! Friendly, very courteous service, a great selection and everything was very tasty and cheap too! I would do it again and again.

The food was actually quite tasty. However, my schnitzel and potatoes were a little greasy. The schnitzel was also a little too thick for my taste. He liked my husband's butter spaetzle. However, all in all it was a bit too little. The atmosphere could be a little nicer. Something could be changed there. The restaurant was well attended. The service staff were very helpful.

Food was quite ok. However, they were sitting in the hall upstairs. Very loud and uncomfortable there. At the next table there was a larger group celebrating their party and making speeches. Very uncomfortable if you sit right next to it, maybe it would be better to close the hall for the party. Service was very attentive and nice.

We were there three times in one week and tested everything from breakfast to dinner. We were completely satisfied every time! The service is great, the food is really great and the atmosphere is very nice. We'll definitely be back!

Was also there for a steak dinner last year. This time I was there for a steak dinner with a friend. My rump steak was good, unfortunately my friend had “several” tendons. Side dishes and sauce were very good. I can also recommend the “all-you-can-eat” breakfast buffet, which I have enjoyed several times. Very friendly and competent service as well as service and food quickly.

Shortly before Corona we went to the Christmas market in Goslar and Werner then had dinner at Butterhanne... My wife and I were so happy that we wanted to go there again... Unfortunately they completely changed the menu and that Food wasn't as great as it used to be... It's a shame...

Delicious food in a beautiful, historical atmosphere. You just have to take a look at the beautiful exterior facade of the inn with its centuries-old half-timbered structure! The service is very quick and attentive. We ate outside and when we went to the (clean) toilets, it felt like there was an employee on every corner who was there for the guests.

Very tasty food, large portions, super friendly staff. We had a dog with us and a water bowl was brought straight away. We were really satisfied.

Today we spontaneously went to Butterhanne and had a dog with us. The waitress was super friendly and immediately brought water for the dog. Food and drinks arrived quickly and were very tasty. There is also a rustic ambience and a relaxed atmosphere despite the full house. I'd love to come back.

Was here for the first time on Sunday evening. I ordered a steak - medium well - unfortunately it was anything but that, it was almost bloody. If you offer steak, the cooking levels must also work. Unfortunately, the waitress was just annoyed by my complaint, which didn't exactly make for a good mood. There were no spoons for the iced chocolate, we had to ask first, then at least there was a small coffee spoon for a glass twice as tall. In another dish the potatoes were rock hard. I don't have to go there again. However, one waiter, a tall young man, was very nice and friendly.

I can only recommend it. Very tasty and large portions.

Spontaneously got a table again 😃 Very friendly service. Food and drinks came quickly. Unfortunately my onion schnitzel was in a pool of grease, but it still tasted very good 👍 with the espresso afterwards there was even a glass of water + biscuit! We'll definitely be back

One of our absolute favorite restaurants. In summer you can sit outside under the market church and in cooler times inside. Reservations are highly recommended if you want to sit inside. The food, coffee and service are simply great. We were "forgotten" when we wanted to pay last time, but we were able to do that quickly and easily at the counter :-)

For 17.60 I imagined the best burger I've ever eaten. The burger was mediocre with a lot of fries. I also ordered mayo with it, otherwise the food would have been very dry!

On Tuesday at the best lunch time I managed to get a free table without booking in advance. Very friendly staff, the food was great. I've never had such delicious onion schnitzel.

The Butterhanne has been one of our fixed destinations on every holiday for many years when it comes to culinary delights! This time we were there for lunch and were happy to get a seat despite the full house. As always, the service was great and very friendly! Despite the full tables, no one in the team shows any signs of stress and looks after every guest in a very friendly manner! The dishes we chose were incredibly delicious again this time 🤩👌👌👌 So if you are in Goslar or the surrounding area and want to eat delicious food, Butterhanne is the perfect place for you 🙂 We look forward to your next visit!

Good food, very friendly service!

We were there with the current Goslar/Harz voucher book and got a main course and an ice cream sundae for free. 😊👍🏻🍽🍨 The service was very friendly. The wait for the food wasn't long. The restaurant is quite rustic and therefore has a special charm. The rump steak was medium, perfectly grilled to perfection. The schnitzels were very well fried, not too thin and still juicy, the sauce was very good. The fries and sweet potato fries were good too. Overall very tasty. 😋👍🏻 The chocolate ice cream had some ice crystals on it, but was still okay. The walnut ice cream was very good, as was the espresso. 🍨☕️ CONCLUSION: We have each been to Butterhanne many times. However, my experiences in recent years have been of somewhat variable quality. 🤷🏻‍♂️ However, we were very satisfied with this visit and would love to do it again. 👍🏻

We were there for the breakfast buffet. Very good selection of different types of cheese, ham, sausage, quark, jams. Side dishes such as cucumbers, sausage salad, tomatoes. Fresh scrambled eggs and crispy bacon ham. Selection of bread and rolls. Coffee, tea and orange juice. Very nice reception. The tasteful furnishings as well as friendly and attentive service made the morning a very pleasant visit to the Butterhanne. We'd love to come back.

The restaurant is very nice and gives you a friendly feeling. At the same time, the reception by the waiters is equally beautiful and friendly. The food looks very good and is also very tasty, the portions are enough to fill you up (we were hungry when we arrived). I also recommend the traditional "Windbeutel" dessert.

Regular food for reasonable money. Maybe a little boring.

Even on a Thursday in mid-October it is advisable to book a table. We were there early and managed to get a spot for two people. Wild bratwurst and goulash are highly recommended. We had previously taken the mini train ride through the town and knew the history of its namesake, very interesting.

We keep coming back, that says it all. 😉

It's a quaint shop. The staff is very friendly. Even if it's a bit intimidating when you're there for the first time and are greeted by several people right at the entrance. The food is good, the price/performance ratio is perfectly fine. They are good portions. The cream puff is awesome in two sizes L and XL.. definitely try it

I've been to the "Butterhanne" several times, but I never knew how big this restaurant was. Very nice service, careful and quick. My schnitzel could have been hotter, but the fried potatoes were great. We'll be back.

Friendly and competent team, delicious and hearty food and a rustic, cozy atmosphere. We always feel welcome, especially enjoy the blueberry sour cream schnitzel, the Angus burger, the Barbarossa beer and are amazed at these mega cream puffs 😃.

This time we stopped at Butterhanne for lunch during our visit to Goslar. Very cozy interior, warm atmosphere. You immediately felt at home and were noticed and welcomed by the staff. The food was good, but still has room for improvement.

Maybe we had a bad day. 5 out of 8 meals were faulty. Goulash cold, steak not done as ordered, changed side dishes not taken into account. Everything was corrected, an apology was made and it tasted good, but we have had much better experiences in other, comparable restaurants. The air was also quite stale.

Highly recommended, the food was delivered quickly and was delicious. The restaurant was well attended. The only drawback that I didn't like so much was an unclean toilet. But this is also because some men cannot correctly estimate the distance to the urinal.

We were there once in the evening and once in the morning for breakfast. First of all, the ambience; That just fits perfectly with the rustic character of Goslar. The staff also have a similar touch of humor, it's fun here. The dinner was really great. Home-style, hearty, that's what we wanted and we were very happy. The breakfast buffet was small but nice. If you're expecting fancy specialties here, you'll be disappointed - otherwise you'll get a solid breakfast that'll get you in the mood for a day of hiking for little money. A small drawback is the volume. Due to the open restaurant and the high number of visitors, it can sometimes be very loud. But that can hardly be prevented and is more than justifiable, hence the deserved full five stars.

As a local resident, we used the restaurant in a central location. All 6 of us enjoyed the food very much. Vegetarian dishes were also great and the portions were large. The service was friendly, including to our children, and also found solutions to other problems warmly and decisively.

We spontaneously went to Butterhanne for breakfast and dinner. Super nice service and our dog was more than welcome. Breakfast buffet was great, everything your heart desired was there! We got a seat for dinner and had an excellent schnitzel and a delicious burger. Be careful with dessert: XL also means XL, not like so often elsewhere, where the portions are more normal😉 Any time!

Well, this location is difficult to rate. I was there a few times when I was visiting Goslar. The location right on the market square is unbeatable and the service is just as friendly. But with the food there (whether breakfast or dinner) I was always disappointed. Absolutely lousy quality! It's best if you just have a drink here.

We don't even want to know how big the XL size is. We all had a good time eating ours. We now often visited Butterhanne for various meals. Everything was always at its best. The Butterhanne Goslar is always worth a visit.

My baked potato was old. It was already completely dried out and dark on the sides. My partner's Jägerschnitzel seriously had 5 mushroom slices on it. You really can't offer that!

Rude service by female waiter. We arrived at 20:45 and were assigned a table and told to order food quickly as they wanted to close the kitchen soon. 20:48 the female waiter came and asked if we had made up our minds, we hadn't, so we asked for a few minutes to interpret the German menus. 20:50 we ordered dessert twice and got scolded, because now they had kept the kitchen open just for us, and they don't make dessert in the kitchen (1: how were we supposed to know, and 2: where do they make it? ). In general, German waiters are very service minded, but here they took the prize. My much-sung windbeutel was a dry water cake with whipped cream and ice cream, and my friend's cherry pie had a nice taste, but also a cherry stone, which fortunately did not destroy his teeth. All in all, poor experience and will not spend money there again.

Perfekte Lage direkt an der Stadtkirche. Wir haben 1x zu Abend gegessen und waren 2x zum Frühstück dort. Essen: insgesamt sehr gut, beim Frühstücksbuffet wurde sehr schnell nachgelegt, Kaffee gab es „ohne Ende“. Ich würde das Frühstück als rustikal bezeichnen, eben keine Extras wie in anderen Hotels, die dann auch bezahlt werden müssen. Für uns gab es alles, was wir gerne essen - und davon reichlich. Das große Frühstücksbuffet zum Preis von 11,60 € ist erstaunlich günstig. Dazu das super engagierte Personal - das auch von den anderen Gösten gelobt wurde. sehr aufmerksam, fleißig, schnell und immer eine flotten Spruch auf der Zunge. Eine absolute Empfehlung
