My boyfriend and I received a super warm welcome. We ordered in a relaxed atmosphere. Chill music was playing in the background. The food was absolutely delicious! Spicy, but good :) The waiter was also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious!!! If you're unfamiliar with West African cuisine, do some research beforehand to find out what's on your plate. The owner didn't seem particularly pleased to have us as guests and served us rather unenthusiastically, offering no advice whatsoever. He also didn't speak German. The restaurant is small and quite cold inside. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant is very popular due to its excellent food!

A quaint Ghanaian restaurant nestled in a culturally vibrant borough in Berlin consistently offering tasty meals. The is considerably small so larger groups might not be ideal, and it gets busy especially on the weekends. However this places delivers really nice service and i always enjoyed coming here or bringing my friends here.

They overcharged 12 Euros (47 instead of 35). We had to wait forever for the plantaines (they came when we were basically leaving). Not going there again.

Small but excellent. Only 6 tables inside, but it's worth the wait. Orders arrive very quickly, and the selection is fantastic. Typical Ghanaian food; if you want to try a bit more, order the mixed platter, which can be ordered with chicken. You'll definitely leave satisfied. We love coming here.

The shop is small and simple, and the employees were very friendly and helped me with my selection. We had fufu with peanut sauce and banku with okra sauce, both of which were delicious. I would come back to try other dishes. By the way, you can only pay with cash.

Unfortunately, it was rather disappointing… the food was okay, the service was practically nonexistent, the dishes didn't arrive at the same time, and the entrance door to the restaurant was constantly open even though customers were sitting inside wearing winter jackets. A bit of friendliness and attentiveness would do the place good.

We were overcharged, €8 overcharged, which I didn't realize until I was already outside. €40 for two fufu and one drink. That's completely unacceptable, and something like that simply shouldn't happen. Furthermore, the beef was so incredibly tough that I didn't eat any of it. They also got a tip from me, which, in retrospect, is unjustified when they simply demand an amount that isn't right. Be careful how much you pay and what the dishes actually cost.

I've been to DidiPa several times and was satisfied – but this time it was really bad. The waitress was incredibly unfriendly. I barely had a few perfectly normal questions about the menu when he just said, annoyed, "I'll be back in five minutes once you've decided." – but I just wanted to understand something, not spend ages thinking about it. When I asked again, he pretended I didn't understand the menu and seriously asked me if I understood English. I was completely stunned! I've rarely experienced such disrespect – FYI: I'm a foreign language correspondent and speak four languages, one of which is English. :) The food was good, as always, but after this experience, I honestly had no appetite. When you're treated like that, you simply lose the desire to go back.

We ate here today (September 27th) and we really enjoyed it. We had fufu with peanut soup. The meat was very juicy, the fufu was delicious, and the portions were large and tasty. What's also particularly nice is that everything is very clean and there's a good selection of drinks for everyone. The food isn't too spicy, so it's perfect for those who are sensitive to spicy food. The staff are very nice and friendly. It's definitely worth a visit!

Dirty place, unclean plates and glasses, staff not welcoming. I felt like I wasn’t welcome at all. I’m from Canada and just moved to Berlin for my studies, and I wanted to try a new restaurant and discover new flavors. Instead, I had an unpleasant experience, and to top it off, I was charged 26 euros for just a plate of rice with some sauce… Honestly, this is a restaurant to avoid.

very tasty and excellent service! a lot of things are spicy without saying so on the menu. if you can’t handle spice it’s best to ask the workers for recommendations. everyone was very welcoming and helpful they even gave us extra soup to try out. personally i thought everything was seasoned perfectly especially loved the spicy tomato paste that comes with the vegan rice dishes. jollof rice and waakye were a bit dry but tasty nonetheless. fufu with vegan kontomire and egusi stew was very flavourful and pleasantly spicy. definitely worth a try!

This restaurant is not at all suitable for people who don't like spicy food or can't tolerate it. The food here was generally very tasty, but it wasn't possible to order a dish that wasn't spicy or only slightly spicy. The service wasn't particularly accommodating, so I had Jollof rice. But that was also spicy, so unfortunately, I ended up not being able to eat anything. What I did try was very tasty. Unfortunately, the menu didn't mention the spiciness of the food; I could only ask... The service was also rather unfriendly and irritable, and I didn't feel particularly welcome.

Didi PA is a friendly west African (Gahna) restaurant, serving real food. A short walking distance from HermanPlaz U-Bahn, in a somewhat rough area of Berlin. The dishes are generous and full of unique spices, with some Chillies too. You can eat with your hands but other options are available. We took the Fufu chicken and Julouf with fish that were both very good. There are a few local drinks and you can get some deserts too. We went for a Baklawa nearby. Highly recommended experience

I've always wanted to try African food and of course I came for the FuFu. I found it quite spicy, although that's not the restaurant's fault, of course, but rather my European palate. I thought it was really great that they also offer vegan dishes. I'm glad I've finally gotten a taste for Fufu. A local also pointed out to us that you eat the dish with your fingers, but we'd just gotten out of the subway and found it a bit unhygienic. So please don't come for us, next time I'll have tissues in my handbag 🤭 Unfortunately, I didn't think it looked that great, which is why we left straight after eating. Still, a great insider tip!!

Fufu to fall in love with – super delicious, spicy, and hearty! We visited DidiPaa during our Berlin trip (July 24–28) and were immediately given a very warm welcome. Although we would have preferred to eat outside and unfortunately there were no tables available, we still felt comfortable inside. The service was super friendly from the start – a young lady in particular gave us really good advice. I immediately mentioned that I wasn't very familiar with the cuisine, but I really wanted to try fufu – and she immediately took the time to explain everything to us in detail. My girlfriend and I both opted for the peanut soup with fufu – we were totally hyped about it and were absolutely not disappointed. It was super, super delicious! A special highlight for me: The fufu was really spicy – exactly my thing! I love spice, and it was perfectly balanced here – spicy, intense, but not overly so. The portion was quite large – in retrospect, we perhaps should have had one fufu and one jollof rice to try even more. And personally, I would have preferred beef instead of the chicken leg – it was a little too much for me, but that's a matter of taste. All in all: simply delicious all around. And what can I say: I ate fufu on the first day of our stay in Berlin – and in the days that followed, I kept saying how much I'd love to have fufu again! 😄 Conclusion: For anyone who wants to try fufu or West African food – DidiPaa is a solid 10/10. Delicious, spicy, hearty – we'll definitely be back!

I have an African friend and asked him what his favourite authentic African food place was. He named me DIDI PA as the place to be, so I went here with high hopes after already having tried solid authentic freshly cooked African food in Berlin. But boy was it disappointing. The food is preprepped in tiny buckets and you basically get food served like in the cantina. Which in principle is fine but then the price has to be accordingly. But it's not. This eatery charges restaurant prices for food stall level food. Which was fine but not really special. And in combination with the price it was really disappointing. Looking for an authentic African food experience go to next level African food or Senegambia. Both incredible and cheaper.

Food good otherwise rather run down

Without exaggerating, this was the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced. The food was absolutely not tasty. The fish was so dry, and the food was generally lukewarm and not fresh, making it anything but tasty. The cashier couldn't give me a receipt and was frantically typing numbers into a calculator. I'm sure I paid more than I got. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Rice with chicken fufu with peanut sauce 10/10

The restaurant is more like a snack bar, very small and incredibly hot and cramped in the summer. Sitting outside is better, but a bit uncomfortable on the wooden chairs, right next to the relatively noisy street. Unfortunately, the service was not good; you receive an annoyed greeting, and then we waited 15 minutes for someone to bring us a menu... no one came, so we got it ourselves from inside. Eventually, our orders were taken, but again, they weren't friendly. The food itself (fufu egusi/kontomire and peanut fufu with beef) was okay; the egusi dish was very spicy, even though it wasn't advertised. The peanut sauce was tastier. The fufu was pretty bland for me personally and could have used some salt—but there was no salt or pepper on the table. The water bowl you get for your fingers is a shabby blue plastic bowl—it ​​could certainly be easily upgraded. Overall, it's quite expensive for the inadequate service, mediocre food, and uncomfortable atmosphere.

We'd been looking for a good West African restaurant for a while and found a really great one here on the outskirts of Kreuzberg. The service was unassumingly friendly, the decor simple, and the food simply excellent. There's a few seats inside and outside if you're lucky. Digitalkamera Pa's special mix with chicken was simply delicious. Every sauce was excellent, the rice sauces were delicious, and the chicken was juicy. The kelewele was very tasty, and the sodas were very good. Highly recommended!

We had decided to try African food and came across DIDI PA online. When we arrived, we were delighted. We had a mixed rice platter with a small salad and chicken thighs. It tasted very good. They also served banana leaves with peanuts. It was delicious. The shop is very small, but okay.

Only the food was quite tasty and nicely served but the service from the very beginning increased this reluctance to eat in this place. Poor interest in the customer from the very beginning through the entire process of eating the meal until its end. How can you charge the customer talking on the phone or more precisely with the receiver in your ear.. and make a mistake..XD.. I have never experienced this in my country and here it looks like zero respect. In general, the place is very cold, without atmosphere, without any West African music... only the guy meowing to the rhythm of his music from his inseparable receiver :)

I love eating there!! Regardless of whether it was a good day or a bad day, when I go to Didi Pa I always feel better afterwards. A warm heart and a full belly are the only things you need! Kind regards ❤️

Absolutely disappointing and unprofessional A visit to this West African restaurant was an impertinence. It is simply unacceptable to be ignored for over 30 minutes despite asking to order multiple times. The staff seemed overwhelmed, disorganized and unfortunately made little effort to pay any attention to the guests. The narrow, crowded atmosphere does the rest: you sit close together, hardly any space to move, no privacy, an unpleasant noise level - anything but a place to feel good. The impression is that neither service nor atmosphere have any importance here. It's a real shame, because West African cuisine has so much to offer - but in this restaurant, this potential is unfortunately completely wasted. Definitely not a recommendation.

It's my first time eating Fufu. I ordered it with Light soup and beef. The food was not bad. I personally want it more flavorful but it's probably not the concept of the "light" soup. 😅 I have no idea. Service would be great if the staff didn't let me wait for too long even though I was the only customer at the the moment. I tipped him ~8% which I think it's not too little but he didn't say "thank you" or any show any appreciation unlike in other restaurants. It's a small thing but it really surprised me. I couldn't finish the meal there, so I asked to take away. The packaging was not suitable for the soup and leaked everywhere. I would recommend paper bowls with lid instead. Maybe it's because of cultural differences in terms of hospitality, this restaurant could not leave a great impression on me. Anyway, it's great that I tried an unfamiliar cuisine.

The food was super tasty. Unfortunately, the vegan awards and the allergens are declared somewhat contradictory. This is where improvements should be made. The restaurant doesn't invite you to linger, which is a shame. The service was always tried.

In the middle of Neukölln's Sonnenallee a real alternative to the many Arabic restaurants in the area, simple, small but nice, cheap and very tasty 😋 in the warm months you can also sit outside.

New to Berlin and wanted a taste of African food. I ordered for the waakye with grilled chicken and it was super delicious 😋. The price was very affordable. The service was great and the food also arrived within 10 minutes. The African musics played made the whole experience great.

Friendly staff Gooooooood food And amazing service

We were so looking forward to the evening and the food, we really wanted to eat fufu and were absolutely disappointed. After waiting about 30 minutes for a table, we were assigned a table by the overwhelmed waiter. I'll keep it short: the starter (plantains) came in the middle of the main course. The fufu in sauce was cold and so spicy that you couldn't eat it. My husband had something with beef and the sauce was not only cold but also slimy.

I ordered fufu with egusi. Its the first time trying both dishes. The fufu was made out of potato and had a good consistency I would say. The egusi had fresh onions slices and carrots, it was crunchy. I did like it. It wasn’t too much oil, which i would have preferred anyways. It was spicy too, i think german could handle it with a little but of difficulty 🤣. The waiter was fast and the food was in almost 10 min there. The toilet could use a removation tho. In general was the place good looking and comfortable.

I called hours in advance to make a birthday reservation. When we arrived it took an hour until we got a suitable table. Eating then took another 60 minutes and the individual dishes were brought with a long delay. The service is really unfriendly. Prices are comparatively too expensive. It's a shame... I'm Ghanaian myself and find it sad that this restaurant should be the showcase for West African cuisine in NK. Luckily there are now enough other African restaurants/street food. I can't recommend it more 👎🏽

Didi Pa, your portions are not ok! I just spend 23,59€ on Wolt to order yam and meat. Honestly I’m disappointed : 6 pieces of yam and 4 pieces of beef!this is not ok, this is not ok at all. I have been supporting since the opening and with the time you guys exaggerate too much with the prices and portions. At least if I pay that much money I deserve to have more yam. We are Africans and we know that yam is not as much expensive like caviar 🙄

We were here in a small group. We all enjoyed the food very much. We didn't have to wait and the service was very friendly. At the end of November we sat down to eat with jackets on; unfortunately it was very cold in the small snack bar.

Totally delicious! Really wanted to try fufu and WOW 10/10 fufu. It was the first time for me to have fufu and it was so great with peanut soup with beef. Always a pleasure, totally authentic atmosphere.

We get there from the other end of town with a reserved table at the pre-arranged time and you tell us there is no table and to wait outside in the cold??? Simply unacceptable.

First time fufu and it was way better then i expected!

I wanted to go for my birthday, reserved a table in advance online and got no confirmation by email. They clearly said on the website, wait our confirmation. So I called two days after by phone & they confirmed my reservation. That was some days in advance. When we arrived on my birthday I saw that the whole restaurant was packed. Spoke with the staff, he checked the calendar, no reservation. Pretty disappointing. Also straight from the first call the staff was quite rude.

I went to this place today with a friend of mine cause we wanted to try fufu. I really liked the food and the owner was really kind. I would recommend this place. If you don’t like spicy food you should probably not try it, but if you like spicy food this is the perfect place to go to :)
