Very, very tasty food with vegan and meat options. We had Peanut Chicken, Peanut Vegan and Red Red Fish. Everything really good! The peanut sauce was fantastic. Red Red Fish also tasted great, but was a bit dry - but it went great with coleslaw salad. And the boss and her employee were super friendly. We'd love to see you come back soon.

The food is excellent!!! It’s light, it’s elegant yet so flavorful. The ananas beer is also amazing, very much recommended! Such a hidden gem!

Had the vegetarian Jollof rice and vegan hot peanut and both dishes were absolutely delicious! Ingredients are fresh and everything is so tasty and spicy. Definitely coming back!

Ghanaian restaurant in the Arminius market hall. Basic seating but the original kitchen and great service makes up for the hard seating. The operators are extremely nice and helpful. I haven't had as much fun and eaten as well as I did here in a long time. Thumbs up 👍👍👍

Super friendly and courteous service! We shared Jollof Rice with chicken and coleslaw and were not disappointed. Without the coleslaw the dish would have been a bit dry, but it was just right in addition to the chicken thighs. The prices are a little higher (approx. 18 €), but given the location in the Armenius market hall, this is understandable as the stalls are all in the higher price category. Clear recommendation!

Here's the backstory as to why I tried out Asaanka: I have traveled to 60+ countries, but had decided to venture out of my comfort zone and vacation for one week in Ghana, what would be my first sub-Saharan country. I had booked a flight and reserved accommodations. All that was left was to get a visa. WARNING: do NOT wait, as I did, until a few weeks before departure to apply for a visa to Ghana. The online form was really complicated and took me several hours before it accepted everything I was required to enter. I didn't realize that not until then can you reserve an appointment at the embassy in Berlin. Thus rather last-minute, on that day I brought everything required as well as a few additional supporting documents, just in case. When it was my turn the consular officer found that everything was in order ... but requested yet one more document, one that was not even mentioned during the application procedure! I didn't have it with me, and as I walked away from the embassy I realized that even if I were able to provide that document within a couple of days, my passport + visa would probably not arrive before my flight's departure. Thus I hastily canceled all my hotels, but I lost the non-refundable 500 EUR flight. That's the backstory. On the first day that I would have been in Accra, I decided to look for a Ghanaian restaurant here in Berlin and found Asaanka. Mission accomplished. Great food. Friendly service. Too bad it wasn't in Ghana.

Fantastic place, very clean, well organized. The staff and the amazing chef Edna were very sweet and nice. The food is an wonderful as the staff and you can't go wrong with anything that you order. If you want authentic Ghanaian food then Asaanka kitchen is your place to go.

Außerordentlich nettes, liebenswürdiges Personal und sehr leckeres Essen. Habe mittlerweile alle Gerichte durchprobiert und jedes hat mir gut geschmeckt. Kann asaanka jedem bedenkenlos empfehlen, der eine Abwechslung zu bereits bekannten Küchen sucht.

Die Kochbananen waren super lecker. Das Dju Dju Bier auch. Werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!!

We had the peanut chicken and jollof rice and it was soooooooooo tasty!!! 10/10 will definitely be one of our go to places. Please don't ever change your recipes! 😍 Also recommend the pineapple or passion fruit dju dju beer

Es gibt nur drei Gerichte, alle in Fleischvariante oder vegan/vegetarisch. Preislich um die 15€. Wir hatten das Red Red Vegan und das Reisgericht (Jaloof?). Beides war hervorragend und mit Liebe zubereitet. Selten hat uns Essen so glücklich gemacht. Die Zubereitung dauert recht lange, weil jedes Gericht frisch zubereitet wird. Für uns war es kein Problem. Die Verkäuferin/Köchin war äußerst freundlich und sympathisch. Empfehlenswert.

Wow! Located in a vibrant market place this is a gem! Offering limited menu of vegan and non vegan options the food is just amazing! Fully home made, but the boundary was crossed and it’s not something you will make at home. Highly recommended. (On the photo: RedRed vegan dish)

Really nice food. Tasty, flavorfull, with good ingredients, and nicely served. Totally worth the price of 11-15 eur per dish. Chilly sauces and Dju dju flavored beer are also a nice complementing the dish!

Das Essen ist super lecker gekocht, der Service freundlich und die Preise wirklich in Ordnung. Wenn man mal eine Abwechslung von Pizza, Burger und Nudeln braucht ist man hier genau richtig.

Very tasty food without being too heavy on the spices. Good vegetarian and vegan options and runs roughly around 11 euros per person. Hot sauce can be pretty spicy but very tasty and a good complement on the food. The djudju beer is also great and one should get it if one has never tried it.

Super nice place. Strongly recommend for lunch or dinner. The hot peanut is absolutely amazing!!
