Hausmannskost aus Ghana in entspannter Atmosphäre. Essen mit ganz besonderen Geschmackserlebnissen und Afrobeats für gute Stimmung. Großzügige Portionen, freundlicher und netter Service, unkompliziertes Ambiente. Eine schöne Zeit mit netten Menschen. 😊

Um überhaupt die Speisekarte zu erhalten, mussten wir mehrmals auf uns aufmerksam machen und diese schlussendlich auch selbst holen, obwohl nicht viel los war. Als wir dann bestellen wollten, die gleiche Prozedur, denn sie telefonierte lieber als unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Nach 30 - 40 min Wartezeit konnten wir endlich bestellen, wobei die Bedienung weder freundlich noch hilfsbereit war. Dass wir uns unsere bereits bestellten Getränke selbst holen mussten, erfuhren wir von anderen Gästen nach weiteren 20 Minuten. Das Essen war lecker, aber eher mäßig im Vergleich zu anderen westafrikanischen Restaurants und die über einstündige Wartezeit definitiv nicht wert. Bezahlen sollten wir dann nach Aufforderung der Bedienung und als wir überrascht reagierten, da niemand die Rechnung gefordert hatte, wurden wir beschimpft. Dennoch wollten wir natürlich bezahlen, da wir bemerkten dass wir hier nicht mehr erwünscht waren. Aber auch dieser Prozess dauerte weitere 20 min. Obwohl es nicht mal von uns initiiert wurde mussten wir wieder mehrmals auf uns aufmerksam machen bis wir nach 2,5 Stunden endlich gehen konnten. Fazit: Sehr Lange Wartezeiten, viel Eigeninitiative, unfreundliche Bedienung. Essen okay.

Das Essen war köstlich! Wir hatten Jolof-Reis mit Hühnchen, der einfach fantastisch war. Das Hühnchen war super saftig und der Reis mit den Soßen sehr schmackhaft. Auch das Chakery-Joghurtgetränk war sehr lecker. Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir nur bar oder per PayPal bezahlen können.

Wir kamen fast eine Stunde vor Ladenschluss an und die Bedienung teilte uns mit, dass es nur noch Jollof-Reis mit Hühnchen gäbe, da die Küche gleich schloss. Also bestellten wir das einzig verfügbare Gericht. Das Hühnchen war das trockenste Hühnchen, das ich je gegessen habe, und der Reis war zwar ölig, aber gleichzeitig auch trocken. Ich hatte keine großen Erwartungen, aber trotzdem war es eine Fehlentscheidung. Wir verließen das Lokal hungrig und mussten unbedingt noch etwas essen gehen. 🥲 Außerdem konnte man dort nur bar bezahlen.

Alles, was wir bestellt haben, war hervorragend gewürzt und sehr lecker. Die Portionen waren großzügig und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

To be honest, we need more West African kitchens in this city. Everyone should, at least once in their lifetime, taste something that is uniquely flavored and beautifully made with love. Asanka bei Joe is the spot to discovery a new teste hand down. You wont be disappointed.

Small African restaurant right by the train station. We ordered Jollof rice with grilled tilapia to go. The staff was friendly and efficient. The music in the restaurant was too loud for our taste. The food itself was fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection. The rice was very well seasoned. A delight to the last bite. Cash only. Highly recommended!

We were there to try West African food for the first time (fufu, we were excited). From the outside, you might be a bit skeptical at first, but that didn't stop us from stepping foot in the restaurant. The owner was very, very friendly and asked us to sit down and look at the menu. The restaurant reminded me of a solid restaurant you'd find in Cuba (I realize the two aren't comparable, it just occurred to me). It still has everything you need for a relaxed dining experience. The tables are close together, without feeling cramped. The food was very, very delicious and a true explosion of flavors. We all (4 people) chose a different dish and each tried a different dish. The chef in the kitchen knows his craft and served us wonderful dishes. The only thing to note is that you should definitely mention when ordering whether you like your food spicy or not so spicy. I would like to... Thank you for the great music and your hospitality, we'd love to come back and recommend you to others.

The portions were huge. I had Fufu with a spicy tomato soup and meat chunks. Omg, it was so delicious.. so incredibly flavourful and the meat was so soft and tender. I was so full but couldn't stop eating. The Jollof Rice and the fried plantains with the spicy dipping sauce were also so good! The restaurant owner, the staff were very polite and kind! Totally satisfied. 🍂🐐🖤

That was our first time trying African restaurant in Berlin and if I’m being honest it wasn’t pleasant.When my friend and i entered,we were told we could only order beans and plantain or rice and kontomire stew out of the menu yet some people came later when we were still there and ordered other meals they wanted .Secondly ,we choose a table for ourselves and we were told to move to another table which wasn’t even tidied after use 🤦🏾‍♀️..To us the food was a mid and the kontomire didn’t taste nice .

Food: OK, just a little too much pepper on the pasta. The service was slow; the server forgot a dish on our table and blamed us for not reminding him. The wait was relatively long for pasta with tomato sauce 🙄. Not friendly overall; they only accept cash and PayPal, and they added €1 to all dishes. However, the neighborhood was quiet and the music was pleasant. I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a great place to try African food. It is well seasoned and quite flavourful and the portion sizes are very generous. The servers are really friendly. I had the fufu and it was quite delicious and had a heat kick to it. The plantains were caramelised and is a great vegetarian option. Also the beans served with them were really delicious. The Wakye was also really tasty and came with an amazing sauce on top. The fish was crispy and tasted fresh. Good option of drinks and also African drinks available too.

I recently visited Bei Joe, a Ghanaian restaurant in Berlin, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. I ordered the fried plantain with red red (bean stew), and it was simply amazing. The blend of flavours was actually insane – perfectly seasoned, rich, and comforting in every bite. You could truly taste the authenticity and love poured into the dish. The plantains were fried to golden perfection, crispy on the outside and sweet and soft on the inside – exactly how they should be! My dad had the kontomire (cocoyam leaves stew) with white rice, and it was just as delicious. The kontomire was flavourful, hearty, and packed with traditional spices that reminded us of home. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served fresh and hot. The staff were warm and welcoming, creating a laid-back and friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It’s clear that Bei Joe is more than just a restaurant – it’s a place where Ghanaian culture, hospitality, and food truly shine. If you’re in Berlin and looking to experience authentic West African cuisine, Bei Joe is a must-visit. 10/10 would go again!

The best West African food in town! The dishes are authentic, the portions generous, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite – the fufu with peanut soup and the wakye are especially delicious. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is all-around pleasant. If you haven't tried Asanka at Joe's yet, you're definitely missing out. A definite recommendation!

I had the beans and the fried plantain, which reminded me a lot of my country’s food, Colombia. The rice was too little but everything tasted really good. My bf had the chicken and he said it was a little dry but he liked the rice. Really nice place and attentive people.

Unarguably one of the best African restaurants not just in Berlin but Germany. I tell people confidently, trust me come with me to Joe’s and they’re never disappointed. The taste is ever green all dishes are authentic and tastes just like Ghana. As a Nigerian I have come to fall in love with the Ghanaian style of Joe’s meals. The price, feel and vibe is just rare something we’ve been missing in Germany. The funny thing is a lot of people still don’t know this place I love that it’s not mainstream. Those who know know 😍👌🏿

In short: Good food, poor organization, long wait times, and, unfortunately, some unfriendly staff. Long: The fufu was delicious, which is fair to say. Unfortunately, the rest of our visit was anything but pleasant. We waited almost three hours outside in the cold for our food, while other guests who arrived significantly after us received theirs much earlier. We almost left, but were repeatedly assured that the food would arrive soon, so we didn't want to be rude and stayed. However, after this unusually long and unpleasant stay, we definitely won't do that again. As a small apology, we were given three bottles of water and the information that one dish would not be charged, which was fine at first. Nevertheless, it remained chaotic: Two ordered dishes were completely missing in the end. Instead, one arrived that no one had ordered. The waitress was obviously stressed, initially apologized several times, but then became increasingly annoyed and, as an explanation for the long wait, said it was our own fault because two people had joined us spontaneously. We honestly found that quite inappropriate, as that doesn't explain a three-hour wait!? A discount was initially declined. Only after a lengthy discussion did the manager come over, who was very friendly and understanding. He offered us a discount of €2 per dish. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't give us any change afterward, but simply kept the full amount. The free dish wasn't available, and one person in our group had to pay for a dish they neither ordered nor liked. The waitress wouldn't listen. All in all, it wasn't a pleasant experience. The wait is certainly not always this long, and even though the food was really good, we would have preferred much more attentive service. We definitely won't be coming back.

Wonderful food, excellent service, I had never tried African dishes before, I loved it. There were 3 of us, each ordered a dish, but there was so much food that we could share. I recommend it to anyone going to Berlin. I'm from São Paulo, Brazil.

Asanke at Joe's – A true piece of Ghana in the heart of the city! The four of us visited Asanke at Joe's yesterday, and I have to say: It was a real highlight! The service was excellent, very warm and authentic; we felt welcome from the very first moment. The food was fantastic, authentic Ghanaian and simply delicious, almost like home. You can tell that the food is cooked with love and tradition. The atmosphere was lively and exuberant, with good music, a great vibe, and super friendly people; you just felt at home. A very special thank you goes to Adjoa, who welcomed us. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, someone who truly represents the restaurant with heart. People like that make all the difference! I highly recommend Asanke at Joe's to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Ghanaian food. A real insider tip, thumbs up!

The food was very delicious and the atmosphere was very nice, good music and friendly staff. The only problem we had was that once we left we realized we had paid more than the price listed in the menu outside. We recommend to include the prices of each meal in the menu that is given inside to avoid future mistakes in the payment process and to optimize the process of ordering because we had to repeat many times what we wanted.

I'd go there over and over again. The best place to experience a great Ghanaian variety of Dishes from Waakye to Fufu and one the weekend special soups. As a matter of fact, I visit it every week ever since I discovered it and the quality has never changed. Bei is in fact Ghana's finest and one of Westafrikan best restaurants in Berlin. Now I feel home in Germany.
