A wonderfully friendly couple run the place! A great, down-to-earth restaurant with a family atmosphere and high-quality food. We'll definitely be back!

The food is really delicious, the price is a bit on the higher side, but the service is very friendly and fast. The atmosphere is rather rustic and cozy.

Everything about Dichterklause is just right, from the delicious food and the warm, attentive service to the cozy, inviting atmosphere. The crispy chicken burger was by far the best I've ever eaten: perfectly crispy, wonderfully juicy, and simply a flavor highlight. The sambal schnitzel is and remains a true classic—spicy, tender, and a delight every time. You feel completely at ease here, and every visit is a little treat. I always love coming back and can wholeheartedly recommend Dichterklause!

It was our first time there. A very quaint place. The service was very friendly and somehow perfectly suited to the restaurant. Everything was just right. The food was delicious. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and the portions were good, except for the dip.

This restaurant is incredibly cool. The service is absolutely top-notch; Marie is attentive and accommodating. The food is excellent and flexible. I highly recommend a visit! This is exactly what you want from a local establishment!

The drinks menu is just as good, with everything your heart desires, especially freshly tapped beers, and a prompt, courteous waitress. A lovely pub right in the heart of the neighborhood, just like it used to be. You immediately feel at home; we'd love to go back!

A very atmospheric ambiance that combines tradition and modernity in an appealing way, accompanied by appropriate music. The food is of excellent quality, delicious, and the drinks are well chilled. Went there with friends for the second time today. Everything was great for the second time! Great drinks, great food, excellent service, and the location is old-school, which is why it's so great. Prices are reasonable. You can have a good conversation, not too loud. Parking is easily available within a 100-meter radius, but you can search a bit. Or take the tram around the corner... We'll definitely be back! People, visit the Dichterklause and don't let the good old pubs die out! It's worth it :-)

Great burgers!!! I haven't eaten such a good, high-quality burger in a long time. The meat is really tasty and grilled to perfection. The service is very personable and friendly. The ambience is rather dark and from the outside it looks like an old German pub. But it is very comfortable inside.

The staff is very friendly and the service is good. The taste of the food is good to very good. Unfortunately the portions are quite small, especially the goulash. We didn't get full, even though the prices were relatively high. For a goulash dish that costs just under €18 and doesn't fill you up. Therefore unfortunately only 3 stars.

Portions small, prices large. You won't get full. Unfortunately, the location lacks a soul. There is no feel-good factor. Then go to the Bosco restaurant, which is in the immediate vicinity!

We were greeted and served very friendly! The ambience is rustic/cozy with individual accents, matching the name. :-) The map is not overloaded and clear. We had burgers and schnitzel. Both very tasty. The fried potatoes made from jacket potatoes are also delicious, but there could have been a few more. The fries are great and the homemade mayo is a hit! Super delicious. All in all a successful visit. :-)

Great pub, great and very nice service. I'll definitely come back. When it comes to the currywurst, however, it should be noted that it seemed cooked to me and therefore a bit limp. I usually find them fried and therefore crispier. But otherwise great in taste. Great sauce that is different. A few more fries would also work.

The menu is attractively designed and the service was top: regularly at the table, attentive and competent when questions were asked. Both the veggie burger with beetroot-kidney bean patty and the poet burger with 180 g Angus patty impressed us in terms of taste. The veggie burger surprised with its Mediterranean seasoning, crispy fried patty and the combination with herder cheese. The Poet Burger impressed with its juicy patty and the successful harmony of the ingredients, although a crispy component such as bacon would have been a highlight. The buns were visually appealing and neutral in taste, which meant that the individual ingredients came into their own. The fries were crispy and full-flavored and the truffle mayo and regular mayonnaise complemented the whole thing perfectly. The prices of over €15 per burger seem high at first, but are justified thanks to the included fries and a dip. We are burger addicts and are searching for the best burgers in the Hanover region. #burgertourhannover

The menu is small and reads well 😋. The credo is home-style cooking at fair prices. We opted for the schnitzel, fried potatoes with a fried egg and the "inevitable" currywurst with fries. The food was properly prepared and presented. The fried potatoes were crispy, but the fries were less so! The schnitzels are hand-beaten and breaded every day, according to the “boss”. We were well full and ate with appetite. The interior is rustic and seemed somehow “old German”, I like it that way 👌. And we were addressed very friendly and served courteously. Super nice staff, I love coming here. Of course the beer always tastes good! The mulled wine is currently very tasty. I had the kale with potatoes and two eggs and it was absolutely delicious 😍 In general they have a lot of vegetarian selection.

A great evening in the pub in the new Ärzteklause! The atmosphere is very cozy, rustic with modern accents. The heart is the wonderful service, and they also do a really good job in the kitchen. I had the burger: not overloaded and with a wonderful smoky aroma and the best meat. I felt like a cowboy looking at his ranch. Definitely coming back soon!

Welcome to the Ärzteklause, the secret workshop for connoisseurs, dreamers and friends of fine beer enjoyment. There is no standard waiting for you here, but rather a poem in pub form that will captivate you right from the first visit. A bit inconspicuous from the outside, but when you enter the shop it becomes poetic: soft light, rustic wooden tables and an atmosphere that would lure even Goethe out of the crypt. The walls are decorated with pictures of past nights and great thinkers - I'm sure Schiller left his initials here somewhere. The staff? A class of its own! When the waitress brings the beer with a mischievous smile, you know: this isn't just a thirst quencher, it's a balm for the soul. You order a beer and get a little piece of wisdom on top, free of charge of course! The drinks? From draft to craft beer, every thirst is poetically quenched here. And if you come hungry, you'll stay full - with hearty food that takes you right back to the good old days. Every bite is like a line from a favorite poem. Conclusion: The Ärzteklause Hannover is more than just a bar, it is an experience, a story and a poem at the same time. Anyone who hasn't been here is missing a chapter in the book of life.

Went there for dinner today after a conference. It tasted wonderful, the portions were just right, the potato soup was a poem. Oh yes, and round ice cubes in the drink afterwards, somehow nice in detail. We'd love to come back.

A quaint location in Hanover. The recommendation for this place was great. A small menu but the salad and fries were good. I would take the waitress with me straight away if I still had a restaurant👍🏻

It's unbelievable what Timo and Marie have conjured up from the shop. I was there 9 years ago and barely recognized the store last week. The whole Siff has disappeared and yet the rustic pub has not lost any of its charm.

After the change of ownership, something great happened. Classic, yet modernized ambience, very fine cuisine and service with a lot of heart. Surprises are also guaranteed, which is why it's worth stopping by every now and then or following Insta.

Excellent quality, in this case beef goulash for €16.60. In my opinion, however, the portion served is more like a children's plate or an appetizer; not a main course.

We had a lovely evening in a great corner pub atmosphere. It's a bit of a shame that the daily recommendations advertised via Instagram (including Labskaus, Königsberger Klopse) didn't find their way into the menu, which was quite manageable and basic. What we had was good. Only the goulash could use more filling. All in all, a great evening in the pub.

Nice corner pub with great service and a suitable menu. Overall, everything appears to be of high quality but still fits the ambience. One drawback was the schnitzel. Many pictures show an almost perfect schnitzel but unfortunately we didn't get this. The breading was not airy at all and very soft. However, everything was seasoned well and the meat was good quality too.

It's a shame when the landlady is always in a bad mood. When the weather is nice, putting tables outside seems like too much. The worst thing for the guest, the sound makes the music. On the other hand, if you stand in front of the entrance with a dog to ask for a free table, you will only be shouted that dogs are forbidden in the poet's retreat. So, no problem, two attempts, twice surprised at the behavior, found bad. There won't be another attempt and if dogs are forbidden inside, you should also write it down outside, then you don't have to scare away potential guests.

Quaint restaurant with a unique atmosphere. Delicious schnitzels and burgers. Card payment is possible without any problems.

The bar/restaurant was only taken over by new operators in May. The waitress was very friendly and cheerful. A clear menu makes selection easier. There were four of us and we all found something very tasty, including vegetarian and a very good Labskaus as a special dish. So we were very satisfied and would love to come back! If you arrive by car, please note that there are no private parking spaces. But we were prepared to find a parking space. A look at Google Earth made this possible.

With the new opening, the owners have achieved a great mix of tradition and modernity. Rustic atmosphere inside without being old-fashioned, delicious food with classics like schnitzels and new editions like burgers. Everything is always delicious, including the selection of cakes in the afternoon. Insider tip: For longer social evenings, ask about the game collection there! :)

The new tenants are doing a great job, the ambience is classic but beautifully renovated. Schnitzel was decent and Herri was good as always.

5 stars are not enough. We experienced wonderful hospitality today, starting with a very friendly greeting and ending with a really nice farewell. I'm a guest in many restaurants, but here I always felt a very honest, open and friendly atmosphere that doesn't often exist. The food was qualitatively and visually perfect. The rose was also very tasty. With this review I would simply like to thank Marie and her team and wish you much success. Stay like that and it will work! I'll definitely come back.

Finally!!! The “Klause” is open again. We were totally happy. And with the new operators, a lot of fresh air is coming into the hermitage. The dust of the past has been shaken off (wonderfully renovated) without losing the quaintness of the hermitage. The food was very, very good and the service (Marie) was warm and professional. The audience has become younger and the counter is no longer only frequented by “those who always sit there”. Breakfast is now offered on weekends. Pb is it worth it??? All in all, a very successful evening and we'll be back, no question...

The Poets' Klause has finally reopened after what felt like it would be closed forever: ;). We've been there a few times and tried drinks, food and delicious cakes. Everything has been great so far and we hope that things continue like this for the Poets’ Klause. You can tell the owners have a passion for gastronomy and the will to make it successful. Keep it up :)

The poet's retreat awakens from its sleeping beauty 😊 We didn't allow ourselves to be deterred by many different stories about the new operators and their concept and got our own impression of the "new" poets' retreat! The first impression was impressive, the redesign was a success. The guest clientele has changed for the better, there are now more younger guests in the Ärzteklause and this is good for this place! The food and drink menu was very manageable at first glance and has changed positively from visit to visit! The dishes are freshly prepared, whether salad, schnitzel or the good old currywurst are tasty, the drinks are not inferior. The prices have been raised, but if you value quality, taste and good service, this shouldn't stop you from visiting! My wife Katrin and I feel very comfortable here. We were both guests in the "Old" Poets' Klause and are now guests in the "New" Poets' Klause because change is part of life. We are impressed by the concept and are excited to see what happens next. We wish the new team only the best.

We were very happy that the Ärzteklause reopened under new management. We always enjoyed coming there. Unfortunately you are no longer allowed to bring your dog with you. Our toy poodle Lotti is also very sad about this because she no longer gets any delicious pieces of meat. We would be happy if the dog ban would be reconsidered. Then he would give us a lot of stars again.

Went to the Poets' Klause again this evening and had another delicious meal. Great service, nice staff and good home cooking. Gladly again. Keep it up.

Highly recommended restaurant. Having “cast off” the dust of the last few years, the location shines in new splendor. Modernity and tradition were combined with attention to detail. The food was excellent (Jägerschnitzel and Currywurst), fresh with homemade sauces and not just convenience from the deep fryer… The white wine from the recommendation was very tasty. The service was charming and warm. Special requests were gladly fulfilled. We'd love to come back more often!

The Töpferklause reopened on May 1st with new owners and we have already been there a few times! A great ambience from an old traditional corner pub with a new modern paint job :-) The schnitzel with the roasted potatoes is very tasty! The selection of drinks is also modern, nice drinks to hang out with friends (gin, craft beer, etc.). But you can also get classic Herri and light beer and schnapps here. A great mix and continued added value for the neighborhood!
