Very pleasant atmosphere in all areas.

Our stay at the DEVA Achentaler Vitalhotel in Marquartstein was very pleasant. Rosi was the highlight of our stay 😀 The very nice receptionist was very welcoming, took the time to address our requests and concerns, and was happy to get feedback from my chef (who I had with me). Thank you 😘 The main course on the first day could have been improved, but otherwise, I'd be happy to go back anytime 😊

Nice location, that's about it. The apartments are quite nice, the bathroom and bedroom quite clean, but the rest of the property could be cleaner. Despite confirmation, no additional bookings are known.

The hotel can be recommended. Only the mattresses left something to be desired, as they were very soft. The breakfast, however, was very good with an attractive selection.

We still felt very comfortable and would definitely come back! The breakfast is very filling, with something for everyone. Dinner was delicious, and there was a wide selection! A very cozy hotel on the edge of the Alps. Very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and tidy. I just felt a little more homely and comfortable. Free underground parking and a wellness area were included. The breakfast was very extensive and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately, I can't say much about the view, as the clouds were very low. 😅 The hotel is cozy, and the sauna area is beautifully decorated. Our room had a covered balcony where we could relax even when it rained. All in all, it was a very nice short break, despite the rain.

The hotel's decor, with its abundance of wood and many small details, makes it feel very cozy and peaceful. A place to feel at home!

The breakfast is very varied, everything is there and good. The room and bathroom (the shower is a bit dated) are very pleasant. The location is beautiful with a view of the mountains. The food, a bit expensive but good, is much too expensive for the fried potatoes with vegetables.

A Disappointing Stay – More 2-Star Than 4-Star We selected this hotel based on glowing food reviews and the promise of a relaxing wellness experience. Unfortunately, what we encountered was a property in noticeable decline, lacking the basic care, consistency, and attention to detail that a four-star rating implies. First Impressions & Maintenance Issues The hotel smelled musty upon entry — like a damp locker room — setting a poor tone from the start. Décor is outdated and tired, seemingly unchanged since the 1980s, and operational care appears inconsistent. Hallways had cleaning equipment left out all day, visible stains on the bedsheets, dirty bathroom exhaust fans, and small but telling details — like dust-covered dried lemon slices placed as “decor” on a blanket in the wellness area — suggest deep neglect in housekeeping. The Wi-Fi was barely usable, echoing infrastructure you’d expect in far less developed settings. Guests unfortunate enough to land in Room #12 should prepare for issues; we requested to be moved. Dining Experience Fell Far Short Food was a major letdown. What made it especially frustrating was the disconnect between the menu descriptions and what was served. A preview listed a dish with cherry tomatoes that sounded like a creative preparation, only to arrive as a few halved raw tomatoes tossed alongside mashed potatoes — with no seasoning or thought. • Vegetable soup was lukewarm and lacked flavor. • Salads came without any dressing, and guests competed for the single oil and vinegar caddy available. • Main dishes were consistently under-seasoned: couscous clumped together, the fish had a bland flour coating, and chicken was dry. • Dessert each night was basic — typically pudding or a scoop of ice cream — with no variation or effort. The kitchen clearly struggles. We later learned the regular chef was out sick during our stay, but that doesn’t explain the overall lack of culinary standards or planning. For a hotel marketing itself as food-focused, this was simply unacceptable. The self-serve beer in the lobby cooler is overpriced at €5.20 per bottle, despite being the same brand available at Edeka down the street for €1.19. A simple pricing adjustment would likely increase guest satisfaction and sales. Sleep & Spa Comfort The beds were another low point. Memory foam mattresses may suit some, but ours lacked proper support, especially when paired with a broken bed frame missing planks. We ended up placing the mattress on the floor just to get a flat sleeping surface. Wellness area showed signs of aging. This small cellar area had mildew in the corners, visible water damage, and dusty decorations. The so-called fitness room was in such poor condition it felt it was staged to check a box — genuinely a concern if you’re health-conscious. Conclusion This hotel is coasting on past reputation. The current state reflects two-star quality at best. Whether it’s outdated decor, poor food execution, or lack of maintenance in wellness areas, it’s clear the hotel needs serious investment and hands-on experienced leadership. To management: Your property has potential, but only if you address the decline. Don’t let it slide further. Guests notice when care is missing. To potential guests: Until meaningful improvements are made, we recommend looking elsewhere — especially if food and wellness are priorities in your stay.

The hotel is centrally located yet very quiet. We really liked the rooms and other facilities. The staff was fantastic, friendly, and very attentive. We were completely satisfied and can highly recommend this hotel!

If you're not into action, this is a great place to stay. The staff is really accommodating, and we thought the food was great. The wellness area is small, but it was sufficient for us. The package included a great massage—absolutely top-notch value for money. The hotel has 80s charm, but is incredibly clean. We highly recommend it for a four-night stay!

Never this hotel again… Dubious business practices: Booked 1 room twice due to a malfunction in the booking app. Despite a cancellation request through the booking portal, the hotel insisted on paying for two bookings! Reception absolutely narrow-minded and dubious!!!

First of all I would like to say that we were very satisfied with the dinner. The breakfast, on the other hand, is carelessly prepared and doesn't offer anything special - you get full, that's about it. We had a junior suite, joke. Bavarian rustic would have been acceptable, but the room was absolutely shabby and not clean in every detail. Many 3 star hotels are run with more love and cleanliness than this one. Everyone should form their own opinion, but we understand the other negative reviews only too well.

A beautiful entrance hall and the good location are the only positive things that can be said about this hotel. Everything is outdated, partly dirty. The staff is completely overwhelmed, can't remember anything, or is inattentive. The food is a total disaster. Food is only warmed up and of poor quality. There was no cook on site. There was no second helping. Always the same salad. Almost the same dessert with frozen berries 4 times in 7 days. Every youth hostel is better positioned. We looked for 4 stars in vain

Neglected, understaffed and carelessly furnished hotel that is in no way even close to 4 stars. "Suite" is a barren shack with old and unkempt, worn-out furniture - completely filthy couch with no pillows, blankets or anything else to make you feel good - dirt and dust hasn't been removed from under the bed in the bedroom for weeks - small balcony that lets you look over other people's roofs - Complete catastrophe

The hotel is located on a side street. There is free underground parking for cars. The hotel team gave us a friendly welcome. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable. The food was very good, you could choose from three dishes in half board. The massage I booked was very relaxing. All in all, we would definitely book the Achentaler Vitalhotel again.

The hotel is in a very quiet location with a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was very comfortable, bedroom, bathroom with shower, a small kitchenette and a living/dining area with a balcony. Bathrobes for the sauna area were available in the room. The sauna is relatively small (max. 4 people). The relaxation area is beautifully designed with a shower area and padded loungers. Tea and water are also available. We had booked half board. The breakfast buffet is extensive and offers something for every taste. Dinner was served as a 4-course menu. For the main course you could choose between meat, fish and vegetarian. The individual courses at dinner were really very good and prepared to perfection. The service was also great. The hotel offers on-site parking and an underground car park. The location of the hotel was ideal for us (near Austria, Lake Chiemsee, thermal baths, etc.).

I was there alone. Dogs are allowed here. I had my favorite with me. It was beautiful there. Come again. Good breakfast and good dinner. Massage was good too.

We came here for a weekend to relax. The hotel is very quiet, has a small wellness area and also offers very soothing massages. We got a small holiday apartment with a nice living room and a bedroom, bathroom and a kitchenette. The evening menus were very tasty and sufficient for our needs. Breakfast offers a wide selection of food and drinks, both hot and cold. For our wedding anniversary, the breakfast table was lovingly decorated and had a little surprise! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were completely satisfied! The small wellness area invites you to relax after excursions. There is a refrigerator with self-service drinks in the lobby, so you don't have to stay thirsty even late in the evening.

Me and my girlfriend were very disappointed. The hotel is declared as a wellness facility, unfortunately this was not the case. The steam bath was broken and there was a small mini sauna in the entire spa area that was no warmer than 40 degrees. The beds were hard as a rock and the rooms were super uncomfortable. The location is very quiet. The food and the staff are very nice and friendly, especially the receptionist who acted quickly to find a solution to any concerns. This hotel is not suitable for wellness lovers.

We stayed at the Vitalhotel for 5 days. Quiet and pleasant location with a small parking lot on the side and entrance to the underground car park that you can use all the time. We had a small holiday apartment, old-fashioned but with charm. The bathroom was renovated not too long ago, has everything you need and is not too small. A small room with a kitchenette with a minibar, very practical and clean. A couch and a comfortable seating area were available with a bottle of water. A small balcony with table and chairs, There I was missing a clothes rail or something similar to dry clothes. You can also have towels or similar cleaned by the hotel, which was very accommodating. We looked out at the mountain behind, beautiful flowers everywhere on the railings. This is enough for two to three people. Negative: The bedroom, the beds were old and uncomfortable, unfortunately this room had no charm, everything didn't match in terms of color (it was assured that new mattresses had been ordered). There are one or two corners in the apartment where you could lend a hand, repair a ventilation grille or remove a few black spots on the wall here and there. I suspect this was one of the older rooms. The rooms don't look the same either. Food: We had half board with a breakfast buffet and a four-course menu in the evening. The dishes were mostly delicious and there were 3 choices for the main course every day (the portions of the promotion are much smaller than the a la carte portions) The soups and salads were always something different and usually delicious. Breakfast: There was a great selection of sausage and cheese, eggs cooked and scrambled, various types of rolls, croissants, jam, spreads, fruit, vegetables, yoghurt, juice and various types of muesli as well as fruit salad. Negative: Unfortunately, the bacon was never crispy and the sausages were never properly fried, which was a shame. It would also be nice if the staff would check more often whether the buffet is stocked. The restaurant is closed at lunchtime and in the afternoon. Service: Overall nice. The service was not that attentive when it came to the terrace, wiping or setting tables, giving gifts, handing out pillows, etc. There is still room for improvement. The breakfast inside can also be expanded. On some evenings the waitresses were overwhelmed. More consultation/communication with the guests could help. The terrace is nice with a great view of the mountains. The small wellness area is nicely done and the sauna is very hot ^^ The massage was okay, the room was a bit cold. The masseur was always friendly and attentive. We were able to park the e-bikes in the underground car park where there was a space with bike racks. (Multiple sockets were designed) That was good. At reception you could get information about which alpine pastures were good and what other activities you could do. There were also bike tour maps etc. All in all, it was pretty nice in Unterwössen. Great place with a lot of charm too.

We had imagined our stay to be a little different. The food was good, the rooms were a disaster, the sauna was 40 degrees, the highest it had to offer. Everything is very old and many corners are missing. The hotel, especially the rooms, urgently need to be renovated and the furniture also needs to be replaced.

Friendly staff, well-kept house in a quiet location, conveniently located for trips to Lake Chiemsee, Salzburg, Berchtesgarden, Kufstein, Kitzbühel and later for hikes, skiing, various leisure activities around the hotel itself. The pleasant atmosphere of the house, well-kept, clean rooms in a high standard, a rich breakfast buffet including salmon and prosecco ensure a cozy holiday feeling and a good start to the day. An excellent range of services that is really worth the trip! Here the guest is welcome and every hotel employee strives to optimize the guest's holiday experience! Gladly again!

It was (almost) perfect. The food was exceptional, the food service was good, only that, on the last evening, something normal maybe, the waiter was over-demanded by other customers and did not really have control over the dining room and could not be present in 20 seats. The room was acceptable, it could still be heated, it was a bit cold, I had asked for an extra thick blanket, and the pillows a bit soft... Underground garage, perfect, outside parking-convenient, small kitchen, small fridge, was ok, bathroom acceptable, just like the cleaners, wash or vacuum only in the rooms, but don't clean the bathroom, wash the sink, or the shower stall ,...they didn't change the bed sheets, although I was hoping they would, the terrace of the apartment perfect, mountain view, but I had no idea how to get there...any tips? In other words...I RECOMMEND AND I WILL RETURN, only when I'm passing through there. Otherwise... good luck and try... 2, 4, 5 days, as a result, you will be put on plan 2, when new customers appear... We felt good. Although, we did not try the sauna, because, although it was on offer, no one told us how to use it... Otherwise, staying overnight there, once every few years, is worth it... Thanks for hosting... It was OK.

Super hotel, super nettes Personal und die Gegend ist sehr schön, on zum Wandern oder Skifahren oder sonstige Ausflüge zu machen

Hier ist die Bedienung nicht sonderlich freundlich und trägt die Maske (Corona) nicht über der Nase. Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich, genau wie die Größe der Portionen. Als es dunkel wurde, war das Essen kaum zu sehen, da die Beleuchtung nicht ausreichend war. Trotz zahlreicher Gäste war die Bedienung 15 Minuten nicht zu finden.

Der Hotelmanager stemmt die Corona-Krise. Absolut profimäßiges Vorgehen. Sehr breit aufgestelltes Frühstücks buffet das nur mit frischen Vinylhandschuhen und Mundschutz besucht werden darf. Am Abend ist das Jungbullensteak oder der Wolfsbarsch absolut von der Karte zu empfehlen-

Das Restaurant kannten wir aus vergangenen Besuchen in Unterwössen, waren damals sehr gern zum Essen dort. Deshalb also für den ersten Abend unseres Urlaubs telefonisch einen Tisch reserviert. Mit dem Eigentümerwechsel hat bis auf die Inneneinrichtung absolut alles gewechselt, das männliche Personal schien völlig überfordert. Man wollte uns sogar einreden, der Tisch wäre für eine Woche früher reserviert gewesen. Das Essen war Mittelmaß, Preis und Leistung alles andere als ausgewogen. Ein Abendessen in vormals sehr schönen Ambiente zum 45. Hochzeitstag hatten wir uns anders vorgestellt - geht so gar nicht.

Gute Küche , sehr freundliches Personal , kleine aber feine Karte die alles enthält was man sich wünscht. Angefangen von Suppen , Salat , Fleisch , Fisch , Vegi. Wir kommen gerne wieder , es hat uns gut gefallen.
