We had dinner with Martina & Tom with 10 people. The service was first class: friendly, customer-oriented and quick (although there was another group of 8 people and other guests also on site). The kitchen shone with very tasty, above-average-sized, vegetarian and beautifully prepared dishes. If you give notice in good time (1 day in advance), dishes can also be prepared vegan. I can highly recommend the spinach dumplings! This passion is a brilliant achievement by only 2 people! Together with the Bavarian, rustic ambience, this is definitely worth more than 5 stars. Thanks for the lovely evening!

The starter of bread pieces dipped in salt and pepper with olive oil was much better than the standard program, baguette with garlic butter ; ) The main course for me was the hunter's roast, which was also excellent and must have really come from a happy pig ^^

I can't explain the good reviews here. Nice chef, very unfriendly landlady, food was at best okay, prices way too high. A small side salad came in a tiny dip bowl that felt no bigger than an espresso cup. Unfortunately, we had spent a lot of money there, and the mood during and afterward was unfortunately very somber due to the landlady. All in all, a disappointing evening. As locals, we won't be coming here again.

Unfortunately, as a guest, you feel like a burden; the service was very unfriendly. The food is mediocre at best, but the prices are quite high.

There's hardly a better way to end the day! A married couple pursuing their calling. The food was delicious, the ambiance wonderful, and the service very friendly. In short: This visit to you was as beautiful as the surrounding mountains.

The spinach dumplings were perfect, as was the roast, tender as butter! A very friendly couple. You can immediately tell that everything is run and cooked with passion and joy!

For a "schnitzel with fresh mushrooms" that costs over €20.00, I would have expected a variety of fresh mushrooms, not just canned ones. The beer garden and the gazebo didn't seem particularly inviting or cozy to me. Rather, they seemed a bit dingy.

We were not disappointed. A lovingly run family business run by a married couple. The husband still cooks the food himself, and the wife served us. The meal was truly a dream!!! The spinach dumplings were homemade and so, so delicious. My partner had the roast pork, and he said he'd never eaten meat so tender. Here, great importance is placed on the ingredients and craftsmanship. Simply fantastic! We would come back anytime and highly recommend it! PS: We recommend making a reservation :)

I discovered the restaurant through the website. I organized a meal voucher for my wife, and we went there on the first day of our vacation. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we'd wanted or hoped for. The outdoor seating on the terrace, right by the street, isn't the most comfortable, but that didn't bother us much. What we found worse, even the children (11 and 16), was that the landlady was overwhelmed and made it known. If you, as a guest, feel sorry for putting a strain on the restaurant, that's unnecessary. I've never felt guilty about visiting an inn until that day. The food wasn't bad, but when the plate of cheese spaetzle is hotter than the spaetzle, I know what's going on.

We got a table at short notice. The landlady tries to make everything possible. The two run their restaurant with a lot of love. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very cozy. We always enjoy coming here when we're in the area. We were there again this year and were not disappointed.

The chef personally cooks, and the lady manager takes full responsibility for the service. Guests are warmly welcomed with her friendly, Bavarian manner. Unfortunately, we hadn't booked in and couldn't get an outside table, but it was still very cozy inside. Reservations are recommended. We had the daily special: bread dumplings with fresh mushrooms and venison/bratwurst, and roast with napkin dumplings. Both dishes were pleasing to the eye and, more importantly, tasted excellent. Thank you very much, we'll be back.

We love this small but lovingly run restaurant. All of the dishes are still prepared in-house, mostly using regional products or even from Thuringia, as was the case with our visit yesterday (Thuringian Wild Bratwurst). The food is still cooked with love and passion, which you can taste as a guest. The landlady goes to extraordinary lengths to make every guest's experience as pleasant as possible, so that you can only feel at home. No matter what we've ordered there so far, it always tastes just right, sometimes even like a little piece of ⭐️ cuisine.

We went out to dinner with friends on a recommendation. On the menu, which was a one-page overview, I found a Wiener Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. Since I love fresh mushrooms and it's also a good time, I chose that and also had a small side salad. A short while later, we were served bread with oil and seasoning, because the food took a while. Nice gesture. Then came the side salad, the size of a cappuccino cup. I waited patiently for my schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. The schnitzel was okay, but the mushroom sauce turned out to be a chewy and oddly colored substance made from a packet of sauce and containing canned mushrooms. To make matters worse, the whole thing was also overly salty. Overall, the price unfortunately doesn't match the value. Since the price was handled very professionally, the quality of the food should also be improved next. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it - what a pity. Yes

In the rustic inn, we enjoyed Tom's delicious roast and outstanding apple strudel. Martina looked after us warmly.

Very welcoming hosts, friendly, and with their hearts on their sleeve. That's how I like it. We were seated very quickly without a reservation. The food was delicious and of excellent quality. They love what they do here. A definite recommendation.

We ate at the restaurant with our toddler and dog and were absolutely satisfied. We made a reservation via WhatsApp based on previous reviews, which was completely hassle-free. When we arrived, we received a warm welcome and were immediately seated. A high chair was available for our toddler son, and our dog could comfortably lie under the table. The service was excellent, and the food was simply good, homemade Bavarian cuisine. The value for money in this restaurant is definitely good. The highlight for our little one was the lollipop for dessert, and even our dog got a treat.

The owners actually run the restaurant with just two people! A bold but effective concept. The (daily) menu features a changing selection of dishes that aren't prepared in a jiffy, but rather with time, love, and skill (the roast beef!!). The owner always finds time for a personal word; by the second visit, you'll feel like a regular. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.

We recently had dinner at the Schmiedbräu Inn and were very impressed with both the service and the food! Even though the kitchen was already closed, we still managed to get two delicious roast pork dishes with dumplings and red cabbage.

TOP-NOTCH in terms of food quality and service. Everything is freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients. I tried three different dishes (schnitzel, roast pork, and cheese spaetzle). Everything was EXCELLENT. The food was hot and very well seasoned, the portion sizes were generous, and the value for money was absolutely reasonable. Even the plates were preheated! If you value fancy food, you'll have to go somewhere else. I prefer Martina (thanks for the great service) and Tom (kiss the cook!).

A very unpleasant dining experience. The welcome was rather unfriendly. We should have left immediately. Unfortunately, we ordered something. The food was served on chipped plates. The schnitzel was drenched in a thin (ready-made?) sauce, and everything was, in our opinion, too salty. Even the landlady's rather fake friendliness couldn't save much. Overall, we believe that the laudatory reviews in no way reflect the true standards of the establishment. We ourselves will refrain from another visit. Two stars overall for the welcome from the kitchen (bread - a small amount of oil for dipping was still in the refill bottle on the table).

We are here for the second time in a row because we enjoyed it very much and felt very comfortable. Very nice service, good vegetarian dishes and super tasty schnitzel and dessert. Definitely worth a visit! :)

A very comfortably furnished restaurant with very nice and attentive owners. We ate the pork knuckle from the daily menu and a roast pork. Both were fresh and super tasty. You really noticed the quality of the meat. Unfortunately you can only pay in cash there, but there is a bank less than 100 meters away, so nothing should stand in the way of a visit there. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

Quaint restaurant with a small but special menu with very good food. Here, for example, you can get schnitzel in various creations, just the way you personally want it. And no, there are no fries with it! (which really isn't a bad thing). We'd love to come back.

A nice little restaurant run by a married couple. The lady is very friendly and helpful. The meal, sauerbraten with dumplings and salad, tasted very good. Unfortunately, I am of the opinion that the amount of meat didn't quite match the respectable price of €24.

So, we spent a week in Chiemgau and ate in several restaurants. But what was presented to us here was the absolute best. Taste, consistency, spiciness... of all the dishes we ordered were the best we enjoyed in Chiemgau. And a really nice and friendly service - what more could you want. An absolute recommendation to anyone traveling in the Unterwössen area. We'll be back!

Went there recently for dinner, here are our impressions: Positive: + Lovingly decorated restaurant + Operated by owner Eat: - We had cheese spaetzle, Jägerbraten and schnitzel - Cheese spaetzle were very tasty - the spaetzle at the schnitzel & Jägerbraten were swimming in clarified butter, definitely too much of a good thing - Otherwise the taste was okay, but nothing more Service: - Both the chef who serves the food himself and the owner who serves drinks appeared extremely stressed. Hence, in our opinion, possibly the rather unfriendly treatment of guests. You didn't really feel welcome. - A so-called "robber's plate", i.e. an additional, empty plate (without cutlery!!!), for children who eat with their parents costs €2.50. Yes, it is shown on the map. But I still personally consider it a cheek to calculate this, even though we ordered an "adult meal" for our two children. If necessary, it could be explicitly mentioned when ordering that there will be additional costs instead of pointing out the card afterwards. Ambiance: - Outdoor area is fine, tables and chairs wobble because the facility is on gravel. - right on a main street, but that didn't bother us. Overall, the stay and the food were OK, but the service was not. That's why there won't be a second time for us.
