Six of us went there for dinner last night, on the spur of the moment and without a reservation. Although it is off-season and the service is not fully staffed, we were served super friendly and quickly. Every dish (spinach dumplings, roast pork, spaetzle, soup, salad) was delicious. Small, rustic and comfortably furnished inn. We were served very friendly. I have rarely eaten such a delicious roast pork with bread dumplings, red cabbage and sauce. We also ordered Viennese-style schnitzel with spaetzle and wedges, which also tasted excellent. We'd love to come back.

A nice little restaurant run by a married couple. The lady is very friendly and helpful. The meal, sauerbraten with dumplings and salad, tasted very good. Unfortunately, I am of the opinion that the amount of meat didn't quite match the respectable price of €24.

So, we spent a week in Chiemgau and ate in several restaurants. But what was presented to us here was the absolute best. Taste, consistency, spiciness... of all the dishes we ordered were the best we enjoyed in Chiemgau. And a really nice and friendly service - what more could you want. An absolute recommendation to anyone traveling in the Unterwössen area. We'll be back!

Went there recently for dinner, here are our impressions: Positive: + Lovingly decorated restaurant + Operated by owner Eat: - We had cheese spaetzle, Jägerbraten and schnitzel - Cheese spaetzle were very tasty - the spaetzle at the schnitzel & Jägerbraten were swimming in clarified butter, definitely too much of a good thing - Otherwise the taste was okay, but nothing more Service: - Both the chef who serves the food himself and the owner who serves drinks appeared extremely stressed. Hence, in our opinion, possibly the rather unfriendly treatment of guests. You didn't really feel welcome. - A so-called "robber's plate", i.e. an additional, empty plate (without cutlery!!!), for children who eat with their parents costs €2.50. Yes, it is shown on the map. But I still personally consider it a cheek to calculate this, even though we ordered an "adult meal" for our two children. If necessary, it could be explicitly mentioned when ordering that there will be additional costs instead of pointing out the card afterwards. Ambiance: - Outdoor area is fine, tables and chairs wobble because the facility is on gravel. - right on a main street, but that didn't bother us. Overall, the stay and the food were OK, but the service was not. That's why there won't be a second time for us.

We went to the Schmiedbräu beer garden with our dog twice in a row in the evening because the food was so delicious and the atmosphere was so nice. Luckily we had reserved, otherwise we might not have gotten a table. What was striking was that everything was prepared fresh and with a lot of love. Our absolute favorite was the prime rib of beef in red wine sauce with Martina's cucumber potato salad and extra side salad. Buttery and simply delicious! We had dinner with Martina & Tom with 10 people. The service was first class: friendly, customer-oriented and quick (although there was another group of 8 people and other guests also on site). The kitchen shone with very tasty, above-average-sized, vegetarian and beautifully prepared dishes. If you give notice in good time (1 day in advance), dishes can also be prepared vegan. I can highly recommend the spinach dumplings! This passion is a brilliant achievement by only 2 people! Together with the Bavarian, rustic ambience, this is definitely worth more than 5 stars. The innkeepers were very welcoming and, at our request, we served a delicious crusty roast.

We were in Unterwössen with a cycling group and ate at Schmiedbräu three times. The food tastes super delicious. You can taste that everything is freshly prepared here, no ready-made stuff. As a group you can also pre-order a dish, e.g. roast pork. It is then put into the oven in the morning and it comes out really well. Also worth highlighting are the tasteful, rustic furnishings and, above all, the friendly innkeeper couple. Absolutely recommended!

The restaurant is an absolute MUST if you are in the area. If you're looking for homemade Bavarian home cooking, you've come to the right place. The inn is as you would imagine it to be in Bavaria (familiar, friendly and delicious food) We were thrilled and had very nice conversations with the landlady. Zum späten Nachmittag sind wir eingekehrt, meine Eltern sind aufgrund ihres hohen Alters in der Bewegung eingeschränkt, so bin ich auf leichte Unterstützung angewiesen. We went to Schmiedbräu twice during our vacation in Unterwössen. The rustic ambience, Martina's great hospitality and Tom's deliciously prepared food made us completely happy 🤗 The map is small but nice. There were three of us there and we had three different dishes. Everything was tasty and plentiful! It was a shame that the venison goulash (daily dish) was served in a deep plate together with dumplings and salad. So the salad was soaked in gravy. The roast pork with red cabbage and large dumpling was delicious, I would have expected it to be a little more tender. We had reserved a table and arrived about 10 minutes early. This resulted in repeated loud and unpleasant excuses for us that the service would take a while. We were happy to be able to sit down and an apology would have been more than enough. Otherwise the service was very attentive and friendly! What convinces us is the regional origin of many ingredients and especially the meat!

We happened to end up at Schmiedbräu yesterday and had a great evening there. The menu is small and fine and our food was delicious 😊 The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is excellent. We shared our table with a very nice couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We recommend!

The current innkeepers are local, friendly and absolutely great! He cooks fresh and... delicious! She runs the place... with friendliness and great willingness to help... Listens carefully to the guests and practically reads their needs from their lips! In summary... if you want to spend an extraordinarily beautiful and cozy evening, the Schmidbräu is the right place for you... BUT... make a reservation in advance, because there are already many regular guests who eat here regularly and enjoy a good mood... a lot Fun and in the summer outside in the beer garden!

Unfortunately an experience that started well but went downhill. Mediocre food, not exactly orthodox and hospitable management, with abrupt and inappropriate manners for a place that can be defined as welcoming. Even the obvious way of asking for a tip was quite annoying: they automatically kept the change and then lectured me on how it worked there. They put you in a position not to do otherwise, even if you had a bad time

5G with star - Cozy ambience, hospitable innkeepers, delicious food, great schnapps, successful evening - recommended! There are so many little things that make the Schmiedbräu so special - rolled towels on the toilet, bread with oil and salt to start with, a smile to greet you, well-chilled draft beer, loving decoration, super clean... True, as another poster wrote: "run by two people with a lot of commitment." And it's really a decent restaurant, nicely decorated if not a bit cluttered, small winter garden. Perhaps the name “Wirtshaus Schmiedbräu” is a bit misleading; you would expect a typical Bavarian brewery inn. That's it minichen. The head of service is incredibly active and fully present and talkative. The kitchen is tidy, tasty and medium priced. We imagined the roast pork with a crust instead of drowned in sauce (but it tasted good). We have never seen red cabbage (slightly overcooked) with this. Before the meal there is a plate for herb oil and a few small pieces of brown bread. There is a fine selection of beers and some German wines, also a nice presentation of schnapps. It can happen that you are seated at the table with other people, but in my case this was anything but a problem because I had a really great conversation with these people. The menu is manageable but there should be something for everyone. The small menu ensures that the products are fresh and regional. I will definitely come back.

We came across the restaurant by chance. You will be warmly welcomed by Martina (owner) and your jacket will be taken away from you. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Bedienung überaus freundlich, Speisen sind sehr lecker und man wird ordentlich satt und der Preis ist gut. Absolutes highlight ist der Kaiserschmarren. Wir waren in einer Woche Urlaub zwei mal hier und wären bei längerem Aufenthalt sicherlich noch ein drittes mal gegangen.

Top Service, das Lokal wird sehr herzlich geführt. Das Essen ist TOP, die Käsespätzle waren vielleicht die besten, die ich je genießen durfte.
