Excellent accommodation with a lovely restaurant

A nice little hotel with a good, reasonably priced restaurant – we'd happily return and stay overnight. The rooms are really nicely furnished – unfortunately, there's no breakfast, but there's a bakery right across the street where you can get breakfast. We were very satisfied 👍

We were looking for a place to meet friends for food and conversation halfway between Lauenburg and Rendsburg. Nice atmosphere, delicious food, great service, reasonable prices. We'll gladly come again.

Unfortunately, broccoli with pasta is a no-go for me. It tastes and smells strongly of rennet. I would recommend a different cheese. Otherwise: The service is super friendly, and some of the other food here has really good reviews. The ambiance of the bar and restaurant looks appealing.

The toilet flushed with hot water! The only negative was that breakfast was not included as it says here but we went straight across the street to a small cafe that served a fantastic breakfast.

We didn't stay here but ate here in the evening, attracted by the menu. It was our first time here. We were directed to a dark corner or to a patio on the roof, with a roof over it. We went up. We ordered schnitzel and saltimbocca. We both got fried potatoes as a side dish, although the amount was very uneven on both plates. You should have seen that, but the guy who served ordered some extra potatoes, plus for that. No one came up to ask about the food. We finished eating, went down and paid. The service was not attentive. My three pieces of meat in the saltimbocca looked pale with its cheese coating, a bit sad. Piece of meat number three was not cooked through, and it should be pork, it was a bit raw. I only pointed it out when paying because no one came up to us. I didn't get an apology for this. The menu seems nice but I probably won't go here again.

If you're looking for a good restaurant for 15 people in a hurry, Gutschmecker in Bad Segeberg is the place to go. Good, straightforward menu. There's something for everyone. Prices are very reasonable; I highly recommend everything.

I can't rate the rooms because we only used the restaurant: the reservation was quick and easy. The four of us had lunch: tagliatelle with salmon in tomato and cream sauces, penne arrabiata, and spicy scampi with vegetables. We also had non-alcoholic cocktails – they are highly recommended! The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly.

I can only review the restaurant, as we weren't overnight guests. For me, it's an absolute insider tip, and the 4.3 rating for the food and value for money is underrated in my opinion. We visited a few restaurants in Bad Segeberg that disappointed us and didn't live up to their positive reviews. We went there for dinner on Friday evening. We reserved a table in advance by phone. A very pleasant phone call, as was the welcome we received. We were assigned a table. Up until then, we were very satisfied. However, when the food finally arrived (fairly quickly), things went downhill. We were completely ignored. Our plates were cleared, but no one asked how we tasted or if we wanted anything else to drink. We then asked for the menu for drinks and dessert. We were served food, but no one came to our table to take our orders. The waiter kept walking past us at our table (with a piece of paper and pen in hand). They looked at the table but then walked on ignorantly, as if we weren't there. This was despite the fact that our glasses were already empty during our meal. After waiting 30 minutes for the bar staff to come, we asked for the bill. They could have made a lot of money off us, but apparently that wasn't what they wanted. Even the question about the restroom was answered very rudely. We won't be eating there again. It has nothing to do with service. We've never experienced anything like it before. Simply rude.

We ate at the hotel restaurant. The setting was quite pleasant. The staff, even though we were almost the only guests, were uninterested and often distracted. They kindly made me a small portion of breaded mushrooms. Unfortunately, the sauce-to-mushroom ratio was epic. Both the small side salad with the mushrooms and the large salad plate were very diversely mixed. Unfortunately, the dressing used a lot of oil. It was partial. Unfortunately, the salmon on the salmon fillet was left on the grill a little too long and became dry. The fish plate was okay. The restaurant has a lot of potential for improvement.

Hello, we go to this restaurant very often and we really enjoy it. The owner is very nice, as are the staff. As for the prices, the food is absolutely amazing. And it's always delicious.

We got a room at short notice. The room was fine, although we were only staying for one night since we were at the festival. Otherwise…great service and delicious food. We had a few drinks in the bar across the street in the evening. The parking lot, hotel, and bar were all close together, making it a great location. We liked it a lot and would definitely stay again.🙋🏼‍♂️

We booked a double room at the hotel. What we got was simply outrageous! A bed 1.5m wide and 30cm from the wall. This made it impossible to access the bed comfortably. The rooms are more like a shoebox than a hotel room. Not to mention the lack of mobility in the bathroom. We couldn't even close the bathroom door behind us when we were standing at the sink. ...NEVER again in this hotel!!!

I was only there one night, the room was on the bottom right, a bit like a slightly larger storage room. There was nothing to complain about with the food, very tasty and enough, and the service was okay too.

We were there without an appointment and got a spot straight away received, very friendly, the food went quickly, really tasty!!! ,big plates!!! Very good attentive service, prices are also acceptable, top!

We visited this evenings Restaurant by a chance visit to the area. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful, the food was really good as I was expecting literally typical german ‚Kneipen‘ food. There was in accordance to the season an Asparagus menu with local produce. I ordered a Schnitzel with Salat and it hit the mark. The Chef came out not the restaurant to take our food and drink order, all very professional.

Stopped by the restaurant for dinner with 5 colleagues of different nationalities. Employees where very friendly and helpful. Ensured that everyone got to order the right things from the menu. Portion were big, food was delicious and prices were fair. There is a very good chance of me stopping by again if the chance presents itself.

March 22, 2025, 6:30 PM A table reservation by phone wasn't necessary, according to the service. Upon arrival 10 minutes later, we got almost the last seat. Dishes: Schnitzel, a frozen product with little flavor, ketchup almost runny. Fried calamari with fresh tomatoes and fried potatoes; food almost cold, calamari tough, tasteless, fried potatoes not seasoned at all and almost like mashed potatoes. Tomatoes a tablespoon-sized dollop of tomato salad with lots and lots of onions. Service was attentive, table candle out. Unfortunately, not worth a visit.

We ate there, it was super tasty with good portions and friendly service in a nice environment.

We were there on a Friday evening and it was very busy (reservations are recommended). We sat at a high-top table, which was also very comfortable. We started with bruschetta (incredibly delicious) and for the main course, two steaks were delicious and very tender. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere pleasant.

We were there for the first and unfortunately the last time. The service was inattentive. We would definitely have drunk more if we had been noticed. The food wasn't that good. Noodles were sober. Nothing special. The grill plate for just under 23 euros was disappointing. The meat was dry and some pieces of meat were indefinable. There was no salad and it wasn't lovingly prepared. Too bad.

We went there for the third time. Each time for "dinner with a corpse." The first time (about 3-4 years ago), we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, so we went back a year later. The quality had declined significantly, but it was still okay. Yesterday was our third and definitely last time. What was served there, at a not-so-cheap price, was a disgrace! For starters, arugula salad leaves with balsamic vinegar. A bit of Parmesan cheese, two cherry tomatoes, a few crumbs of chopped walnuts, and two slices of bread. My husband, who can't stand salad, simply asked for a few slices of bread, was simply ignored. Then the main course. It was amazing. Three small, dry chicken fillets, each about 10 cm in diameter, topped with a slice of cheese, and four croquettes. That was it. For dessert, we had tiramisu, which was quite delicious, and the only course we ordered after they asked if we liked it. Very disappointing for us; everyone definitely enjoys it better at home, and it's cheaper too. We won't be eating there again. What a shame!

Since 2010 we have always enjoyed coming to the Gutschmecker whenever we are on holiday in Bad Segeberg. Great food, nice hospitality and a great ambience. Keep it up.

We won't go there again. Went there today for our daughter's birthday (we had specified when making the reservation), not even a candle on the table. We sat upstairs, very uncomfortable light. After an hour the starter came and after another 50 minutes then the main course. The taste was ok, but nothing special either Except for the antipasti (which was very tasty), some of the food was cold

Unfortunately very disappointed The pork tenderloin was very tough. When the money was collected, there was only a "I'll pass it on to the kitchen" and a disappointed look when the tip didn't come. As we were leaving, the owner apologized and offered a drink on the house, which we declined because we were already standing in the door. It is an individual experience and of course does not reflect everyday life. Despite the very tasty fried potatoes, there is still an aftertaste.

However, I would have sat better and more comfortably at home. The store was full to capacity. We were assigned a small table in the aisle. Above that there is a large screen and above it a speaker with music. A calm conversation or relaxed atmosphere did not arise. It's a shame overall

Even though this review is also listed as a hotel, I was only able to review the restaurant here. What is striking when entering the premises is that it is quite pompous for such an inconspicuous external appearance. The whole thing is reminiscent of restaurants in Turkey. The menu is so diverse that you can't really see a single line and you might assume that you could get "lost" here. But to make it short. The food and drinks were impeccable. The schnitzel top was handcrafted and my wish that wasn't on the menu (croquettes) was also fulfilled. Remarkably good service. Parking spaces available on the side of the building. The winter garden in front of the building can be opened using a convertible roof.

When a friend visited the Bad Segeberg rehabilitation clinic, we decided to eat at Gutschmecker. The service was attentive but by no means intrusive. First of all, I ordered the peanut soup with fish fillet. It was very tasty! If you like Asian dishes with peanut sauce, you should try this soup. For the main course I had the broccoli pasta casserole in a Gorngonzola cream sauce. The casserole was served in the form. The portion was very generous so I couldn't finish it. The service asked me if I wanted the rest packed. I gratefully accepted this offer. The fresh, warm bread was also delicious. The atmosphere has something dim and cozy about it. If I'm in Bad Segeberg again, I would definitely eat at Gutschmecker again.

Yesterday we ate for the first time and everything was fine. Went there again today for dinner because we were very excited about the day before. Unfortunately we were totally disappointed today. We sat outside and had informed the restaurant that we would be sitting outside. After 25 minutes the order was taken. Drinks came fairly promptly. We had to wait an hour for our food. No sorry, no kind word. That's really a pity. The staff doesn't come to ask if everything is okay or if we still have any requests. It's a shame we would have liked to have had another evening like yesterday.

Hotel: The room is completely okay, apart from the fact that the light constantly goes out when showering because the shower curtain covers the motion detector. It's tight, but it's fine for one night. What is not possible is that the restaurant staff talked loudly, laughed and made phone calls on the loudspeaker for half the night (the room was facing the parking lot and the restaurant's rear exit) 20 meters away. The photo is also fake. The house looks like that, but the sidewalk alone where the "terrace" in front of the restaurant is actually very narrow and there is a bike path right next to it (maximum 100cm next to the table). The cyclists speed past - completely regardless of whether the narrow piece of space past the terrace is very tight for pedestrians and there is no way to get out of the way. The restaurant itself: My husband had average cevapcici with fries that had been cooked for too long, my stuffed minced meat was raw and when the same fries were thrown into all the delicious Duvic rice, they were also soggy. In the interest of fairness, a price reduction was offered for my meal. I had a sleepless night after 500 km of highway with traffic jam and 500 km of highway with traffic jam back after that night. Unfortunately, because of an important appointment, we didn't have a choice with a dog at short notice, but that was really unpleasant. We may have been unlucky at the restaurant, but the inconsideration of the restaurant staff, knowing that paying guests next door are trying to sleep, and the parking situation directly under the window that is open in the room due to extreme heat are an absolute no-go even if you don't If you sleep like a rock, then I don't recommend this.

We had lunch at Gutschmecker with our family a week ago and it was very pleasant. Attentive service, good food. It was very hot outside but the temperature in the restaurant was comfortable. Everyone was super happy and we look forward to the next visit.

A very nice restaurant in terms of furnishings, good food, but almost 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting brought the rating down. Some guests came after us and left before us in time. Hopefully better next time.

The food wasn't bad but not special either. Not a bad place to eat in itself. The dishes are also visually appealing. Were here for the first time, but had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. People who came after us got their food before us. Unfortunately I find it very disappointing. But maybe we were just unlucky.

I find it a bit dark on the ground floor. The outdoor terrace on the upper floor is great. With a closable roof in case of rain. The food of my 6 guests was very tasty for everyone. I had dinner there a long time ago and the food wasn't that good. Something happened there. The food was just very good. Served hot. TOP We recommend.

The service is super friendly and attentive. My cheese tasted too salty for me. I was offered to choose something else, but I declined. So this shouldn't be seen as criticism. When asked about the ingredients in the salad dressing, the answer was that it was a kitchen secret. We explained that it was an allergy, but we were not given any further information. As far as I know, you have to make this information available to customers. That would be my suggestion for improvement
