Der Daddy Beef.Buns.Burgers in Trier

After trying Goldies in Berlin and Hob's in Hamburg - two burger joints that are very hyped - I just had to visit Der Daddy, especially since I live close by. The cheeseburger was really outstanding, the taste was just perfect. The special burger, currently a raclette burger, also sounded incredibly tasty. Compared to the other hyped burger joints, “Der Daddy” is in a completely different league. Despite all the praise, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the fries. Given the high standard of the burgers and the quality products used, I would have expected the fries to be homemade. Unfortunately it was frozen food - but not the cheapest kind. It took about 10-15 minutes from ordering to enjoying, even though the place was full at the time. I was lucky to arrive just before 12pm during the week and was just able to get a spot at the counter as there are no reservations. When I left the store there were at least 10-15 people waiting outside to get a seat - during the week mind you. I have to be honest: the burger probably wouldn't have been worth standing in the cold for 30 minutes to get in - as good as it was. There are plenty of equivalent alternatives in Trier and the surrounding area, even if they don't offer burgers.

I always find it great to eat out here as there is a wide variety of products and there really is something for everyone. The possibilities are, as just mentioned, very large. There are also variants for vegetarians/vegans. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel comfortable. Always my pleasure!!

The Holle Burger was very good, but a burger like that for €10 doesn't fill you up at all. You are forced to take fries that were also interesting and good. In the end, the price was okay, almost everyone voluntarily tips again (apparently everyone has too much money). Overall a great experience, despite a 45 minute wait.

Update: We visited the store again. There were two of us and we were the first 6 people to enter the restaurant right at the opening at 5 p.m. We were assigned the bar table. We strongly asked for a normal seating option (sitting). Our express wish was denied. We lined up long before the store opened just so we could stand again at the end. In the catering industry, the principle “customer is king” should be lived out, especially if they face hurdles (long journeys, queuing, etc.). This seems to be about maximum profit and not about the well-being of the customer. It's a shame, that was our last visit here. _______________ A solid burger shop in the heart of Trier. The ingredients are all very fresh and coordinated. There is a lot of sophistication behind the concept. We had different burgers and fries. Everything was very tasty and you can tell that the ladies and gentlemen have mastered their craft. The burger makes it into my top 3, however it's not the best burger I've ever had, but it's definitely the best within 150km. You should be there on time and definitely bring some time with you. Price/performance is fair.

The (avoid) food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the actually laudable system of “only as much as available” works poorly. We were one of the first in the evening and there was no more “burger of the month”. Supposedly sold out by lunchtime. Since we were lured by advertising, went there yesterday and were at the door at 4:40 p.m., we were correspondingly disappointed...

It was just very, very cool here and the burgers are simply the perversion at it's best🥰😍🤙🏼 If you like the combination of peanut butter and jam, you definitely have to try the “Elvis P.” try out. I’m a student who’s in trier for one night and I was looking for some places to eat, especially after a rough and long busride. I came out at der daddy’s a burgerrestaurant, even so I’m not a huge fan of burgers the interior and photos intrigued me. I ordered the classic American cheeseburger with classic fries and oml they were amazing. Thank you so much for the great service and for making my day with such good food.

Exhausted and starving from crushing your session, all you can think about is a burger from Der Daddy—it’s been calling your name the entire workout. After waiting 20 minutes in line, the craving grows louder. You finally step inside, take a seat, and anticipate devouring what you hope will be an amazing burger. Your muscles are screaming for protein. The burger arrives, and for a moment, you just stare at it, wondering how you’ll conquer something so perfect. Then you decide to destroy it, just like your workout—but with a little more care and a lot more pleasure. That first bite… wow. Take me back to that first bite. Amazing burger joint, great vibe, lovely staff, and an unforgettable experience. I absolutely destroyed and enjoyed the Der Dirty Double. Highly recommended!

Everything that is served there is first class! Fries, wings & burgers! This also applies to the people who work there. Word has gotten around and that's why the waiting times are a different story. 2.5 hours for a burger at a random time like Saturday at 4 p.m. is really long. It would be cool if you could just eat a burger here. Trier needs a second store!

Always worth a visit. Delicious burgers with juicy meat. The new burger “The Homeboy” is my new favorite (burger of the month, as of January 14, 2023). Juicy, tender meat with a beautifully spicy birria jus for dipping. I could have sat in.👍🏻

I've been a guest there for years. Simply very good quality throughout, with love for the product. Daddy is now rightly considered one of the best burger restaurants in Germany. I also recently discovered chicken wings. The ones from August were the best I've ever eaten. There are also Bitburgers on tap.

The burgers are freshly made and full of flavor - the burger I had was the second best I've ever eaten! Hardly any other diner can keep up with this. The BBQ burger is particularly recommended, as it impresses with a great sauce and crunchy vegetables. The service is friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. You feel welcome and well looked after here. The only small disadvantage is that it can get a little more crowded at peak times and the waiting times could be a little longer. But the delicious food makes up for it! Overall, Der Daddy is a great place to enjoy American classics in Trier. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

After waiting 30 minutes in front of the door (it feels a bit strange) we got a table, the service staff was very nice...Burger with truffles was very good (even if small), fries were normal as in others Restaurants, however, cost extra, with a burger price of 15 euros you could be there....burger with fries and 2 cokes almost 30 euros....I think it's too much....

Wir waren zu dritt in diesem wirklich ausgezeichneten Burger Laden. Es war ein Samstag und wir sind zum Glück schon um 11:40 Uhr dort gewesen, da stand schon eine längere Schlange. Öffnungszeit war 12:00 Uhr. Viertel vor hat man uns reingelassen. Super professioneller Service. Essen Bestellungen wurden schnell aufgenommen Und auch schnell an den Tisch gebracht. Die Burger sind brutal gut, Pommes auch, besser geht es kaum. Dazu kommt halt der super Service. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist okay. Absolute Empfehlung, wenn man in Trier ist. Es standen übrigens die ganze Zeit noch Leute vor der Tür, die auf Einlass gewartet haben.

Absolutely the best burgers I've ever eaten. (I had the Oklahoma and the OG, both absolutely great) The fries were also very strong, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. For me, this no longer falls under the “burger” category, it’s on a level of its own. The price is also absolutely great.

Given that you are a little further out, it would be fair to calculate the opening times or the quantity so that you can offer customers something to eat. You have to be very lucky to get a place, there must be a reason for that? Yesterday I was at Daddy's with a friend whose favorite was the Burgeramt. Now his favorite is Daddy and he certifies that it is significantly better quality. We both loved the burgers and fries and are looking forward to our next visit.

Cool! This meal is a 1000/10. We've been there so many times, tested the entire menu and can only rave about it. Food, service, ambience - it's all perfect. A pure orgasm unfolds during the first bite and lasts throughout the entire meal. Whether it's a burger, fries or a beer. And that's why we're happy to stand in line and wait a moment! Thank YOU for this experience of fresh food & beer like obviously in America (I never have been there). Keep it up! :-)

After a long time with daddy again. You always plan for the waiting time right from the start. It was ok too. But the quality of the burgers has decreased significantly in my opinion. When I order a burger that costs 15 euros and then receive a dry Erwas, I wish I could go back to my daddy's early days. In the past you couldn't have enough napkins at the table, the burgers were so juicy and well topped. Today's burger of the month was very dry and carelessly designed. If there are chanterelles on the burger, there should be a little more than 2 fragments. The burger looked really great on the menu. Unfortunately only in the picture.

We became aware of the shop through Holle and happened to be in Trier. Once you make it in (lunch was still OK), a mega (smash) burger experience! Also nice service. Keep it up 👍

Wir waren mit zwei Kindern unterwegs und kamen kurz nach der Mittagsöffnungszeit im Laden an und es waren schon recht viele Tische besetzt. Wir wurden super nett vom Daddy begrüßt, direkt einen Tisch zugewiesen. Obwohl der Daddy die meiste Zeit draußen mit seinen eigenen Kindern beschäftigt war und andere Kinder auf der Straße gleich mit entertaint hat und kurz danach auch weg war, lief alles super. Die Mädels im Service waren echt auf Zack und auch unsere Burger kamen schnell und waren lecker. Die Burger sind nicht die größten, für uns und die Kinder jedoch ausreichend und vor allem saftig. Gute Atmosphäre im Laden, passendes Ambietent für einen Burgerladen. Einziger Minuspunkt waren die Pommes, die beim Kinderburger dabei waren.

We had come a long way and the store was busy. Nevertheless, we got a place, which initially pleased us. However, the service quickly became unpleasant. Before we could even sit down properly, the waitress came and asked what drinks we wanted. We asked for some time to look at the map. But after less than two minutes she came back and wanted to take the order. Here too we asked for a little patience. Unfortunately, the waitress hardly gave us any time to decide in peace. This was quite disturbing and we felt rushed. When placing the order she informed us that the coleslaw was unfortunately no longer available, which was annoying but still understandable. However, when the food came, the arugula was missing from my friend's burger. When we asked, it turned out that they had forgotten to let us know. It was stupid, but not the end of the world. The food itself was okay, but the portions were quite small for the price. Overall, our visit here was rather disappointing. The service was far too intrusive, the food didn't meet our expectations and unfortunately the long journey there wasn't worth it. It was okay to try it once, but we wouldn't make the long journey again.

Wir hatten einen langen Weg hinter uns und der Laden war gut besucht. Trotzdem bekamen wir einen Platz, was uns zunächst freute. Allerdings wurde der Service schnell unangenehm. Noch bevor wir uns richtig setzen konnten, kam die Bedienung und fragte nach unseren Getränkewünschen. Wir baten um etwas Zeit, um die Karte anzusehen. Doch bereits nach weniger als zwei Minuten kam sie erneut und wollte die Bestellung aufnehmen. Auch hier baten wir um etwas Geduld. Leider ließ uns die Bedienung kaum Zeit, um in Ruhe zu entscheiden. Dies war ziemlich störend und wir fühlten uns gehetzt. Beim Aufgeben der Bestellung informierte sie uns, dass der Krautsalat leider nicht mehr verfügbar sei, was zwar ärgerlich, aber noch verständlich war. Als das Essen dann jedoch kam, fehlte auch der Rucola auf dem Burger meines Freundes. Auf unsere Nachfrage hin stellte sich heraus, dass man vergessen hatte, uns Bescheid zu geben. Blöd gelaufen, aber kein Weltuntergang. Das Essen selbst war in Ordnung, aber die Portionen waren für den Preis recht klein. Insgesamt war unser Besuch hier eher enttäuschend. Der Service war viel zu aufdringlich, das Essen entsprach nicht unseren Erwartungen und der lange Weg dorthin hat sich leider nicht gelohnt. Es war okay, es einmal getestet zu haben, aber wir würden nicht erneut den weiten Weg auf uns nehmen.

The Double Smash Burger is really tasty and I would actually give the meal 4 stars. However, the service staff exceeded my expectations. They were very friendly and accommodating. A young, dynamic team that always approaches customers with a smile and is very committed to their work. As for the burger: I really like Smash Burger, but I think it would be nice if you had the option to add a little pepper to your own taste, or if this was requested directly during the ordering process. In my opinion, the burger is priced too cheaply, while the prices for side dishes and drinks are a bit out of the ordinary. €4.90 for a small portion of fries and €3.70 for a cola seem a bit disproportionate to me. For example, the two guests next to me didn't order a drink; If the fries were €3.70 and the drink was under €3 and the burger was €1 more expensive, everyone would probably have been happy. 🙂

Absolutely a must try in Trier! Delicious food and great vibe.

Unfortunately, the start at Daddy's was strange. When there were free tables, we waited for a waitress “to be seated”. After a few minutes, five hungry people were sent back out onto the street to stand in line so that the sidewalk wouldn't get clogged. In the meantime a queue had formed here of guests who probably already knew this. Newbies beware: wait outside like a string of pearls until you are called in. My advice: "There is no sign here: Queue here!" remained unanswered. Very unpleasant. No pleasure! One star deducted for that. The food was super delicious, prepared with feeling and love. I was also impressed by the drinks, a fine selection. Full stars! Pleasure! But in the end we accidentally waited almost two more hours for the food. No deduction for this. To err is human. As an apology we were given a round of refreshing drinks. Next time maybe it would be better to eat to go. Oh, unfortunately table reservations are not possible either by phone or online.

The service is so unprofessional and just plain bad. The service staff is neither friendly nor useful in any other way. Visiting with 4 people, the food doesn't even come at the same time and you definitely feel like you're paying for the "name" which is not justified. Sitting at the end of the pedestrian zone, you breathe in the smoke of the vehicles waiting at the traffic lights and the traffic noise also annoys you.

The food was very tasty, the 3 stars are due to the size/price. Charging over 5 euros for a side salad that you can eat in 3 bites is steep! The fries weren't really much either. The burger patties were good but the size was okay! If you're really hungry, you should either take a big wallet with you or go to another burger restaurant!

As soon as you walk in, you'll notice the store's 90s style. The service was very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. At our place we immediately noticed a games console to pass the time while waiting, which we could use. We also got nachos as a snack while waiting. The food was divine and definitely worth the price! All in all recommended.

As some other ppl mentioned, we had to wait in a queue (about 20 minutes) before we could be seated, but the food was definitely worth the wait! Drinks were a tiny bit more pricey than some other cafés/bars (3.7 euros for a normal sized lemonade/soda), as Der Daddy mainly offers local/German brands. Food was definitely very affordable though, great price for the quality of the burgers. I had the lemonade and the Oklahoma burger with fried halloumi, my brother had the same burger but with beef and double patties. We were both very satisfied with our meal & drinks! Would definitely recommend this place for ppl who are looking for an interesting, modern take on fast food.

The fries with truffle and parmesan are to die for. And, the best part for last, the burgers are just as the slogan promises: “Drippin flavor” in a “bun as soft as a pillow”. Mega tasty and unbeatable in terms of price-performance, especially when compared to the usual fast food giants. We also ordered a burger with the Beyond Meat patty and it doesn't have to hide either. A very good alternative to conventional meat. Thank you very much to daddy and his team. Nothing to complain about. The burgers were basically perfect and everything was perfect. However, it is inexplicable to me how this place gets the hype (even if it is justified) and the Burger House doesn't, as in my opinion it is in no way inferior to Daddy. Still highly recommended :)
