Der Butt in Potsdam

After a year there were three of us in the Butt again. We have been regular customers over the years. This time, however, the side dish for my wife's fall menu did not meet our expectations at all. The fried potatoes were black and porcini mushrooms were present in minimal quantities. The gratin for our daughter's meal was also partly burnt black. We're not used to that, especially since the price category is in the higher segment. When we pointed it out, it was cleared away in a rather unfriendly manner without saying a word of regret. Not to mention a “free” coffee. The entire lunch cost us over €100. It could have been more, but not with the complacency of the service staff. Black fried potatoes should never leave a kitchen. We don't want to have an experience like that again. We are very disappointed. Professionalism looks different.

A bit inconspicuous from the outside, embedded in the Potsdam cityscape. The first person in the restaurant was a friendly waiter who, with both hands full of clearing away things, didn't walk past me but greeted us in a friendly manner. Shortly afterwards our jackets were taken away from us. The service in the restaurant was already at 5 points. The good impression lasted until the end; friendly, attentive waiters who don't force anything on you - exactly the right feeling. However, I observed that other guests' jackets were not taken away, so they may not share my impression. The restaurant is lovingly and tastefully decorated. I was amazed in the toilets: in the men's toilet there was deodorant, gel and toothpicks (!). Brilliant idea and of course I used the toothpick straight away. The prices are high, but if you remain honest they are appropriate for today's times. For economic reasons (fees and time delays), no credit card is accepted there, only debit cards. Germany is still in the Middle Ages here. However, this is pointed out right at the beginning. We had lobster (pre-ordered). It was delicious! First of all, bread with homemade dill butter, the fresh salad with the lobster was really tasty, the lobster was slightly prepared/pre-opened. Yummy. My expectations were higher for the price of the dessert. If it had been a little cheaper, it would have been better. Conclusion: we will come back and try dishes from the menu.

If you want to eat there in the evening, you should make a reservation. We had fish plate butt. Delicious. Service was very friendly. Recommendation, Limocello Spritz as an aperitif.

Centrally located fish restaurant with a friendly host. The food was very good and fresh, the price was rather higher, which is to be expected with good quality fish dishes. First there was some bread with dill butter, which was also really good. Payment possible in cash and by card. A little warm inside in summer.

Ich hatte mal wieder einen Termin in Potsdam...Wie so oft ging es in den Butt. Die Bedienung etwas schnodrig aber doch freundlich. Ich bestellte Scholle mit Speck, meine Begleitung gebratenen Lachs mit Tagliatelle. Der Lachs war ziemlich trocken,die Nudeln definitiv aufgewärmt...und klebten aneinander. Meine Scholle schien mir nicht mehr ganz frisch...Dazu gab es einen Esslöffel voll Bratkartoffeln und zwei Salatblätter. Absolut lieblos angerichtet. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich für die Scholle noch 21,50€ bezahlt. Heute kostet das gleiche Gericht in weit aus schlechter Qualität 28,50 €. Der Lachs mit aufgewärmten Nudeln 27,50 €. Alles in allem...Eine absolute Enttäuschung. Preis Leistung passen überhaupt nicht. Scheinbar geht in dieser Stadt alles den Bach runter...

I have rarely eaten fish so deliciously! Very crispy on the outside, very tender on the inside, with fantastic mashed potatoes or fried potatoes. The service was also very accommodating and friendly. Yes, the restaurant is a bit more expensive, but the price-performance ratio is definitely convincing. I would love to come back here!

We got married in a civil ceremony in Potsdam a month ago and wanted to go out for a relaxed meal with our parents that evening. After the service at the restaurant where we had coffee with our guests wasn't very convincing, the staff and the food at "Butt" sweetened our evening. Although the meal was not declared a wedding meal, the table was decorated with a few hearts and we were given a complimentary champagne to toast with. The food was really delicious and the service was A1. Above all, the owner, who welcomed us so nicely, was very personable. We can only recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back next time we visit Potsdam.

Uncomplicated telephone reservations and a warm welcome. Attentive service - a tasting glass of wine to help you decide, the (excellent) starters - bouillabaisse "with two spoons please" served in two bowls - and excellent food. We had the bacon plaice and can highly recommend it. Prices completely justified.

The Butt is a real Potsdam original. Here you get delicious fish dishes prepared with a lot of love and, in my opinion, one of the best steaks in the whole city. Many so-called steakhouses can take a big leaf out of this! The service is attentive and very friendly. If you're in the city center, you should definitely stop by here, even if it's just for a delicious dessert with coffee.

Had dinner a week ago. Great, delicious fish at its finest. It's been a long time since I've eaten such great fish. Just the service, very unfriendly, I tried to be nice. The next guest was just as unfriendly. It's a shame the chef deserves praise. But the waitress should stay at home. I won't be coming back. Das beste Fischrestaurant Potsdams. Ein Muss wenn man Fisch und Meeresfrüchte liebt. Vom Ambiente, über den Service, die Suppen und Hauptspeisen bis hin zu den Desserts einfach perfekt 👌🏻😋

Der Butt Gleich rechter Hand am Eingang, am unbestimmten Tisch, führt gleichwohl mich mein Weg lang, riech köstlich schon den Fisch. Möcht gern alleine sitzen, bei zartem Kerzenschein, seh Tau an Gläsern glitzen, denn köstlich schmeckt der Wein. Und duftend kommt der Brodem, aus Meeresmittenmang, mit ostseetiefem Odem, war´s heut ein guter Fang. Nun sitz ich satt und glücklich, leicht trunken noch im Raum, so bleibt der Butt mir nützlich, dem Gastgenuss ein Traum.

Der Kellner gradlinig witzig und das Essen großartig. Der Besuch ein Muss… Ach es gibt auch Gerichte für Fischhasser, aber die dürfen bestimmt vor dem Lokal warten.

Wir waren nun schon das dritte mal hier, es war wie immer hervorragend. Das Essen war sehr lecker, mit frischen Kräutern sehr geschmackvoll und toll angerichtet. Der Chef serviert selbst und ist immer sehr aufmerksam, ob was fehlt und sei es nur eine Kerze, die ersetzt werden muss, bemerkt er sofort. Unglaublich schön, wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste mal.

Reservierung ist erforderlich. Man wird sehr freundlich begrüßt. Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und natürlich auch flott. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Das ist eine Gaumenfreude. Der Butt ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern zum Abendessen dort. Sowohl die Husumer Schollenpfanne als auch die Boullabaise waren sehr schön. Das Restaurant hat ein sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und einen wirklich aufmerksamen Kellner. Vielen Dank!

Zum 88. Geburtstag meines Vaters einfach FISCHRESTAURANT POTSDAM bei Google eingegeben und wir landeten einen Volltreffer. Gemütliche Atmosphäre, fantastischer Service und letztendlich natürlich auch sehr guter Fisch. Leider kann ich nicht Stammgast werden, da 600 km Anreise dann doch zu weit ist, aber beim nächsten Potsdambesuch ist der Butt gesetzt. Vielen Dank.

We visited the restaurant today for lunch. It was a hot day. Unfortunately, lobsters were not available. We decided to have Dorade and fresh water fish platter. The dish was well prepared and well served. I wish the fishes had option to be grilled and not fried. Taste is completely different. The fried fish fillets were priced around €27 and Dorade was billed at €25. We had limoncello spritz which was €7.5 per glass. The surprise element of all was still water which was priced at €8. Pretty high especially for a restaurant without AC and when you start sweating within 10min of seating. The hosts were very polite and cordial.

Wir haben heute bei bestem Service hervorragend im Butt gegessen. Wir hatten eine Vorspeisenvariation und haben alle Suppen durchprobiert. Alles war vorzüglich! Zum Hauptgang hatten wir einige im ganzen gebratene Fische und alle waren perfekt zubereitet. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!
