Kind of a cool place with a special menu and flair. Unfortunately, the food itself is just okay.

Very tasty food and good service, but the prices are quite high for the portion sizes. Most of the main courses don't come with a side dish, which I find a bit unreasonable considering the prices.

The three of us shared four different dishes (feta, eggplant, hummus and falafel) and it was incredibly tasty 😍 It is definitely recommended to make a reservation, we were lucky to get a table but some of us didn't

Visit last Saturday noon. What can I say.... the food is decent, although the price remains high (but we are in Munich). On the other hand, the service... what a joke. The tall, blond young man who served us was disrespectful beyond measure! Upon arrival, even though we have a reservation, he looks down on us with a little thought like "yes, we're finally allowing you to be here, be happy" -> uh.... okay. Then we order (after 25 minutes of waiting). 45 minutes later still nothing on the table, so we ask the question. And rather than apologizing and going to find out, we took a shot like: "yeah you really don't know Das Maria: we're hyped and it's normal to wait, so stop complaining ". Bha.... 1 hour between sitting down and having something to eat, even among the stars, we don't wait that long: we'll have to learn to come back to earth. Strangely, when we asked the lady, a little older, she went straight inside to ask and we were served in 10 minutes... Anyway, in quick conclusion: food ok, everything else needs to be reviewed/discarded; and clearly I wouldn't set foot there again!

The quality of the food has drastically deteriorated - there are no longer any real main courses and only meze. We had the challah which, at 8 euros, tasted no better than a browned brioche with a long hair baked into it. The 4 falafels for 11 euros were burnt and carelessly served on a tahini pasta. The “large” eggplant mezze - tasted ok, but at 17.90 (no side dishes etc) it wasn't really worth the money either. Overall, neither the quantity nor the quality are right for the high price. It was our last visit here...

There were six of us there for dinner. Cocktails and food were ok. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. A simple hummus counts as the main course (it was tasty but nothing special). You need a few meze to fill you up and it gets expensive. The chairs outside are metal and not very comfortable

Didn't get the food until after 60 minutes. Except for a raw flatbread, it was very tasty. The quantity was a bit small for the price.

Quiet yet centrally located restaurant. We were there in the afternoon and could still choose between breakfast and hearty dishes. We all really enjoyed the food. Portions were large, so value for money was right. The staff was also very friendly. We'd love to come back!

The breakfast was really great, 5 different dishes and everything was delicious! Great for gluten free! Just: if you don't like coriander, be careful, there's coriander on almost everything and that's not on the menu 😉

Went there for the first time yesterday and it certainly wouldn't be the last time! From the very good service to the diverse selection of dishes (both large sweet and salty selection) to the convincing taste and the beautiful, authentic presentation of the dishes, everything was right here! A small point of criticism for me was the coffee, which wasn't 100% to my taste. Otherwise a convincing visit!

We were there early in the evening. The food is excellent, special starters. We haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. For me, absolute class. Unique! The waitress, a young man, was very friendly and accommodating. I can only recommend.

The food at Maria is still very tasty. Unfortunately, meals are now only offered to share in the evenings instead of main courses. I think the concept itself is good. However, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all!!! Unfortunately, the portion sizes do not reflect the high prices in any way. The menu is priced in the main course category, but you are served portions that won't fill you up. About 3 mezes per person are recommended to fill you up. And then at the end of the evening paying €60 for 3 small meze and a drink is just too much for me, even in Munich. Unfortunately I wasn't full either.

The food was great, I would give it 5 stars for that alone. To drink I had the pomegranate lemonade, my friends had the rose lemonade. Unfortunately, both only tasted like sugary water. What didn't work at all was the service. Uninterested in the guests, we had to wait until we could order (we were allowed to organize the tickets ourselves beforehand). The waitress herself was so motionless that she dropped an order completely under the table. There has to be a better way.

Not Celiac friendly! We researched gluten-free options by phone in advance and were assured that they offer enough gluten-free options. They even bake their own gluten-free bread! Once there, we pointed out my celiac disease to the friendly waitress and had every single mezze we ordered checked with the kitchen. However, there was no demand there and I was finally served a dish with wheat with the words "it's gluten-free". As a result, the evening and the next two weeks were over. It is understandable that due to the pressure and stress in the kitchen, mishaps can quickly happen. However, the kitchen staff should be aware of their responsibility towards guests with food intolerances. Since they even offer homemade gluten-free bread, you should expect that more guests with celiac disease will want to enjoy their dishes. Aside from the gluten misfortune, the food was excellent and the service was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit for all mere mortals. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant for people who depend on reliable cuisine.

Prices far too expensive, small portions. You go out hungry. With 4 mezzes you are directly at 50€. Service a bit agitated and hectic.

This was our third time here and the overall package is simply fantastic! Totally delicious food, I almost want to say excellent 🤌🏻, the friendliest and most attentive staff and a great atmosphere, whether for breakfast/brunch or dinner. An absolute must!!

The Maria in Munich is a real gem! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the food is excellent. We were particularly impressed by the creative dishes and the fresh ingredients. The service is attentive and friendly. A must for anyone who appreciates good food in Munich. We will be back definitely!

A few months ago I was at Maria and everything was great. I've been going there again in my thoughts for the last few days. Unfortunately it was a total disaster... We were ignored and often ignored by the waitress. Our food didn't arrive at the same time, which puts the concept of sharing into question... We also had to ask about the side dishes several times... Which, to be fair, were on the house. But the good atmosphere was already over…. In the end, of course, we asked the waitress about it, then the reason was that there was a lot going on at once and the kitchen couldn't keep up. I could also understand that there could be a lot going on, but you have to communicate that! Especially tables that arrived after us received their food quicker. However, the best statement came at the end: “we had to take care of the guests with the reservation first” It's a shame guys... as your food is really delicious.

I've been there several times now and every single time it's been good. The map also changes from time to time. So there's always something new to try. Everything is freshly prepared and the service is also very friendly and polite. We got a seat outside without a reservation. If you want to be on the safe side, you should reserve a place online.

We reserved a table very spontaneously and were there half an hour early - we were allowed to sit down and order, and shortly before the food came we were even able to sit outside, the friendly gentleman thought especially of us! The service was great, very attentive, not too intrusive, just perfect. The food was outstanding, a dream - we shared it with Maria In Love, it's really a lot of food for two people and all of it tastes unique. I would love to know how this nutty cocoa sauce is made, I would love to know how to make this nutty cocoa sauce.

Prices now ridiculous. 18€ for an eggplant with some tomato sauce, 17€ for hummus with some bread and pickled vegetables. It used to be great, the food is still delicious but nothing special anymore. Price-performance is no longer appropriate

Really great menu with special dishes and completely different dishes than you can find anywhere else. The choice between sweet and salty dishes and also between classics and changing dishes is also great. The only thing that's a shame is that you're very restricted here with children, there's only enough space for strollers outside and there's no changing facilities...

What more could you want, good food and everything fresh. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality. But you should have a reservation. Had a great breakfast, there was plenty of choice for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I'd love to come back!

We felt very welcomed as foreigners, in contrast to many other places in Munich

The rose spritz is perfect. Not to sweet and just delicious while you wait for your food. Which is the only downside to the place - the not so short weight before your food arrives. But good things come to those who wait, and Das Maria is definitely that. The food is so so so good, especially Maria’s Medley where you get a taste for everything.

There were six of us there for dinner. The positive first: service very good, ambience very good, food very tasty. Unfortunately, far too little, even for a single person. A mini meat skewer for 27 euros is expensive even for Munich. Waiting times too long between dishes. Therefore unfortunately only three stars. To your answer: if it is actually organic, it would have to be listed where you get your meat and food from. That's not the case here... and even then such prices would not be justified for such quantities. I'm sorry, but it remains three stars. The fact that you want to profit from the review doesn't make things any better.

The food is OK. There are many brunch options. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the sourdough bread. It's a shame when the waiters see you and you're obviously waiting for a reserved table and aren't greeted. Seems like this situation is being deliberately ignored because the tables are still occupied…. There are certainly other friendlier solutions for this! It's very, very loud indoors and quite tiring to carry on a conversation. With the 2 hour rule for reservations you feel very rushed and under pressure, which I personally don't find pleasant for a leisurely brunch day.

Unfortunately not a pleasant experience. Preparation of brunch approx 45 minutes. Coffee also not my taste. I understand the rush hour thing but it’s not the only place I have visited during rush hour. Also the receipt I received was wrong and I had to pay more. I realised lot later after I left the place and did not bother to go back. That’s my responsibility to double check the receipt I know but still not something I am used to happen regularly.

All the food was delicious. The kebab was streaky. For those who like to chew.

We were here for brunch at the weekend and felt very comfortable. Were warmly welcomed and had a nice table outside. I find it very pleasant that there is enough space between the tables and that everything is not so close together. The food was excellent, you can tell the ingredients are of high quality. Portions are sufficient, price performance is right. The many small details that conjure up the oriental feeling are beautiful :) from the beautiful interior design to the ornate glasses.

Big prices, small portions. Unfortunately it is no longer particularly recommended. In the evenings, without a terrace, it was very loud in the interior, entertainment was hardly possible. Staff, especially the boss, still have a long way to go towards the service concept.

Have been there for breakfast before, it's very good. This time for dinner, we were less convinced. First of all, negatively, reservations for indoors are not moved outside when the weather is nice. If I reserve for Mother's Day four weeks in advance, I can't predict the weather. The dinner tasted good to very good depending on the dish, but the price was extremely high, main courses for 25€, which don't nearly fill you up, are too expensive to fill you up, at least 40€ per person just for the food. What was really negative, however, was the waiting time, the restaurant was about 60% full, but the waiting time was still extremely long, sometimes 20 minutes between dishes, and for 9 dishes it was about 2.5 hours between the first and last. What's ironic here is that the waiting time for the lamb kebab is 15 minutes, but we waited about 2 hours. The concept simply doesn't work or the kitchen is either understaffed or too small. Conclusion: I would love to have breakfast again, but not dinner.

Another, in my opinion, completely overrated restaurant in Munich. Food is just average, super long waiting times, service seems rushed. If it takes 45 minutes to bring a mint tea and a light beer, you as a customer actually already know.

Everything just fits here! We were warmly welcomed and felt right at home in the unique ambience of Das Maria. We were guided through the large selection with great recommendations and the food was really a pleasure - every dish was a highlight! The team was very attentive and friendly and not intrusive in the least - top service! A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to get to know new tastes and wants a wonderful dining experience. With this expectation we were by no means disappointed at Das Maria. 😊

The food was good, but sitting at the old oriental tables in the entrance area was uncomfortable.

I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. Rude, rude and incompetent all in one. I don't even want to start with the food, I don't understand what that has to do with Moroccan cuisine, just because you offer hummus you shouldn't call it Moroccan cuisine + the supposed Moroccan mint tea was simply hot water with 2/3 peppermint leaves -> who ( Authentic) If you want to eat Moroccan food, you've come to absolutely the wrong place and if you want sensible food, you've come to the wrong place too. In the picture you can see what a gluten-free "flatbread" should be, it is simply a fried something that is in oil. Inedible.

Great Middle-Eastern style brunch restaurant. It is quite popular, but we got quite lucky and got a place inside. The menu was very interesting including hummus, baba ghanoush and skakshukas. The dishes, like plates and cups, were also middle-eatern style which made the experience even better. The stuff was really friendly and helped with a choice that would suit our tastes.

I really liked it here. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There is a good selection of breakfast options. When the weather was good, we were able to enjoy the sun outside. My breakfast platter was very tasty. In terms of price it is acceptable. Reservation is recommended.

Das Maria has a great and extensive middle east menu for brunch lovers - you will need a reservation on the weekend. Unfortunately, the restaurant does offer any seat options for babies/children, and the order took ~ one hour waiting time.

MARIA'S HAPPY Z'ATAR CHICKEN was to die for. Delicious. However, the service left more than to be desired - unfriendly and dismissive. A real shame.

Yes It has a great atmosphere, fancy and cozy place but waiting almost 1 hour for breakfast and after this getting an average food... it was not a good experience for us. For toddler there is nothing to eat really. We won’t come again.

Amazing place and great food! Feels so nice to have a spot where they serve breakfast/ brunch even after 14uhr. Hangover or not, I take the brunch even at 15uhr. The terrace is very well spotted in a sunny corner and, if it’s too hot for you, the staff will gladly open a sunshade for you. Live the Moroccan vibes and taste, not a wannabe place but a perfect effort of mixing cultures.

The Maria would be a very good restaurant in and of itself, because the atmosphere, the presentation of the food on beautiful metal plates and bowls and the nice (if not very attentive) service create a very good basis. However, for me, the most important component when visiting a restaurant is the food, and with the best will in the world I can't say that Das Maria would have satisfied me. On the one hand, the prices are high, but on the other hand, the dishes could have used a grain or two more of salt or seasoning. Especially in oriental cuisine you can choose from such a wide range of flavors that it is incomprehensible if none of them can be found in the food. The roasted cauliflower was not nicely browned (ergo roasted), but just cooked until pale and soft. Only the sucuk added some flavor to our omelet. There was not even a hint of cumin in any bite (I was able to try it in others too). The zucchini and plum cake was juicy and fresh, but again just boring. Maybe that's my personal preference, but when I go to a restaurant like this, I expect an intense taste experience, not a Germanized everything-tastes-the-same. The portion size wasn't satisfactory either, because the cauliflower shawarma, which felt like it consisted of 40% dressing-free salad, wouldn't have filled me up even if it had been made three times. ~14 € (I'm not entirely sure anymore) is just way too much for that. At least the food was expertly prepared and beautifully fresh. Overall, I think it's a real shame because if the food had been spicier (and more), Das Maria would have immediately become one of my favorite restaurants in Munich.

Unfortunately, credit cards are not accepted. It should be a given today that you can pay with ApplePay, for example. Many people no longer have cash and EC cards are becoming increasingly rare. A real shame. Otherwise I would come back, but the effort is just too high...

The food was incredibly delicious and special. I also liked the drink selection. All in all a recommendation! Unfortunately I had to deduct a star for the following reasons: - vegan selection expandable - it's super tight and very loud - after eating we felt a bit rushed to pay so that there was room for new customers. Reserve a table for three for breakfast at least 2 weeks before the appointment. We are offered a table for 2 people with a third stool. When we asked for a proper seat, we were told, "That's just the way it is here, the table next to it (distance 10 cm) is already reserved." There is therefore no question of privacy when eating. The room is actually quite small, all the tables are very close together. Two of us order breakfast for two people for a total of 44 euros with a special request to replace the egg dish with another one, also for an additional charge. We are then told quite briskly that this is fundamentally not possible and that they have too many orders to follow up on such “extra requests”. A "large" cappuccino for over 5 euros was a very classic cup. What else can you say... The food was okay, some of it was tasty, some of it was less so, the atmosphere was nicely done in an oriental way, but I'd rather spend 60 euros for breakfast for two including drinks somewhere where service is not a foreign word

Das Maria is an amazing experience. I absolutely adored the breakfast I had here ( middle east dishes). The restaurant is rather small, cozy with oriental decorations. Reservation is recommended.

Super delicious food and drink. The fact that you can't put a stroller in is a gift. The fact that there are no high chairs and no changing facilities is a bit of a shame these days. To be fair, this is on the website (but who looks at the FAQs at a restaurant?)

Went there for lunch today - and were very impressed: a small restaurant with an oriental touch, most of the seats on stools at very narrow tables, lively and loud even at lunchtime, because it was really busy. The short and absolutely reasonable waiting time for the food was more than compensated for by the quality and taste. We are simply thrilled and will stop by again soon!! Don't feel limited by the menu's many breakfast options for lunch/afternoon - many make an ideal lunch option.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice (apart from the toilet being a bit unkempt and in need of renovation), but the dishes overall are quite expensive for the size of the dishes and you get a little better value for money in comparable restaurants. The service was very attentive and friendly - but I would definitely expect that at this price. I think online reservations are good - but you also need to provide credit card details and if you don't show up without cancellation, money will be debited. The procedure is understandable, but not particularly customer-friendly compared to similar restaurants. Basically, I definitely recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back.

I wouldn't come back. The food doesn't taste bad, but other circumstances significantly affect the enjoyment: The service was extremely slow. You had to wait a long time for everything, sometimes almost half an hour passed between two dishes ordered at the same time (!). There was also little opportunity to reorder as the waiters were hardly available. The constantly open door and some tilted windows created a drafty atmosphere. Above all, however, the prices are completely unreasonable: According to the waiter, you need about 3-4 of the individual small dishes (“mezze”) that make up the menu to fill you up. However, each individual dish costs as much as a large main course elsewhere (approx. 12 - 25 euros). However, what you get for the considerable resulting total price does not do it justice. To clarify: I am willing to pay high prices for fine cuisine, but in this specific case there is simply no relationship between price and performance. What was also disappointing and even cheeky was that the “lamb bakoula” (17.90 euros) contained at most traces of lamb meat. Conclusion: money and time are better spent elsewhere.

Having breakfast outside in a wonderful 13 degrees and sunshine in February. Anyone who likes it hearty is well advised here. The delicious flatbread with hummus, avocado and fried egg was simply a dream. Breakfast is also offered until 5 p.m. and is therefore also something for late risers.

The photos here on Google Maps looked like a tempting dinner... Then the three of us were allowed to spend €95 on a few starters including one drink per person. I don't quite understand how, maybe they also added the tap water to the bill?! After asking, the waitress also said that to fill you up you should order about 3 mezzes per person (€10-20 each). The food wasn't bad, but there are better places in Munich. Absolutely overpriced in my opinion. What a shame! At least the ambience is impressive!

"The Mary" For many years, “Das Maria” was my absolute favorite restaurant in Munich: Oriental dishes (Lebanese-Israeli-Moroccan-whatever-simply delicious): Everything is fresh, wonderfully seasoned with oriental spices and originally put together. In addition, an emphasis on high-quality food (organic - 'happy forest chicken'). I've been a little "sad" since my last visit. The lunch menu still has all of my favorite dishes, but in the evening they only serve "mezze", small (tapas-like dishes), of which the waitress recommends three per person. So you won't get enough from one, but each one costs around 10 - 14 euros (well, I know, prices are rising like crazy everywhere in the catering industry at the moment, but this is an announcement times three... different than before, when " The "Maria" was still affordable.) Personally, the mostly cold mezze don't taste anything like the warm dishes from before. So - for me, Das Maria is unfortunately no longer a thing in the evenings... It's such a shame! Of course: the atmosphere is still special and beautiful with silver, oriental plates, crystal glasses and carafes. And the service is, as always, super friendly. Unfortunately, the evening meal is no longer as oriental and intoxicating as it used to be... I now have to go back a little from my previous 5 stars, which could have been 10.

Das Maria ist eins meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants in München. Die Speisekarte ist ausgefallen und divers so, dass für jeden etwas dabei ist und man immer wieder etwas Neues entdecken kann, was man sonst nirgendwo bekommt. Von Frühstück, über Kaffee und Kuchen bis zum Abendessen ist einfach alles ausgesprochen lecker. Eine echte Geschmacksexplosion. Das Personal ist echt sweet und sie versuchen immer noch irgendwie einen Platz für einen zu finden, es lohnt sich trotzdem auf jeden Fall vorab zu reservieren. Und auch die Einrichtung schickt einen in 1001 Nacht. Große Empfehlung!

Tolles Restaurant mit hervorragenden Speisen! Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort und haben ein Menü zum Teilen bestellt. Ideal! Nettes Ambiente und aufmerksamer Service!

Das Essen und der Service gefielen mir nicht und ich fragte sogar, ob ich nicht den Trinkgeldprozentsatz geben würde.

Die Präsentation des Essens war sehr schön und es war auch geschmacklich gut. Die Preise sind in Ordnung. Den Service fand ich sehr freundlich, aber manchmal etwas langsam/unaufmerksam.
